  1. Hi Igor, Thank you for all your work. I was looking at your website and found out that page with Bananapis is missing some content (FAQ is missing, I assume that it is the same as on orange pi pages. Also in "Graphics desktop environment upgrade ready. (kernel 3.4.x only) Possible further upgrade to desktop hardware acceleration." - upgrade ready has broken link). Some parts of text looks like outdated too. Would you be a modern superman with unlimited free time and update that page? I am interested in accelerated desktop environment and all 2D acceleration. But I was unsuccessful in finding more about it. OK, I have not found anything. Would you be so king and give…

  2. I keep my Lime2 updated with apt-get update/apt-get upgrade, but it does not upgrade the u-boot, that is still an old version: U-Boot SPL 2015.07-armbian-sun7i (Oct 11 2015 - 17:17:10) DRAM: 1024 MiB CPU: 912000000Hz, AXI/AHB/APB: 3/2/2 Because the network speed is not that fast, I suspect this could be solved with a more recent u-boot. How do I update the Lime2 bootloader to a recent u-boot without re-downloading an image and re-installing all my software and data? It looks like there is already a recent u-boot.bin file on the system... # ls -l /usr/lib/nand-sata-install/a20/bootloader/linux/ -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 152 May 23 22:35 linux.ini -rw-r--r-- 1 root…

Hi. I have an issue configuring the board: no hugepage configured. I installed the command line Ubuntu. No I am in command line via SSH. Everything is ok. With a NanoPi Fire3, OrangePi Pc2 and an OrangePi Zero H5 I had not this issue. The folder /sys/kernel/mm/hugepages does not exist; the folder /proc/sys/vm has not the value or file that tells how mutch is the hugepages amount.

  5. Dear all, I copied Armbian 4.5 (on cubietruck with kernel 4.3.3) from SD to SSD using the script "nand-sata-install.sh". The resulting system with /boot from SD and rootfs on SSD works fine. However, the "Welcome to Armbian" message generated upon login contains the error message "df: cannot access ‘/dev/sda1’: over-mounted by another device" (see below). It seems to be related to mounting /boot from SD. Hi. I have Cubieboard 1 with Armbian Jessie installed on NAND. I've tried to disable output during boot as described here: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Fine-Tuning/#how-to-toggle-boot-output, but there are no existing boot.cmd and boot.scr in boot partition. I've found out that uEnv.txt have same purpose but it seems that editing this file doesn't affects arguments, /proc/cmdline remains the same.

Currently it is performing as Full-Speed (12.5 MegaBytes/second) usb port. Hi, I've tried to use the Ubuntu Xenial Mainline 4.9.4 server on my orange pi one. The u-boot log messages appear on the HDMI monitor but after the "Starting Kernel" message, the monitor shows "No Signal". I can still acess it through SSH. Executing dmesg, there is a log "simple-framebuffer: probe of 59f42000.framebuffer failed with error -12". I'm new to Linux, Is there a way I can fix it ? Thx.

  21. Hi, A few weeks ago I downloaded the actual Debian Buster version without desktop. I installed the OS and moved the filesystem to the attached SATA disk. I been using Iceweasel and Epiphany Browser (I can find Midori on the included repositories) but are completely unusable. I've been playing with an old pcduino2 and have got the latest mainline server version of Armbian installed on it. Very impressive. However, it appears to have only a single I2C bus and no SPI devices. Would it be possible for it to wake from sleep if one of the GPIO pins were pulled high, for instance? TIA, -Jim

Then, converted it to spidev.ko.xz ( xz -v spidev.ko) and replaced the original file under /lib/modules/5.15.85-sunxi/kernel/drivers/spi/spidev.ko.xz The new module works fine when I install it manually: insmod /lib/modules/5.15.85-sunxi/kernel/drivers/spi/spidev.ko.xz However, after the reboot the original 4096-byte version of "spidev" module is loaded magically.…

Yesterday I nearly burned my orange pi zero because of the faulty LAN cable, after that, everything I plugged into the expansion board couldn't be detected anymore by lsusb or dmesg, it works fine though if I plug in my thumb drive / usb wifi into the usb port on the main board (Next to the LAN port). How do I know for sure that my expansion board is broken and not the pin headers in the main board ? I'm not an electronic guy I don't know anything about soldering and stuff.

Hackaday desctibes how to interface a Raspberry Pi B+ to an ESP-12F (https://hackaday.io/project/8678/instructions), but the Neo seems to lack some of the required pins. I like this idea since I've liked the performance and ability of every esp8266 system I've used. Their wifi network is solid, and they're low cost. Is this a lost cause or is it possible? Or perhaps this is a dumb idea? I'm not sure how well it'll perform vs a usb wifi modules, but the idea has captured my imagination.

  94. I have seen this old thread but since last post was long time ago and it was shell based I decided to go with new one ... 95. I am trying to setup a 5ghz access point on D-Link DWA-171(according to wikidevi, it's 8811au) + NanoPI NEO PLUS2. I use the testing armbian image with latest update. The hostapd can enable the 802.11a 5ghz AP mode with ht_enabled (but it says this chip doesn't support 802.11ac) I can see the SSID shows in the phone. If I try to connect it, it will fail and says the station is out of range. When the phone is trying to connect this AP, hostapd doesn't output any connection log even in debug mode. Also, although I set the channel to 40, the WIFI analyzer on the phone shows it is using 38. dmesg Spoiler …

  96. Hello. I failed to switch from legacy to mainline kernel on my OPi 2 mini (it's an OPi 2 without onboard wifi). I installed the packages: linux-image-dev-sun8i linux-headers-dev-sun8i linux-firmware-image-dev-sun8i and rebooted, but the system hangs at "Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel." (from serial console), green led solid on and ethernet port leds both solid on, no output on HDMI. Then I found this thread and tried to set the clock, but boot fails the same. 97. I have certain problem when using ssh on my Orange Pi zero. When I am connected through on-board wifi module the ssh panel have a lot of lag when I am writting commands. However I am not experiencing the same problem when I am connecting through ethernet. I can't understand if that's a case of bad connection as I have the same behaviour even if I put my pi next to my router. I know that the on-board wifi module is not the best but it seems that its unusable. Anyone has any relative problem? Is there any solution or its just hardware based and I need an external wifi dongle?

  98. Hello, recently got a pinebook. I have a strong Linux-on-PC-user background (running ArchLinux on my desktop & older netbook, and debian oldstable on my home server laptop), but not really a developer background and no experience with single board computers at all! Ubuntu Mate is happily chugging along right now, but video playback (h264 packed in .mkv) is abysmal to non-existent. I have tried these releases; the stable 0.6.2 first: AFAICS, it uses a frambuffer driver (fbturbo) under Xorg. video playback was more than choppy, and the UX drops to zero because the video window can't be resized and sticks to the screen, …

  100. The freedombox.org is libre software. The software provides a server solution having a list of preinstalled programs. This post is about if the orange pi one can get a libre software version of the freedombox installed on it. The orangepi one is interesting because of its price and performance. What determines if you can install a libre software image on an arm computer? Is it uboot support? Can you install a libre software version of the freedombox on an orange pi one? The freedombox people say, if you can install pure debian on an arm computer, you can install the freedombox too. Can I ask…
