  1. Hi guys, I wonder if someone could point me in the proper direction, got stuck with DosBox performance for several days already( Orange Pi+2e, legacy Mali supported (AFAIK) Ubuntu image, DosBox 0.74 and old good DOS games like C&C, Doom, UFO, Red Alert etc. I have tried all reasonable settings combinations in DosBox config - output, render, scaling, all with no good - performance almost isn't playable even with normal2x scaling( I was quite sure that legacy image should provide to DosBox some standard interface for hardware rendering/scaling support (with opengl, probably), but it seems to be wrong. Or the problem is on DosBox side? Do I expec…

Hi all, first of all, I'm new to this forum even if I've been using Armbian on my Olimex Lime2 since lot of time and I find it a great project; thanks and keep up the good work! Now: I would like to use the Lime2 SPI #2 on pins "b" in master mode to communicate with a single slave device. What I did was: 1) downloaded Armbian v5.31 (latest available release at the time I write) 2) following the guide at https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Allwinner_overlays/ I modified /boot/armbianEnv.txt to contain: verbosity=1 logo=disabled console=both disp_mode=1920x1080p60 overlay_prefix=sun7i-a20 rootdev=UUID=8cf9ed72-8225-4db8-a3a2-a242d648d…

  3. This is not to demand the devs to make the board work, I know your quite hang up on maintaining Armbian and the massive collection of boards. But I searched the forum to see if I could find it, and didn't find anything. So yeah well here is the thread about this board, in case others do a forum search. The board looks promising, but it would have been great with emmc on it, somehow they just cant get it right with these boards And if or when you need something testet, I'll be happy to help. 4. Hello, I'm a bit confused about the documentation, to be precise the hardware notes > Allwinner Generic > reconfigure video output part. It lists various options regarding video output. Then it states Now I see, inside boot, a "armbianEnv.txt" and the mentioned "boot.cmd". However, the default boot.cmd doesn't contain a saveenv line. Also, the head of the boot.cmd clearly states Can someone lighten me up on the relationship between the files armbianEnv.txt and boot.cmd, and why I should/shouldn't edit boot.cmd? I'm running the mainline kernel on a Banani Pi Pro, if this is relevant. Thanks in advance

What to write? Thanks

  7. I'm a newbie and I cannot solve this issue... by typing tail -f / var/log/mail.log after some hours working the tail is not updating anymore.. to solve I have to: delete mail.log file create new mail.log file chmod a+w /var/log/mail* service syslog restart service postfix restart but again in few hours tail -f stop updating incoming events. Moreover, if I try with tail -f / var/log/syslog or tail -f / var/log/ufw.log the same result Any suggestion is highly appreciated..

  14. Hello After a couple of years, I took my "ancient" OrangePi board and found it working well with Ubuntu 18.04 (kernel 3.14.113). And I even did distr update to 20.04. So HW is ok. I found that Armibian support status of OrangiPi is changed to "Supported" and decided to try the latest image with modern kernel "Armbian_21.02.1_Bananapi_focal_current_5.10.12_desktop.img.xz" (shared image between OrangePi and BananaPi). XFCE desktop was loaded but USB was not working. And that was the known mismatch between OrangePi and BananaPi HW conguration. So I updated "/boot/armbianEnv.txt" with "fdtfile=sun7i-a20-orangepi.dtb". But after that video became OFF…

  15. Good afternoon. I don't know how to solve a small problem. There is Orange Pi Lite. It runs its own program. The program uses spi-dev and display. You need to compile drivers for the network card. And then a problem arose. I cannot install linux-headers-current-sunxi on a working distribution (the latest one available on the website Armbian_23.02.2 5.15.93 ). And if you set “Community maintained”, then it is impossible to enable spi-dev and the display (Arbian-Config is missing in the repository) How to solve this problem?

  16. Hello! I've downloaded the current images for BananaPi M1 offered in the site, as "Community Maintained" builds, but none of them is capable of producing video output from HDMI nor composite video. Both the Ubuntu jammy and Debian12 versions lose the video output as soon as the kernel starts to load, after the u-boot screen. I tried the desktop and server images, without any luck. With the older 5.x kernel, the ubuntu-jammy image that I've downloaded before loads fine. I know it's an old board, but it still gives me some amusement time tinkering with it and playing retro games. Anyone experiencing the same problem? Thanks!

My Opi3 has been running armbian for over 2 years (edge kernels & usually fully up-to-date). I have been using eMMC & I noticed an apparent slowdown about 6 months ago. As it performs cron-based tasks and is a stats collector, this performance was not noticable but doing a manual BIG dist-upgrade, it seems to take forever (20 minutes to do what should be under 5 minutes). If I run "mmc extcsd read /dev/mmcblk1", the results tell me that the eMMC is at least 90% used whatever that really means. Is this a sign of imminent failure ? hdparm shows read results of 17 MB/s which is actually slower than my alternative SD card boot device and nearly 1/10th …

  42. What is the max current that the Orange Pi Plus (or other boards) can output for USB devices? Assume there is a high quality 3A power supply. For example, on Raspberry Pi it is documented here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/help/faqs/#powerReqs Note that the output amount is configurable on RPi (you must manually enable 1.2A output) - is there anything similar for OPi? Here is what needs to be changed in the boot config on an Rpi to change the power from 6mA to 1.2A: http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#USB_Power Thank you!

