Hi...Is support for using Mali GPU of Orangepi PC2 enabled for armbian? I'm trying to install the mesa-dri utilities and getting stuck in the libc-bin segmentation fault? Is it because of lack of support or something else? Also I'm getting issues of protobuf while compiling Opencv for Orangepi PC2. If anybody can help!!

Sir, I put ubuntu trusty image on Sd card in A20-micro-4gb board. I connected serial cable to uart0 connector which has 4 pins tx,rx,gnd,3.3v. But the log shown is strange. Minicom settings are 115200, 8N1. Please confirm that debug interface is on uart0 or any other pins.

Hi everyone, I am having issues with video output on my A20-micro when using legacy kernel. I get the proper output from uboot, but when it starts to load the kernel, I get some garbage on the screen, then nothing. I had a look through the forums to no avail. My boot logs are uploaded to http://sprunge.us/dGhS From what I see, the default kernel command line seems to be correct for my purpose. The system is up and running as I can login through serial and SSH. I tried setting the resolution with a10disp but I got the following response: "Cannot change HDMI mode because HDMI is not enabled." Anyone has a clue on what I am missing ? Than…

I'm running some stress test on the NanoPi neo2 512mb, CPU heating reached 75-76 degrees, and it's stable, the problem that I faced is that the computer changed it's IP suddenly (after 55 minutes of test running), I guess it's because of a network card reset. Did anyone face the following issue? Is it related to the stress test? Or it's another networking problem? The test I'm running is with the "stress" tool, running long time stress on 4 CPUs. In addition, does anyone have any insights regarding this device? good or bad?

Hello, how to enable analog tvout? I have OpiPC board with legacy jessie desktop armbian image. I added module tv in /etc/modules. I change script.bin with: [disp_init] disp_init_enable = 1 disp_mode = 1 screen0_output_type = 3 screen0_output_mode = 10 screen1_output_type = 2 screen1_output_mode = 11 fb0_format = 0 fb0_width = 0 fb0_height = 0 fb1_format = 0 fb1_width = 0 fb1_height = 0 [tv_para] tv_used = 1 tv_dac_used = 1 tv_dac_src0 = 0 But there is no signal at all... I checked tvout with loboris ubuntu image (added "tv" to /etc/modules and fixed script.bin) and my tvout worked well. I noticed that when ubuntu image is loading tvout already gives to…

i run a cubietruck on armbian with 4.6.2 kernel. it starts with the software on mmcblk0p1 (with kernel 4.6.2 and the /lib dir on the sd) but uses as root a partition of the ssd. when i upgrade now, i see that the upgrade process produces a new initrd.img-4.6.3 and removes the old 4.6.2. (diagnosis: the system runs, but the keyboard/mouse connected to the usb is not functional - desktop over net works!) i assume that there is something wrong with the boot.cmd - but i do not see exactly how to fix it. the upgrade process uses the ssd .../lib directory and removes 4.6.2 there. if i would mount the /boot directory with the running system (in fstab) - would this hel…

Hello, now my system is running well on my Cubietruck: (ARMBIAN Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS 4.8.1-sunxi) Booting from SDCard rootfs on SSD (installed via nand-sata-install script) Whereas a image backup of SDCard is easy, how to backup my rootfs on SSD for system fallback Szenario: Is there any good script to backup rootfs of SSD with shrinking function to get small backup files? simply TAR of "/" of SSD? Use of webmin backup functionality (howto store this backup on network drive outside my Cubietruck)? Best Regards, Martin

Hello, I'm using Armbian Xenial with ethernet on my local network. SSH and PostgreSQL seem to disconnect a lot. This is really frustrating with sshfs when I try to work with files on the Orange Pi Zero as a file server.. I tried setting a keepalive every second and that doesn't help either. I don't see anything in the logs that hints to anything. I have not attempted to use wifi. I did just notice the timezone was wrong, so I'll see tomorrow if that has something to do with it.

Hi, I'm facing a problem with my Orange Pi Zero with the latest Armbian version. I noticed that when I provide an internet connection type that is not valid (wrong psk, ethernet but no cable plugged in, etc.) and I reboot the system, it hangs just before asking the username and password. Sometimes it takes up to 10 minutes before keeping going. These are the last boot logs that I see: [ 11.209226] systemd[1]: Starting Create list of static device nodes for the current kernel... [ 11.219428] systemd[1]: Condition check resulted in Load Kernel Module drm being skipped. [ 11.244988] systemd[1]: Started Nameserver information m…

