Hi, I have noticed very strange behaviour of my OrangePi PC Plus. Device is connected to internet via Wifi. After successful connection, device is connected to VPN service. A cron script is checking every minute if VPN is working, and if not, it is restarting connection. On every hour, Network Manager is being restarted (you will see why is that so later). On every minute NTP is querryed for time synchronisation. After VPN restart or rebooting of device, device sends an e-mail notification via GMail. On eth0 there is DHCP server running (dnsmasq), which is providing internet to a device connected to OrangePi. So basically, you plug in ethernet cabl…

Hi, I've tested more than 10 pcs of Lime2 rev. G and those that I received from Olimex in last supply (Jan 2017) has strange behavior, all of them. It won't boot if HDMI connector is plugged in (tested with two different screens). There is only simple message in console repeated crazy fast "rb int error!". Googling returned only two links to source code I use latest version 2017.01-armbian (Feb 02 2017 - 02:40:37) - Armbian_5.25_Lime2_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113.img When I try older Armbian 2016.09-armbian (Sep 15 2016 - 03:51:47 +0200) everything is fine. What has changed? I attach the beginning and the end of the serial console output (workin…

I'm running an updated armbian stretch mainline on a nanopi neo and hitting a wall where I thought there would be no obstacles in my path. I'm using 433Mhx Tx and Rx devices so I'm building WiringNP (from FriendlyArm) and rfoutlet (from github.com/timleland/rfoutlet.git). I'm getting errors such as wiringPi ISR: Not implemented when running RFSniffer. [This is the current error, it's been one after another]. My mind is muddled at the moment since I've done this kind of thing several times in the past on other devices including the Orange Pi Zero. Can someone tell me if this is me, or if it's a NanoPi Neo-thing? Shouldn't this be straight-forwa…

Tried installing Armbian_23.11.1_Nanopineoplus2_jammy_current_6.1.63.img and it is super slow during first boot process regardless of SD type. Localization craps out with "Failed to set time zone: Transport endpoint is not connected". I boot with wired Ethernet and when I get to a prompt I can ping outside locations. apt update produces "Hash Sum mismatch" Anyways, doing my part testing legacy boards, hahahaha

Hello, I have problem that wireless interface only reachable when ethernet cable plugged to my orange pi zero. I use nmtui, to setup my WiFi connection. All connects fine and works. But when I disconnect ethernet cable, I lost also WiFi connection. I see this post: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/4098-orange-pi-zero-wifi-issues-when-disconnect-ethernet-cable/ But even after rebooting without ethernet cable, WiFi connnection doesn't work. Then in a new clean image, I try to run nmtui without connecting ethernet cable. WiFi connects without any errors, but doesn't work. Please, help! Spoiler This is my ifconfig -a, when …

I had successfully installed Armbian_2022.08.8_Bananapi_bullseye_CLI_5.15.74 on my M1 and copied the system to an SSD which I had attached to the SATA port. Then I had updated the UUID in armbianEnv.txt and running the system from SSD was working fine. The system was running headless in my closet for about 2 months, and I even had no problems to remotely restart the device until today, when it did not come back up after a reboot. I took it from the closed and hooked it to a monitor just to see the following error messages: ** Bad device specification mmc 0 ** Couldn't find partition mmc 0 I suspected a broken SD card but a check on my Ubuntu de…

Hello, I have problem with "Orange Pi Zero Plus" and functionality of Relay module (electrical circuit= normally closed). Relay module is attached on pin/port number "0". When I set up pin number "0" from "OFF" to "OUT" state with command: gpio export 0 out state is changed from OFF to OUT and parameter in column "V" is "0". It should mean that relay stays turned of. +------+-----+----------+------+---+ | GPIO | wPi | Name | Mode | V | +------+-----+----------+------+---+ | 12 | 0 | SDA.0 | OUT | 0 | Problem is, that relay immediately after execution of mentioned command enables(turns on) output electrical circuit. hi there, just created the account to report what i experienced with my r1. unfortunately i had a bunch of changes w/o reboot so i only can estimate what caused the gap but im pretty sure it was at least the fact that i changed to the /etc/network/interfaces.r1router cfg before i rebooted from do-release-upgrade to xenial (install image has been the recent trusty of today). that was when i couldnt even ping my banana from any other box in my home net. have to say im with the german telekom which provides ipv6 in a dual stack manor. i saw on the pi console that it got the exspected ipv4, but also ipv6 addresses by telekom speedport dhcp. nevertheless from my other box it l…

Hi all, I am running a lime2 board with trusty as a server. Now I wanted to upgrade to xenial and used the standard Ubuntu way using "do-release-upgrade". Since that failed and resulted in a not booting image I was now wondering if this is the right approach for armbian as well. I was searching the docs but couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks Chris

