Hi everyone, I’m trying to run Armbian on my old Mecool BB2 Pro TV box but I can’t get it to boot at all – the device always goes straight into Android. So i've been using the build: "Armbian_community_24.8.0-trunk.6_Aml-s9xx-box_jammy_edge_6.8.10" and trying to burn it with balenaEtcher. The issue is that when ending to verify and configuring - inserting the sd card into a TX3 Mini (board is v1.6) goes into a bootloop. This does happen with all of my sd cards and flash drives, and no, its not that they're faulting, CoreELEC does flash and boot correctly in all of them. I also did the f3 test, and no issues were found. Something particular that I have found is that macOS does detect very easily the corruption and ejects the drive/card, while Windows just lets it pass "as intended" I'…

Hello, i tried "Armbian_community_25.11.0-trunk.208_Aml-s9xx-box_plucky_edge_6.16.7_xfce_desktop.img" booting from a usb stick. First it looked, that it loads (the minix logo disappeared for some 100ms) which indicates that it loads, but then at the end the internal android booted. For comparison "LibreELEC-AMLGX.aarch64-13.0-nightly-20250926-2f25ce3-box.img.gz" booted fine, even from the sdcard slot. My final goal is, to run "tvheadend" as server with a "Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD" Usb STick and "Moonlight" client for "sunshine" on a 1280x1024@60hz nec display. Hello all, First straight to the point. Are there some issues with using Amlogic boxes as headless servers with armbian? For some reason ethernet "dies" if I boot it without HDMI connected and it doesn't "come back" even if I connect it back to the monitor and power it on again. I have to reflash SD card with fresh armbian to get it back up. Is this some known issue when using android boxes or is this something else? I tried two DTB files for S912 but there was no change. I need to use this UART on an S905 system installed with Armbian 22 and Kernel 5.15 through Python. I am able to do this by changing the permissions of /dev/ttyAML0 from 640 to 660. However I need to avoid having to issue the CHMOD command each time I power up. I have written a service in systemd to do this automatically at startup but the CHMOD command has no effect on the port permissions or else they are being overwritten later on during startup. The service is functioning correctly since CHMOD on another dummy file alters permissions as expected. Any suggestions please?

Friends, as shown in the image, I am trying to install a Linux system on this BTV: OTT BOX, model B11 with an Amlogic S905X3 CPU. However, I am not succeeding because it cannot read the USB drive. I have already tried changing the .ext, attempted to burn the image using Rufus, Balena, and nothing worked. I am using a Multilaser USB drive which I believe is 2.0. At the moment I don’t have another USB drive or memory card to test. Any suggestions?

Problem: It starts to boot, I see the Armbian splash screen, it stays for around 10 seconds then goes back to console with the (initramfs) prompt. Many years ago, I fooled around and managed to get this old, Android TV box to boot/run Armbian from external SD card. As I recall, I followed Steelman's instructions. It appears to have kinetic (Unbuntu?) installed. I ended up not really using it and it went back into a box. Now I have a use for it. I want to run this software. Anyone else ever get just a blank screen? I’m trying to install onto a Trongle S3 box. I’ve tried a number of dtb’s but as it’s a relatively rear box nothing is definite. Tried to match them by spec but hoped it would at least register an output on my monitor. I get a no signal notification. Hi all, I just managed to install Armbian to my Minix Neo U1 on sd card. I read the faq and found that installing on eMMC is better than on sd card because eMMC is faster and more durable. Now I'm curious that if I'm booting from eMMC: 1. How can I boot from sd card again? Just in case something's wrong with the eMMC etc. 2. Can I still use a blank sd card for storage? I have one Beeling GT1 with Balbes150 Armbian_20.10_Arm-64_buster_current_5.9.0.img and meson-gxm-beelink-gt1.dtb. Only get Eth0 or Wlan0 to connect if I go to Android and then reboot with USB pen inserted. If reboot directly to Armbian with previous boot to Android, get an error with Failed to raise. What can be done to insure Eth0 or Wlan0 will allways start at boot?

Hello, I have an old TV Box model MX-III-4K with S802 CPU and I booted into Armbian from an USB stick. I found an older Armbian version (and dtb) that works on this box and I have network and everything, so I'm happy with it, except that I would like to add also NAND support. Anyone can advise me how can I do that? Basically I would like to be able to access its internal NAND, to read it/write into it. Hi, I have a board (x301) that contains a T962X2 (which is supposed to be like a 905x2 but for smart TVs?) I am trying to boot armbian, but I cannot manage to make anything load the DTB I obtained (tl1-t962x2-x301-2g.dtb) thru dumping the android boot partition. Since a t962x2 is supposedly equivalent to a s905x2 I thought I'd use a s905x2 uboot.ext and change the DTB, but even if I change it the old one is used... How do I make u-boot load this dtb? Hi I have x96 box with s905x cpu, a long time ago i flashed it with libreelec and it was running from emmc only without a problem. Now flashed armbian to emmc but bootloader works only from usb or sdcard (cannot see mmc). Tried images s905x and s905x-t95 - same result. Is this a result of some misconfiguration/image selection or ..? Currently using sdcard for boot partition only as workaround.

Hi, I am using the Debian from below location. Running Containerized Home Assistant on my H96Max X3. After I started using that distribution instead of the very old balbes one, I have started to get crashes about every 5-7 days or so. Did slow down CPU in case it was heat etc, but no luck. Any ideas how I can troubleshoot this ? It just freezes and becomes unresponsive on network (ethernet and Wifi). I have not tried with keyboard/screen. I do have a WiFi power switch connected to it, so one of my other devices can power cycle it, but that is not the right solution. Tried a few upgrades. Hi. Running buster on Amlogic 912 arm box T95Z Max. As mentioned, the ethernet doesnt work but wifi does. Tried all the dtbs, no dice. Also, wanted to transfer the OS from SD to EMMC but neither does armbian-config have the boot option nor does nand-sata-install work. It says unrecognised command. Hello everyone, I have a Beelink GS king X android box with 2 hard drives. I want to be able to install a jellyfin server to share and synchronize my videos, audios and images on my other devices. On these other devices, I will use either Kodi or Corelec for playback. Is it possible and reliable to install Armbian on Beelink GS King X to be able to install a Jellyfin server, but also a samba sharing server to share all my files? Or should I rather opt for another CoreElec or Manjaro type solution for example?

Hello, I've a tv box marked MXQ PRO 4K quick play (S905 soc). toothpick recovery no longer works after installing not correct android rom Anyway I installed Armbian choosing random zip file in "update" app in android. Armbian works ok, but if I remove sd card android stays forewer in boot splash screen. Also I tried flash chip short, worked once, but now I can't repeat (is quite dangerous shortin random pins, no documentation for this board) Is it possible to trigger "reboot update" from armbian? Or to start recovery from Armbian. I have android IMG with dtg.img and recovery.img if needed- Thanks for help

Hello, My pet labubu and I got the most recent onecloud/odroid c1 versions fully working on my horrid former Oriental TV box, the TVPad 4 (previously brought up by user @daniyo). Everything works perfectly, except I want to finish my building by installing to eMMC. None of the recent builds I can find come with an install.sh script, and I cannot see the eMMC (or NAND if it's NAND) in lsblk or any of the installers. Does anyone have any clues or suggestions that can help the poor long suffering Labubu fix this issue? He just wants to watch IPTV and play little games