Good evening! Thats my first post, I have for a year a Orangepi 3 LTS that I used for my kid, he looks that never switch off the unit by software and use the switch all the time, so suddenly the unit dont boot anymore, the SD card partition table was corrupt, so I mounted a new OS in another SD but does not boot, the green light is not coming anymore. So I connected a TTL to USB Serial device for debugging and it shows the following information: U-Boot SPL 2021,10-orangepi (Sep 06 2022 - 18:22:23 +0800) PMU: AXP806 DRAM: 2048 MiB Trying to boot from MMC2 NOTICE: NOTICE NOTICE NOTICE: INFOS NOTICE NOTICE: INFO: INFO: INFO? I'm using an Olimex LIME2 board with an A20 processor (actually it's a Olimex A20-SOM, but that shouldn't matter) and trying to use PWM. I have an older image (jessie with Kernel 3.4) where the PWM hardware can be accessed through /sys/class/pwm-sunxi/pwm*/{duty, duty_percent, period, pin, polarity, pulse, run}. Now I'm building a newer image (xenial with Vanilla kernel). It has /sys/class/pwm, but the directory is empty. Any ideas? The fex file is the same for both boards; the relevant section is: [pwm0_para] pwm_used = 1 pwm_period = 10000 pwm_duty_percent = 50 [pwm1_para] pwm_used = 1 pwm_period = 10000 pwm_duty_percent = 50

Guys, please help. I installed one orange pi plus 2e and orange pi one in following way: first server image (legacy kernel) then kernel upgrade to mainline. Everything works just fine, except I do not receive kernel updates. If I understood well, kernel should be upgraded via apt dist-upgrade.. But nothing. Hello, I have an an orange Pi plus 2+. I had installed armbian ubuntu 18.04.2 on it. I used it only on wired network, and I experienced that the downloading speed is perfect, but the uploading speed is very slow. So at the network synchronous, the upload is same fast as download. On the same wiring and with another device I have not noticed this phenomenon before. Do you know what can be the reason of this? Speedtest:

Hey everyone. I have an MK802 II stick, which has the A10 s.o.c, so i use the Olinuxino Lime a10 image on it. Everything works pretty much fine, except one little thing. This machine has worked fine with non-standard resolutions, like 1440x900, or 1280x1024. Now, when i turn it on, the U-boot screen appears correctly, it even shows that it set the resolution to 1440x900, and after that, the monitor says "signal out of range". Of course, it works well with a 1080p monitor, but i wanted to use this one too. Thanks!

Today I noticed that last Sunday a community version of Armbian was released with Orange Pi 4A support. I tried to flash it in different ways just in case, but it just wouldn't boot. I used BalenaEtcher, Rufus and Armbian Imager and neither of them worked. Im new in this stuff, so I wanted to know if someone could tell me if it is something I'm doing wrong.

Greetings, all! I've got a LeMaker A20 BananaPro, on which I'm using the Armbian mainline distribution (for a more complete description of my setup, please see below). I'm using a serial console to the board; I'm not connecting anything to HDMI for display. I'm running the distribution off of a brand new 8Gig SanDisk Extreme Pro. I've been struggling for a while to get raspberry pi HAT type LCD to working. I've been working with loboris images before until recently that I've heard that armbian has cooked a new image for orangepi with newer kernel. In the description of images it is clearly indicated that the image works with small screen lcds which it seems to be true because there is no error when I want to load a notro module and it successfully loads. Hello, to all OrangePI PC enthusiasts. Well I'm in the community of those who definitely underestimated the Orange of the PI, but let me share my burden :-) for the fun of it. It started with the camera- gc2035 and vfe_v4l2 modules. Had to try a couple of images until I got it by luck I guess - after that I found out that every image I use is not capable of having a FTDI device connected to "ANY" USB Port (OK, you got me, I didn't try the microUSB and I won't). After that I tried no matter what I wanted to connect to USB it was not even recognized. Now I'm back in changing/swapping around Images until I found one that let me plug anything I …

Hi! I'm trying to use the image Cubietruck_Debian_3.8_jessie_4.0.4.raw with my CubieTruck, but run into problems when trying to use an external LUKS-disk which is encrypted using aes-xts-plain64. 'cryptsetup luksOpen' informs the following: device-mapper: reload ioctl on failed: No such file or directory Failed to setup dm-crypt key mapping for device /dev/disk/by-uuid/<xxxx>. Check that kernel supports aes-xts-plain64 cipher (check syslog for more info). 'cat /proc/crypto | grep name' lists only this, which seems kinda minimal: name : stdrng name : stdrng name : crc32c name : deflate name : ecb(arc4) name …

I tested the actual Xenial on my BPP but got a crashdump each time I reboot or shutdown the system. I found, that armhwinfo was causing this crash by removing the module a20_tp. Disabling the line /sbin/modprobe -r $(cut -f1 -d' ' </proc/modules) in /etc/init.d/armhwinfo avoid this problem. This line is part of a patch Thomas Kaiser introduced in October last year. I don't know, if this problem occurs only in my configuration (nothing special, but a connected Lemaker 5" LCD may be the difference), or it is related to the Kernel 3.4.113 only, but it goes reproducably wrong, if this line is active. It cause the oposite of the intention of this patch, because after…

