Hi, I tried to install Armbian in the recent days, but I wasnt unable because the image says "Map file error" or the update app will not read the Micro SD card (Armbian 23) I was wondering, where can I get this image of Armbian "Armbian_20.05.1_Arm-64_focal_current_5.6.2_desktop_20200408.img" ? It worked in a similar TV Box tutorial and I tought it could work in mine. Thanks for any help given This tutorial "http://www.galipe.net/guide-mecool-m8sproplus-armbian/"

  2. My tv box: x96max 2+. Cpu: s905x3. Gpu: mali g31. I found the suitable Armbian here: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12162-single-armbian-image-for-rk-aml-aw-aarch64-armv8 I installed the Armbian_20.10_Arm-64_focal_current_5.9.0_desktop.img to tv box. It works. But the picture quality is not good enough and hardware decoding is not used when playing video. The panfrost driver is used for mali g31. I would like to try some other driver. In the Ubuntu repository I found the following packages: mali-midgard-dkms mali-t62x-x11-driver mali-t76x-x11-driver The mali g31 family is bifrost. In the Debian wiki I had read th…

  3. Hi Guys, I am looking for latest Armbian image which works for Beelink GT1 Ultimate 3/32GB (S/N = G912) Amlogic S912 TV box. My requirement is only wired network to be working and that Armbian image must have kernel headers. The only old image that work is Armbian_5.37_S9xxx_Ubuntu_xenial_3.14.29_mate_20171226.img but missing kernel headers & not able to find kernel headers that matches kernel in the image. I tried Armbian_20.10_Arm-64_focal_current_5.9.0_desktop.img with 3 different dtb files as follows: dtb file: /dtb/amlogic/meson-gxm-q200.dtb dtb file: /dtb/amlogic/meson-gxm-gt1-ultimate.dtb dt…

Hi all, I have some x905 boxes and I'd like to use one (an old TX95 -> x905w IIRC) as a midi sequencer with fluidsynth. I found the hard way that the default kernel has no midi sequencer support (in kernel or module) so there's no way to use aconnect and have it as a midi box. The only solution seems to be rebuild the kernel with the added module support but it's been decades since last time i rebuilt a kernel and S905 kernels (with added balbes150 mods and stuff to have it working on those cheap boxes) seems a bit too complex for me. So the question is: is there a way to get a working kernel with midi support, and how to put it in. If this was…

This is an Android TV box using the 922 chipset. Under Android, I have been using stock firmware but also recall trying that from the Ugoos AM6. I have managed to get it to boot using u-boot-s905x2-s922. I have tried several of the DTB files starting with the g12b prefix. I had initial high hopes that the one for the Ugoos would work. And it did boot all the way into the desktop (I have auto-login enabled) but the mouse would not move nor would the keyboard respond. Since then I have tried many others - still working my way through them all one-by-one. And I have found some (gtking-pro.dtb, gsking-x.dtb) that appear to work pretty "normally" (not that I am sur…

I have got my T95Z Plus with S912 booting 6.12.24-current-meson64 just fine now. Getting Jellyfin up and running with all my old DVDs and CDs. Seems very capable. When do I push the OS into the eMMC? Is there a downside? Are there only so many times I can do this safely? If I chose to try the Debian builds - don't I just boot from a SD card and try it out? If I like that one better - then don't I just repeat the process and push that onto the eMMC? I believe I have the Android Source - or more precisely - I have a rom called SuperCelleron that I installed almost 10 years ago... That still boots when I don't have an SD card in. Also - …

No issues while loading the system, a prompt for login is presented, but it does not recognize any keyboard that I plugin. Tryed out via ssh but isn't possible to ping the server, so I believe ssh connection might not be automatically set. Maybe some one have an idea on how I can solve this issues. Thanks in advance.

  36. Hi, I would like to maintain the kernel version updated on the box (for video reading performance because I still got some stearing when the camera moves horizontaly). Now that there is no more support for amlogic (I can understand why reading the forum), can I use the available bullseye/linux-image-current-meson64 package from the armbian repo (which is now 5.9.6 not 5.9.0)? (for example Z:\) I am using it off the SD card, I left Android 7.1 on the EMMC. Notes: My intentions are to use it for a file server for use with USB 2.0 drives I have laying around that are old but still technically usable. The file transfer speed is only expected to be around 30% of the 1GBPS wired network. The bottleneck will definitely be the USB 2.0, but for what I am using…