I'm porting a library that interfaces to a DS3232 or DS3231 real-time-clock chip from Arduino and have used the initialisation sequence from the example in the WiringOP librar…

  45. Hi all, I've been using the A20-Lime2 together with Armbian for about two years now and I love the effort that the developers and the community have put into this amazing product. Until not too long ago I was on Debian 8 (jessie) on the legacy kernel for webcam compatibility reasons (after having tried switching to mainline from time to time). With the release of Debian 9 I finally had everything that I was looking for in the mainline kernel so I decided to upgrade to Debian 9 and then switch to the mainline kernel. I'm currently on ARMBIAN 5.38 stable with 4.14.15-sunxi and just had to force a reboot. The server I'm running is mainly a webserver, …

  46. I've just asked this question on the UNIX StackExchange - but I am hoping that the Armbian wizards may have a better idea on what is happening. The setup: - Machine 1 is an Arch Linux laptop, on which `ssh` is spawned, connecting to an Armbian-running SBC (an Orange PI Zero). - The SBC itself is connected via Ethernet to a DSL router, and has an IP of 192.168.1.150 - The laptop is connected to the router over WiFi. - There's also another laptop (Machine 2) connected via Ethernet to the DSL router. When benchmarked with `iperf3`, the link between the laptop and the SBC is less than the theoretical 56 MBits/sec - as expected, since …

  53. Good afternoon. The problem is indicated in the title. The computer is connected to my monitor via HDMI and the screen resolution is only 1024x768. Which is inconvenient to use. 54. Hi you all. I'm trying for a couple of day now to solve an annoying problem with the USB and some Bananapi M2 zeros. I have two cluster-hats with 4 Bananapi M2 zeros as nodes. The cluster hat presents itself as a USB gadget (USB ethernet interface) to the nodes allowing networking between the controller and the nodes. The nodes work fine with kernel 5.9.8, the modules identify the hat as a network interface and everything works as expected. My trouble is that I'm creating new images for the nodes (bananapi m2 zero) from here, the nodes boots, but it seems like the OTG port is not behaving as expected. Followed instructions from these posts:…

  66. I have two Orange PI +2E machines. The first one I got was a while ago so it's running a 3.4.113 kernel (16.04), the more recent one I purchased is running 4.19.13 kernel (18.04) - both are Ubuntu Armbian. I've noticed when I use the "shutdown now" command on the older pi, the board actually powers off but when I use the same command on the newer kernel board, it never powers down. The newer board appears to stop all services and eventually report that the system is halted but it remains in that state. Is there a way to enable it to power off after a "shutdown now" is issued? I'm wondering if this is a kernel difference but it may be something else completely. …

  94. Board OrangePi+2E, Debian on SD was configured/tested, then nand-instaled to eMMC. Worked as Nextcloud headless server like a charm for more than year (thanks Armbian once again), but suddenly got stuck in boot with quite strange simptoms (read on attacched for exploration HDMI): couple of "sunxi_i2c_do_xfer incomplete xfer" errors /swap creation takes ~100 seconds then complete hang on Ethernet init The only thing I can suspect is some corruption in filesystem(s) on eMMC, but I see no chance to investigate this further as boot from it hangs completely. Fresh SD with mainline Debian boots and works with no issues, so the rest of the …

  96. Hi, I have ten orange-pi pc plus with Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS with Linux 5.10.43-sunxi burned onto emmc, and twenty orange-pi pc plus with Focal 21.05.6 with Linux 5.10.43-sunxi burned onto emmc. In an attempt to provoke the same issues we have with Xenial on these boxes, I have all of them rebooting (shutdown -r now) once every 10 minutes. They have all been under test for several days. They are all connected to a LAN backbone, but the LAN is not connected to the internet, so whilst they may be attempting to do unattended upgrades, for example, they are all failing. This is a deliberate part of the test. Of the twenty Focal 21 boxes none have failed. …

Hi, Firstly I wanted to say thanks for providing builds for the Cubietruck, however unsupported they are. Current build is working after I fixed up the repository and the wired network configuration - learnt a fair amount in one afternoon! Secondly, is it possible using armbian-config to switch to stable repository and a stable kernel and reasonably expect it to still work? Many thanks,

  98. I've had an Orange Pi 3 LTS for a couple of months now. I bought it for use as a home theater tv box. I thought I'd use the official orange pi ubuntu release, but it turned out to be really outdated and broken. So I have been trying to get Armbian to work. After a lot of troubleshooting and time spent reading docs and forums, I can't get the thing to play video properly. It plays but is terrible quality and stutters constantly. I've determined that panfrost is working. In orangepi-config, under Hardware, it says the GPU is enabled. But when I run glmark2 I get a score of 100 or less no matter what I do. I've tried old builds of armbian for the pi 3 lts and the…

dear All. I need CAN-BUS on my cubie2. I Found that I can reach it via PH20-PH21 Mux-4 and fortunately they are maped to extention port. So I made FEX modification like : [can_para] can_used = 1 can_tx = port:PH20<4><default><default><default> can_rx = port:PH21<4><default><default><default> Currently my board run with --> 3.4.107-cubietruck I found a banananian guy post ( http://www.lemaker.org/thread-13107-1-1.html ) a tutorial on how he make it for his BananaPI board. I tried to follow his step, but skip steps about uImage and firmware .. since I don't know how to adapt it to Armbian. when the proses complete…
