I've been reading on the forums on the possibility of having multiple OSes inside 1 EMMC for the Opi PC+. From what I understand, inside a typical EMMC installation, it has 3 partitions: 1) Bootloader partition, which runs first and starts the main partition 2) main partition, contains OS files 3) unallocated free space suppose I have 2 devices: 1. Armbian Jammy Server 2. Armbian Jammy Desktop Now I want to make another device that has 2 OS partitions, like so: 1) Bootloader 2) 1st OS main partition, 3) 2nd OS main partition, 4) unallocated free space I'm thinking of using DD to extract the …

I have an Orange Pi Mini 2. As far as i know there is no official/ unofficial armbian build for this. there are other boards like orange pi pc, orange pi 2 and tritium h3 board whose images run fine for this board. I have also made armbian image builds with orange pi pc as target and these images work on opi mini 2. I would like to know how could i make a build exclusively for orange pi mini 2.

I have an Orange Pi PC Plus (Armbian Bullseye CLI) that I'm using as a NUT server connecting to a Cyberpower UPS. Every 30 minutes the driver stops working and upon further investigation, this looks to be a USB connection issue. Is there some power-saving mode that would cause this or any other known issue? Thanks!

Hello, I have a problem on my orange pi 3 lts. Namely, I have armbian 23.03 Jammy Xfce installed and on some screens it shows normally, on others the image does not appear. I also tried using the Uart converter and it loads everything normally, but then the following message starts appearing every second. After running the armbian-install program and selecting option "1 'Boot from SD - system on SATA, USB or NVMe'" the program transfers the contents of the SD card to the drive (SATA or NVMe). And it works. The problem occurs after booting - a message appears about the device being unable to mount /media/mmcboot . And indeed - the contents of /media/mmcboot and /boot are empty. The problem turns out to be the contents of the /etc/fstab file generated on the SATA/NVMe drive. The mount point /media/mmcboot has a only UUID value, but the text "UUID=" is missing before the value. After manually adding it, everything starts fine. If someone could lean in and correct th…

Hello, I'm using a Banana Pi P2-Zero based on H3 and I want to get Ethernet running. To no avail so far... When building the image, I use this parameters: BOARD=bananapim2zero BRANCH=current RELEASE=jammy BUILD_MINIMAL=no BUILD_DESKTOP=no I use the customize-image.sh script, but I don't change anything related to the drivers (or so I think). Hello guys, i'm trying to connect that ili9341 display with my m2 zero but it wont work. My armbian Version: Armbian_23-02-0-trunk_Bananapim2zero_lunar_edge_6.1.11_xfce_desktop The display has a pinout that matches with the raspberry pi, so also the banana pi m2 zero would do the job, since it has the same pinout like the raspberry pi has. It uses 26 pins to connect to the banana pi m2 zero gpio output pins. 3 buttons and a touch panel are available but i only want to use the lcd for now. I edited the armbianEnv.txt to open the spi port and added my overlay tft.dts to /boot/overlay-user but i cant get a picture on the screen, Its just glowing …

Hello, I am trying to use my NanoPi neo Plus 2 rev 1.2 board as KVM with help of (kvmd-armbian) and USB-HDMI capture card and USB-A to USB-A cable as OTG for emulation of Keyboard and mouse as HID. Good morning, I am using a version compiled with your script for Banana Pi M2 Berry to build a network HiFi streamer, and I am satisfied with it. I have installed LMS and Squeezelite, and everything is working great. Now I would like to add an Innomaker HAT AMP that has a 12V power connector that powers the Raspberry Pi at 5V via GPIO. The GPIO of the Banana Pi M2 Berry is declared compatible with the Raspberry Pi3, but I would like to be sure before frying the board in case it is not. Can you please confirm the total compatibility of the GPIO connector of the Banana Pi with that of the Raspberry Pi? Thank you for your response.

