  3. just curious if there's a quick way to manipulate an existing Armbian build to have separate /boot and / partitions on my SD card, without needing to setup an Ubuntu build environment to compile everything myself. It's really the only thing I'd want to change about the pre-built image, and would like to avoid setting up the Ubuntu build box if I can. Thanks!

Hello, I am new to armbian and am quite impressed of the ease of installation and use. I copied the vanilla headless Debian jessy to a spare SD and the board booted right away. So first of all, many thanks to the developers! I rely on GPIO for my application of the board, so I first tested the export of a GPIO. Normally, the kernel from Olimex gives me something like "gpio64_pg0", which is not very compatible to the programs out in the internet (e.g. OpenHAB.org which I use), so – with this kernel – I was happy to get a standard "gpio1" when echoing "1" to "export". But as soon as I tried to change the direction echo out > gpio1/direction the whole board…

Hello. I'm having trouble with infrared receiver. Whether the sunxi_cir driver installed in kernel or not, there is nothing in /dev/input except "event0", which is the power controller. Dmesg doesn't show anything neither. Version: Armbian 4.5 Lamobo-r1 Debian jessie next (unofficial), kernel 4.2.3. IR support was declared on download web page, so I decided to get vanilla kernel. That's because I had already tried Bananian with 3.18 kernel, and there were huge problems with kernel ppp (up to freezes of whole device). Has anybody encountered this problem?

  8. Hi, Thanks for the excellent distribution I noticed that in the hardwareinfo script there is no bananapipro result and when I boot new vanilla 4.5 Kernel the banana.dtb file is used instead of the bananapro.dtb As a result, no wifi, see also last two replies here for similar issue with M1: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/340-banana-pi-m1plus-no-wifi/?p=2138 Dirty Solution: hardcode loading bananapipro.dtb in boot.cmd. Wifi works This is result of "cat /proc/cpuinfo"

  12. Dear all, i just installed a fresh Armbian 4.5 Jessie with Vanilla kernel 4.2.3 on an SD card and booted it on a cubietruck. I did not receive any HDMI output. This did not change after a kernel update to 4.2.5 via apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and a reboot. However, the same cubietruck works flawlessly with Debian Wheezy (2.6 updated to 4.5) and kernel 3.4.110. I checked the boot.cmd script and looked into cubietruck.bin - the standard settings would appear to identify the correct (HD) display resolution and to enable HDMI by default. Do you have any recommendations ? Is there anyone experiencing the same problem ? With kind regards, Lupus …

  26. Hi. I'm a new user. I have a Banana PI M1+, that is connected to a monitor with maximum resolution of 1280x1024 and with only DVI port. I'm using Armbian_4.5_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_3.4.109, and I installed XFCE using tasksel. So I tried to install Armbian_4.5_Bananapi_Debian_jessie_3.4.109, but I have the same problem. I tried also to disable "Switch Off After" in the Display section of power management without success. Before installing this Armbian legacy kernel (3.4.109), I was using a Bananian-based image with OpenMediaVault (the so called BanaNAS image) and was getting regular 30MB/s transfer rates to my Samba shared hard drives (USB and SATA). My PC and Banana are connected through a gigabit switch, and working at 1Gbps. After installing and configuring the new Armbian image, I notice my transfer rates were now around ~23MB/s which was odd. After trying to change some smb.conf parameters and getting nowhere, I decided to test just the network performance by setting up a simple web server on my PC and doing a wget -O /dev/null http://<my PC-IP>/test.zip of 3Gb. The values …

The kernel that Debian usually provides (for x86/64) is a debblobed kernel, with no proprietary pieces. Is that the case with these ima…

Hi, I've read a previous topic about it but it was a bit inconclusive. My question is simple: can the OTG port be turned on on the legacy kernel? Is it just a matter of setting up the right bits in the script.bin/fex file? Or is it missing some other stuff? Currently I can use that port on Bananian. Since this board only has 2 USB ports, it's nice to be able to use the OTG port to connect a keyboard, since the other 2 ports have HDDs connected. Thanks and good work!!

The armbian can't start if gps connected to the uart port and vice versa - It starts with unpluged gps. Hello again, since I use the NAND-Flash to boot and I want to use the new kernel, which doesnt support NAND yet, I'm curious if its possible to use both: 1. Can I boot the new kernel from NAND? Since the new kernel is started after uboot, it should be possible? 2. Afterwards I have no possibility to update the kernel again. Or do I have? (Without SD-Card) a.) the nand-tools requires the nand-driver??? Or is there a possibility to writea prebuild image to nand without kernel-nand-support? b.) is it possible to start an old kernel from the new for upgrading? Tried "kexec uImage", but it doesnt work. Maybe I need the zImage instead of uImage? best regards
