Hi, my new OPI zero arrived today. I downloaded and installed armbian (Armbian_5.24_Orangepizero_Debian_jessie_3.4.113) and updated everything apt-get update apt-get upgrade apt-get dist-upgrade Finally I tried to connect to my wlan (FritzBox 7390, 2,4Ghz, WPA2) via nmtui. After a while I get the message: Could not activate connection: Activation failed I tried to connect to my Smartphone via hotspot instead and that worked fine. Both networks are using WPA2 encription and other settings in both WLAN settings are looking identical... Did I miss something? I uploaded my armhwinfo log here Marcel

Hi, in the last weeks I'been trying to use the serial ports 5 and 6 (tty5, tty6) of the cubieboard2 using DTB but still not working. First of all, I must said that i'm not a linux expert, only a linux user with some experience and all the information below is the result of multiple weeks of internet research. for the moment i'm able to get the cubieboard2 to recognize the ports, and using a c++ program I write on all serial ports, i get a response from tty0 but can't get the gio pins of the serial ports 5 and 6 to work. here is what I have done so far: first, I downloaded the device tree compiler sudo apt-get install device-tree-compiler then, nav…

Hello everyone, I have purchased an OPI PC + with intent to use it as a reciever for OGN, a network of recievers used for monitoring FLARM position info of equiped aircraft. http://wiki.glidernet.org/ I have flashed the Legacy 3.4.112 Jessie Desktop image first to the sd card and then installed it to the internal memory of the device. All went smoothly thus far. Then I ran into the problem that is the reason I am posting this thread. When I ran the bootscript for the installation of the OGN software, I got the following error message in the console: Bootscript source: http://ognconfig.onglide.com/ root@orangepipcplus:/home/andrej# wget http://ognconfig.…

So when I ssh into Armbian on the OPI PC, I see the cpu temperature at 50 degrees Celsius, and the number is red (in the "header"). Should I be worried about that? 1 core is constantly at 70% (this Mycroft is a bit resource hungry), while other cores are at 1% in htop. Thanks for the help in advance! Awesome distro btw!

I bought an Orange Pi PC "Set 9" that came with ribbon camera module (total 20 eur) to compare with Raspberry 3. After finally getting it to take a picture using fswebcam I find the images very low quality. Most passable without any extra lighting is 640x480. 800x600 and 1600x1200 produce nearly black images. Using Raspberry 3 with similarly priced chinese camera produce much better images with lower lighting. Am I missing something or is the camera quality this bad in comparison? I usually expect OK results from "chinese clones" but this is really. The best image I could get was: sudo fswebcam -r 640x480 --fps 25 -p YUV420P cam.jpg

I was sort of disappointed with my RPi 2 VPN performance, which is about 2.5MiB/s while normal traffic can easily exceeds 5.5MiB/s. So I setup same VPN config on OPi One and run the test. The speed is impressive which is well above 5 MiB/s but it could only last about 10s before the box reboots itself. I can see one cpu core is occupied 100% by softirqd ( about 80% on RPi 2). My kernel version is 3.4.112 and StrongSwan version is 5.3.3. Don't have further information yet. When I get a chance to hook up serial console, I may collect more info.

I know the A20 isn't really build for OC, but I would still like to do some tests with it running at 1008Mhz. As far as I understand Kernel 4.X doesn't use the fex files anymore, but rely on the dts (dtsi) files. I edited sun7i-a20-bananapi.dts &cpu0 { cpu-supply = <®_dcdc2>; operating-points = < /* kHz uV */ 1008000 1425000 960000 1400000 912000 1400000 864000 1350000 720000 1250000 528000 1150000 312000 1100000 144000 1050000 >; }; I made sure the build script doesn't overwrite the edited dts file. But BananaPi still says the max freq is 960 instead of 1008. root@bananapi:/tmp# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0…

