  1. I got an Orange Pi PC with Armbian Ubuntu Desktop installed. It runs perfectly fine. 1080p resolution, sound, ethernet, browsing, what-have you. It can even play x265 videos flawlessly (which is why I got it for as my RPi3 can't). Highest temp is 46C so far (with or without a heat sink and no fan). Anyway, I've updated and upgraded and then installed Kodi. My media is on my NAS, so I input my SMB info, and it connects fine. But as it reads the media, Kodi just shuts off on its own. No crash report or anything. It just closes and I'm back on the desktop. Re-opening it starts Kodi up for a sec and then closes itself. Deleting the user folder under a Kodi directo…

  4. Hello, I'm running ARMBIAN 5.25 stable with kernel 4.9.12-sunxi on my Cubietruck and I mostly use it as an AP. I've installed the "hostapd" package from the official armbian repository and it works fine until I want to connect more than 5 wireless clients. The kernel module used is "brcmfmac" provided by the armbian-firmware package. Is it an hardware limit and how can I bypass it if possible ? The working default config provided with hostapd package is below: ssid=ARMBIAN interface=wlan0 hw_mode=g channel=5 driver=nl80211 ctrl_interface=/var/run/hostapd ctrl_interface_group=0 logger_syslog=0 logger_syslog_level=0 wmm…

  7. Good evening, I'm using a NanoPi Neo Air for streaming audio via bluetooth to a I2S sink. It's working in general but the audio data breaks away every second. It's always a on/off. I'm pretty sure it's connected to the speed between H3 - AP6212a but I'm not able to get it to work propably. Is there any other firmware for the AP6255 available, besides the one made available for Khadas VIM at https://github.com/khadas/android_hardware_amlogic_wifi/tree/Vim/bcm_ampak/config/6255/BT or the one for the Raspberry Pi 3+ available e.g. at https://github.com/OpenELEC/misc-firmware/blob/master/firmware/brcm/BCM43430A1.hcd which uses also the same chipset? 10. Having my Orange Pi One now for two weeks. I've compiled a new kernel with the great compile tool of Armbian. Now I have AppleTalk as module in the kernel ( 3.4.110 - kernel/net/appletalk/appletalk.ko) It seems that the Ethernet device or driver does not understand AppleTalk. Although Ethernet works... well IP does. If I use a USB Network device (as eth1 with dm9601 module) I have no problem, but the on board network card refuses to work with the AppleTalk software Netatalk. It start, but the OrangePi dioesn't see other AppleTalk devices. With the USB network card, it works fine. It is a pity, because the Orange Pi One is really the cheapest AppleTalk router …

  15. Hi you all, I have flashed a good, tested and reliable 32GB SD card with the last build for Orange PI Win (armbian 5.38) and when first updating, it stucks in "waiting for headers" for too long. I have read that this is caused in Linux systems because one installs third party software whose repos take long to answer, but since here it is a first and fresh update, with nothing but armbian inside, I ask myself if it is normal or there is a problem with the servers at this moment. Only apt-get update ca take up to 1h 30 min, so it is really an annoying issue. Is anyone out there experiencing the same problem (and hopefully with a solution) ?? Thank you guys!…

  16. Hi, I have recently called apt-get upgrade (with my regular installation and also with a fresh one) and after trying to extract armbian-firmware (I think it was that name but I'm not totally sure) dpkg returns an error. All other packages are installed without error. Unfortunately the OrangePiLite then hangs on next boot. I guess this package is broken in the repositories? Has anybody else encountered this issue?

  28. Armbian 24.2 is broken on Orange PI PC2 (Debian Bookworm CLI) Latest stable community release: https://github.com/armbian/community/releases/download/24.5.0-trunk.123/Armbian_community_24.5.0-trunk.123_Orangepipc2_bookworm_current_6.6.20_minimal.img.xz With update 23.11 -> 24.2 the orange pi pc2 no longer starts. I tried a new sd installation and it too does not appear on the network. Right now I don't have a serial cable to check but it is possible that the network driver is missing or not working. SD, SBC and PSU are 100% working: a revert to 23.11.2 makes it work perfectly.

  32. Dear all, i just installed a fresh Armbian 4.5 Jessie with Vanilla kernel 4.2.3 on an SD card and booted it on a cubietruck. I did not receive any HDMI output. This did not change after a kernel update to 4.2.5 via apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and a reboot. However, the same cubietruck works flawlessly with Debian Wheezy (2.6 updated to 4.5) and kernel 3.4.110. I checked the boot.cmd script and looked into cubietruck.bin - the standard settings would appear to identify the correct (HD) display resolution and to enable HDMI by default. Hi all, traditionally I have used Bananian on the Bannan Pi M1+, but I thought that I would give Armbian a go as there seems to be more activity here and there are tools for compiling an entire image from scratch :-) So far I love Ambian, thank you for the work. I plan on using the OPi as a headless MIDI processor, and I'd like to be able to switch remotely the audio output of ALSA between the default audio-out, the HDMI out and a USB sound card (CM108-based, tested working with the current kernel). ALSA documentation isn't well maintained, most of it is old and doesn't correspond with the current state of the software (config files locations and names, contents etc). So I'm asking here: on Armbian, how do I switch remotely the output audio device in ALSA? No remote …

  43. I realize there have been a few topics on this, but it seems to me that this was considered fixed. When using 5.23 with a 4.8 kernel, the MAC address was stable. After upgrading to 5.25, the MAC address was still the same as before. However after an outage, the two boards running 5.25 came up with a new MAC address (two boards still running 5.23 came up with the same MAC address). Then the MAC address seems to change every boot. The problem is that the FiOS router (an ActionTec) I have remembers both the machine name and the MAC address (it nicely creates a DNS entry). If the same name appears with a different MAC address, it ignores the name from DHCP and cre…

  49. Hello, I am trying to boot Armbian on a stock Orange Pi Plus 2 which has stock Android installed to its eMMC. I perform the following steps: 1. Unzip the archive uzing p7zip (on Arch Linux, using "7z e Armbian_5.38_Orangepiplus_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14.7z"). 3. The display adapter (HDMI>MIPI) have 3 options ( switching between 3 different EDID ) , the 2 others are working correctly ( 1080x1920 , 1440x2560 ) . 52. As I told on another topic, yesterday I installed Armbian 5.90 buster 4.19.57 on my OrangePi One. Now, when it boots, all the output text goes to the bottom line of the screen, with each line overwritting the previous one (no scroll). Then it asks for username, and when I type it it asks for password, overwritting the username I typed. And it probably displays the wellcome banner, but I just see the last line of the banner. Once logged, I have to type "clear" and then I can use the full screen, and it scrolls. That happens on the console, if I start a new session from another machine (using PuTTY) it works fine. My password …

Main target is Armbian next and development branches and mainline Kernel and U-Boot. Boot device can be eMMC, SD/MMC, USB Flash/HDD and SATA HDD/SSD probed in given order. In case of booting from eMMC, SD/MMC and USB Flash Read-Only Root FS can be used optionally. In case of booting from SD/MMC or USB Flash eMMC and / or SATA devices can be updated automatically. Here is my problem: armbian is currently running on an SD card and I would like to put it on the eMMC memory of my orange Pi 3 (8gb). When I run the sudo nand-sata-install script it offers me to install eMMc on my memory but tells me that the partition is too small. 8go seems largely sufficient to install armbian. You should know that this orange Pi already contains linux firmware in its internal memory. I figured this was due to the fact that maybe this version of armbian didn't support emmc memory, so I tried with the focal version, the buster version and the bionic version…
