  1. Hello, I have Banana Pi R2 with armbian bionic. Have two wlan cards both USB, both works. But earlier when I used openwrt on x86 my both wlan and lan were bridged and had one IP - which was router IP. Here with armbian wlan hotspot get other IP than armbian itself. Is there any way to change it to bridge? Or best practices is to leave it as is? regards, Maciek

  2. Hi all I am currently working on my Orange Pi Plus A31s. What I did with your image so far: The image Link for Debian Jessy pointed me to the Banana Pi M2 image. But this file was not present. I tried all 3 images, but i was unable to find that file. I copied it over from other project, that did not work. 24. Hello, I've been using a M4V2 since its release mostly as a NAS (disks over UBS 3.0). I also have it booting from a Samsung NVMe with the official NVMe hat. My setup works flawlessly however I was thinking about ways to add more storage with reasonable performance/price so I thought, what if I managed to add a standard PCIe x1 port from the pins on the board and use standard hardware with it. The idea was to add a cheap PCI switch + NVMe adapter (to boot from) and a PCI to SATA controller such as the following: 1) PCI Switch: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-Express-1X-to-4X-PCI-E-4-Ports-Switch-Multiplier-Expansion-Riser-Card-New/293564888…

  25. The espressobin has three ethernet ports. In Ubuntu Armbian, left to right (looking into the ports), they're called "lan1", "lan0", and "wan". The weird thing is that you can't bring them up until you've *first* brought up eth0, which is not associated with a physical port. This causes all kinds of havoc trying to use /etc/network/interfaces/, because it takes a couple of seconds for eth0 to come up, in which time the other interfaces have already failed. 1) What is this mysterious eth0? 2) My attempts to bridge lan0 and lan1 from .../interfaces have failed. Got an example you can give me?

I've got a quick question about the Armbian Ubuntu Xenial install. I want to make sure I'm not in the wrong here before looking around for where to submit a bug report. It seems that at least on the C2s, & NanoPI Neos that I have that the /etc/resolv.conf file is not a link to /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf. That doesn't seem right to me, is there a reason it's a regular file and not a link? It messes things up when moving the computer to different networks as it doesn't update with new DNS settings. Possibly more glaringly it could be a security issue for those unaware or not paying attention while using things like openvpn.

  46. Long story short: Espressobin v7 1GB Armbian (Ubuntu Bionic 18.04) Kernel Mainline 5.4-rc4 (with custom userpatch (compiles fine)) U-Boot 2018.03-devel-18.12.3-gc9aa92c-armbian (Feb 20 2019 - 09:45:04 +0100) Without my Atheros AR9380 chipset (ath9k) wifi card inserted into the mPCIe, boots fine into Ubuntu from SD. With Atheros AR9380 chipset (ath9k) wifi card inserted into mPCIe I get a kernel hang (see below), I'm assuming it's because I'm using: U-Boot 2018.03-devel-18.12.3-gc9aa92c-armbian (Feb 20 2019 - 09:45:04 +0100) But according to this: https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Marvell/, I should be using U-Boot v2019.04-rc4 However,…

Hi All, as I just started with armbian on one of my R2s and I would like to share my learnings.... 1. Learning build own Image Why?: One of my requirements is to have DRBD Support which seems not to be part of standard build. At least it was gone with one of the Kernel Updates. So I setup a VM as described here: https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/ to build a Image that supports DRBD. That was really simple. Build took 81min for me... Image Size 864MB Next goals are to bring this image running on the R2 on the eMMC. This worked with armbian-config After moving to eMMC Reboot issue is visible... Adapt hostname, local…

Hello, everyone. Shameless self-promo: https://github.com/znoxx/torbox This set of scripts will allow you to create a tor-enabled wifi access point. Image for OrangePI Zero is based on Armbian - i just disabled NetworkManager here to allow correct execution of scripts. The idea is - you get "normal internet" from Ethernet jack, then do some TOR magic and all traffic from wifi side is "torred". Also I2P is installed to have "more darkness" in your Internets. Everything intended to be completely headless with managing via web interface, written with node.js. Have fun. For russian-speaking persons - description is here: http://znoxx.me/tor-i2p-m…

I am trying to understand and construct a script that will run my 3g usb modem at startup. I have great difficulty in understanding the syntax. I am using a PI PC+ with Ubuntu Xenial. If I type the following at the command prompt: My modem connects to the internet. Sakis3g is located in /home/opi/usr/local/bin/sakis3g. Can someone offer guidance or an example that would execute the above command at startup please?

  96. I installed buster (5.10.21-sunxi) on an Orange Pi zero. I'm trying to install a package using a python venv which required python 3.8 but buster comes with python 3.7. I tried to update using this set of commands sudo wget https://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.8.2/Python-3.8.2.tgz sudo tar xzf Python-3.8.2.tgz cd Python-3.8.2 ./configure --enable-optimizations make -j 4 sudo make altinstall I tried to create a virtual environment with python3.8 -m venv /srv/myapp but I get this error Error: Command '['/srv/myapp/bin/python3.8', '-Im', 'ensurepip', '--upgrade', '--default-pip']' returned non-zero exit status 1. I run mpd on port 6680 in OPi No problem if reaching in local network (localhost:6680) Now I try to reach from internet, but verifying with http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ port is still closed. I try forwarding all other port in OPi like sshd port 22 also closed I'm pretty sure I set correctly port forwarding in my router because my NAS can work with same iptables rule. It seems something wrong in OPi setting, but couldn't find out what's wrong. Anybody help? #iptables -L Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain OUTPUT (po…

  98. Started by Shoka,

I have a small group of Orangepi R2's that I'm setting up as remote snort monitors. It's my first experience with Armbian, and Orangepi and I'm very impressed. I have an odd issue that is puzzling, not of practical importance to what I'm doing, but annoying none the less. The set up I'm running is based on the main Armbian buster "Armbian_20.02.0-rc1_Orangepi-r1_buster_current_5.4.14. Linux probe1 5.4.14-sunxi #rc1 SMP Sat Jan 25 15:19:01 CET 2020 armv7l GNU/Linux I've substantially modified that to use systemd-networkd, systemd-resolved and systemd-timesyncd. My issue is that I have a dummy interfac…

  99. When searching the forum on this topic I find a number of hits saying the mainline kernel does not have support for the SOC codec, but these topics are kind of old and I find it hard to find the current status. In the past I have been able to use the onboard audio codec. However, I have been forced to upgrade and I now find that with the kernel I get from Armbian, I do not see the audio (ALSA) device nodes for the codec, only for HDMI. When looking at the kernel configuration, it should be in (SUN8I_CODEC and SUN8I_CODEC_ANALOG are both 'y'), but alas. Does anyone know if and how I can enable the audio codec so I can have analog audio output? I bui…

So I cannot re-focus the web camera (that supports it; Logitec C920). I can re-focus my usb camera on my Orange PI Prime (VERSION=5.37.180120) using $uvcdynctrl -v -d /dev/video0 --set='Focus (absolute)' $COUNT. Where i also hav…