Hello guys, I have an annoying issue with my OPiPC where I simply cannot get HDMI output. I am certain it is not a hardware issue! My OPiPC works fine with HDMI output & android. I have tried a known good HDMI->DVI-D adapter with various settings, and direct HDMI connection with various settings. It is a fresh install of Armbian 5.20 with apt-get update & apt-get upgrade. I have tried a plethora of h3disp settings and direct bin2fex configs! What could be wrong? Here is the current setup I am testing, which I would like to get working: -LG W1942TQ ( 1440x900 native ) -Working HDMI cord and HDMI->DVI-D adapter Interesting bits of the fex file…

hi, I have an OPI pc with armbian (legacy kernel), plan to set it as NAS. due to it has 4 USB ports without internal hub, so I decide to connect 3 USB HDD to it, and create a LVM+RAID5. but unfortunately, OPI pc can only recognize 2 USB HDD(any 2 of these 3 USB hdd), at any USB ports, the 3rd USB HDD can be found by lsusb but stops at "spinning up...." no /dev/sdc. but if I insert an USB disk, (with 2 USB HDD already inserted), it can be recognized and /dev/sdc is created. I guess whether there is a power supply issue. can this be fixed by USB HDD with additional power supply? is that right?

I'm trying to figure out why Firefox-esr crashes form time to time on my Olinuxino-Lime A20. I also have a Banana PI (also A20) and on that board Firefox never crashes. On both boards I use the legacy kernel, and I use uBlock adblocker on both boards. The Olinuxino has 512 MB RAM and the Banana Pi 1 GB. Googling around I found out that crashreports could be viewed on "about:crashes" or on ~/.mozilla/firefox/crashes. However, there is no such file. Do youi have any suggestions on where to find crashreports? Thanks in advance and much appreciation for your continuous work on the Armbian distribution!

I'm trying to get audio out work on Orange Pi Lite using HDMI. aplay -l lists sndhdmi as card #1 and I have set it up as default in ~/.asoundrc. aplay -v shows it being used, but my AV receiver doesn't recognise the Pi nor output any sound. The same cable & receiver works fine with e.g. Macbook Pro. Should the HDMI audio output work in the legacy Jessie server image for OPi Lite? If yes, how could I debug more why it doesn't seem to work?

Hello, I'm using Armbian 5.20 on my Orange Pi. Everything is working as it should except for the subtitles in MPV. I already upgraded to a newer version of MPV VDPAU which makes no difference so i went back to the orignal MPV and VDPAU. The problem is that at intermittent times the subtiles display over each other. It seems that the first subtitle which should have been gone according to the srt is still being displayed under the newly displayed subtitle. Have anyone encountered this problen and is there a solution to this problem?

So I thought I had a stable system with my OPI PC the 4.7.3-sun8i kernel (for BTRFS support), but the OOM killer keeps silently triggering. I can see it on the serial term and in the logs. So I have done some troubleshooting. I added the following t /etc/sysctl.conf: vm.swappiness=10 # try a value that will actually use the swap vm.min_free_kbytes=64000 # ensure that some memory is always available, held back from file caching. vm.oom_kill_allocating_task=1 # kill the offending task that requested the memory and not the task with the most memory to give up to see if there is an obvious trigger culprit. So, what I found is that the systems memory usually looks…

Hi all. Hi, I have a orange pi pc plus, and i want to use a PN532 NFC module with Uart. At first, i need to enable uart and i have found this docs : https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Allwinner/ , but i think i miss something. I try to do it, but i surely do something wrong, because my pi didn't boot anymore, so i flash the sd card. Before remaking any modification i prefer to be certain, do i really need to modify this files? And in particular this lines? /*Part of the files (Uart0 and Uart1)…

hi, I made a program on Orange pi minus (kernel 3.X)using wpa_supplicant for wifi direct. That worked fine (basically). But i have been asked to do it on Orange pi plus with Kernel 4.9. The wifi works when i using nmtui, but when i made a iw list i couldn't find my material and i am not able to configure P2P. I think the problem is the kernel version and not the Hardware because my card with kernel 3.X works on orange pi pc plus. So i am a bit lost, what can i do ? My guest is to modify the realtek module ? I am not sure if i am on the right direction... Thanks, Ps: Sorry for my english.

Hi there, I am a new user of OPi PC+, downloaded, flashed Armbian_5.20_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.img basic setup OK, got IP, changed passwords etc, GUI starts. Hi all, Today my second OPi arrived, a +2E. I already have an OPi PC which is working like a charm. So I ordered a +2E as well. I have an older monitor (Dell 2007WFP) with DVI connector and a native resolution of 1680x1050. From previous experience from the OPi PC, I know that I had to run the 'h3disp' tool to set up this resolution and to make it work via an HDMI-DVI cable. So I connected my new +2E through a normal HDMI cable to my 1080p TV, installed Armbian (Jessie desktop, with legacy kernel), updated to the latest release through 'apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade' and after a reboot ran 'h3disp -m 36 -d', just as I had with the OPi PC. After r…

I have used raspberry and there I just type "raspistill -d" and a demo pops up. How do I do something like that? After browsing around I found that "modprobe gc2035" is along those lines but I only get "command not found". Doing a linux find does not find "modprobe". I reckon I have to install something else but what?

