I have a OpiZ2w with Armbian. I flashed a SD-card, and then I copy the system and boot to a usb- hdd (sda) and the system boot to sda Want hdd because It write much data and USB 2 don't take mush more speed. But I get a warning about a file-error or something so I run fsck on sda(hdd) was a systemdisk, but run read-only, but anyway it does not boot any more I think I can take the usb-hdd and run fsck from another computer? I have one system with Ubuntu on a Intel 6 gen, and Raspberry pi 500 and 5. The Pi-machine have raspberry-pi OS and the other Ubuntu 24.04.Does the machin or system have any singificans? An interesting fact (at least from what I can tell), the NanoPi Duo (v1.0 and v 1.1) has no builtin PUDs. Checking http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/images/8/8a/Schematic_NanoPi_Duo-v1.1.pdf and I see no PUDs on the GPIO schematic. Is this true? Is the Orange Pi Zero the same way?

Hi there, tomorrow I should obtain my OPi Zero Plus2. I see it does not have USB port (just GPIO for USB, so I could solder USB port for it with GPIO, no problem). Then, I will need to install my own raspbian.img on eMMC (I am using read only system). Till now I installed it on many SD cards to another Opi Zero's and used it so (because of lack eMMC). But how to install it on Opi Zero Plus2? Do I need to install it on SD card first and then go with nand-sata-install? Honestly, I would like to install it (the best) with USB or some other way, because I will need to install dozen of pieces and it is pretty time consuming to install if from SD ca…

I am getting a quite loud audio spike / noise sound at the end of an audio play in python when using the following script: https://gist.github.com/bbence84/04d1935a92a4b4ab3d44bf182ea4bcc1 Wav to be played, but it does it with any other wav or mp3 file: https://easyupload.io/vbat12 It uses the speech_recognition package and the preferredsoundplayer package, but also the VLC python package shows the same when playing the audio. When changing the audio play to be non-blocking for the python script, the issue goes away... Very strange. This is driviging me nuts. I'm on Armbian 22.11.1 Jammy / 22.04.1 LTS, kernel 5.15.80-su…

I just installed a fresh armbian 5.38 (mainline kernel) image to an SD Card for my A20-OLinuXino-MICRO board. After booting I used armbian-config to enable the spi-spidev. I then edited the armbianEnv.txt directly to add param_spidev_spi_bus=0. This gives me a single spidev0.0 under dev. Changing the parameter to param_spidev_spi_bus=2 (or 1) I can get the other busses. But only a single bus at a time. I spent I few hours googling, but I cannot seem to find any documentation on how to enable more than one userspace spi dev. Could someone explain to me how to enable all spi devices at once? Writing a custom overlays myself is a little beyond me at t…

[H5: Nanopi neo core 2] I observe the UART Rx line to be influenced by the RTS line which I am using during sending. Is there a way to enable an internal pull-up on Rx so that this doesn't happen? I suspect it's the cause of communication errors that I observe. I confess that I am currently on a FriendlyCore 4.16 build, but I wouldn't expect such an issue to be too distribution-specific.

I bought a Cubieboard AIO A20 Einstein and wanted to install Armbian. Is there an image I can use to get access to this board? I tried a few images following the install with sd card with no success. I have gone back and forth burning images, reformatting the drive, test and trying again. I'm a newbie but I have completed several installs on other machines just not one like this. I'm outside my comfort zone but keep on trying. I can install to msata and boot from that and there are boot settings in the Cubie desktop. Knowing what image to use (if any for Cubieboard AIO A20 Einstein) moving forward would be helpful. Any other tips, suggestions, how to's, and successes wou…

I can't get my Orange Pi working... After writing image to a SD card, the system boots up and the green LED lights up. Everything looks ok, until "Starting kernel..." line. After that the screen goes all black or displays artifacts. I tried different HDMI cables but still same issues. I've been trying with 5.25, 5.30, 5.35, 5.38 Ubuntu versions. I found out that the only way to get the system up and running was installing version 5.30, because the system boots with 720p mode. Other builds use 1080p mode. However when I "apt upgrade" the kernel, system boots with 1080p and the issue shows up again. Is there a way to "force" Armbian to use 720p mode by default?

Hey folks, I'm hoping for some advice on achieving decent graphics for my application. I've got a prototype running with a custom board hosting the NanoPi Neo Air and a bunch of my own hardware. The biggest issue right now is getting reasonable graphics performance. The difference between mainline and legacy support has had me confused and switching back and forth trying to find a useful solution. Here's what I've learned so far: Mainline feels like the future, so that's my preference. My application uses fbtft over SPI for the graphics. I achieved 72MHz SPI on mainline which gives almost reasonable performance. On legacy the SPI driver seems buggy and …

Hello. I reactivated my old BananaPi M1 to measure some Temperatures by Dalla1820-Sensors. This is working like a charm and I could resolve all the Problems I had. But now I want to use also one GPIO-Pin as an digital Input (via bash) But all manuals I found in the Internet didn't work. Every Time i try to setup a Pin by sudo echo (Pin-number) > /sys/class/gpio/export I get the message, that I don't have the rights to do this. Could it be, that the GPIO are not usable, when I activated 1wire ? (of course I used a different Pin as I use for 1wire) Or must I activate some more options as only "w1-gpio" in the armbian…

