I can't synchronize the clock using my GPS module. I get this error message: ntpd[1345]: kernel reports TIME_ERROR: 0x41: Clock Unsynchronized It only appears when I use my GPS source. When connecting to NTP servers, everything is okay. http://ix.io/2nUZ I tested it with older kernels, and it works, but I have then other issues. Any help are welcome.

Hello, new here. I'm trying to build a headless environment for my ORDOID N2 based on a stable Debian (hence Buster), but I need some packages which aren't in the Buster repo (e.g. a CLang >7). I've tried following some instructions I found for adding Bullseye testing repo, and it makes the packages available, but the installation doesn't go well. Is this an unreasonable thing to attempt? Can anyone offer any guidance for how to get newer packages onto my Buster build? (anyone know when Bullseye will become the stable release?)

And someone recommended this community..) The problem here is I have a GC2035 camera module that I inserted behind my Orange Pi one, I tried running "ls /dev/video*" to check if it can recognize my cam, and it can recognize it, the result is "/dev/video0" Now when i tried to run "fswebcam test.jpg", there was an error, the error was: No input was specified, using first. Hi, I'm not sure if Debian mainline supports this, but I can't get TV out on this board working after it starts the kernel. The boot loader shows up, but as soon as the message "starting kernel" or something, pops up, the signal cuts out. I've tried changing the boot.cmd, but it doesn't make much difference. I've seen suggestions to break into the u-boot console, but the keyboard doesn't work there. I'm afraid it works only in serial mode. Any ideas? Thanks!

  9. I am using a Banana Pi M2 Zero to control my 3D printer controller. It works perfectly running Armbian through the USB port but I need to switch to UART for 2 reasons. First I could not disable USB Otg so it's pumping voltage into the board and the display is washed out form the additional power. Second, it is impossible to use a USB cable because the USB port is only accessible from the outside in the steel enclosure. I used armbian config to disable USB and then select UART 3 to use GPIO pins 8 and 10 but can't get it to work. I keep getting a Failed to init error Is that all the config I need to do? If not what else? The overlay in my c…

  12. I've noted that 'armbianmonitor -u' will obfuscate some detail such as IPv4 addresses prior to uploading, but it misses similar additional detail: IPv6 addresses, specifically 'global' scope, are left intact. These are on interface configurations and in resolv.conf configurations at least. 'domain' and 'search' directives in resolv.conf are left intact. These can (would) include local domain names, which may be sensitive outside of a given environment. username is exposed in showing group membership. This may be minor but in some cases may be sensitive outside of a given environment, and perhaps can be shown anonymously such as '### Group membership o…

This isn't Armbian per se, but I thought it worth mentioning for anyone considering a SOPine Baseboard. Pine chose a small coaxial power jack instead of the micro USB for the main 5V input. This jack is kind of an odd size, but it also seems pretty fragile, especially when the extra leverage of a power cable is added to it. I broke the mount on mine within the first 20 minutes of use. It still worked as it was just the mechanical mount, but it became position sensitive and a pain to use. You can still power the board via the Euler bus, and that's what I switched to instead. If this isn't appropriate for this forum, please feel free to move it (or d…

  25. It seems my OrangePi Prime was loosing stability over the years. It was working fine initially, then it was hanging up from time to time - and now it no longer can boot on stock armbian settings. It bootloops on "Starting kernel ..." in serial console. But when I set voltage to 1.3v in armbianEnv.txt - it booted ok. So it seems to be a hardware issue. Does anyone know if there is CPU VDD test point somewhere, or which regulator is responsible for CPU voltage?

If I remember correctly, xiaomi-elish hardware is very related to xiaomi-alioth, to the point of some of the code for PMOS being shared, obviously each hardware has it's quirks but, I think it's possible, i do have the device for testing, and I have some knowledge of programming, but I can learn more in the process.

On attempting to disable `sound.target` in a Nanopi Neo3 I noticed that both `alsa-state.service` and `alsa-restore.service` use the same `ConditionPathExists=!/etc/alsa/state-daemon.conf` (apparently called Card State Management Schemes). This contrasts with the unit files on my host system, with `alsa-state.service` using `ConditionPathExists=/etc/alsa/state-daemon.conf` and `alsa-restore.service` using `ConditionPathExists=!/etc/alsa/state-daemon.conf`. What is the reason for using both services within the same scheme?
