  2. I bought an OPi Zero, the extension board, a 1/8-to-rca audio/video cable to plug into the AV jack of the extension board, and a 16 GB SDHC card. Loaded Armbian Stretch onto it, plugged in ethernet without any of the AV stuff just to start. The Pi doesn't even show up on my router settings so I cannot access it via Putty or any other SSH program. I turn it off, attach the extension board and av cable, and plug it into the TV in the hopes that I can start working on something with a USB keyboard...nothing shows up on the TV. I'm hoping that's a software issue and not an issue with the actual extension board I bought. I know for a fact it's loading Armbian because I can act…

  5. Hi, I've been running the OMV7 latest with the armbian headless latest. I've set the power button for powering the system off in the OMV's gui. When the system is "on" I can power the system down by short press on the power button, the system powers off after aprox 10 seconds (so hopefully a clean shut down), the power led and network led get off, but the USB HDD (external 2.5in 320GB WD) still shows activity after power down - the activity led on it blinks (like 5 blinks per second) and I can hear a light clicking in aprox 1sec intervals. The disk does not spin, however (I cannot hear the spinning). I've been using a battery backup (3.7V lion) wired to the BPi M1 bo…

  6. I am using GPIO(CON3) pins 8 and 10 for a project. In BPI M1+, functions for those pins are PH0 and PH1 respectively. https://bananapi.gitbooks.io/bpi-m1-bpi-m1-plus-/content/en/bpi-m1+_gpio_pin_define.html But, when I added overlays=uart3 ,I didn't work properly . When I checked the overlay file sun7i-a20-uart3.dtbo , by changing it to .dts , I figured out that this overlay file uses PG6,PG7 pins, not PH0,PH1 pins. So, to modify the configurations without adding uart3 overlay in the /boot/armbianEnv.txt file, I wanted to edit the /boot/dtb/sun7i-a20-bananapi-m1-plus.dtb file. When I check the file, there are uart3_pins_a option and uart3_pins …

  8. Hi, I have 3 Orange Pi Zero running with the same sd image. It's all working fine, but yesterday I added a fourth device, which for some reason took a MAC address that is the same of another device, causing issues on the connection for both of them. I'm using the mainline kernel ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi. Searching on the internet, I found someone saying that mac addresses for Orange Pis are randomly generated every time the device reboots, but in my case the taken MAC address is always the same for every device. 9. Hi everyone, I'd like to ask and confirm: is there any working HDMI method with proper resolution currently for the Pi+2E, as of 5.59? I'm asking because I have tried next, I have tried dev, and I have tried the legacy kernel. None of them gave any satisfactory result at all. Mainline Kernel 4.14 -- There is HDMI graphics, but the resolution is stuck to no more than 1024x768. I read many times that this is the case when the HDMI was not detected. Kernel 4.18 -- Same thing as for 4.14. Though, as far as I know, the 4.17 should have support for HDMI. Has HDMI for H3 really landed in 4.17, or have I read wrong all over the place? …

  19. Hello everyone, I am encountering problem with pulseaudio on Bananapi M1. I don't want the board to suspend speakers on idle. As Pulseaudio is used I simply commented this line: ``` ### Automatically suspend sinks/sources that become idle for too long #load-module module-suspend-on-idle `` in `/etc/pulse/default.pa`. The problem is that if I play something e.g. raspotify I dont hear the sound anymore. As soon I keep raspotify playing and restart Pulseaudio (killall pulseaudio) the sound is back again. If I pause music I lose sound again and need to kill pulseaudio. Does anybody encounter same thing?

Armbian 22.11.1 Bullseye with Linux 5.15.80-sunxi on a banana pi m1 I've connected a lipo battery to my bpi m1, and now when I try to shutdown -h 0, it ends up in a kernel panic and instead of shutting down it remains powered up. 31. Hi guys, I was running my Orange Pi Zero Plus perfectly on the dev channel but I did an apt upgrade the other day and it seems to have broken something. I hooked it up to a usb serial device and here's the log: https://pastebin.com/jiB9TZdh Any ideas on how I can fix this? I can interrupt the boot process and I get to a screen where I can run limited commands but I'm not sure what to do at that point. I'm thinking it might be easier to just reflash and start again. This post is mainly for the devs to let them know there might be an issue with one of the kernels? Cheers.

Initially I attempted upgrading the kernel from 6.1.26 to 6.1.33 using the build scripts to generate the newer kernel and headers. After rebooting I found that the system just appeared to hang around starting kernel. I did wait 10 minutes at first, thinking that perhaps their maybe some stuff going on in the background but after that conclude that it had most certainly crashed. The frustrating thing being that I did not appear to get any errors come through the debug port. At this point I assumed that perhaps something may have broke during the upgrade. My second attempt was using a completely fresh compiled image but unfortunately the result was still the same. …

We are looking for a way to update the devices "offline" / with no user interaction. We can upload data to the devices via FTP and also can execute shell scripts. We can not easily access the on-board micro SD slot but have an external SD-Slot / USB-A Port with lots of free memory on each device. Any hints or explanations are very welcome!

