Hello dear members, I have built complete mainkernel on orange pi zero. I compiled u-boot, busybox, mainline kernel, and obtained dtb file. So, my pure system is running now. But, I do not how should I continue? For example, how can use wi-fi, how can use gpio drivers and how can import some libs like wiring pi to my pure system. What is next for development? Best Regards.

  4. Hi. I would like to know if someone can help me. I was successfully able to compile armbian 6.6.30 with all of @Stephen Graf patches for my orangepi zero 3 having Full Audio working even on HDMI. see below for reference. Now I have a 2nd project. It runs the h616 with 2GB DDR3 RAM with AXP313. Can someone help me with a patch for the AXP313 on h616. Or alternatively, could my h618 orangepi zero 3 setup work if I patch it to run with DDR3? If so where can I find such a patch. Thanks in advance.

As the title says, my OpiPC don't want to boot. It starts to boot, with UART console I can see u-boot loading and doing its job, but just when it would start the kernel the console gets borked with non-ascii characters. After this, the board just hangs there. I've tested with 3 different images (written out by Etcher), checked the images checksum and checked the SDcard with F3. This setup worked fine a month ago, when I last had the time to play with it. Since than, the board was just lying on my desk, turned off.

  6. Hello, everyone. I searched long time to run cocos2d on Armbian_5.38_Orangepizeroplus2-h3_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop. Now it run but very slow because device is orange pi zero plus 2 (mini com like arm). when build project, it automatically works for desktop with opengl. We already compile & run new cocos2d-x-3.15.1 cpp project on Armbian. FPS is 30. If we make this project work on opengles, fps will rise. Have you got issue? I guess if i change this to opengl es then speed will be ok. Because on Android on same device, apk's fps is 60. Please help me.

I have the edited "sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb" from Armbian Jessie 4.11.5 which is mainly for the board. May I know is there a way to incorporated the "Armbian Jessie 4.11.5's sun7i-a20-olinuxino-lime.dtb into the A20 Armbian Stretch 4.14.84 so that the 2 LEDs will work again? 8. I've seen this question asked quite frequently here and all the posts end before there is a solution. I think it's time we had a crystal clear discussion on how it can be done. Not just for my curiosity, but for the people who've asked before and for the people who will ask in the future. The reason: Many hats/shields designed for RaspberryPi would otherwise be compatible with OrangePi if Armbian/u-boot didn't direct the debug output to UART0. UART0 is the most commonly used serial connection for hats/shields designed for RaspberryPi. OrangePi has multiple UART gpio so it would make sense for the O.S. (Armbian) to use the one that least impacts the…

During the last days the system crashed twice - by crashed I mean that no SSH or other connections was possible and I had to force-power off. I used it for months without crashes before so its probably related to a new SATA drive. I wanted to look at the syslog and I noticed that /var/log/syslog only shows entries starting from the current boot and the /var/log.hdd/syslog is empty. Do I understand correctly that armbian logs only to /var/log which is a ram drive so the logs (or at least the syslog) is never persisted? How can I find out whether the SATA drive is responsible and why? Maybe it has a too high power consumption under special circumstan…

  39. So I'm pretty new at using serial ports in linux so not even sure if this is the right place. I'm playing around with MIDI using the serial ports on the Orange PiLite - it uses the baud rate of 31250 to achieve this you use setserial to get the base_baud (which it reports as 1500000) and you divide by the speed you want to get the divisor i.e. 1500000/31250 = 48 this becomes >setserial /dev/ttyS1 divisor 48 speed_cust So now when you use 38400 as your baud speed it actually becomes 31250.... ...in theory after some fiddling I found the divsor is actually 50 as 48 gives you weird results which would suggest that the base_baud is actually 1562…

Hi, I'm trying to create a DT overlay for my Cubietruck running 4.19.62 and I've placed it in /boot/overlay-user and changed the user_overlays entry in boot.scr to load it. It is being loaded but I'm getting FDT_ERR_NOTFOUND when trying to apply it. The overlay is meant to change the label and default-trigger entries for the four LEDs in the leds node. I'm using dtc 4.1.4 and it does compile this overlay. Can anybody tell me how I can change this overlay so it will work ? Or perhaps tell me if this is not possible. /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun7i-a20"; fragment@0 { target = <&leds>; …

