During the last days the system crashed twice - by crashed I mean that no SSH or other connections was possible and I had to force-power off. I used it for months without crashes before so its probably related to a new SATA drive. I wanted to look at the syslog and I noticed that /var/log/syslog only shows entries starting from the current boot and the /var/log.hdd/syslog is empty. Do I understand correctly that armbian logs only to /var/log which is a ram drive so the logs (or at least the syslog) is never persisted? How can I find out whether the SATA drive is responsible and why? Maybe it has a too high power consumption under special circumstan…

  2. I haven't solved the problem of spdif-out on mainline kernel. But, on legacy kernel 3.4.112, spdif-out works. but, has a limitation upt 48khz? doesn't work of 88khz, 96khz, 176khz on my Nanopi Neo Air 1.0. Is it correct to have a limitation. Thanks in advance.

  3. I am lost, the soundcard used to work when I first started with this board but now I get a "aplay: device_list:270: no soundcards found..." error. When I tried to enable the analog codec using armbian-config I get an empty screen. This also used to work the first time. So I created a new SD card using Armbian Stretch this time but with exactly the same result. I am desperate! The diagnostic output is here http://ix.io/1x25 Kind regards, Hans C

  4. Hi, I have a orange pi one which I use as a test web server and everything was good so far, the first problem I came a cross that the couchbase server on debian package did'nt support arm, so I skipped that and used another computer as couchbase server, But the problem now is that I can't install the couchbase php client on the orange pi, then I tried the build the libcouchbase my self. I actually did build it (I have no previous experince with build) After I built it I don't know what to do, now I have libcouchbase.so file and other files but I can't still use couchbase php commands. Any help is appriciated. Thanks.

  5. first off: I'm totally new in the Linux world, but it's really fun to play with *Pis! currently I'm on a OPILite but I have some RasPis lying around and just ordered a nanoPieNEO2. I'm trying to setup a filesystem that supports deduplication, as far as I can tell that's ZFS or BTRFS. After a lot of reading and learning I got BTRFS with bedup running, but bedup is only file-wise deduplication. The solution for block-wise would be duperemove, but I can't find/get/install/build it for armhf. Has somebody tried block-wise deduplication before and can point me in the right direction? I'm running armbian 5.31 on 4.11.5

  9. Hi - Just checked out latest greatest code from git to compile new stretch image for my NanoPiNeo2 ( Armbian_5.46_Nanopineo2_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.47 ) but seems it won't boot up. Tried two SDcards and two different boards but same result. Tried both Etscher ( 1.4.4 ) and Rufus ( 3 ) but same result, any issue known that I missed ? Please note I am building a standard image ( thus no customised settings ) also came to my attention the board becomes quite warm, this is unusual . Thanks

  10. Hi, I have a Bananapi M1 running long Time with Debian Jessie. Now I installed Armbian Buster and always when I activate GPIO Pins my Network is gone on the integrated Card. Also GPIO is not working because of the Network Card. I tried to deactivate the Network Card and use an external WirelessLAN Card but the internal Card is still blocking my GPIO's. On Jessie and Wheezy before that was working perfect. Any advise? BR Peter

Hello, this is not a big problem, but for me makes a board useless I use orange pi to control ralays thru GPIOs it works flawless on Orange PI PC, PC+, One so I decided to buy Orange PI Lite and I discovered that all gpio are set to high for half a second and then back to low, while unit power up or restarts. Just like an internet router It do that even without a SD card, that points this is coded into U-Boot. Any idea how to fix that?

  13. After some months not using my OrangePi One, yesterday I installed Armbian 5.90 buster 4.19.57 (previously I had a stretch release). I did a clean install, downloading the image and burning the microSD with it. I noticed the button now works for 1st time since I bought the OrangePi One. It shuts down the device, no need to install or configure nothing. But, previous Armbian versions I had, were able to set the machine CPU speed at 1.2 and 1.1 GHz. Now (with Armbian 5.90) the maximum is 1 GHz. On previous releases, the file /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_available_frequencies contained: 240000 480000 648000 816000 912000 9…

It started with the camera- gc2035 and vfe_v4l2 modules. After that I tried no matter what I wanted to connect to USB it was not even recognized. Now I'm back in changing/swapping around Images until I found one that let me plug anything I …

  25. I built the latest Nobel build and ended up with Armbian-unofficial_26.02.0-trunk_Nanopiduo_noble_current_6.12.63.img. Even at idle it runs 70C. I used a PS2 usb fan (I call it the ghetto cooler 5000) long enough to downgrade kernel to 6.1.x. Now it idles around 50C. I know there's been heating issues with H3 (Duo uses H2+). Now that I finally have the Bluetooth working, I can use it as a proper desktop. 51. I've set up a HE.net IPv6 tunnel on my CubieTruck, which announces itself in the network as a router for IPv6 network traffic. However, when I transfer data from other computers via the CubieTruck, bandwidth is very bad. rsyslogd causes a very high load on the CubieTruck and transfer rates are only up to several hundred KB/s. However, when I test downloading files from the CubieTruck itself, load doesn't increase and I can use my full line speed of 4 MB/s. As rsyslogd is the logging daemon, I looked into the syslog and found hundreds of page allocation failures like the one I attached to this post. What's wrong and how can I fix this? exception.txt

Hi! I've been using Armbian on my a20 olinuxino lime2 board without issues for over a year now. Yesterday i decided to reflash the installation image onto the SD board. I've tried to flash it to different SD cards using the same method (SD card formatter + etcher), all of them booted but the SSH server always refuses the connection. Are there any workarounds to this?

I've found that even if the system is shutdown i can measure about 4.5V on ipsout. I verified also the same situation on my second cb2. Searching on the web i've found this post. Any of you could confirm, please?

I installed the experimental version of the NanoPi Neo Air distribution on my Air a month or two ago. At the time I believe Bluetooth was not working on that version. I don't see any indication that it is not working now, but it doesn't seem to be working on my install. Is Bluetooth working on the experimental kernel? If so, should I just re-install, or is it not hard to get it working on an existing install? I just installed the latest updates and rebooted, and that didn't fix it. The symptom that I'm seeing is that if I run bluetoothctl it prints a prompt, but seems to lock up.

  72. Hi i did some comparison of NanoPi NEO Kernel 3.4 (Jessie) and kernel 4.4 (Stretch). - Looks like the temperature limit controlling of 4.4 is not working as good as 3.4 (on 4.4 Kernel the CPU reaches more than 85 °C!) - GPIO (wiringPi) has less performance (-4%) - SPI has better performance (10%) - CPU performance is ~6% better (nbench, maybe the newer compiler) - consumption is besser on Kernel 3.4, especially on halt state I did a fork for wiringpi Library to make it work on Armbian Jessie and Stretch https://github.com/mstroh76/WiringNP (so far only for NEO)

But if there are some high cpu tasks, such as unzip, the system load will go high, and not go to lower level when task done. When the system load is higher than 4, the response of the system is laggy, when go higher, the system will go no response. I use uptime to test the system load, when boot, the 1min load will be at 3.xx and go down slowly. When no task, the load will lower than 0.5.
