Hi, I really like the new option to use DT Overlays on the tinkerboard. But right now I'm struggeling a little with it: I have an old installation with 5.60 which I updated to 5.70 via apt. But the /boot/boot.cmd is still the old one and the Overlays are not working. Maybe I'm blind, but I do not see, how to update u-boot and the boot.cmd as part of it via armbian-config. Can someone point me to the right direction? Thanks, Alex

Hi, I am trying to make the RPI camera ( OV7750 ) to work with the TInkerboard in Armbian. But there is no module in /lib/modules for this camera. Is it already compiled in the kernel? Currently it doesn't work.

HI all, first of all, I found thi sissue adopting a new board to the CSC tree, done by @balbes150. As it seems to be a problem of RK3288 in general, I post here, in case please move the topic to the approriate place. I have a JLD076 board, and started adjusting the DTS to the schematic. According to the schematic, and the TRM of RK3289, there is a maximum number of 160 GPIOs. This is also the number I get from my schematics. So I expected th get suitable number of pins from gpioinfo (bank:number 0:19, 1:4, 2:18, 3:28, 4:26, 5:12, 6:19, 7:24, 8:10). Instead, I get listed (0:24, 1...7:32, 8:16). I tried now to set ngpios for the &…

Hi, I installed "Armbian_20.02.7_Tinkerboard_buster_current_5.4.28_minimal" at my tinkerboard and, in order to enable uart 4, I had to rebuild the kernel onboard (from linux-source-current-rockchip_20.02.7_all.deb). The uart 4 came alive but the processor serial number now is missing from cpuinfo (printing 0000000000). How can I bring it up again?

Hi Igor and all, back after a long absence, Have been using Cubie2s since 2015, rock solid with Armbian. I've now moved as cubies don't support gigabit, and the Pi gigabit interface is limited. So I now have a tinkerboard and popped Stretch mainline kernel 4.14.y onto an SDcard. Linux tinkerboard 4.14.67-rockchip #88 SMP PREEMPT Wed Aug 29 15:07:29 CEST 2018 armv7l GNU/Linux I want to compile the faithfull usb-redirector against the headers, but sudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r` results in not found. Bit of noob question, but I've trawlled around, but can't seem to find source/headers or should I move to a diffrent version? Mark

Hello, I have been experimenting with the bluetooth audio on my tinkerboard. The issue is both present on the last rockchip-next (4.1x I think) and the rockchip-current 5.8.18 kernel. I am using bluez and bluealsa. The problem is specific to the onboard bluetooth, using an external bluetooth dongle (a cheap and old CSR Bluetooth 3.0 dongle from China) works as expected, I can even send audio to multiple devices simultaneously (quality is very bad, but thats a bandwidth problem). As long as I just connect one bluetooth audio device everything is fine. I can have multiple paired, but disconnected, devices and as long as I connect and p…

I cannot get any CMA reserved space when I use latest LTS kernel (4.14): dmesg always says that no memory has been reserved for CMA. Is CMA working on mainline kernel for Mali Midgard? Is it required for 3D/video decoding stuff or the Mali kernel driver should instead allocate memory on-demand? I see that most of the kernel configuration options regarding CMA are disable or not set, which one requires to be enabled?

Can anyone point me in the right direction for an Armbian image that would allow audio recording over the 3.5mm jack? I'm trying to record audio over the 3.5mm jack. This works on a previous installation, but I'm trying to update to a curreent Armbian. Running Tinkerboard S R2.0 and this image: Armbian_25.2.1_Tinkerboard_noble_current_6.12.13_xfce_desktop.img Playback works record does not. Hello to all, I am using an HDMI switch. I have noticed that TinkerBoard Armbian, displays fine the UBOOT text/logo but after that, the HDMI shows no signal/image If I connect the HDMI cable directly from the board to the monitor all is ok. What would be the reason or setting to be changed so TinkerBoard HDMI port can output display either case (hdmi direct to over a hdmi switch) tx in advance

hello i just installed Armbian_5.59_Tinkerboard_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.14.67_desktop on a new tinkerboard s .. and ran myself into a corner immediately. i was trying to figure out how to get 4K 2160p resolution instead of HD 1080p. i changed the refresh rate from 60Hz to 30Hz and now can't get the display back. i tried reboot. and documentation at https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Fine-Tuning/ said to modify /boot/boot.cmd and that file says "edit /boot/armbianEnv.txt to set supported parameters" .. . so i set disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 in armbianEnv.txt no luck .. i seem to have gone headless earlier than planned .. advice pls? i w…