Hello, I've been using an OrangePi PC with legacy distribution for a long time as a mini-server, it worked Ok except for some seemingly random freeze. I'm using it with an unsupported monitor size (1600x1200), so I had a modded version, and I never updated the system files to avoid having to recompile. I'd like to update Armbian to the mainline kernel version, but I want to keep all my settings/additions/installed programs, so I'd prefer to NOT do a complete re-install. Is there a way to do an upgrade without losing everything?? If not, how can I keep track of all the modifications currently installed so I can re-install them? TIA

Hi all, I've connected a Serial-TTL converter to my Macbook Pro on one side, and an OrangePi Zero on the other, when I power up the Zero, I'm getting the following, what looks like an output with missing characters: I'm connecting with "sudo screen /dev/cu.usbserial 115200" and the adapter's driver in the network connections is set to 115200. The adapter is an Adafruit USB to TTL Serial Cable with a Prolific chipset. Any ideas?

Hello! I try use UPort 1150 on my OrangePIPC+ board, but got error misiing firmware. After lookup I check that this files was missed, so I copy from RaspberryPi4 board (with Armbian 22.04) moxa folder & ti_3150.fw, ti_5052.fw. Then after reboot all work ok. So, is this that I missed in configuration or this is a bug? Regards, Alex

I’ve been running Armbian from an SSD for a while using this guide: https://jamesachambers.com/orange-pi-zero-2-usb-ssd-boot-guide/ Recently, after running apt update && apt full-upgrade, the following issues have occurred: 1. Wi-Fi adapter is no longer detected. 2. CPU utilization exceeds 80% when accessing the Gnome launcher or starting GUI apps (e.g., a web browser, even without opening a webpage). 3. The system becomes laggy and nearly unusable, noticeable when moving the mouse. Are there recent changes to Armbian that affect SSD booting? Is there a workaround for these issues?

Hi all, I'm puzzled how everybody is building clusters of cheap SBC's, but nobody is implementing HA, redundancy, resiliency, failover, etc. They're just SBC's networked together. The SBC's are underprovisioned for Ceph, so I think that even if a Ceph configuration was managed to be shoehorned in, it wouldn't perform well. I don't know if DRDB is an option. How are people actually doing implementing real clustering technology on Orange Pi, for example? I'm using OPi+2E. Kind regards, Andrew

I've tried both revisions (Bionic and Stretch) for this board located at: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc/ Both have the same issue. When I boot from sd card, run armbian-config, and attempt to transfer armbian OS to emmc I get an error 'no target'. I know that there is indeed built 8GB flash, because when I pull the sdcard, and power the board it boots into the pre-configured android OS. Here is a picture I took of the board: https://photos.app.goo.gl/5ELPTTnPbZXAybhe9 Any advise would be helpful. Thank You.

I am using Olimex Lime 2 Emmc Rev.k for a project. One of the Boards shuts down randomly. Its not a freeze or a sudden power down of the board. The board undergoes a complete shut down procedure. I checked the log entries in /var/log/syslog log file. There is a entry of board going to shut down but I couldn't find the reason for shut down. Is there a way to find out if the board got shut down because of the Power-button press, shutdown command from a SSH client, shutdown because of temperature or shutdown because of under voltage ? Is there a log file i can check to find the reason for shutdown?

I'd like to install the latest Armbian for Orange Pi PC, but want to remove GUI / desktop packages and use CLI only. I can't find any docs on how to create a tailored distro without GUI (and associated) packages. So I guess an alternative is to install a standard legacy distro, then trim out the GUI (and likely other) packages as desired. Any suggestions or documentation? Thx.

Hello, I'm using a BPI M2 Zero (with H3 Chip) to control two relays on CON2-P05 / PA11 and CON2-P03 / PA12. During the boot process there is a high level present at the pins, which is driving the relays. Is there a way to create a DTB overlay to drive the pins to a low level during boot. Attempting to connect ILI9341 LCD with XPT2046 Touch to NanoPi NEO Core2 and then migrate to NanoPi Duo2. The ILI9341 / XPT2046 peripheral board has shared SPI with a separate slave chip select for the screen and touch controllers. Starting with hardware datasheet for the H3 I see there is lots of support for different chip select implementations. This makes me think I am on good footing from a hardware perspective. What is not clear to me is how the register support for four slave chip selects translates into pin assignments. Reading through spi-sun6i.c., for example, static int sun6i_spi_transfer_one( ... ) uses SUN6I_TFR_CTL_CS_MANUA…

Greetings! It's not a influential or serious bug. I couldn't control the LEDs on Orange Pi One Plus by the command setleds, So I navigated to /sys/class/leds, and there are two items: orangepi:green:status@ and orangepi:red:power@. I tried to do echo 255 > brightness respectively and found that: orangepi:green:status@ controls the RED LED, while orangepi:red:power@ controls the GREEN LED. Please tell me if it's a minor bug or an intentional setting, thank you.

