  5. Started by sle118,

I am trying to setup a logitech squeezebox server on an Orange Pi Zero so that it can be carried around and serve my collection from a large micro-sd card. This is the 3rd iteration of this already (first was given as a gift, 2nd got fried by 12V, and now this one) and in the past I've been using hostapd to connect while away from home. I'd like to explore the possibility of using a Bluetooth Personal Area network, but I am not sure if there is a stack that can achieve this for me. The idea is that I would use bluetooth instead of wifi to connect to the orange pi zero and establish a tcp/ip connection that would allow me to control the server using the phone…

  7. I have my Orange Pi Zero flashed correctly (I think) with the green light solid and the red light flashing on every so often. I've got the unit plugged into a charger that provides sufficient power. The devices SoC warms up hinting that it is actually booting. When plugged into my network the activity LEDs do not flash nor does my router detect it. I'm considering connecting my keyboard to connect it to wifi blind. If I plug it in after boot nothing changes. What should I do? How can I connect it to my wifi blind? I do not have the shield for video out.

  8. recently I installed the Ubuntu Desktop on Orange Pi Zero 2+ H3 the Orange Pi Zero 2+ H3 device has only one micro USB OTG port during the first Armbian installation this port should be in dual mode -> power of course and in my opinion the second mode should be a HID gadget (g_hid) in this case we will be able to plug the keyboard via some micro USB hub and setup the system unfortunately this doesn't work like this and right now the installation process isn't so ease now the questions begins -> is it possible? Any clue how to do this? Thx PS I was able to do the installation because I have Orange Pi Zero E…

  11. Hi. I would like to install Armbian on Cubieboard2 with eMMC as internal storage and have faced some problems. The first challenge was to make eMMC accessible, it was solved using .fex from cubieboard sdk for this revision (also tried cubieboard2dual.fex, but without any effect). The second problem was behavior of nand-sata-install included in desktop image - it overwrite wrong root partition (external SD instead of eMMC), but it was also solved using latest version of nand-sata-install. But after installation, system isn't booting from eMMC. Since root filesystem is successfully copied to eMMC, I think there is problem with bootloader. Is there an…

Hello, my orange pi pc has recently started to have reduced speeds. Where I used to get the full 100Mbit on lan, I now get around 30Mbit, be it sftp, samba, http. I am able to write with consistent speeds of over 10MB/s on the microsd so that can't be the problem (using dd) and full ~30MB/s on the attached sata disk. uname -a Linux orangepipc 3.4.113-sun8i #10 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 23 19:55:00 CET 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux Any ideas what I can check?

As the title says, my OpiPC don't want to boot. It starts to boot, with UART console I can see u-boot loading and doing its job, but just when it would start the kernel the console gets borked with non-ascii characters. After this, the board just hangs there. I've tested with 3 different images (written out by Etcher), checked the images checksum and checked the SDcard with F3. This setup worked fine a month ago, when I last had the time to play with it. Since than, the board was just lying on my desk, turned off.

  50. I'm working in a project that needs to use 12 GPIO pins (plus serial!) on the Orange Pi Zero. To achieve that, I need to disable at least one of the I2C interfaces in the 26-pin header. Following the instructions on https://linux-sunxi.org/I2Cdev, I have decompiled, edited and recompiled /boot/config.bin, but I still can't access any of the pins used by the I2C ports. Specifically, what I have done is to edit the decompiled script.bin.fex file, and in sections named [twi0] and [twi1], changed twi_used=1 to twi_used=0. After that, running a simple program that sets the pins to input and reads its status allways returns 1, even if the pin is connected to ground or…

Since the Mainline kernel doesn't have Mail driver and hardware accelerated video decoding, I want to downgrade the kernel to Legacy 3.4.113. If I don't want to reinstall the whole system, is there anyway to replace the kernel with the old version? Many thks!

So I have used the iRedMail script to install and set up the components of the mail server. It seems to be working - I have received the standard opening 4 emails OK. 58. A board (nanopi neo) collects some information and stores it to SD card. Users than change the SD card and open it on PC (windows). Due windows limitation, there is only one (first) partition (fat/ntfs) can be visible. Current mainline image for nanopi neo contains only one ext4 partition, so I tried to gparted it (moved first partition and made new FAT16 one), but for some reason, the image did not boot. 64. Hi everybody, I recently purchased a Orange Pi Zero since I needed a tiny board, and after setting it up I noticed that the resolution didn't fit properly in a portable TV I was using. Doing some research (I'm a complete newbie), I found the command "h3disp" ot change resolution on Armbian for H2+ and H3 boards, so I gave it a try. Now it's completely black and no signal on AV IN. Thanks to a post in this site, I noticed that every command in h3disp was for HDMI outputs and that doesn't fit Orange Pi Zero since it supports PAL and NTSC only, so now after changing between 480i and 576i doesn't seem to be showing anything at all. Hello, I have what I hope is a simple question, but I haven't been able to find an answer. - Orange Pi Plus2e - Debian Jessie Linux is only booting to a console prompt. I can log in, browse around which is great but I would like to explore the GUI. As I understand there are some screen resolution issues, however I do see the Arbian spash screen which looks like rendered video. Also, I'm seeing that H2/H3 Allwinner part design is missing a lot of multimedia/video support eg. Mali drivers. Hi List, I have a cb2 with armbian kernel 4.9.12. I need to change some things in the kernel to use ptp. However I seem not to be able to download the kernel sources> sudo apt-get source linux-image-next-sunxi gives me the E: Unable to find a source package for linux-4.9.12-sunxi Error. I checked the directions for /etc/apt/sources.list.d/armbian.list but that was already in place Am I missing something?? Tx for any pointers! Jer
