I tried to push it on my box freshly factored by default usb burning tool and android img from mecool. Install SD as usual with the settings according to the first post of balbe thread (it changed with the u boot) but after installing on emmc i'm stuck at the u boot and don't know why as it was working correctly on previous builds. If i put SD back it boot right away on it. Guess it is a emmc boot number or something wrong like that. If i do lsblk i can see emmc 0 (sd) and emmc 1 (real emmc) D…

Now, it is running as my Linux server for OpenHab and working fine. The "Vorke Z6 Plus" has a small LCD Display which usually shows the text "boot" if its booting in Android system and then showing the current time + some other information. With Armbian it shows continiously the text "boot". Hi I am trying to breathe some life into an older generic Amlogic TV box on my workbench and am hitting a brick wall with modern mainline images. I’m looking for a copy of a legacy, community-archived Armbian image (Kernel 5.4.y, 5.10.y, or 4.19.y) tailored for the S905X / S905W (meson-gxl) architecture. The newer automated GitHub builds (6.12+ kernels) completely purge the old asset files, and modern multi-stage boot configurations (boot.scr) are being entirely bypassed by my box's legacy onboard bootloader. I found a recovery1 button (accessed from a pinhole) but holding this while powering on, or holding the 'power' button while powering on, doesn't seem to get me anywhere. It seems that whenever I insert my 32G sdcard (maybe not supported?), something happens where the stock android does not boot after the initial MINIX splash screen, but just sits on a black screen (regardless of how I may have powered it on). Initially I thought it was doing something, so I let it run overnight.. I restarted it in the am, but when I removed the SDCard, it just booted…

The device doesn't have an sd slot, however I was able to boot coreelec by using a usb drive and ADB. basically adb-connected to it and issued "adb reboot update". For some reason ethernet "dies" if I boot it without HDMI connected and it doesn't "come back" even if I connect it back to the monitor and power it on again. I have to reflash SD card with fresh armbian to get it back up. Is this some known issue when using android boxes or is this something else? I tried two DTB files for S912 but there was no change. Now for the whole story. With prices of SBC currently being what they are I thought to try using one of my old Android boxes for simple server. In this case it was Sunvell T95U Pro box…

  50. I've created a new Linux image for the MyGica ATV 495X TV box, based on a Focal CLI image from ophub's github repo. The image includes a 5.10 kernel with HDMI, SD, eMMC, USB, Sound (HDMI+AV), Ethernet and WIFI all working. The image supports installing to the internal eMMC with or with the vendor u-boot. It is available at https://github.com/deonvdw/atvlinux/releases/tag/ATV495X-v1.00.

Hello In the past I installed armbian into emmc (a95xf3-air) with a USB key. All was ok. Now I would like to do a fresh install with the current release : I burned the image, make the changes (extlinux …) Boot with the "toothpick" method, ssh , the armbian release is the old one from the emmc, not the recent from the key. How is it possible to boot with the recent one with ssh (no display no keyboard) ? And after copy the new release to emmc. Thanks for help

BTW, I have a freelancer.com account with a 5.0 rating as employer (as well as freelancer): https://www.freelancer.com/u/LeHawkDeLaNight - I can start a new project for you there, so there is no doubts about getting payed the $500. 58. I have an OTT TV Box, model ABOX-A1 ( 1G + 8G, S905X ). Inside it looks very similar to NEXBOX A95X discussed at https://www.savagemessiahzine.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=770346 . It has an analog AV port, with a 3PEAK TPF632A audio line driver on the output. So, all the digital audio stuff is inside the S905X SOC, and maybe some GPIO switches mute of that analog output chip. I first booted Devmfc_Debian-Bookworm_6.1.57-meson64_Minimal-23.10.12.img.xz from https://github.com/devmfc/debian-on-amlogic and had sound on the analog output. I tried manually mounting the kernel module (sound/soc/meson/snd-soc-meson-g12a-tohdmitx.ko) but this leads to no output (whether error or dmesg), and the module does not appear in the lsmod output. 79. Hi. I'm out of my depth here, but I noticed that one of the official Armbian builds with platinum support is for the Khadas VIM1S, which has a S905Y4 SOC with 2GB of RAM. This is a similar configuration to many cheap Android TV boxes. According to some sources I can find, the S905W2 is also in the same family as the S905Y4 (Amlogic NE S4). Both are also supported by Coreelec, although I understand that Coreelec DTB's can't be used with Armbian. What would be involved in porting Armbian from the VIM1S to S905Y4/S905W2 TV boxes? Is this likely to work, and where could I start? Thanks!