Good morning, I have a NanoPi Neo Core that I want to use to generate a PWM wave. As far as I understand, the pin for this is PA5, which is shared with UART. However, by using the corresponding overlay, the UART would be disabled, and PWM would be enabled. Is that correct? What would be the next steps to verify that this is correct and to generate the PWM wave? Is there a specific command to do this? Thanks for your help, and best regards!

My idea is to create an automated garden watering system with nice stats (graphs) I already have a 4 channel relay board (to connect solenoid water valves), a DS18B20 to sense temperature, an LDR to graph sunlight hours and 4 hygrometers --moisture sensors--. Those I want to connect through an I2C ADS1115 ADC module (which I also already have). …

Hi all! Has anyone some experience with dts overlays for the mainline kernel 4.14.47? I connected the SHT11 temperature sensor to PA7 and PA8, installed the sht1x.dts overlay from https://github.com/armbian/sunxi-DT-overlays/blob/master/examples/sht1x.dts via "sudo armbian-add-overlay sht15.dts" and afterwards looked via dmesg into the kernel output. That's what my OPLite reports: It is a kernel IO error. The LogicAnalyzer doesn't record any pin toggle. But what am I doing wrong? Do I have to deactivate the pins in GPIO driver? Can someone please help me? As I soldered the SHT11 by myself I modified some RPi userspace code to v…

Hello. this is my first post. I was looking through the forum but I did not find a similar problem. About power supply - until now I did not have any problems, I use a computer power supply. After a few months of non-use of my device, I downloaded an updated, latest version (Armbian_5.38_Lime2_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop) to an old, previously functioning card. When I connected the device, it did not turn on. I tried to turn it on manually, but nothing happened except the short flash on the connected mouse. A while ago, I uploaded an older desktop version to NAND. I used the sd card to start up. Is it possible that this older version loaded on NAND c…

Hi everybody, I asked to forum in the past about game library for C but it is very hard to develop our software in C. As I told in the past, I don't develop a game, I using it to draw some graphs in 2d or 3d. I am here again to ask that, Is OPI Zero can run a game software from Monogame framework. We can port our windows C# software which is written with XNA framework to Linux enviorment with MonoGame. Thanks

Hello again, I downloaded the latest Orange Pi Win Ubuntu server – legacy kernel and installed it. When I connect ssh via my android phone it works, without problems. Had anyone ells this problem? greeting…

Hello, I am using the Armbian 22.08.2 Jammy with Linux 5.15.69-sunxi. When I issue "aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav" or "speaker-test -t wav" playback misses a few seconds from the beginning of the audio file. If I restart it immediately, I can hear the file playing correctly. Then I wait for a while, run it and the problem reappears. I read on this forum that people have had the same problem for years without finding a solution. Is there a solution or does anyone wise know what the problem is?

Hi, im using an Orange Pi one with a camara. I bought it as a set: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/Orange-Pi-One-SET-9-Orange-Pi-One-and-Camera-Camera-with-wide-angle-lens-for/32660642513.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.8eWICb I've flashed armbian to the SD Card and fired it up. Hello folks, I'm having trouble booting to Armbian. The green LED turns on, and the LAN lights work, but outputting to HDMI always ends in no signal. I have tried: - Using official Orange Pi operating systems, they work, but are unstable. - Using f3 to check if my SD card is corrupted/fake. Returns working. - Using different power bricks, will still turn on leds, but not output to HDMI - Using different Armbian kernels, no success Any ideas lads?

Hi, Im trying to modify the configuration of AXP209 in the A20-SOM204 to change the behavior of long and short press time to make a long press shutdown the board and a short press wake up, following the datasheet: http://dl.linux-sunxi.org/AXP/AXP209_Datasheet_v1.0en.pdf and trying with the register: https://linux-sunxi.org/AXP209#REG_36H:_PEK_key_parameter_settings but with not success. Hello, as already described in this topic: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/5619-nanopi-duo-sound-delay/ I have the same problem with delayed audio. -> " if I run speaker-test -t wav, instead of the sound playing "front left" it just play the work left, the continues playing "front left" correctly." When I run an audio-output-command two times, the audio is played well with the second command. But the greater problem in my case is a loud cracking noise when audio stops. Is there anyway to prevent the shutdown of the amplifier? I have to repeatingly start and stop audio files from nodejs. Thanks for your help, Jimmy

Hello everyone ! I'm facing a hard issue that I still cannot solve. On my Raspberry, on Raspberry Os, to be able to use Rustdesk (https://github.com/rustdesk/rustdesk, an open source Teamviewer ) I needed to add some tweaks to the /boot/config.txt file: hdmi_force_hotplug=1 (See doc) hdmi_group=2 (See doc) Now, I'm trying to replicate these behaviours on Armbian for Opi zero 3 (but it could probably work for all Allwinner cpus if a solution is found) When looking on the Armbian documentation for Sunxi, I've found this (See doc) : For example to always use the hdmi connector, even if no cable is inserted, using edid info when available and …

OrangePi PC H3 UsbTV kernel driver causes complete system freeze on Armbian OrangePi PC kernel 4.14. Did anyone observed similar issues? I already reported a bug against the USBTV repo, but not sure if this is the right place.
