Hello every body, I need some help, I can't install Citadel mail server on my Nanopi duo2 board. Previously i try to install ISPconfig mail server on default armbian-config but not work, then i try Citadel because I already have a little familiarity with this program. After write IOS on mem card and updade/upgrade command I followed the guidelines of the Citadel website which is to execute the following commands: "curl http://easyinstall.citadel.org/install | bash", but after downloading and starting the installation, many error messages appear due to lack of space. Below is some information from my system: IOS version: Armbian_20.05.4_Nanopiduo2_focal_current_5…

Greetings, I'm attempting to apply a custom patch during the build process for a bananapi-m2-zero. (specifically, DTS changes) I went into the kernel source, and created a diff, and put it in the user customized patches directory. Unfortunately, the patch failed. So, I dug into it, and discovered the source changes because of patches in the armbian patches/ directory. So, instead I started the build, let these patches apply,, and aborted the build. Then I created the diff again. Sadly, the patch is still being rejected. Now, I might be able to fight with this, and make it work. But the next time I pull a new update it could be broken a…

Problem: Wifi Dongle D-Link DWA-131 (RTL8192EU) doesn't work in automated 'armbian-config' program to configure it as an AP. Tried: On a fresh install of Buster Current on SD card, I booted up and did 'armbian-config > Network > Hotspot'. At the end of the setup it said there is no compatible 'hostapd' driver. I also tried an image of FriendlyWRT on this SBC. I could get the Wifi Dongle to be recognized, but radio0 said "device not set", and wifi was 'not associated'. Goal: Get DWA-131 to function as a hotspot on my FriendlyElec NanoPi R2S using armbian (or FriendlyWRT). I want to use this device as a hotspot (or rou…

Hi, im trying to build a receiver with WebRTC. I tried multiple Boards (Raspberry PI 3B, RPI 3B+, AML-S905X-CC, NanoPI Fire3), but none of them had the power to display a Full HD Video. After some research I stumbled up on this article ( https://bootlin.com/blog/tag/allwinner/ ). So now my question would be if I can get Hardware Acceleration in Chromium with the mainline kernel, with Allwinner H2/H3? Or is there any other Option I can get WebRTC Hardware Accelerated? Thanks for the help

I recently reinstall my Tinkerboard with Focal Desktop to start over. I installed xrdp in armbian-config, and RDPed in, there was no wallpaper, no desktop icon, no mouse icon and windows I opened looks weird (but xfce taskbar shows up) I came to the conclusion that it has something to do with auto login, so a quick google leads me to this instruction, I commented the line in "/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/22-armbian-autologin.conf" out, reboot, and the RDP environment works great. Except now there is lightdm-gtk-greeter process in the background that is taking 100% CPU usage in full clock speed, the board became hot (>70 degree Celsius) very quickly. …

I have a raspi hat (rak2245) that has 2 versions: a pi-hat version that has a 40 pin-header on it for raspberry pi's , but also a smaller stamp edition. It uses spi and uart to communicate with the pi. I have it running without issues on my orange pi zero, even though the pinheader is a little too large. And via a breadboard I can access all pins just fine. But since I am making my own PCB anyway, I am interested in using the stamp version. The only difference between the stamp and the pi-hat version (aside from the form-factor and pin-out) is that the pi-hat version has an additional eeprom chip to tell the rapsberry pi about the function of the pins apparently. Now…

I just experienced this old problem with Focal: WD drives inaccessible starting with kernel 4.13 -As the topic is now closed, I'd like to add some information. My drive is a 2.5" 1TB WD10SPZX (WD BLUE). It was connected via a Startech.com port-multiplier. Normally I use only WD RED, but I had to move some large files, so I attached it temporarily. Is anyone else running their build environment in a VM? Specifically hosted by QEMU? I'm running into some strange things, and wondering if anyone has seen it. I'm running an Ubuntu (20.04) in a VM using QEMU as the hypervisor. Basically, the build generally works fine. However, as I add more features/processes to the customization script, I am starting to see segmentation faults. I see this with sudo and when I try to git pull something. This is what I get: qemu: uncaught target signal 11 (Segmentation fault) - core dumped Segmentation fault (core dumped) I got here by dumping into a bash script from 'customize-image.sh', so it'…

Hello all, Im new to Armbian and sbc's. I have a OPi Z+2 and NPi Neo Air and they are both being used for the same purpose, will use 2x UART and I2C. I will add software bundles to Debian image for production use. Can anyone tell me if I can use the same Armbian image on both devices ? ie make a single image and then just rely on the Overlay selection on the image to allow our custom software to access correct GPIO automatically for both board types ? Thanks for any advice. Chris

Hello guys, I have a NOVAsom M7+ board with a RTL8723bs module with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth integrated. The Wi-Fi works normally and without problems, however the Bluetooth isn't detected at all. When I try to open the Bluetooth Manager app gives me this error: "Connection to BlueZ failed. BlueZ daemon is not running. blueman-manager cannot continue. This probably means that there were no Bluetooth adapters detected or Bluetooth daemon was not started". I already searched the internet and found some people with problems related to this module and Bluetooth, does anyone know how to solve this? Best regards

Hi there, I don't know yet much about the USB gadget framework, but was wondering it I could use it to make an Orange Pi Zero or One seen as a video sink by the host computer. I know the framework should allow the board to be seen as an audio source, a video source, a Midi device and other things, but could it be seen as a video consumer of some sort ? My goal would be to grab the host's webcam content, encode and stream it on the SBC so that the host's CPU still has resource for other tasks. Does it make sense ? Thanks.