I have three questions: why does it stop working when I update the operating system? - The site of benchmark says that the s905w cpu has a speed of up to 2GHz, but my system does not speed up more than 1.2 GHz. And the last question: some of the images available on the site are installed on it, and some are not. The ones that work also stop working with the update. Of course, not with a single update, when it works for a week, you update it during the week, and from some point on, it will not boot again. This is because my device is fake?

  93. Hello. I have a problem that's been driving me crazy, and I think I'm not the only one. I'm using Armbian version v25.05.0 for Aml.S905x running Armbian Linux 6.12.19-ophub Debian stable (bookworm), and I managed to install RealVNC Connect, for which I have a license. The problem I'm having, and I can't find a solution, is that by default the GDM3 desktop launcher uses Wayland, and when I connect externally to the server, I only get a black screen with a message saying "the desktop cannot be displayed at this time." I'm using GNOME, and I've tried different desktop environments, but they never work, even after selecting them from the gear icon. It just acts like it's goin…

Hello Guys. What Armbian version and image would you recommend? I have a TESLA MediaTech X700 Pro with soc s905x2 in it. I would like to use it to play movies via kodi and play retro games e.g. via RetroArch. Previously I used CoreELEC on an sd-card that is great for movies. Retro gaming only with wired Xbox One or Xbox Series controllers (xone driver for MS USB Xbox dongle did not work there). I would like to use my Xbox controllers wirelessly. Thank you for your advice.

  95. Guys, I need to build a cheap NAND reader/writer to clone few NAND chips, and I have some old android TV Boxes that I'm thinking to re-purpose for this job. It's a one time job so I don't want to buy a professional NAND programmer as they tend to be quite expensive. Do you guys think this would be possible? So, I'm thinking to boot from an sd-card or usb stick with Armbian and get access to the NAND chips that all my tv boxes have (I have some old MX-III and M8 boxes, model K200 I think, with S802 cpus and 8GB NAND). If I manage to get NAND access I can de-solder and solder other chips that I need to write from/to. Does anyone have any experience with this and ca…

Hi there, I'm very knew to this forum. Yesterday I successfully installed armbian 20.10 on my bqeel M9C MAX on sd card following this thread (https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12162-single-armbian-image-for-rk-aml-aw-aarch64-armv8/page/48/) I had no desktop manager available and tried several times to fix it by installing xfce4 and lightdm but with no success (I always had "xserverrc x not found" error). After that I accidentally run the script install-am.sh which properly completed the installation. After removing the SD and reboot I can no longer access Android :-o I surely went wrong running the script. The question is: there's any possibility to fix …

Thanks to this forum I had installed Armbian buster and it's been running really well and stable for 3 years. For the first time I've arrived at an issue which makes me revisit and also because I have forgotten most of the stuff. Back in the day balbes150 had a bunch of ready made images available and you picked the correct device tree after flash. Appears those links no longer work. I don't want to do a massive upgrade, just from buster to bullseye on my week play 2 box (s905h only uses 4w when running) My question is where can I get those old images again. Or a newer resource for ready made images that will work on my box.

  98. Hello everyone, I have a device from this brand. An ISP in Turkey distributes this device. It needs to be unlocked. I want to install Armbian on it. However, it doesn’t look like any device I’ve seen online. The motherboard is different from all the devices I checked. Is there anyone who can help me? I can access the device via ADB. I can install APK files. The device has an S905X processor and 1 GB of RAM. It is running Android 9.

  99. Hello, I am very new to Armbian and can not get my wireless keyboard touch pad to work. It worked fine with my android tv box 905w. Any ideas? Thanks, Earl

  100. Sorry - this is probably an easy one for those that know. But I am trying hard to copy my work and progress and build another NAS out of another T95z Plus box for my brother. All is going well - but on the second box - months after building the first - I installed the latest download. So I have Old box = Armbian Linux 6.12.32-current-meson64 - v25.5.1 New box = Armbian Linux 6.12.34-current-meson64 - v25.8 rolling - Support:for advanced users (rolling release) Both show - Ubuntu stable (noble) - which I think I changed on first boot with Armbian-config. Okay - so I don't think I am an advanced user so that warning has got me worried. …
