  1. Hi, I'm here again, the quarantine is almost over (sadly 'cause here in italy we are a bunch of a****le) and I finally get rid of my kodi 17 on retrorangepi 4.2 (old) that give me a lot of problems (with wifi connection lost, scraper that didn't update, and freeze, not for sure a problem with retrorangepi itself). so... I have something in my mind now that I'm back to home with my new FTTH internet connection. I want to setup an armbian image with or withot desktop for octoprint Armbian with 5.4 kernel (xfce debian) is really slow and temperature (with heatsink) don't go under 60°C on idle, with retrorangepi based on Debian Jessie, temps go…

  4. Hello! Brand new user here to the NanoPi Neo and even the forum. I'm planning to use a NanoPi Neo as hardware "interactor", the main idea is to connect a NanoPi Neo to a smartphone (Android or iOS), power the board from the USB cable and work in Host Mode to interact with de smartphone with libimobiledevice or adb. OTG does not support charging + data at the same time without a "special" OTG adapter. What I want to do is power the NanoPi by using the smartphone and even interact with it in host mode, like a regular computer will do, in simple terms, using a single cable, but getting power from it. Is this possible using NanoPi microUSB+OT…

I saw it already in 2014 I think when I bought my Pcduino 3 Version A but I wasn't sure back there if this project was for real. Im trying to keep it as clean as possible and dont want to have the OTG connection for power. Is the regulator only on the OTG? I successfully installed Armbian 20.08.1 to eMMC, and it works fine. Now, I want to try Raspberry OS (I'm told that it works?) but regardless of what I put on my uSD card (I've tried several OS's) - when rebooting the OPi 3+, it always comes up with the eMMC Armbian load. In researching this, I read over and over that the uSD card always has priority over the eMMC. Is this still true with the current version of Armbian? What could explain the behavior I'm seeing? I tried the Install to/update booth loader, both option, with no change in behavior. Any thoughts?

  49. Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I decided to test a bunch of PCDuino3 images. Hopefully this will be helpful for someone. Feel free to double-check my work. 3.X kernels work perfect. 4.11-4.14 no HDMI Audio 4.19-5.8 there's a bug where the console won't show up if you connect a high resolution screen. It complains about not enough memory reserved for the frame buffer. So if you have a blank screen, it's possibly working, but you just can't see anything. Also, still no HDMI audio even though it's built into the kernel. 5.9-current hangs at "Starting Kernel" showing in the serial port.

  54. Hello everybody, I'm new in armbian and Cubietruck. It looks to me that bluetooth is installed but if I scan for devices no devices will be found. I have the impression that something is wrong with the driver installation. I used the file image "Armbian_community_24.11.0-trunk.130_Cubietruck_noble_current_6.6.44_xfce_desktop.img.xz" for installation. Any help would be appreciated. Best regards Albrecht

  56. Hi Armbians In the last years I had the pleasure to have more then 30 Cubietruck boards in my hands to work with. Condition of the boards ranged from "new and still sealed" to "working but has been running for some months 24/7 alraedy". In this time, I learned a lot about this hardware and I learned that none of them seems to be 100% like any other of them. While one board crushes immediately when the power input goes under 5V for some secounds, another board in the same condition, same CT version and production date seems not to care about this and keeps working. One of the most important points for stability is the network plug used. So what netwo…

  61. Happy New Years, I tried an LXDE ssh "MobaXterm" session with Chromium on my Orange Pi Zero 512mb. Surprised it worked however the laggy browser page scroll and javascript animations (appearing as a really slow vsync wave top to down), does that reflect real world performance when outputting to say hdmi? This Orange Pi has no immediate way to output to my tv so could not test otherwise. Is there any video hardware acceleration being used (mainline kernel Armbian) using this method? As maybe the lack thereof is the cause of lag, along with network overheads etc. Regards, Rollmeister

After updating the crypttab file I ran update-initramfs -u. But after reboot the drive is still locked. Why is this? I suspect it might be because of the order of things at boot. Maybe crypttab is called before the USB device is initialized? Any help would be appreciated. Edit: I had a incorrect crypttab that's why it didn't mount. It works now thanks!