Hi Armbian Community, I am trying to get the Coral/Google NPU (M.2 PCIe key) to work with the NanoPC-T4. Without success. I built Armbian with linux headers (5.4.48) and was able to apt install the gasket-dkms package. (The EdgeTPU requires Google's Gasket and Apex drivers to be built as modules with DKMS, and thus requires the linux headers to be installed at /usr/src). Also, there was no conflicting Gasket or Apex module in the Armbian release prior to install (an issue found by other EdgeTPU systems on other distros). My problem, I believe, has to do with the NanoPC-T4's PCIe. I have tried many different kernels (FriendlyElec's Core/Des…

I've copied Armbian Ubuntu Focal onto a brand-new SD card and started it on an Orange Pi Zero. This has worked before with the Bionic version. After setting it up and upgrading all packages, I rebooted and everything was running smoothly. Now I've done the same as before but found that the system is totally slow after running for just one day. It's set up to collect data from a 1-Wire temperature sensor and send it to my server. And it lets the green LED blink twice every 30 seconds to show it's still there and has a network connection. The network is connected via Ethernet cable, WLAN is not used. Observation 1: It took half a minute to login the first time t…

Hi, I'd like to setup log2ram so that it never writes to the disk, but rather discards all logs at shutdown. The documentation for log2ram says that if I delete /etc/cron.daily/log2ram it will only sync the logs to the disk at shutdown. But is there a way to have it not even do that? Also, in order to prevent log2ram from filling up all its space in RAM, is it possible to setup an overwrite mechanism so that the logs begin overwriting themselves once they hit the space limit?

I read a lot of U Boot documentation the last hours but I still fail at fundamental understanding, like: - where can variables be set? boot.scr obviously, but there is also uEnv.txt boot.cmd armbianEnv.txt ... and in which order and precendence are they parsed? (If I set a variable in different files, which value will be used? first? last? ...) - how is a change made persistent (saveenv does not work) - Can sub-variables be changed, e.g. root in bootargs what I am trying to achieve atm is to change the boot partion rootdev from p1 to p2. Even thou I think I patched the relevant files, printenv shows that bootargs and rootdev are still set to…

Hello I wanted to post on here regarding a new project we have been working on called SimpNAS. Its similar to OpenMediaVault or FreeNAS but simpler and more basic. Its currently in Beta but we are looking to have a stable release by the time Kobol ARM NAS gets released. It can be installed on armbian devices as long as it has two hard drives one for the OS and one for Data. For example we have it installed on an ODroid HC2, but can be installed on any PC. Feedback will be greatly appreciated. Check it out here https://simpnas.com Thanks for looking

I am trying to setup my Odroid-XU4 with Armbian 20.05.2 booting from MMC and no SDCard in slot. It took me a while but finally I found what I needed. Next I've installed OpenMediaVault using armbian-config, that worked well. Within OMV I've tried to setup VLANs which I could define but they didn't work, so I had to take a deeper look into it. I've found that the interface name needed to be reverted back to eth0 since the new naming convention enx<MAC-address without ":"> uses the max available number of characters already: In my case "enx001e06320261" , so if you add a vlan "enx001e06320261.1" the name is to long, it will not start. This could be so…

Hello all, I have a Novasom M7 Plus board with a Rockchip RK3328 that initially had an SD card with Armbian. I made the necessary hardware connections to connect to a screen via HDMI and then I followed all the necessary steps to perform the BOOT through the eMMc memory but after transferring the rootfs it will not start via EMMC, only with the SD card it is possible to start the system. I have tried a lot of solutions that I am finding in the forums but I still haven't been able to solve the problem. The goal is to start Armbian without having the SD card inserted.

OrangePiZero, Armbian_20.05.1_Orangepizero_buster_current_5.4.43 in RPI they have an option "Boot without waiting for network connection" which to be honest I do not know does what under the hood. On my Orange Pi Zero I run Armbian Buster and the only software running is Shairport. Unfortunately I used to have a crackling noise every 20-40 secund which was solved after entering root@orangepizero:~# renice -n -19 -u shairport-sync 110 (user ID) old priority 0, new priority -19 So far so good - but after a reboot the prio is again 0. So I tried to use nice nice -19 shairport-sync but after a reboot the prio was again 0 How can I set the priority of all process run by the user (-u) “shairport-sync” to -19 when they start?

