Hello, I'm using a Banana Pi P2-Zero based on H3 and I want to get Ethernet running. To no avail so far... When building the image, I use this parameters: BOARD=bananapim2zero BRANCH=current RELEASE=jammy BUILD_MINIMAL=no BUILD_DESKTOP=no I use the customize-image.sh script, but I don't change anything related to the drivers (or so I think). There are no patches, overlays or anything like that. Hello, I run Debian/Jessie on a bananapi pro. The board suddenly stopped working completely. When I plug the power supply, the red led shows up (not blinking) and nothing more, no sign of activity at all, like on screen (hdmi). It is very surprising as it has been running very well for two years now, with a 5V/3A power supply and a sandisk SD card (like those advised). I checked that the sd card runs well on my laptop, the filesystem was not broken and no sign of corruption so far, especially in the /boot directory, no changes made lastly in this directory : latest modification dater are a few months ago. …

There is only one thing, what I don't know how to do: I need to patch rtl28xxu.c before compiling or /even better/ if it possible to compile this module only and overwrite the .ko file at "/lib/modules/4.0.4-bananapi/kernel/.....folder". Could you help me please how can I do that? At line 1612 I need to change: - rc->interval = 400; to this: + rc->interval = 200; Thank you very much! Gyuri

I have installed the IMG Debian Wheezy With kernel 3.4.x, when income Rpi monitoring tells me I have 11 upgradeable packages, but if I run apt-get update and apt-get upgrade returns me that there is nothing to update. Moreover Igor saw yesterday published an update, it is possible to upgrade without reinstalling everything? The problem that I have and which I intend to upgrade is that once a day or once every two days or ethernet banana itself hangs and can not access until I restart the banana pi. In the failed "state" pinging it still works, but SSH connections to the Orangepi or from the Orangepi to the Server via Autossh won't work any more. A PHP application running on it is still working. 31. I have an Orange Pi PC Plus running the mainline Debian Stretch desktop version of Armbian, but lately I've been using it headless. When I'm logged in over ssh and shutdown it down using "sudo shutdown -h now", the ssh connection drops and the board's LED flashes then shuts off, giving every indication the board is off. However, power consumption doubles (increasing from ~1.2W to ~2.4 W)! The problem persists as long as the board is powered, so I presume the board is hung and never fully shutdown. Any thoughts as to what could be causing the board to hang when shutting down?

Hi guys, I'm a bit lost with this one. I want to setup a way of basically reinstalling a NanoPi Neo over the network. My thought process is: 1. Boot from NFS. 2. In the boot process have a script that runs the nand-sata-install.sh (or modified version of). 3. Reboot with new OS from USB. Now, I'm sure I can get this working, the bit that I am having trouble working out is how the bootloader will know if we should be loading from NFS or USB. Can UBoot grab this from the network? Ideally this will also be done without SSH access. I know this is a complicated problem but any guidance in the right direction will be really appreciated. Thanks!

  43. Started by David Raison,

I downloaded and booted successfully from the Debian Jessie image available on http://www.armbian.com/olimex-lime-a10/ for the LIME. Now I'd like to install an image to NAND, but there's currently no 3.4 kernel version available for the A10. (I've also checked the mirror). I was wondering (before breaking my neck trying to build it) whether this was simply due to no image having been built yet, or due to some circumstances making it impossible to run a 3.4 on the LIME A10? Thanks

  44. Is there anything that can be done about it? Something will start(e.g. minisatip, mumudvb) to disproportionately use the cpu and after a short time it will crash completely. A similar configuration works well on an OPI PC(Linux orangepipc 4.10.1-sun8i #1 SMP Sun Mar 5 18:47:02 CET 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux), but with newer versions it behaves just as incorrectly. I've tested other images (ubuntu, debian), but it's the same everywhere.

The page for the Banana Pi image says: "Known bugs or limitations Latest 3.4.107 image have some stability issues. Build from sources or wait for update." I have some questions about this: - What kind of stability issues should I expect? I am seeing some network problems currently, however a lot of hardware in my network was replaced recently so I'm not sure if the banana pi is the source of these problems. The banana pi never locks up/show kernel oops/etc. - How would building from source help? I would expect to get the same image with the same problems. - When can I expect a new image to be available? Is it enough to download an old kernel from the archive? Or is t…

I build a custom shield for the NanoPi Neo with a MAX3485 taht is connected to the UART2 (TX,RX,RTS) but so far only transmission works. This is because the RTS pin which I planned to use for toggling the direction pins is always high. I tried to use ioctrl to have it been toggled automatically, but had no success so far. I'm tried to figure out whats the problem and I believe that the configuration of the UART2 does not include the RTS signal: cat /proc/tty/driver/uart |head -8 serinfo:1.0 driver revision: 0: uart:SUNXI mmio:0x01C28000 irq:…

