  21. Description emmc and sdio clock registers on rk322x were not exactly properly configured in kernel source code, causing the clock to be not precisely aligned. 27. Description Uboot v2024.01 leaves HDMI/VOP and USB ports in a state that is not liked by vendor kernel tools (eg. the Multitool), thus making their usage difficult or impossible. These patches will assert the resets for HDMI, VOP and USB ports and deassert them on uboot exit, so the kernel (any kernel) will find them in active and "clean" state. Nerd note: the USB nodes in uboot device tree do not have the reset properties. Adding the reset properties makes the USB ports undetectable to the kernel because uboot - on purpose - leaves the devices with the reset asserted. To let the kernel detect the ports, you have to add the reset properties in the kernel device tree too…

  29. Description Introduce a driver that leverages the virtual poweroff feature of Trust OS for rk322x that allow Power On with IR remote controller KEY_POWER. It brings the board into suspended state (ie: "virtual poweroff") on shutdown and resumes power when the user pushes KEY_POWER of the remote controller. 43. Description This patch has been mainlined in the kernel for both v6.6.37 and somewhere in v6.9.y branch too.. There are several reports that it broke rk3328 pinctrl and, as the worst side effect, eMMC controller does not work anymore on rk3318/rk3328 (reports on the forums: this, this and this) I identified the single line that is causing the issue; reverting the single change fixes the bad pinctrl behaviour in my case. 44. Description One user on the forum (see https://forum.armbian.com/topic/27798-orange-pi-4-lts-default-thermal-trip-point-issues/) found issues with Orange PI 4 LTS thermal trip points. Looking into the problem, it is related to a patch introduced long time ago that changed the thermal trip points away from the vendor (and mainline kernel too) supplied ones. After some stress testing with openssl and mbw combined, my board froze and I had to shutdown it manually, let it cool and restart to have again a working system. It happens that, at least on my and forum user cases, the trip points are not doing what they expect to do. This patch corrects the trip points for Opi4 LT…

  50. Description The general improvements for RK3588 on 6.9 and 6.10 weren't as many as we've hoped, but still this is what was mainlined: USB3 DRD support, including PHY usbdp HDMI PHY GPU We already had most of those features patched in via patches, but this gives us the chance to finally be able to remove those and stay closer to mainline. -> PR summary: (+5,895 - 28,098) ~= 22,000 lines less 👍 (meaning less hassles in the future, less maintenance needed) In addition to that, I have also updated our patch to support RK3588 thermal sensors and management, enabling and improving the use of cooling fans. This patch also includes updates for CpuFreq and OPP. We had an o…

  54. Description While the NanoPi R6C can in theory also use an Armbian image built for the NanoPi R6S like described on the Armbian website, it was not a user-friendly solution at all. Add the R6C as separate board with support for the latest mainline U-Boot. The R6S is a solid little machine with one M.2 slot for a NVMe SSD as well as two Ethernet ports (1x 1G, 1x 2.5G), two USB-A (USB2 and USB3) ports and even an integrated chip for UART debugging, so you only need to connect a USB-C cable for debugging instead of the three cables with a separate UART-USB adapter. Description Enable the current kernel branch for some RK3588 boards, which was introduced in https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/6699 current is kernel version 6.8 at the moment and should stay a more stable alternative than edge, which is often a rc kernel. This is useful when using the board as daily driver for example or when you don't want anythign at all to suddenly break. current will stay at the next LTS kernel once released.