Web stores are filled with dongles, but info about their compatibility with Linux (and especially Armbian's legacy kernel) is not that readily available. Has anyone found a dongle that "just works" with OPi Lite or Zero? If yes, care to share e.g. Ali Express link or similar?

Hi Can anyone help with the installation of Open Media Vault Erasmus on Armbian Jessie for the Orange Pi Zero. I have been following instructions given all the following link but I am unable to download the required packages: http://www.fredmerc.com/2016/11/installing-openmediavault-erasmus-to-debian-8-jessie/ Any help or information would be appreciated. I tried the 3.4.112 on Pi One and 3.4.113 on Pi Zero. Both have the same problem which is that no unicast packets are flowing into the macvlan device when I run tcpdump on it. The device was created like this: ip link add link eth0 address 1E:74:C0:DC:BB:01 vlan mtu 1500 type macvlan I can see inbound broadcast and multicast packets though. Outbound packets also seem fine. I can see arp request and ICMP request (if set static arp entry on PI) from the other end. Does anybody have any clue what it could it?

Hi All, I'm trying to get usb otg enabled as host mode to add, for instance, a keyboard with a powered hub (I know otg is not delivering power or at least I don't want to drain more power with the otg) I'm using vanilla kernel 4.8.4 so I kind of expect otg enabled as host mode by default. Anyway, I get into dts and make sure this section: usb@01c13000 { compatible = "allwinner,sun4i-a10-musb"; reg = <0x1c13000 0x400>; clocks = <0x2 0x0>; interrupts = <0x0 0x26 0x4>; interrupt-names = "mc"; phys = <0x30 0x0>; phy-names = "usb"; extcon = <0x30 0x0>; allwinner, sram = <0x31 0x1>; status = "okay"; dr_mode = "host"; linux, phandle = …

Hi, In my OPi PC, the image "Armbian_5.20_Orangepipc_Debian_jessie_3.4.112" resolves .local hosts well, e.g. ` ping rpi1.local ` but the image "Armbian_5.20_Orangepipc_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop" does not, it gives 'ping: unknown host rpi1.local', and it's quite odd, because an ` avahi-resolve -n rpi1.local ` works... uname -a Linux orangepipc 3.4.112-sun8i #10 SMP PREEMPT Sun Oct 23 16:06:55 CEST 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux Any ideas? I have an OPi PC+ running Armbian. Bought an RTC called "DS3231 for Pi" and connected the 3.3V, ground, SDA and SCL pins to the GPIO connector. Ran "sudo i2cdetect -y 0" and it prints a table with "UU" in position 0x68. Ran "hwclock -w -f /dev/rtc1" and the response was "bash: hwclock: command not found" I looked in a subdirectory of /etc/ and found fake_hwclock and hwclock.sh Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Perhaps I should have modified something else before running hwclock? Thanks...

Hi. The following happened. When power is suddenly cut off in emmc, the file contents created by fopen (), fprintf (), fflush() and fclose () are not saved after rebooting. It seems that it has not been physically written out while being cached. If display the file before cutting off the power, the contents are correctly saved. In addition, if it is normally reboot it is saved correctly.

Hi all, I have no luck to get wifi work on NanoPi M1 with the usb dongle RLT8188CUS. I have followed the tutorial "OPI ONE wireless success" to config. But, I don't see any "wlan0" or wifi device at all with the usb dongle plugged in. "nmtui" does not detect any wifi device as well. It appears to me that, although armbian recognizes the usb dongle, armbian does not treat it as a wlan0 device. I'm trying to use 1080p60 with a DVI-HDMI cable on an Orange Pi One so I run h3disp -m 1080p60 -d and restart. Monitor shows randomly moving white lines on both sides of the display (probably the console text all garbled) for a few seconds then goes to sleep. Tried with a TV (using an HDMI-HDMI cable) and it cycles between Unsupported Mode and No Signal. 1080p without the DVI flag works on the TV but the monitor doesn't even come out of sleep with it. Other resolutions seem to work fine with the DVI flag on the monitor, including 720p and 1080i. The monitor also works fine with a 1080p output from a PC. Hey guys, I have a Banana Pro and recently switched to Armbian from Bananian. I boot from an HDD connected to the SATA port on bpi. Apparently the root fs is supposed to get resized to the max size(1TB in my case) during the first boot. But, well, it didn't work for me.. so instaed of 1TB I had 1.5 GBs. I wiped the partition in fdisk and created a new one using the old starting block(2048) but leaving the end to default. Result: I now have all the space available to me but everytime I log in it still says "90% of 1.5G". Why doesn't it scale?I know this is kinda ridiculous but I'm a perfectionist haha. ____ ____ _ ____ …