  58. I'm working in a project that needs to use 12 GPIO pins (plus serial!) on the Orange Pi Zero. To achieve that, I need to disable at least one of the I2C interfaces in the 26-pin header. Following the instructions on https://linux-sunxi.org/I2Cdev, I have decompiled, edited and recompiled /boot/config.bin, but I still can't access any of the pins used by the I2C ports. Specifically, what I have done is to edit the decompiled script.bin.fex file, and in sections named [twi0] and [twi1], changed twi_used=1 to twi_used=0. After that, running a simple program that sets the pins to input and reads its status allways returns 1, even if the pin is connected to ground or…

Hello, I am using the Olimex OLinuxino and I find a constant noise at about 866.725MHz or thereabout in every board. While low, at -100dBm, when using it with IoT radios this is the band in India and it is quite a pain in applications requiring high sensitivity. This particular board had it pretty nasty at -86dB. I have tried with changing the DDR frequency as well as the CPU clock, however this nuisance refuses to go away. What can be done to get rid of this noise ? I have tried multiple boards -- Olinuxino (multiple), Marsboard, but each has some noise in exactly same band near 866MHz. Please advise.

Then, converted it to spidev.ko.xz ( xz -v spidev.ko) and replaced the original file under /lib/modules/5.15.85-sunxi/kernel/drivers/spi/spidev.ko.xz The new module works fine when I install it manually: insmod /lib/modules/5.15.85-sunxi/kernel/drivers/spi/spidev.ko.xz However, after the reboot the original 4096-byte version of "spidev" module is loaded magically.…

  92. Hi everyone, What I want to do is to use a DS18B20 through 1-Wire to read temperature on an OPi Zero. The sensor seems to be detected by the board (I see the file under /sys/bus/w1/devices/28-something), and then it disappears randomly after a reboot or a power cycle. (file goes away and obviously I can't get any readings). Then it starts working randomly again after an indefinite amount of reboots. I'm having this problem for a while now, and it's driving me absolutely crazy. This one here on the picture is the sensor I'm using. I have attached a 4.7K Ohm resistor between the VCC and Digital cables, and attache…

Hi everyone, i bought an OrangePI PC Plus as a Lab computer to google stuff and watch Youtube. I tried Debian_stretch_next_desktop_nightly.7z, nice desktop, but i figured that compiling the mali driver is a pain. Then i tried Debian_jessie_default.7z, installed xfce4, modprobe mali works out of the box but i seems like X11 doesn't utilize that. So how do i get youtube going smoothly in the most painless manner? Thanks a lot!

  94. Hi. I'm looking for your kernel sources 3.4.113 with Mali400Mp driver. Is there a repo where I can download it or I have to patch myself the sunxi-v3.4.104-r0 kernel. In case there is no repo and I have to do this myself could you please tell me if my approach is correct for cubieboard2 and cubietruck3. 1) Download the sunxi kernel 3.4.104-r0 2) Download the armbian sources 5.24 3) Patch the kernel 3.4.104-r0 using lib/patch/kernel/sun7i-default files Did I forget something ? It would be so much better if I could download your full patched kernel 3.4.113 with Mali400MP driver. I am far from being an expert in this work. Thx

  97. Hello, I am trying to use my NanoPi neo Plus 2 rev 1.2 board as KVM with help of (kvmd-armbian) and USB-HDMI capture card and USB-A to USB-A cable as OTG for emulation of Keyboard and mouse as HID. I discoverred that If I install "Armbian 23.02 Jammy with Kernel 5.15.y" like the install script from srepac/kvmd-armbian recommends, updated it and installed the srepac/kvmd-armbian piKVM, it installed properly and it is working BUT to my OTG USB HID connection to work I had to convert sun50i-h5-nanopi-neo-plus2.dtb to sun50i-h5-nanopi-neo-plus2.dts and in there find "dr_mode" and change it to peripheral (or otg) to get my HID OTG input to work w…

Armbian Legacy 5.56 Kernel 3.10 boots and installs to the eMMC (as long as ext2fs is picked). Armbian Dev 5.56 Kernel 4.19 does not boot from the SD Card at all (power LED and black screen). I don't have the serial console adapter (yet) so I don't know if there is something useful there.

  100. Hi, I have problems with NanoPi NEO on Allwinner H3 due to sudden sporadic Linux kernel overheating shut down. I'm using the Linux kernel 4.14 on Debian Trixie. The syslog shows: The hours before, the kernel shows above 80°C by: But there is not much load on it. When looking to "top" I see less then 10% as load average and more then 90% idle. "iotop" shows all processes <1%. And when measuring the chips, all are cool at below 40°C It looks like the CPU suddenly get into a hot-state above 80°C, because it stays there for hours independent from the process load. Even after a reboot command, the system comes up again and is still above un…