I've got an Orange Pi Zero Plus running Armbian Bionic. I'm trying to add a virtual wifi interface so I can create a wifi hotspot so I can connect to it easily on remote networks. iw list shows that the adapter *should* be capable of adding an additional interface. I'm trying, with no success, to make a 3,5 inch tft lcd screen function with an orange pi zero plus (h5) via SPI. I will love if someone could help me diagnose the reason why I'm failing in doing so. The screen in question is a WaveShare knockoff -> link (the pinout can be found at the bottom of the page.) I'm running Armbian buster 5.92 with the kernel 4.19.63 and all packages upgraded. I also have a working serial connection (using the UART pins located next to Ethernet jack on the board) and am using the 'screen' program to communicate with the device. When connecting the screen and turning on the board the leds on the screen turn…

Hi, after the update from Armbian 5.23 to 5.25 on a Banana Pi M2+ board, the MAC address and CPU serial number have changed. My OrangePi Zero is on 23.02 and I intend to stay with it (unless/until xradio wifi works on kernel 6.x). Just ran apt update and it shows these available packages: armbian-config/bullseye,bullseye 23.08.0-trunk--1-SA9048-Baeda all [upgradable from: 23.02.2] armbian-firmware/bullseye,bullseye 23.08.0-trunk--1-SA1251-B226d all [upgradable from: 23.02.2] armbian-zsh/bullseye,bullseye 23.08.0-trunk--1-SAbfee-Baf88 all [upgradable from: 23.02.2] I'm surprised to see anything related to 23.08 seeing as that version hasn't been released yet, so obviously I don't really understand what it means to be seeing this. Hi everyone! Follow instructuions https://linux-sunxi.org/Sunxi-Cedrus to setup hw decoding everyone need kernel with flags: CONFIG_MEDIA_SUPPORT CONFIG_MEDIA_CONTROLLER CONFIG_MEDIA_CONTROLLER_REQUEST_API CONFIG_V4L_MEM2MEM_DRIVERS CONFIG_VIDEO_SUNXI_CEDRUS Images from armbian repo is without one of them - CONFIG_V4L_MEM2MEM_DRIVERS So my proposal is to make kernel for desktop prebuilds with this flag, if its possible ofcourse. Im understand that is opensourse project, so my help can be like that - i have really much space on Y.Drive and i can share folder to minimize download usage of armbian repo.

hello dear all, good day dear Armbian-experts recently i have managed to get Armbian up and running on a Banana Pi. I was very very glad. now i am digging deeper into the system and try to learn all the necessary things. regarding another system: on orange pi -pc i want to install armbian - from this page https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ i fetch Armbian Stretch mainline kernel 4.14.y Server or light desktop usage scenarios. Stable question: can i upgrade after the installation the system to the newest kernel... ?!? Is this possible?
-
So I have a weird problem that I haven't seen yet, so forgive me if its already been answered. But for some reason mainline kernels (bionic and stretch) both bootloop at the same place. Seen below: The board boots perfectly fine on legacy kernel though. I'm using decent quality Samsung SD cards, and I've tried every combination of usb cable/powerbrick as well as the barrel jack so I'm not sure what the snag is.

Hi, I have two questions: 1. Where can I download the latest image for my board? rom this forum entry I see there is no armbian image for the first Orange Pi? The link https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi/ doesn't work, as it redirects to https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus/ which is definetly not the same (A20<>H3) 2. After doing a 'firmware upgrade' from armbian-config, it identifies itself as a Banana-pi. Is it normal? The MOTD is BPi and armbian-config shows BananaPi as well.

Hi all, I'm currently running Armbian 5.36 Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS 4.11.1-sun50iw2. This was / is a local armbian build that I performed a few months ago to resolve an issue that I saw at that time in the network stack that prevented ipsec working correctly. I've performed apt update / apt upgrade since however cat /proc/version still reports the version as that which I manually built back in June. Fast forward to today and I'd like to try out some traffic shaping tc rules but I'm running into some difficulty, which is making me doubt if my kernel has the support needed for iproute2. The following works without any issue to list existing rul…

Good day Armbian Forums! I'm having some trouble with builds of Armbian (up to and including 21.08.6 | kernel 5.10.60-sunxi) seeing wireless access points that are configured to channels 12 & 13 on my Orange Pi Zero Plus2 boards (H3 + 256mb RAM). Specifically, the default Android image (a generic Chinese-language Android multimedia system) that's loaded onto these boards can see and connect to access points that have been set to all channels (1-13) successfully, but any Armbian image I have tried fails to see anything (and subsequently cannot connect) to routers on channels 12 & 13. Due to the nature of this, I believe it may be a region setting or dri…

Hello fellow Armbianers! I'm using Orange Pi zero. My only complaint is the 30s boot time. Looking at the log files, seems like it only takes 5 seconds to boot once the kernel is loaded. The majority of this 30s is spent in uboot somewhere? Does anyone know how to speed up this boot process? I'm always just booting from SD card, don't need USB boot/network boot, console, or any of that. Thanks!

I have been trying to get USB OTG to work for the past few days, but have not succeeded. I have enabled all of the appropriate kernel settings according to this. There is no dmesg output about this, so I do not know what I did wrong. The reason I need the dev kernel is because I am using docker.
