Hello, My mic works on my laptop, but I tried to do the computer, but the mic is not working. I tried a troubleshooter, allowing audio to be recorded. I have tried to reinstall the drivers, but nothing seems to be working. Even after doing a lot of research, the solution was not found. Then after going to the settings, after looking at the setting of the microphone, it came to know that the microphone needs permission to run in the device which was disabled. At the same point, after I have given permission in the settings, the microphone was not working due to not giving it, then the https://mictests.net is checking the mic from the site and see if…

  3. I loaded a kernel module from the official Linux Github repo, compiled and placed it within /lib/modules/......... Now if I make changes to this kernel module, and recompile it and reboot, the old one still gets called. If I rmmod and modprobe however, the new module gets loaded. The module I'm talking about is qcaspi. This issue doesn't occur on RPi so I'm thinking it could be an Armbian issue or an oversight by me. Any help please?

  4. Hello, I run a clearfogpro, this problem is not board specific, but I would like to use a huawei e3372h-153 USB 4G dongle on this board which has a USB3 port. The current version of armbian is Debian Buster Linux 4.14.135-mvebu. This dongle is in stick mode, as opposed to the hilink mode. In stick mode, when plugging the dongle, two devices appear : /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/cdc-ncm1. With the former I can issue AT commands to the dongle, the latter is the modem itself with the NCM protocol, known to be faster than PPP. There is also an wwan interface appearing with ifconfig -a. However, I do not know…

However, when swapping for my NanoPi Neo Core, even though the drivers load correctly, and I see SPI comms going back and forth on the oscilloscope, I am not connected to the internet. This is what ifconfig returns: What could be the difference between rpi and this board that this happens? Any guidance on how to resolve it would be deeply appreciated!

  8. Hi all, I have a working Pinebook Pro Focal build with LUKS encryption enabled. The only issue I have is that when booting no progress or password prompt is displayed. As soon as I enter the password and hit enter I see the boot logo or console output depending on what is set in armbianEnv.txt. I will be continuing my research and learning about the boot process in general but wanted to check in here to see if people had any obvious pointers to share or whether maybe this is a known limitation that is going to be hard to resolve. Thanks, Matt

I used the same parametes than on rpi4. also generated new ones just in case. the thing is I cant make it to work and maybe iut's something deep into armbian. exaple: xrandr --newmode "640x480_60.00" 23.75 640 664 720 800 480 483 487 500 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode HDMI-1 640x480_60.00

Hello everyone. I have to change drivers code in ./cache/sources/linux-mainline/linux-5.10.y/sound/soc/codecs/ Which is the best way to compile a single sound driver without building all the kernel and without lost modification. I would like to work in my Ubuntu pc build Armbian directory.

  15. I burned a xz compressed image of Armbian Focal onto a good SD card using BalenaEtcher as instructed on the Armbian website. I placed it into my NanoPC T4 - which currently boots from the eMMC, and held the boot button while powering on. It tried to boot - but it kept reporting there was no bootloader file and seemed to be trying to load something from the internet, not the SD card. If I dont press the boot button, it simply ignores the SD card and boots from eMMC. I reburned the SD card several times, and each time it verified fine. Does anyone know what I did wrong?

  16. I have a Ubuntu Server 18.04 with postfix installed and configure it the same way as I did on my Helios64 running Armbian 21.02.3 Focal. Last week, one of my older drives died in the Helios, but I didn't get an email about this. My Ubuntu Server 18.04 will send me mails as soon as there's an issue in the SMART values from the drive. I didn't had to configure anything to do that apart from postfix. I can send a test mail from both my Ubuntu Server 18.04 and my Helios64 Armbian and receive both. Any idea what the reason is that my Ubuntu Server 18.04 is sending me those emails by default and how I could enable this on my Helios64?

Hi there. I have some audio project on different SOM/SOC boards, now my task is to bring an i2s DAC on RK3399. I use external high-quality clock for i2s and need to make the Rockchip the masterclock slave. This is the case where I find no tail to pull yet, due to VERY cumbersome device tree, poorly documented and poorly explored. For instance, the CPU datasheet says that I2S_MCLK is output only, whilst I could find the opposite in the TRM. Moreover, the clock tree explained there, says that I can use CLKIN_I2S not only for i2s interfaces, but for spdif also! (Also there is explained some "bitclock slave mode", it's even implemented in the DAI driver,…

  24. Hi, in my case the test is on a Rock64 (4GB, v2 edition) using latest current Buster or Focal. The problem is in the first init configuration assistant. When selecting the "User language based on your location", after selecting es_AR.UTF-8 (I am from Argentina) it "auto-detects" my keyboard layout as AR which belongs to Arabic iirc (which is wrong). After this of course I can't type anything right on terminal. I had to fix it over ssh by issuing the command: sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration.

  26. I'd like some help please. The ethernet device naming seems inconsistent and sometimes changes following reboots. Sometimes one interface comes up as eth0 and sometimes as eth1, and sometimes not at all. The enp1s0 interface seems to reliably come up, but not with the right config (sometimes it uses the config for enp1s0 and sometimes for eth0). I am trying to assign status IP addresses (on different networks) to each interface, but because of the unreliable bringup of the network interfaces, I can't get a config that starts up correctly and consistency on reboots or cold boots. However I now hear that it's much more stable. I been using ZFS on FreeBSD without any issues for years and I would prefer it but it seems that it's a hit and miss to get it working. I just did and it was very easy but I read that people have random issues with upgrades etc. Any thoughts? Thanks! a

  45. Trying to set frequencies and governor for both types of CPUs on this processor. armbian-config sets the max freq and governor correctly for the two big proccesors but no config for little. Tried cpufreq-set for little, but it does not respect governor. If its set to a freq is stays there indefinitely, and if conservative governor is set the max freq goes back to 1.5. How do we set max freq to 1.2 for little, and governor to conservative and have both stick like big does with armbian-config?