Hi all, looking for a bit of advise. I had an idea recently in that I have a problem of syncing a 20Tb USB 3.0 RAID0 drive with a 20Tb NAS. I have two fully duplicated RAID0 drives with no protection, so whenever I upgrade the capacity of a drive, I do a full sync. I do this maybe once a year. Whenever I have to do a full sync however it usually ties my MacBook up for a few weeks to transfer that much data over, so I had the idea recently of having a maker board do it since Linux/Armbian supports HFS+, I can just do an rsync between the two. I opted to purchase a Tinkerboard for the GigE Ethernet (I'll live with the USB 2.0), installed, up and running all…

Hello, I am using the armbian kernel+uboot patchset of the rockchip-next (4.14.x) part to support Tinkerboard+TinkerboardS in an own home automation environment. U-Boot 2018.05 and kernel 4.14.53 are working fine so far with the current patchset published on GitHub (thanks for this great work!). However, the only issue I am still having is, that the ethernet port always comes up with "no-link" on the intial powerup of the Tinkerboard. As soon as I software reboot it after the initial powerup the ethernet port perfectly comes up with a link and I am able to setup all IP data, etc. But as soon as I completely power down the system and replug the power-cable it a…

probably a post bragging of my christmas gifts, but mostly just documentation because it really confused and stumbled me from the get go so, my setup was powering tinkerboard (the first revision, without the new fangled eMMCs) via GPIO because it confused the hell out of me how to power this beast. this was powered through the XL4015 buck converter 12.1/12.2 V on input, with ammeter and voltmeter included on the board. (the board was current limited to 5A, because why not? the rk808 is 6A tops) ok from the get go the board powers (not load tested, just power through and run kodi-gbm UI) from 3.4V to 6.2V. undervolting or overvolting it doesnt shuts itself dow…

Hi there Board, I have bought my Tinkerboard after some good research with my fellow techies at Red Hat and reading thoroughly that 19+pages Tinkerboard Thread. After crafting a super lean/mean kernel (kconfig at https://gist.github.com/rfrht/5f0fa113f12fbacf832e57ff4967785a ), I got a stable and lightweight kernel configuration. Things got a lot funnier when doing some compatibility tests with specific Asterisk versions, I was able to install and run cleanly a Raspi .DEB pkg. And that got me thinking. I have now JUST replaced the Raspberry Pi with the Tinkerboard. And guess what: It was a _inplace_ upgrade! Using the same u…

Hello. In Armbian 5.34 (default, next and nightly (26/10/2017) no have permission for create, edit and delet conection on network manager. To be able to modify a connection it is necessary to open the network manager in root. It's really very exciting. Looking on the internet it turns out that it will be a problem of "policy". I had already reported this bug on the post "tinkerboard". He had been tuned to a nightly version but he came back. my account is in the group netdev and sudo like ask in the polkit Would it be possible to have a "next" version fix this bug or have the procedure to fix the error? thank

i'm stuck with this since day 1 but now i upgraded to armbian (with kodi-gbm) i had this problem worse stress testing the board with stress -c 4 doesn't bring the board into shutdown, but logging in to kodi-gbm or using graphical interface? it brings instability all of a sudden. there's no inherent pattern from the shudowns except when i launch kodi or access some files (emby transcoding doesn't cause any instability). anything outside the text mode should cause it to shutdown. weirdly enough, when i removed the USB peripherals (2xUSB HDD, own power supply for both cases) the instability worsens and doesn't boot or sometimes reboot cycle after fsck.ext4 on sta…

Hello, I have set kernel.panic=180 in /etc/sysctl.conf to reboot on a kernel panic. Before, the system would keep running/hanging and I could read the errors if I turned on a attached display. Now the result is that the tinkerboard switches off. My expected result would be a reboot. Do I have to set something else? Or do I need to use watchdog? I am using the original tinkerboard with debian bullseye, kernel 5.15.48-rockchip.

