  1. Hello there, I was looking at the gc2035 camera sensor for the orange pi device. I want the camera module to load as fast as possible and take pictures as fast as possible. When I use a USB camera, it takes 2-3 seconds to load the module and activate the camera, and the camera takes 2 seconds. I'm thinking of compiling the GC2035 camera statically to the linux kernel. But I'm not sure how much time decrease. What I would like to know is, how fast is the camera taking pictures and how long is the loading time of the camera modules? Can I take pictures under 200 ms with the camera triggered? The Raspifastcamd module allows …

  4. Hi all, I have prepared a c++ app on a VM Ubuntu desktop and need to transfer it and test it on Cubietruck Cubieboard3. Apart from the default code I also link my c++ app to extrenal shared libraries , like poco and boost. Since I'm quite new on embedded systems and boards especially, if I choose to boot the Ubuntu desktop version armbian is offering, do I have to build these external libraries from scratch? Thanks in advance

  7. Hey All, I moved my armbian OS from OPI H5 Zero Plus2 to OPI H5 Zero Plus (the one with the LAN), the WiFi is working perfectly but the LAN is not recognized, nor i can find any sign on dmesg or boot (but its there, i see it). ifconfig and ifconfig -a show only the "wlan0" and "lo". I am using ARMBIAN 5.64.181015 nightly Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS 4.14.76-sunxi64 with (armbian-config for Zero Plus 2) As it took me pretty much time to spin-up the OS, i would like to avoid burning a new OS. Is there a way to activate it or add/build it drivers? Many thanks

Hi - is there anywhere a working guide to create a Wifi Access Point with this board ? I have tried the official debian ISO from orange pi and doing so with create_ap is very easy. I'd like to use armbian instead but using the "Minimal / IOT image with Armbian Linux v6.6" (bookworm) all I get is hell: I installed network-manager and armbian-config then used the later to try the hotspot configuration but then (several freezes and reboots after) it complains that "Unit hostapd.service is masked" and when I solve that, then dnsmasq fails and I see no helpful error message. We have deployed the zero for an integrated MCU on one of our products, and in rare occasions we are experience random lockups of the MCU (possibly related to overheating). Its pretty much impossible to debug this since it happens very rarely, but we are trying to mitigate all possible causes. The MCU is controlling a bigger and more expensive board and a fan. If there are internal failsafes that are being triggered by the MCU and locking it up (like temp) we want to disable as many of them as possible (we would rather have the MCU burn up than our main board). Anyone have any insights on orange pi zero OTP or OCP in kernel or uboot parameters we can disable?

Hi Everyone, Is there anything additional required to enable better performance improvements (kernel patch for TXTS and RXTS are set to 3 each see below link) on a Banana PI running Armbian V21 / V22 ? I have updated the bootloader, and OS, and the performance is still abysmally poor. Mechanical or SSD drive connected to on board SATA yields a whopping 2.7-10 MB/sec write speed using dd with a large block size, or with the iozone tool ~5 upto ~45 for larger block sizes. Still a very far cry from the ~120 after the kernel patch applied in ~2019 => https://forum.armbian.com/topic/10352-a20-sata-write-speed-improvement/ …

My problem is I am unable to download an operating system to my working raspberry to burn to an sd card to be able to use the orange because the raspberry doesn't have enough space on my memory card. Do any of you know a company or person that could sell me an o/s that is already on a card for the orange, I have been hunting for ages for a site that sells something like noops for the raspberry. I have read that armbian edge might be the right choice if i can get it. Any help appreciated.

  50. I'm using a NanoPI NEO (v1.31 Lite, 512M RAM) which has an Allwinner H3 cpu; running Armbian Stretch from here: https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/ When changing the init system from the default systemd to sysV init as described at http://without-systemd.org/wiki/index.php/How_to_remove_systemd_from_a_Debian_Stretch_installation on the next boot, the boot process freezes. Installing the package sysvinit-core conflicts with systemd-sysv, depending on which resolution I choose (install systemd-shim and some libraries, or remove systemd-sysv and NetworkManager), the boot process freezes at one of the following 3 lines: [....] Starti…

No additional peripherals. It looks like the system is running (based on the Ethernet), but HDMI isn't displaying (the monitor says no signal). I'm able to connect over ssh.

But I want to keep running it in a loop and doing fdisk -l and grep doesn't seems an appropriate way. Can the insertion or removal of SD cards be checked via Hardware Interrupts? Plz. help me I am a newbie.

  57. Armbianmonitor: http://ix.io/2g5I I recently started playing around with OrangePi Zero with the Allwinner H2+ CPU. I want to test out the internal audio DAC. To do so I enabled "analog-coded" in armbian-config. After rebooting I saw a new audio device in the output of "pacmd list-cards", but it says that only mono is available. How can I configure stereo sound? I haven't played around with "/etc/asound.conf" much as I don't understand it. Also, I don't have anything plugged into the audio pins on the GPIO.

I decided to defer the problem, but it is now more pressing. Thanks in advance for info and advice. Regards, Charlie

I have tried to configure it with yaml files and manually with networkd and with static ip. I also tried to run dhcp on that interface and it received random ip outside of my network. Had no luck with network-manager either, it threw an error "ip configuration could not be reserved" With desktop image ethernet worked with no problem. So maybe there's a driver issue?

We are several users of this system to encounter the same problems. In logs, date is 1970, so we suspect a time synchronization problem. We use timedatectl for ntp synchronization, but it appears that rtc clock (fake clock) is not stable. Why? Any solution to keep rtc clock synchronous with ntp? Somes members of Jeedom community try with hardware RTC clock on I2C, and it seems working. But any existing other solutions? Thanks.