Hi, I've got a pair of OrangePi 3 LTS boards running the CLI only install of Debian Bullseye with a kernel of 5.15.89-sunxi64 and all the latest updates applied. But when I run the 'top' command, I always see a load of 1.0 or higher. Even when the system is completely idle. I'm running the system of the eMMC, not SDcards. I realize that this is really more of a cosmetic issue, but I was hoping someone had a suggestion on how to fix it. The system is mostly idle, it's a test box or remote management system, so it's not really critical, and the load doesn't go high anyway. Cheers, John

Hey, I recently decided to give the 22.11 a try on my M1, but I can't get my sata SSD to be the system root and boot again. 18.04 it worked for me with the exact same setup. I used this: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-install-to-emmc-nand-sata-nvme-usb went with armbian-install only option for me was boot from SD and system on sata. But after the preparation of the ssd, the reboot always runs into emergency mode with not really good hints how to solve, or what even the issue is. Any tips or hints are welcomed.

But after I removed the sd card (after turning the M1 off) and inserted into a Windows machine (it couldn't read the linux fs, did not format it) it won't start anymore. Tried with all the recommanded SD card software to test with the slowest method possible to detect errors on it, but no error on the sd card. Tried many times to write with the recommanded balena etcher the currently supported images on the sd card, like: Armbian_22.11.1_Bananapi_bullseye_current_5.15.80.img.xz Armbian_22.11.1_Bananapi_bullseye_current_5.15.80_minimal.img.xz Did check their…

Hello armbianers ! Armbian 22.11.1 Bullseye with Linux 5.15.80-sunxi on a banana pi m1 I've connected a lipo battery to my bpi m1, and now when I try to shutdown -h 0, it ends up in a kernel panic and instead of shutting down it remains powered up. Is there anything I can do to fix that? I'd know how to shut it down talking to the axp209 via i2c, but I'm not sure how/where to put that, or if that would be or not the proper way to go. Thanks, George.

Hello, I am using a NanoPi Duo2 with Armbian 22.11 and Kernel 5,15,80. This device uses an AP6216 wireless interface, which I have noticed are pretty common on sunxi based boards. Hi. After 2 years uptime it disconnected from wifi and was unable to reconnect even after reboot. I suspect my AC adapter has degraded. Can this SBC measure the voltage? Upd: saw this post: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/112122/wifi-not-connecting-depending-on-power-supply I use NetworkManager and when it starts it usually cannot connect to wifi saying that the pre-shared key is wrong, marking the connection as failed and not re-trying. In particular, the log contained a failed "asking for new key" message. Re-starting the service or manually activating the connection worked. As a workaround I created a *.conf file in …

Hi Everyone, Is there anything additional required to enable better performance improvements (kernel patch for TXTS and RXTS are set to 3 each see below link) on a Banana PI running Armbian V21 / V22 ? I have updated the bootloader, and OS, and the performance is still abysmally poor. Mechanical or SSD drive connected to on board SATA yields a whopping 2.7-10 MB/sec write speed using dd with a large block size, or with the iozone tool ~5 upto ~45 for larger block sizes. Still a very far cry from the ~120 after the kernel patch applied in ~2019 => https://forum.armbian.com/topic/10352-a20-sata-write-speed-improvement/ …

Greetings, I'm using latest Jammy on an OPIZ2. I've installed the Mate desktop and enabled the desktop with armbian-config. I get no HDMI output. Am I missing a step? Is the Mate desktop appropriate? Thanks. The system works with the vendor's debian distro, but I'd like something better.

Good afternoon. The problem is indicated in the title. The computer is connected to my monitor via HDMI and the screen resolution is only 1024x768. Which is inconvenient to use. I saw a similar topic raised on the official forum of a single-payer in 2019, but no one answered there. Is this a problem of the computer itself or the Linux kernel or drivers?