Just reporting that there is some tx-offload bug in the ASUS Tinker Board Rockchip. I think I read about this issue regarding other rockchip/platforms when checksum offload bugs on large packets. So my boss deploys a plethora of Asus TInkerboards to assist with production. We are currently using an OS image provided to us by this website---specifically, Ubuntu_xenial_next_desktop.7z. On some occasions, with kick ass access points, the tinkers will disconnect from the wireless network that we are using. We are also using an antennae attachment which seems to help a bit with connection issues. Without providing too much specific info, is there an updated driver being worked on somewhere that I could be pointed towards? Any info/words of wisdom would be very helpful! Thank you! Best regards and thanks in advance! Joey

Hey everyone I've compiled my own kernel using this awesome tool, and I'm now running it on a tinker board. Everything's been working fine, except for one annoying thing I just ran into: I can't use the GPIO pins. When I try to use a pin in python I just get this message back: "RuntimeError: This gpio is set to other function!". If I run Debian I can use the gpio just fine, but I need some kernel modules that doesn't ship with Debian. That's why I've compiled my own armbian kernel. Anyways, any idea on how to fix this? Any special module I should add when compiling the kernel? Thanks Marius

Hi folks... Looking at RK3288 on Armbian and the power/thermals - which are considerable considering SBC's like tinkerboard and miqi Currently - looks like all cores are following the same power/time domain - so one core goes fast, and the others follow, so sucks power and raises temps, and we get heat soaked quickly... Looking at the Rockchip docs, it does look like the RK3288 does have PD's for each core along with other logic... Six separate power domains for every core to support internal power switch and externally turn on/off based on different application scenario * PD_A17_0: 1st Cortex-A17 + Neon + FPU + L1 I/D Cache * PD_A…

It works fine as a hotspot with 200mbps up and down but when the traffic is routes through a vpn by connecting openvpn the board will crash/become unresponsive if the upload is used heavily. Works great until I run a speedtest and on the upload the board will crash. Normal use is fine even pegging download causes no issue. Hi, I tried to activate the SPI interface on a Tinkerboard2S. I used the last Armbian version (Armbian_community_25.2.0-trunk.110_Tinkerboard-2_bookworm_current_6.6.63_minimal). However, Armbian is configured to provide only spidev2.0, while TinkerOS can have spidev0.0, spidev0.1, spidev2.0 and spidev2.1 all enabled at the same time as long as you disable UART4 which shares GPIO header pins with SPI0. In the TinkerOS case, there is a config tool which edits a small and straightforward text file in /boot/ containing lines such as "intf:spi0=on" or "intf:uart4=off". The corresponding Armbian file seems to be /boot/armbianEnv.txt - possibly with overlays=... lines and DTS files. There also is a tool called armbian-add-overlay to load (at runtime?) DTS files...

Hi, i get a probleme with the actual uart acces config by default on Uart2 (pin 32, 33), because i need to use PWM pin (use to set motor speed with a L293D) and on the board only pin 32, 33 can be use with PWM. Now i am using 32 33 pin as PWM but if the cable on these pin is connected the board doesn't boot, maybe because the uarts of u-boot use these pin and the result of un connected cable to my setup = Critical fail. When i remove the cable on pin 32 the board boot. So i need to solve that because i don't want to disconnect this cable at each start and i want to use uarts with this setup. I need to change uart2 to uart1 or find a way to get PWM or a other pin option …

There's a few problems with the UART driver on 5.0-rc2 kernels, since proper checks are not done correctly and lead to a Null Pointer dereference. Here's a patch to avoid this issue : From 7e43ae8446b420907f00b43308ad0b99b6fe4e51 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: "Miouyouyou (Myy)" <myy@miouyouyou.fr> Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2019 23:58:52 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] drivers: tty: serial: Bail out if no UART is detected Before the 5.0, serial8250_register_8250_port consisted of one BIG if(uart && uart->port.type != PORT_8250_CIR) block, which prevented NULL dereference if uart, a pointer to an "uart_8250_port" detected through "serial8250_find_ma…

Hi there! o/ I have noticed something... Odd. This is not a show stopper here, but the TinkerBoard NIC leds stays off all the time (if no traffic) even with link. It does blink somewhat schizophrenically when there's traffic. The right NIC led is bi-color and sometimes blinks in yellow, sometimes blinks in green. For what is worth, running Kernel 4.4-120. Issue also happened in build -104, which was the original Armbian image that I have downloaded. I thought it was something with the port, cables but... Traffic flows just normally Is it... normal? :-) Have a great (tinkering) weekend!!!

hello. I have a problem for quite some time on my tinkerboard. I do not know if it's a software or hardware problem. It appeared after connecting a special Raspberry USB Hub http://www.uugear.com/product/7-port-usb-hub-for-raspberry-pi/ I used this HUB on a raspberry 3b but he grilled the wifi chip (disappeared totally). I thought I had to grill the wifi chip of the tinkerbard like the raspberry but I can see the chip turn on from time to time. Today she has reappeared but "wlan0 not ready" in the network manager. sudo ip link show wlan0 wlan0: <BROADCAST, MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000…

Dear Colleagues! In the I2S RK3288 interface rather limited number of timeslots of TDM (PCM). I try to use RK3288 spi as the subordinate controller for input and processing of a data stream of TDM (128 timeslots). Was - whether you have a practice of creation of spi of the driver for operation in slave DMA?. Perhaps for other chip. I will be glad to responses! Thanks!

