  2. Hi everyone, I am having issues with video output on my A20-micro when using legacy kernel. I get the proper output from uboot, but when it starts to load the kernel, I get some garbage on the screen, then nothing. I had a look through the forums to no avail. My boot logs are uploaded to http://sprunge.us/dGhS From what I see, the default kernel command line seems to be correct for my purpose. The system is up and running as I can login through serial and SSH. I tried setting the resolution with a10disp but I got the following response: "Cannot change HDMI mode because HDMI is not enabled." Anyone has a clue on what I am missing ? Than…

  10. Hello, My BananaPi board doesn't boot after apt update & apt upgrade. I didn't have any problems until now. At first I suspected it could be the SD card as it seemed to me the "server" was slower on authentication but the SD card looks ok. There were some errors when reading it via gdisk but f3 didn't find any problems. So I copied the newest downloadable image onto it. It worked again until the upgrade. What can I do to restore the functionality? Is there any known problem with last upgrade?I update the system quite usually so the change that could be responsible for this shouldn't be more than a month old. I even tried to use the direct attach…

    EDIT: This seems to be a problem with the OS running on the Mikrotik router. See this thread for a work-around that "shouldn't make a difference". Hi! I've got some trouble with u-boot on an Orange Pi PC+ connecting to a Mikrotik router RB922UAGS-5HPacD, and I'm not sure where I should start digging. Here is what I have so far: Orange Pi PC+ with u-boot 2017.11-armbian installed on eMMC by running nand-sata-install. But instead of booting from eMMC, I'd like to fetch the kernel via tftp, so I modified the bootcmd accordingly. The relevant configuration / commands are: setenv ipaddr 192.168.3.74 setenv serverip 192.168.3.7…

  12. I'm running some stress test on the NanoPi neo2 512mb, CPU heating reached 75-76 degrees, and it's stable, the problem that I faced is that the computer changed it's IP suddenly (after 55 minutes of test running), I guess it's because of a network card reset. Did anyone face the following issue? Is it related to the stress test? Or it's another networking problem? The test I'm running is with the "stress" tool, running long time stress on 4 CPUs. In addition, does anyone have any insights regarding this device? good or bad?

    I've upgraded to 5.20 from 5.17 and I've had to modify my /boot/bin/micro.bin to activate the VGA output. After Upgraded the board didn't reactivate the VGA, and I've to do it manually. Maybe some warning in the changelog will be an help to those have to do such modifications. The upgrade process copied the bin dir to bin.old. I have to apply "sudo apt-get upgrade" twice as the first run complain about come conflicting files and abort the upgrade, the second run did the job. I'm running legacy debian Jessie image and upgraded from 5.17 to 5.20. Now it seem to work well.

  30. Hi, Today I encountered for the second time a strange behavior on my Orange Pi PC running Armbian 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi and decided to ask here. The GPIO pins of RX,TX,RTS and CTS of uart 1 based on this documentation (http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/Mini_Shield_for_NanoPi_NEO_Core/Core2) are G6,G7,G8 and G9. And if possible I'd like to read an analog voltage from the H5's built in ADC. Now that I've looked deeper into BakeBit, it seems like the entire purpose of BakeBit is to do GPIO with an Arduino, and read the information remotely on a RbPi/NanoPi or whatever ON the Arduino's GPIO pins. If that is really what BakeBit is, then BakeBit doesn't interest me. The H5 already has GPIO and an ADC. We just need to get that working. For interest's sake, here is the progress I made with BakeBit. ADC Python example in Bakebit h…

The board undergoes a complete shut down procedure. I checked the log entries in /var/log/syslog log file. There is a entry of board going to shut down but I couldn't find the reason for shut down. 48. Hello, I'm using Armbian Xenial with ethernet on my local network. SSH and PostgreSQL seem to disconnect a lot. This is really frustrating with sshfs when I try to work with files on the Orange Pi Zero as a file server.. I tried setting a keepalive every second and that doesn't help either. I don't see anything in the logs that hints to anything. I have not attempted to use wifi. I did just notice the timezone was wrong, so I'll see tomorrow if that has something to do with it.

  54. Hi guys, I was running my Orange Pi Zero Plus perfectly on the dev channel but I did an apt upgrade the other day and it seems to have broken something. I hooked it up to a usb serial device and here's the log: https://pastebin.com/jiB9TZdh Any ideas on how I can fix this? I can interrupt the boot process and I get to a screen where I can run limited commands but I'm not sure what to do at that point. I'm thinking it might be easier to just reflash and start again. This post is mainly for the devs to let them know there might be an issue with one of the kernels? Cheers.

