  1. Hi, New builds (hosted by armbian AND self compiled) of armbian do not post / boot at all. Completely black screen on hdmi outpout. Ethernet link lights do not light up. It's like there is no bootable media inserted (it definitely is). I have tried many combinations of different kernels and ubuntu versions. None work. Board: nanopc t6 8gb ram They used to work, and archived copies from november 2023 work, booting perfectly. I also compiled one back then which also worked. But now this is not working any more. Does anyone have idea why it no longer posts? Thanks Luke

  3. I have had major problems trying to use spidev on the pine RockPro64 SBC running Armbian_24.2.1_Rockpro64_jammy_current_6.6.16_xfce. I have posted these comments on the pine.org forum also. I think there is a problem with the spidev device in Armbian as it never toggles the CS line. When I controlled the CS line from my software, I could communicate, but the received data was wrong. I have no experience with the device tree, but I suspect an isue therein. To bypass the problem I wrote a bitbang routine and it works fine and gives the correct data. See the attached file for my discussion. usingspi.txt

  9. Hello, I've followed the steps on the Rock64 Armbian download page to enable overclock on my Rock64 running Armbian Xenial 5.60 (rock64 4.4.124-rk3328), yet I can't seem to increase the CPU clock frequency. I've also checked the Documentation-> Fine Tuning page where the same steps are listed. Steps: sed -i "s/MAX_SPEED=.*/MAX_SPEED=1510000/" /etc/default/cpufrequtils systemctl restart cpufrequtils I've checked the CPU frequency now and it looks like it's stuck at the default value. Shouldn't the new CPU frequency now be listed as 1.51GHz by the below commands ? rock64:~$ cpufreq-info -c 0 cpufrequt…

  10. Started by Ammonia,

My Helios64 was running fine with 5 HDDs for a couple of weeks, then I suddenly couldn't access the shares anymore and I noticed only two HDDs were running (the rest having no indicator lights). HDD slot 3, 4 and 5 appears "dead", no power up on boot, no indicator lights. I have checked both +12V and +5V rails and they are present, everything is plugged in. I can move the HDDs from slot 3, 4 and 5 to slot 1 and 2 and they will power up just fine. The hard drives also work in other machines. I'm a bit lost as to what might be wrong, any ideas?

  12. This feels really awkward, since I already asked about this problem in another part of the forum, but the bug reporting system says that bugs should be reported by posting in this section of the forum. Feel free to merge the other thread into this one if you want. (Link at bottom.) Linux kernel 5.15.x appears to have a serious regression that prevents GPIO from working correctly on the Rock Pi 4B+ (board version 1.73). Summary: All GPIO4A pins are nonfunctional: Pin 12 stuck off Pin 35 stuck off Pin 36 stuck off Pin 38 stuck off Pin 40 stuck off GPIO1B is nonfunctiona…

I'm running Armbian on a 4 GB Rock64, downloaded and installed yesterday. I've been using Debian/Raspbian/Armbian for about 10 years and I've really come to rely on Synaptic for searching and being able to make download scripts. Not every day but about once a week especially if I'm setting up something (like this Rock64). This Synaptic's access to the package database seems incredibly slow. A single search may take 20 minutes. After installing something it reloads the list and shows it on the screen, that can be another 20 minutes. During this time it's got 1 thread using 100% of one CPU. Typing is sometimes impaired, window repainting usually. …

  14. Sorry to repeat another case of this. Have attempted a few times to move boot from SD card to eMMC before the SD card fails. I did according to the wiki doc with nand-sata-install. Since I have OMV, I excluded the exports, and also afterward copied the salt and pillar. Also, in another attempt, on suggestion from another thread, I updated the boot loader and copied again. I can boot to my SD card, mount the eMMC, and see the root structure. From what I can tell in reading the boot output, it can't find any storage device? 4 USB Device(s) found scanning usb for storage devices... 0 Storage Device(s) found But I can see it whe…

  15. Hello, so we use Kobol 64 with OMV since 4 months, and no problem at all. Just yesterday, want to change Ethernet cable, correctly shutdown the Helios64 NAS, and impossible to start it again. Just have the right system light, but left LED no blinking, no information in the USBC terminal. For the "recovery", press the recovery button, and then press the power button, and the LED System don't light up. What can we do, format the system, and reinstall OMV with all parameters... Not really serious, ins't it ? Thank you for any help. Regard.

  17. I see that there is a lot of work ongoing on improving the UEFI boot support for Rock 5B and this is quite exciting. In my view this seem to be the ideal route for future SBC boards. However, I am yet to try it so I am still a novice in the area. How do you guys look at the future of UEFI vs U-boot for Linux on SBC’c in general and on the Rock 5B in particular? Will the UEFI version be as capable as a u-boot version or do you see limitations?

Hello, When I try to build any image for 5B with the Edge kernel and Ubuntu, it will not boot. No matter if desktop or server, both green and blue LEDs are permanently on, and the board doesnt start. If I choose Mainline or Midline kernel, it works. I used the official build enviroment, host is Ubuntu22, all updated & upgraded https://github.com/armbian/build

  20. Hi! I'm trying to create a vpn access point with a Rock64. I'm receving a low speeds with openvpn but the openssl tests show that there is crypto acceleration. I'm new to all of this. Would anyone be able to help me out with instructions for installing armbian to the EMMC of my Rock Pi N10? I've had Ubuntu installed using the OTG tool and also Armbian running off an SD card, but as soon as I run armbian-install and reboot the device doesn't come back up. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or the correct steps to troubleshoot.

  25. Hello! I'm able to reproducibly get a kernel oops whenever I start a docker container on my Helios64 The SD card I was running my Helios64 from died and so I reinstalled Armbian using the steps to install bookworm from this post. I did skip the steps related to hs400 and L2 cache as I'm currently running the system from an SD card. After the install seemed to be working well I installed zfs, imported my existing pool, and then installed docker. My previous setup was using docker's ZFS storage driver so I got that configured as well. Now, whenever I start up a docker container (ie by running "sudo docker run hello-world") I get the foll…

  26. Hi everyone! I got a Radxa E25 network computer with two 2.5GBit ethernet ports. The first one is coming up, the second one, however, does not. After comparing to the Debian Bullseye image by Radxa, I figured they don't bring the second port up either but for a different reason. Finally, I found a release on Radxa's Github that brings up both ports. I'll give you the output of that one and the Armbian and the Radxa E25 Bullseye images marked accordingly. The three images are: "b1 (rsdk)", "radxa-e25_bullseye_cli_b1.output.img.xz", works, source: https://github.com/radxa-build/radxa-e25/releases Radxa E25 B…