My Opi3 has been running armbian for over 2 years (edge kernels & usually fully up-to-date). I have been using eMMC & I noticed an apparent slowdown about 6 months ago. As it performs cron-based tasks and is a stats collector, this performance was not noticable but doing a manual BIG dist-upgrade, it seems to take forever (20 minutes to do what should be under 5 minutes). If I run "mmc extcsd read /dev/mmcblk1", the results tell me that the eMMC is at least 90% used whatever that really means. Is this a sign of imminent failure ? hdparm shows read results of 17 MB/s which is actually slower than my alternative SD card boot device and nearly 1/10th …

Hello, does this USB WiFi card work with armbian on Orange Pi 3 LTS? TP-Link Nano AC600 USB Wifi Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PB1X4CN/ Does it need any drivers to be installed? If yes, is there any that is working with OPi 3 LTS? Btw I want to use this wifi adapter, because Armbian doesn't work with internal wifi card in this SBC - https://forum.armbian.com/topic/23505-orange-pi-3-lts-no-wifi/ (and sadly Devs didn't release a fix for it)

Hello, Is there a guide / tutorial on making Kodi run with hardware acceleration enabled on Armbian on Orange PI PC Plus? e.g. like how LibreELEC does it. I have found a bunch of information on different sites and forums, but I can't put it all together. What I know so far: * Apparently the HW-accelerated decoding is supposed to be done on Kodi's side via VDPAU API * The Kodi build in Armbian repos does not have built-in support for libvdpau (?) * ffmpeg, the video decoding library used by Kodi, doesn't support Allwinner GPU out of the box and needs patching * Kodi needs to be re-compiled with the patched ffmpeg vers…

I would like to set a GPIO to output-high during the boot. In this case, the GPIO is PG0 whose number is 192. The device tree overlay is /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun50i-a64"; fragment@0 { target = <&pio>; __overlay__ { gpio_out_override_hog { gpio-hog; gpios = <192 0>; /* PG0 */ output-high; line-name = "PG0-gpio-hog"; }; }; }; }; However, after the application and reboot, I do not see any init information in "/sys/kernel/gpio" about GPIO 192. There is no "/sys/class/gpio/gpio192" folder existed after boot either. Is there anything wrong in the overlay file?

I had to reapply u-boot image. So, I did it by armbian-config and later by "dd" command. In both situations this is failing (please see u-boot messages printed by serial). I was restoring the image (I have backup images of my SD card) and trying again. What may be the problem? I had linux-u-boot-orangepi*-current 22.08.6 installed. As below - please note Verifying Checksum ... Bad Data CRC BTW. I tried the same on Orange Pi PC and Orange Pi Zero - the same result (fail to boot). => version U-Boot 2022.07-armbian (Oct 18 2022 - 07:35:20 +0000) Allwinner Technology arm-none-linux-gnueabihf-gcc (GNU Toolchain for the A-profile Archite…

Hello, I have a problem with uboot, during its scan of USB buses, it blocks for several tens of seconds, displays an error, then boots. Sometimes it blocks completely and it takes several ON/OFF attempts to get it started. I'm using Nano Pi Core LTS with the mini-shield, I have over 20 and it's happening on all of them. This is what is displayed when it finally starts : U-Boot SPL 2020.10-armbian (Aug 08 2021 - 15:18:24 +0200) DRAM: 512 MiB Trying to boot from MMC1 U-Boot 2020.10-armbian (Aug 08 2021 - 15:18:24 +0200) Allwinner Technology CPU: Allwinner H3 (SUN8I 1680) Model: FriendlyARM NanoPi NEO DRAM: 512 MiB MMC: mmc@1c0f000: 0, mmc@1c11000: 1 Loa…

Armbianmonitor: http://ix.io/4cYv Hi I'm trying (and failing miserably) to achieve a simple goal with my Orange Pi 3 LTS: to have pin PD15 set as 'output-high' on startup. From reading the documentation, it seems the logical way to go about this task is to create a custom DT Overlay so that's what I set out to do. Based on the Armbian documentation and various examples I found online, I created the following sun50i-h6-gpio-pwr-status.dts file under /boot/overlay-user : /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun50i-h6"; fragment@0 { target = <&pio>; __overlay__ { gpio_pwr_pin:…