Hello, I'm a bit confused about the documentation, to be precise the hardware notes > Allwinner Generic > reconfigure video output part. It lists various options regarding video output. Then it states Now I see, inside boot, a "armbianEnv.txt" and the mentioned "boot.cmd". However, the default boot.cmd doesn't contain a saveenv line. Also, the head of the boot.cmd clearly states Can someone lighten me up on the relationship between the files armbianEnv.txt and boot.cmd, and why I should/shouldn't edit boot.cmd? I'm running the mainline kernel on a Banani Pi Pro, if this is relevant. Thanks in advance

Hi, I followed the following link to create encrypted root. However, every time I boot, i don't see any prompt for password. My armbianEnv.txt is following", but nothing display at "Console" (HDMI) or "Serial" (debug 3 pins next to USB port). ~ Has anyone had any success? I did this for OrangePi Lite 2 (64-bit) H6 and no issue. Thanks

Hello On my Banana PI infrared receiver is not detected at bootup. I'm running armbian 4.7 jessie. The only /dev/input device is that of axp20x-pekj, which I undestand to be a power controller. My issue is similar as found in this thread: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/475-bananapi-r1-no-infrared-device/ Except ofcourse the board is different From the other thread I gather I need to change something in regards to dtb-s, but I guess as the boards are different using the same one as mentioned is not a good idea.

Greetings, can the NAS HAT for the Zero work on the Zero Plus2 H5? I have the Zero HAT, which connects to the Plus2 board, but when I connect a usb keyboard, it does not power it. Although a usb mouse lights up. I can't test the mouse fully because I'm using ubuntu server on the Plus2 which has no GUI. So again, is the problem that the Plus NAS HAT does not work on the Plus2? I see that there is a NAS HAT for the Plus2 with the same connectors that the Plus HAT has but it's smaller. Thanks in advance iomari

Recently I borrowed my Orange Pi PC2 to a friend, and he fails to set up SSH connection w/ it. After debugging w/ HDMI monitor, I found ssh_host_ecdsa_key, ssh_host_ed25519_key and ssh_host_rsa_key are preloaded to the Orange Pi PC2 image, which prevented SSH from working. Even if it doesn't prevent working of SSHD, it's also a severe security hole -- that means all Armbian installation with the same image will uses the same host key and they're vulnerable to MITM attack. I think these files should be purged when generating image, and regenerated when first powerup. It's what AOSC OS images do.

I've installed Armbian 23.11.1 Bookworm on a FriendlyElec ZeroPi. On the cmdline the linux command who gives the following output: dgs pts/1 1011643795265722162 (172.20.10.14) Usually it should be (as on a Debian Bookworm distribution): dgs pts/0 2023-12-14 10:43 (172.20.10.14) Instead of showing date and time the Armbian who command outputs this long integer number. Why? Is this a bug or do I miss any configuration? PS: the locale settings is identical on both devices, date shows on both devices the correct time.

Hello fellas, I would like to borrow your experience to compete with my task which counts (and measures) pulses on GPIO with Orange Pi zero. Currently, my simple solution is to register a callback to a specific edge and increment a global variable. I would like to catch a few hundreds of pulses in one burst which have in a 5-100 us length. However, even the number of counted pulses is not okay. Some of them are missed sometimes, which leads to an unreliable solution. I used different libs and all of them fall into the same issue. I tried the following libs: * ArmbianIO (C) * ArmbianIO (Python: origina…

Hello armbian forum, I have an Orange PI Win plus with armbian desktop legacy kernel 3.10.y on it. I also have a extension board from my Raspberry 1 which I want to use. The Problem is that the extension board needs the pins 8 & 10 for UART communication. I read already that UART(2) over pin 8 & 10 is used for Bluetooth? I don't need Bluetooth and want to disable it to free up the pins. Uart1 Pin 38 & 40 and Uart3 Pin 11 & 13 are working finde. How can I make this? With overlays or editing the .dts files?

I've noticed some other threads about Banana Pi builds not booting. I tried the 6.12v built on Jun 19 and that's when my device stopped booting. It won't even power on. I suspect the firmware update is corrupting the MicroSD card. I originally had an older build running and ran an update/upgrade and my system wouldn't boot (won't power on) after that. I purchased a new MicroSD card, and my system booted with an older build. Not realizing my MicroSD would get corrupted, I tried updating/upgrading again and I'm back to not booting. I don't have enough MicroSD cards to pinpoint the exact package. My working build is from 6.6.17, 24.5.0-trunk.58. It appear…