Hello Folks, sorry for popping up here with a technical problem first thing - but I have some trouble. I have a circuit where an attenuator is connected to PA19. Sadly, the port seems to have a pull up which stays active even when I use wiringPi to set the port to input - in fact, even if I short the pin to low via my Keithley ammeter, it still shows up as high. 49. Hello, I have an OrangePi Zero H2 which until recently was running almost flawlessly with the Armbian_5.38_Debian_stretch_4_14_14 image. When I did a kernel upgrade using "apt-get dist-upgrade" (because I had earlier the error message ~"failed to Load Kernel Modules", and dist-upgrade was recommended), and this dist-upgrade failed inbetween (probably because of power consumption), the SD card was left in unbootable state. 91. I first noticed this on my Orange Pi Zero. The latest Armbian releases (4.13.x) have some kind of gap between bytes when transmitting over SPI. I have an SPI performance test built into my SPI_LCD code: https://github.com/bitbank2/SPI_LCD If you run the demo program, it measures how many frames per second it can write to an SPI-connected LCD. On older Armbian builds with kernel version 3.x, it would usually get 27-33FPS on the H2/H3 boards. With the mainline kernel builds and running the same code, I'm seeing 9-17FPS (depending on the board). The H5 doesn't seem to be affected (I'm using an Orange Pi Zero +2 H5 for testing also). Anyone else seeing…

  92. Problem was, that via same file /etc/rc.local was started dnsmasq which crashed and rc-local.service didn't continue with starting wvdial , Hello All, Could someone please help me to start command wvdial during booting-process? When I star wvdial command from command line, LTE USB modem is started and ppp0 interface is activated and everything works fine, but I want it to be started automatically during booting-process. I tried add wvdial to end of file /etc/rc.local, but wasn't successful. I also tried to add record to file /etc/network/interfaces as: auto ppp0 iface ppp0 inet wvdial None of these mentioned above helped.…

  93. When i first tried out my orange pi prime in october 2020 i thought i recalled that the wifi worked. With a current armbian image, the wifi can't authenticate. I tried several of the available kernel images. I'm sure that the wpa2 password is correct because I control the router and other devices connect all the time. If i plug in an ath9x usb wifi dongle, that is able to connect, so it would appear to be an issue with the onboard rtl8723bs driver.

I noticed that the Nano Pi Neo has a pin or 2 labeled 3.3V out. How much current is available from this source? I have a CODEC and a few other things that need 3.3V power. I need to know what the 3.3V output can deliver safely, or if I should just add my own 3.3 regulator for the external circuitry.

Greetings. For anyone interested FriendlyArm have a Github repo which contains a working AW CSI driver. and has device tree files for NanoPi M1+ and Neo Air. See https://github.com/friendlyarm/linux.git. The branch is sunxi-4.16.y This is a work in progress but the setup is vastly simplified compared to the VFE subsystem in the 3.4/3.10 kernels. The OV5640 driver does produce video but I'm getting some odd images at the moment. Possibly colorspace related. As a bonus USB OTG is also working ... fa@FriendlyELEC:~/src$ v4l2-compliance Driver Info: Driver name : sun6i-video Card type : sun6i-csi Bus i[593…

  97. I met a problem that kernel showed allwiner H6 ethernet internal error. link: It is hard to loacate what makes that error occur, I wish that kernel can show my log added to drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac-sun8i.c. my work below: 1 Added printk to drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac-sun8i.c, and made patch with git format-patch, move patch to userpatchs/kernel/sunxi-next. 2 run ./compile.sh to compile armbian, I am sure that patch work, have checked drivers/net/ethernet/stmicro/stmmac/dwmac-sun8i.c after compile.sh completion 3 burn Armbian_5.71_Orangepioneplus_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.19.13_desktop.img to sdca…

Hello all, If i detach battery all works ok. With attached battery system reboots instead of shutting down. Anyone experiencing this issue again with 5.4.21 kernel? Is there a workaround to solve it, maybe in u-boot or somewhere else? Armbian 20.05.0-trunk built from source Thank you

  99. I recently bought an Orange Pi Lite and installed Armbian on it. Everything works fine except I can't write to USB drive. I'm not logged in as root. USB mounts automatically but other users can't seem to write to it. I searched this issue on the internet but could not figure out how to change permission as this is the first time I'm using a Linux machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below is what I see when I open up USB properties. Thank you.