Of course this is a problem of my tv, because I have the same problem when I use it as monitor for my PC, but there I can set the underscan through nvidia setting. So, How can I set up the overscan/underscan to see all the desktop on 720p? (using h3disp and set 576p doesn't work, I have "no signal" on tv) thank you in advance

  61. Hi, I have found a problem when I reboot my NanoPi Neo, related to WiFi + BL device which is plugged in USB 2.0 port. The WiFi device is a Realtek 8821cu and system loads driver correctly when I do a cold boot or if I hot-plug it, but it fails in a warm boot. After doing many tests, I realized that if I plug the WiFI dongle in a non-powered USB 2.0 hub and I connect this latter to the NanoPi Neo's USB 2.0 port, then it also works. I don't have anymore idea to solve it. The 8821cu driver fails because WiFi device shows itself like powered down.

  65. Platform oPi Plus 2E with Armbian 5.31 (Legacy). I have configured a WiFi adaptor, and it works fine in connecting to an existing hotspot. When I attempt to use network manager applet (or nm-connection-editor/nmtui from a root prompt) to create an Ad-hoc network I am getting permissions errors. For NM TUI it is 'Unable to save connection: Insufficient privileges.', and similar for the other methods. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to diagnose and/or fix this? From the research I have done the nm-applet error is likely a simple config error (not set up to run as root for this function), but the other avenues failures seem odd.

  66. Hi, I would like to run Armbian Stretch (mainline kernel 4.14.y) on Bananapi M1. Board has an issue - sd card detect pin is broken. In legacy kernel 3.4.y there was an easy workaround to change paramter sdc_detmode = 1 to sdc_detmode = 3 in /boot/script.bin file. How would I do this on 4.14 kernel which as I understand doesn't use script.bin anymore? I setup Virtualbox with Ubuntu 18.04 and I can compile image with default options. I only need guidance in what parameter and in which file to change.

  76. Hello After spending hours of trying to create an older DEV kernel (5.1.21) here are the following steps in order that it will work. I will describle here about the 5.1.21 kernel but I think it can work for any kernel. 1. create lib.config file under build/userpatches with the following: KERNELBRANCH='branch:orange-pi-5.1' 2. And this is what create the magic: download the Armbian files that matches that distribution and replace all the files in the build directory: for example I have downloaded from here - This link is the build version from the branch of the 5.1.: https://github.com/FireflyTeam/armbian-build/tree/e…

  89. Hi, after I made a software-update for my Cubitruck last week, my VGA monitor shows text only up to "starting kernel", then turns black. HDMI still works. I tried to reinstall the newest versions of both Ubuntu Bionic and Debian Stretch, both show this problem. The old VGA monitor is used only for maintenance work on my home server and off most of the time, it would be a shame if I had to buy a new HDMI monitor for this purpose. What is going on? Thanks Engelbert

  90. Hello, I have a problem on my orange pi 3 lts. Namely, I have armbian 23.03 Jammy Xfce installed and on some screens it shows normally, on others the image does not appear. I also tried using the Uart converter and it loads everything normally, but then the following message starts appearing every second. [ 161.905394] panfrost 1800000.gpu: js fault, js=0, status=INSTR_INVALID_PC, head=0xa005bc0, tail=0xa005bc0

  93. Hi everyone! I wonder if modifying the "fbdev" driver to use Mali GPU to improve gaming performance is possible. I enabled `gpu` dtb, but according to "glxinfo -B" it uses "Device: llvmpipe, Accelerated: no". I'm curious if this can be improved somehow. BTW I found this old commit for Odroid C2: link

  94. Hello, is the last BPi Vanilla wheezy image somewhere still available for download? I want to run it with Open Media Vault, which still needs wheezy. Thanks a lot. Michael

  96. Hello, on a fresh install (Armbian_22.08.1_Orangepi3_jammy_current_5.15.63), the ethernet eth0 interface doesn't retrieve any IP. Here comes the kernel ethernet related messages: After that, I have launched a dhclient command that took several minutes to stop. Then, an APIPA address is attributed to eth0 nterface. So I have launched armbian-config to set the eth0 to static. And it worked. But how to make DHCP works? Thank you PS all others devices on my network can retrieve an IP by DHCP. I also tried others OS on my Orange Pi 3 boards and the…

  98. Can any one port the driver for ms5611 from kernel4.x to 3.4.39? I am using the sensor on olimex a20 micro 4Gb. I need it to use it in Android. I am willing to pay for porting.

  99. Orange Pi Lite - Armbian 5.14 The desktop shutdown (or shutdown -h now) shuts down the desktop, the system starts shutting down, then the desktop starts again, then disappears and the system shuts down. Its not a disastrous problem, but just annoying. I've traced it to the fact that 'nodm' is seeing the desktop stop, and then restarting it. Apparently either 'nodm' isn't getting the shutdown signal, or ignoring it, or getting it too late. Any guidance on what 'nodm' config, or some other config might help me to fix this? /K

  100. Started by Maor545,

I was configuring onboard wifi of OPI ZERO, rev. 1.1 with the provided tool armbian-config. On one board it went just OK, on the second it froze, so I manualy powercycled the board. After that the board does not boot. I connected the serial console and here is the output I got: U-Boot SPL 2017.09-armbian (Nov 20 2017 - 02:53:16) DRAM: This is my first time troubling with u-boot, so I have no idea what this means, but it should give me more output. I will try to look, if there is 1.5V at the 1_5V pad.