I have an older image (jessie with Kernel 3.4) where the PWM hardware can be accessed through /sys/class/pwm-sunxi/pwm*/{duty, duty_percent, period, pin, polarity, pulse, run}. Now I'm building a newer image (xenial with Vanilla kernel). It has /sys/class/pwm, but the directory is empty. Any ideas? The fex file is the same for both boards; the relevant section is: [pwm0_para] pwm_used = 1 pwm_period = 10000 pwm_duty_percent = 50 [pwm1_para] pwm_used = 1 pwm_period = 10000 pwm_duty_percent = 50

  75. Hi, is the image for the M1 and Pro the same? Because after downloading, the file name is "Armbian_5.04_Bananapipro_Debian_jessie_4.4.3". On the download page for M1 and Pro the download links point to the same file. Looking at http://mirror.igorpecovnik.com/i see only 5.00 for the M1. Another question i have: After the login i see 12 updates and i should run APT. Since years I'm using aptitude since it is the preferred and newer program for Debian. So the question is if i can safely use aptitude? Or is there something pre-installed and i mix up the package management. I will never understand why every tutorial on the web is using APT.

This machine has worked fine with non-standard resolutions, like 1440x900, or 1280x1024. Now, when i turn it on, the U-boot screen appears correctly, it even shows that it set the resolution to 1440x900, and after that, the monitor says "signal out of range". Of course, it works well with a 1080p monitor, but i wanted to use this one too. Thanks!

    It seems there are no any on-board wifi nodes (vcc33-wifi, vcc-wifi-io, wifi-pwrseq ) in sun50i-h618-orangepi-zero2w.dtb , and exists in Zero 3 dts . zero2w.dts: type_addr_wifi = <0x02>; zero3.dts: type_addr_wifi = <0x02>; zero3.dts: vcc33-wifi { zero3.dts: regulator-name = "vcc33-wifi"; zero3.dts: vcc-wifi-io { zero3.dts: regulator-name = "vcc-wifi-io"; zero3.dts: wifi-pwrseq { zero3.dts: reg_vcc33_wifi = "/vcc33-wifi"; zero3.dts: reg_vcc_wifi_io = "/vcc-wifi-io"; zero3.dts: wifi_pwrseq = "/wifi-pwrseq";

  94. Today I noticed that last Sunday a community version of Armbian was released with Orange Pi 4A support. I tried to flash it in different ways just in case, but it just wouldn't boot. I used BalenaEtcher, Rufus and Armbian Imager and neither of them worked. Im new in this stuff, so I wanted to know if someone could tell me if it is something I'm doing wrong.

    Hi, As I saw some people were able to use docker on CubieTruck : https://dzone.com/articles/cross-platform-hybrid-cloud https://dzone.com/articles/big-data-processing-arm-0 As there are also some images for Raspberri/docker like http://blog.hypriot.com/getting-started-with-docker-on-your-arm-device/and as in the changelog of the kernel, docker is mentionned, I would like to know how to install & use docker on my cubietruck. Did someone achieve that ? I'll be quite interested to do a docker cluster of my Rasp & Cubietruck for my self hostiing needs Maybe this could help too : https://github.com/umiddelb/armhf/wiki/Installing,-running,-using-docker-on…

  96. Hi! I have recently installed Armbian 4.5 (Debain Jessie and Ubuntu trusty) at Banana Pi M2, and I’ve noticed that the computer doesn’t reboot after the command. It simply switches off, and the red diode lights up. How it could be corrected?

  97. Is there anywhere examples, samples or tests for CAN driver using MCP2515 controller via SPI ? Board is Pcduino3-nano with Armbian5 & Mayby, any other CAN driver usage demo or samples on Pcduino3-nano ?

  100. Hi guys, I installed last armbian on Banana Pi M2+, and execute nand-sata-install.sh to boot armbian from emmc, it works fine. I want system boot from emmc, and storage some data to sd card, so I prepare one sd card with ntfs partition, insert to Banana Pi M2+, and boot. It cannot boot, and message are: U-Boot SPL 2016.05-armbian (Jun 23 2016 - 09:59:04) DRAM: 1024 MiB Trying to boot from MMC1 U-Boot 2016.05-armbian (Jun 23 2016 - 09:59:04 +0200) Allwinner Technology CPU: Allwinner H3 (SUN8I 1680) Model: Xunlong Orange Pi PC DRAM: 1 GiB MMC: SUNXI SD/MMC: 0 (SD), SUNXI SD/MMC: 1 *** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment In: serial Out: serial…