  46. Having downloaded the Armbian OS for my Cubox-i, I am using Gparted on MXLinux to prepare my 32Gb microUSB card for installing the extracted image. My initial problem is that I have to select the partition table type to install, from a list with msdos being the default. Is msdos the correct type or should I use one of the others offered (sun, gpt, bsd, dvh, aix, loop, pc98, amiga, atari, mac) Once that is done, what filesystem should I use to create the new partition as there are so many choices available. I appreciate any help you can provide to get me going. Thanks Ashdown

For Allwinner SoCs, there is FEL boot tool to download bootloader, kernel and initramfs to ram and to boot the system directly, without writing those stuff onto flash storage and performing a reset; I wonder whether there is a tool to achieve the same function for rockchip SoCs? or we could modify the usbplug and rkdeveloptool to implement the function? or there are any limitations to prevent it? any comments or advices?

Dear members of the forums. I am shopping for a new single board computer, already have a few manufacturers, but I am not sure yet. Couple years ago I bought BPI-M2U from Sinvoip, and I regretted that soon. Sinvoip was not providing good documentation nor open source contributions of drivers. So to avoid the same situation, I'd like to ask which manufacturers are co-share, contribute to open source and don't sell boards with schematic errors? Orange Pi (4) Khadas (Vim3) Friendly Elec (m4) Odroid (N2) Thank you in advance and sorry if this is not the right forum.

Hi, I've got an Odroid HC2 with Armbian Buster and OMV on it, and the SD card I used it with got corrupted. So I salvaged all the files from it and backups, and restored the whole file structure onto a new SD card, with an ext4 MBR primary partition. Now, my concern is, how can I make this bootable? I can boot the HC2 off a throwaway newly installed Armbian, and access the target SD card through a USB card reader. I could google that armbian-config is used to install the bootloader, but apparently it can only do that to the card which has been used to boot the device in the first place. Any suggestions? thanks

  91. Hello there, I am using Armbian 20.11.6 Buster with Linux 4.4.213-rk3399 on a Nanopi M4V2, I have connected 3 SATA HDDs and use mdadm (for a RAID 5 Array of those drives), luks lvm and ext4 (in that order, more details below) to store my backups. `armbianmonitor -u` link: http://ix.io/2NYv Recently I have received errors in borg backup, about mismatching checksums. To confirm that this error is not a borg specific error, I wrote this little zsh script to write data and generate checksums. for ((i = 0; i < 100; i++)); do dd if=/dev/urandom bs=4M count=256 | tee $i | md5sum | sed '/^a/!s/.$/'"$i"'/' > $i.sum To be more precise…

Hello, I've the Pi One H3 version that I always used with a HDMI to VGA adapter that worked ok until lately that stopped working. So I was thinking to connect the board to a TV monitor having DVI connection. I've tried both stable and experimental version of Armbian o.s. and it shows the same problem, basically it boots ok at native resolution (1280x768 60Hz) until it starts the desktop GUI and it goes to "no signal". If I return to the text console mode the monitor feel the signal again and at the same native panel resolution. I've tried both HDMI to DVI adapter at the monitor side and also an HDMI to DVI adapter and using a DVI cable on the board side and noth…

http://www.cubietech.com/ website is available and even lists CB9 for sale ! But http://cubieboard.org/ website which provides support for CubieBoard (and O.S images) is down ! What gives ? Is CubieTech dead or alive ? Where can I find any (new or old) Linux images ? (for Cubieboard 4, specifically; I also had Cubieboard 3 / CubieTruck lying somewhere, but I can't find it anymore ...) A new Debian like v10 "Buster" or v11 "Bullseye" will support outdated Cubieboards ? Thanks in advance,

  96. Hello. I'm running "Armbian 20.11.6 Focal" on an Odroid-C2 board. Today, after an "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade", the OS name changed from "Armbian 20.11.6 Focal" to "Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS". The changes has been done from the package "11ubuntu5.3" (https://launchpadlibrarian.net/519827877/base-files_11ubuntu5.2_11ubuntu5.3.diff.gz) on the files "/etc/issue" and "/etc/issue.net". Well, is that a problem under an "Armbian" point of view? Should I replace "Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS" with "Armbian 20.11.6 Focal" on the files "/etc/issue" and "/etc/issue.net"? Thanks.

I'm using Buster on the Neo3 but am having an issue using an MT7610 USB wireless NIC. I believe the 7610 is on the list of supported devices, so am not sure if I'm hitting an issue with the build? 98. Dear all, I used win32diskimager to write the armbian image on a 8G sd card and everything works good. when I finish working on the image I read the final image also by using win32diskimager, the size of this image is right now 8G since the sd card size is 8G. After that I wrote this 8G image on a 16 G sd card. when I check the size of this new sd card after writing the 8G image it shows that the sd card size is 8G not 16 G. So, please how can I read an image from a 8G sd card and write it to a 16 G sd card and the size of the sd card remains 16 G to be used later. Best regards

Hi All, I have a RockPi4B and am using Armbian buster 5.9.14 downloaded from the RockPi page. One of my main motivations for getting the RockPi4 was its hardware AES capabilities.