I've been trying to get the TV out from my OPI-PC Plus for a while, but nothing is working The pre-installed Android OS on the emmc outputs to the TV just fine, so it's not a cable/tv problem I've tried both Armbian and some distros found on the OPI forums, but nothing worked. I messed with the script.bin, using http://linux-sunxi.org/Fex_Guide as a guide, but it didn't work I'm using a 64GB Samsung Class 10 card, but I've also tried other cards and it didn't work It works when using HDMI though Here's my script.bin (I'm pasting only the relevant part) I'm running the lastest version of armbian (5.20) What should I do now?

Hello I'm using OPI PC + with 8GB external SD card. I detected a strange bug. I was using nand_sata_install.sh script to install Armbian to emmc card. System boot up from EMMC instead from external SD card. When reboot again it start from SD card. I was wondering WTF is happening. Thinking about system is somehow confused so I delete emmc card partition. Hi Everyone. I have an Orange Pi One and I can use the micro USB (otg) port as a standard USB port - I can plug in a memory stick or USB speakers and it works fine. Is it possible to have the same functioniality with the OPI Zero? I tried and it does not work - I am powering the board through the GPIO header. Even if I plug in USB speakers that have an LED indication - no LED lights, so I guess no power. I looked at the fex file from the OPI One and could not see the difference there in the OPI Zero. I know it is in beta, so I do not expect it straight away, but it would be good to know if it is possible Thanks for any help. J

So we get the Banana Pi M2+ killer soon it seems, just stumbled accross the 'NanoPi M1 Plus' in FriendlyARM repo: https://github.com/friendlyarm/h3_lichee/blob/master/tools/pack/chips/sun8iw7p1/configs/nanopi-h3/boards/sys_config_nanopi_m1_plus.fex According to fex file we get: H3 with primitive voltage regulation (1.1V/1.3V) and therefore 1200 MHz max eMMC AP6212 Wi-Fi/BT 40 pin header identical to M1 2 leds as usual (red/blue) Gigabit Ethernet 24 pin camera connector compatible to M1/Air 1 x USB OTG, 3 x host 2 x host (maybe the 3rd host port somewhere on headers) I would assume same board layout as NanoPi M1 now but one USB type A receptacle less and there the e…

Is there a Xenial image for NanoPi M1, or a way to “easily†build one ?. I see here https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-neo/ that there is a Xenial image for NanoPi Neo. I am asking because I would like to run HQPlayer's Network Audio Adapter on my NanoPi M1. And this doesn't run on Debian Jessie legacy as it needs libstdc++6 (>=5.2), but it does run on a NanoPi Neo with Xenial. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

If there has not been any other temperature modificatioin done then this thumb2 change is definitively towards the right direction. Kudos guys!

Hey there So I was planning on using the OPZero on a robot that I had already made, which took use of SPIdev, and it was doing calls to the spidev driver in C. Now I noticed that the OPZero has 2 SPI channels, one for the NOR flash (Which isnt populated) on the back and another that goes to the GPIO headers on the device. Now I ran my script, and turns out that /dev/spidev0.0 is actually writing SPI commands to the rear SPI channel. This is apparenly SPI0 according to the schematics. Now following the schematics again, I want to access SPI1, which currently does not exist as a spidev file. I tried "modprobe spidev" to bring up the extra interface, but sadl…

Looking for recommended LCD screens for NanoPi Neo and Orange Pi Zero. I have some IoT ideas I want to explore. Does not have to be touch, and I'm pretty flexible on screen size. I just got two Orange Pi Zero systems today and want to create a couple of IoT devices along with the two NanoPi Neo systems I got recently. Performance does NOT have to be ideal, just reasonable (not going to game on it or watch action movies). The Zero means HDMI is not an option; given that, what interface is best - …