Sorry bad English. I advise that I'm a noob. I have a MKS TS35 v2.0, that uses ST7796/ILI9341 (or ILI9486, I think) for LCD and ADS7843E for touch, and now I want to use it in my Asus Tinker Board for Klipper. I know that it's possible because exists one HOW-TO of this for Raspberry Pi 3b+. I wanna that someone, with knowledge in Armbian and Tinker Board, build (adapt) this DTS on GITHUB https://github.com/fbeltrao-br/mksts35/blob/main/mksts35v2.dts. I want this especially because the pinout https://github.com/fbeltrao-br/mksts35/blob/main/pinout.png, that is more easy for me understand what pins I need connect.

Running Armbian Desktop stable 4.14y my Tinkerboard sees the WiFi network but refuses to connect. It has worked with TinkerOS so I don’t think it’s hardware related and Iknow the passcode and WPA settings look right. When I try to connect it spins and then fails after timing out. armbianmonitor -u output (with ethernet attached) http://ix.io/1x1J I’m probably just missing something stupid. Suggestions?

Hy again :p; I have customed my sd for my tinkerboard. i have done some settings like eth0 in static, partitions modified scripts and hostapd. When i put it in another Tinkerboard, everything works except wifi ap. I have searched why, and i have found that in my initial tinkerboard wifi is wlan0 and his settings is in /etc/network/interfaces.d/armbian.ap.nat When i put my SD in another tinkerboard, it is wlan1 which mounts and no wlan0. Wlan1 has no ip address. i don't see where is the problem? thanks by advance

Hi there, I have set up a tinkerboard S and I'm loving armbian so far. I only just encountered a weird problem. When i try to code in spyder3 there seems to be a messup in the keys i press and the key that is produced in spyder3. The funny thing is that this only occurs in spyder. When I type in terminal or gummi everything works fine. I am connecting to my TB using vnc using X. I've googled a bit around and found this could be a error of the XKEYBOARD as written here (I am however still not sure): https://github.com/spyder-ide/spyder/issues/3713 However I cant apply the proposed solution. I've found i need to go to /etc/X11/xorg.c…

Hey! I recently got a CAN-bus up and running on a Tinkerboard running Armbian, but I've run into another problem here: The CAN-bus buffer fills up. After sending a few messages I get an error saying "No buffer space available". I've noticed that some other people are solving this by increasing the buffer size, but that seems like a weird solution to me. And it wouldn't really help me much. I need to empty this buffer when I read from it, or manually (without restarting the CAN-bus). Any ideas on how to do that? Thanks

Hello Guys. สมัครสมาชิกufabet เว็บพนันบอลต่างประเทศ I want to extend the current kernel (Tinkerboard with rockchip-kernel-4.4.120 on Debian-Armbian) to include IR (GPIO) and DVB modules. What do I have to consider or is this possible with the usual run-through? (copy .config from current system, make menuconfig, make, sudo make install, sudo make modules_install) Is there possibly already a tutorial that I have not seen?

sorry just switched my box for the first time in a long time. i was wondering if i can seamlessly upgrade to the latest Armbian without losing hardware acceleration included in RK3288/RK3328 Legacy Multimedia Framework or is it only for Debian Buster? is kodi-gbm (RKMPP) still viable? is there a compatible version much higher than 18.9 "Leia"? thanks!

Referring the MPP samples, i have got an application which can give me NV12 data. 4 instance(or threads) of this application will give me raw data, i need to scale all of them in a single screen. Is it achievable through Mali GPU with current development of userland/kernel driver? Also i need to perform composition. On that tiled screen, i need to show other semi-opaque(transparent) window. Which library can help me to do the same?

Hi! I'm using Tinkerboard S R2.0 in headless mode, but with LightDM (kiosk mode). It's connected to HDMI display, and I soldered display's backlight on/off contact to a relay that can turn on/off the backlight. I see that Amrbian turns off image output (launches screensaver as a black screen) after 10-15 min, but I could not find out where those settings are stored. Please help to find out.

Hi! I need to make sure that my GPIOs remember the last state when my Tinkerboard reboots. Is it possible to modify the bootloader and avoid GPIO.cleanup? If yes, then how? Thanks!