I've gotten the board up and running and on Wifi, but this is supposed to be a dim wifi 'lamp'. Just to start out: how do I connect the +- to the board How do I tell the board to power on the leds And for more advanced: Is it possibly to do voltage-limiting dimming as opposed to PWM If no: what's the best way to do PWM? (I'm perfectly fine with creating a c program that simply turns it on and off at a specified hz, but there may be a more elegant tool I'm not aware of) Thanks

I would like to set a GPIO to output-high during the boot. In this case, the GPIO is PG0 whose number is 192. The device tree overlay is /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun50i-a64"; fragment@0 { target = <&pio>; __overlay__ { gpio_out_override_hog { gpio-hog; gpios = <192 0>; /* PG0 */ output-high; line-name = "PG0-gpio-hog"; }; }; }; }; However, after the application and reboot, I do not see any init information in "/sys/kernel/gpio" about GPIO 192. There is no "/sys/class/gpio/gpio192" folder existed after boot either. Is there anything wrong in the overlay file?

Hi, I guess this question depends on knowing the OPi Lite hardware reset button capabilities before being able to answer the following question. but here goes: Does anyone know if the OPi Lite button can be scripted/coded to not only execute a shutdown or reboot command but to do both? So, say, a single short press would gracefully reboot the OS while a long press (hold for, say, 4 seconds) would perform a shutdown? Thanks!

Now I am unsure what function the software calls to determine the platform architecture so I cannot script around it, but this issue is preventing me from moving forward now. When I check some of the binaries with file command it reports back ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, ARM, EABI5. Anyway this causes the software I am installing to fail, any suggestions as to how to fix …

I'm trying to establish usb serial communication between an Orange Pi PC2 H5 running armbian and a samsung galaxy note 4. I'm configuring the micro USB port on the Orange Pi with libcomposite and opening up an acm port. On the android end I'm using a library by mik3y (https://github.com/mik3y/usb-serial-for-android) to establish the communication. The trouble that I'm running into getting Android drivers to support USB serial communication with the H5. I may just be just configuring the orange pi wrong. I'm using flir's usb 3.1 camera with OrangiPi 3. default value for usbfs_memory (/sys/module/usbcore/parameters/usbfs_memory_mb) is 16. Hi everyone, I have the OV5640 game ver1 image sensor with ARMBIAN 5.75 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.19.20-sunxi64. Why does the kernel 4.19.* not support the OV5640 driver? I had got a OrangePI One Plus (H6) on a few day ago. I had a problem with HDMI to VGA Converter that it do not work with my OrangePI One Plus. I guess it maybe about the Power of that HDMI on OrangePI One Plus was not enough for HDMI to VGA Converter's operation. Then I fix it by replace regular HDMI to VGA to be HDMI to VGA with 5V external port. And Yeah, it's work fine!!! but I had OrangePI One (H3), OrangePI PC2(H5) and OrangePI Prime(A64) too which All of them had no problem with HDMI to VGA Converter. I feel wonder with this problem on OrangePI One Plus.

Hello. In my project, I want to use a linphone with support for the h264 codec. In repositories there is a version of linphone but without the specified codec. I tried to build a linphone from the source code, but failed. The matter is that the assembly of the dependent package belle-sip hangs (the assembly lasted 2 days). Tell me, does anyone have any experience in successfully building a linphone from git? Now I'm trying to build a linphone on the Orange Pi zero plus 2 H3 board.

Hello, First of all, I did check/tried anything i could find on similar issues, for similar SBCs Main issue: only 2/4 USB ports are powered, but they don't recognize any device (keyboard, mouse, memory stick), although, if i plug in an USB hub, it lights up. I also tried an Android and and an Ubuntu LXDE, same problem. What bothers me is that mouse and keyboard worked with the original Android that came pre-installed on the board. Config: - Orange Pi plus 2E (the one with 4 USB ports) + heat sink + HDMI to VGA converter Power source: I tried 4 so far, currently using a PSU of 5.15 V and 4 Amps, through the DC input, jack ba…

i run a cubietruck on armbian with 4.6.2 kernel. it starts with the software on mmcblk0p1 (with kernel 4.6.2 and the /lib dir on the sd) but uses as root a partition of the ssd. when i upgrade now, i see that the upgrade process produces a new initrd.img-4.6.3 and removes the old 4.6.2. (diagnosis: the system runs, but the keyboard/mouse connected to the usb is not functional - desktop over net works!) i assume that there is something wrong with the boot.cmd - but i do not see exactly how to fix it. the upgrade process uses the ssd .../lib directory and removes 4.6.2 there. if i would mount the /boot directory with the running system (in fstab) - would this hel…

I have an Orange Pi Plus 2 that was running Armbian off of its onboard eMMC module, but I think I may have damaged it while working with the GPIO pins as it now will no longer boot from the module. During startup/reboot of the Orange Pi Zero, the module fails to get recognised and come up( output of lsusb and dmesg do not show any usb devices).