Hello, I've copied the Armbian Bionic image onto an SD card (and verified it) and put it into my new Orange Pi Zero LTS 256 MB. I already have experience with Raspberry Pis and Raspbian for a few years, so this isn't entirely new to me. While I was trying to establish a stable network connection (wired and wireless), I misinterpreted some "host not reachable" as "network failed" when instead other issues existed. In the process, I unplugged the power a few times after the device has booted up but wasn't reachable via the network. Only then I connected the serial console and investigated further. There I found out that it wasn't actually booting any…

I guess my application is IOT - I am getting data via USB and SPI, report status via GPIO LEDs and upload data to the internet. I am enjoying raspberrypi 3B but it's huge and relatively expensive. I am trying to return Orange Pi 2G IOT since it's a disaster. Looks like Orange Pi Zero for a bit under $20 would not be a disaster? Are there other boards to consider if I care about physical size and price?

I can't synchronize the clock using my GPS module. I get this error message: ntpd[1345]: kernel reports TIME_ERROR: 0x41: Clock Unsynchronized It only appears when I use my GPS source. When connecting to NTP servers, everything is okay. http://ix.io/2nUZ I tested it with older kernels, and it works, but I have then other issues. Any help are welcome.

So I downloaded Armbian_20.02.1_Orangepione_buster_current_5.4.20_desktop and I boot it up in my Orange PI PC and it started very well, there is one issue, I noticed that just one USB port is working, so I can only work with a mouse or a keyboard (It sounds dumb I know), so do you have any solution for that? Also I would like to know if a wifi dongle can work with this image.

I'm trying to setup Ethernet connection on Omnima A20 - it's a cheaper stripped down version of Cubietruck (less RAM, less IO connectors, RTL8201CP 100Mbit network chip instead of 1Gbit). I'm using Debian Buster server image for Cubietruck. Everything works fine except Ethernet. ethtool says the link is up, full duplex 100Mbit. Neither networkmanager nor dhclient are able to obtain IP address from router. Static IP assignment (via /etc/network/interfaces or with "ip addr add/ip route add") succeeds, but router is unreachable for ping ("Destination Host Unreachable"). I've ruled out hardware failure: Inserting the same cable into laptop produc…

Hi, I'm using armbian on a FriendlyElec Zero Pi device as my wireguard server. This is a extremely cheap device and for this reason it was chosen since I don't need powerful performances. It happened that I found a tutorial that switching the Congestion Control for BBR (mine says it is cubic), would allow me to experience performance improvements. I'm not being able to change this parameter in my image already configured using: root@zeropi:~# sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_congestion_control=bbr The output says: sysctl: setting key "net.ipv4.tcp_congestion_control": No such file or directory net.ipv4.tcp_congestion_control = bbr U…

Hi, I asked earlier about getting armbian running on a particular RK3399 system-on-module, but I wanted to try a different angle now: is there an RK3399 SoM that currently runs armbian well? For example, this one claims to: http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/SOM-RK3399v2 . Has anybody here actually used that board with armbian? I'm more inclined to believe you guys than the people selling the board... George

Hi I'm trying to use OpiZero with a relais module. I noticed, during the boot the pins I tried (12 and 11, physical 3 resp 5) go high, which makes impossible to manage the relais module. Is it a HW/SW bug or limitation or something what can be configured somehow. I would expect the level to be "nothing" ;-) Thanks Chris

Hi All, I'm planning to use an RK3399-based system-on-module for an embedded application, and would like some advice about the work required to produce an Armbian build that runs on it. The SoM is made by Graperain ( https://www.graperain.com/ARM-Embedded-RK3399-System-On-Module-Gf/ ), and they have provided an SDK which is clearly an old copy of the Rockchip's github repo (4.4 kernel) with some unidentified tweaks to get it working on this board (including .dts files and presumably some bootloader stuff?). I realize this particular board is likely not of interest to the community, but I figure the general discussion around getting a new board running may be. …

Doing apt search took just a few seconds before, but since some days, probably after an apt update && apt upgrade, it has become so slow that a search takes many minutes (20+ minutes) instead of seconds. I don't know why, and I don't know how to fix this. Do you know what to do? The slow part of the search is where it says "Full Text Search". It reaches 50% quickly, and then goes slow. I am trying to investigate why borg backups, specifically when doing borg check, are taking over twice as long on armbian buster + OMV5, compared to armbian stretch + OMV4. The borg server is an Odroid HC2, and borg check runs on the server (HC2) and is single threaded. Not sure where to even start, but one thing that caught my attention is that the borg process will be running at 100% CPU at various times (as expected), but the CPU frequency at those same times was reported at 200-300 MHz when observed using htop. Is this normal? Unfortunately I don't know what frequency was normal in the same circumstances with armbian stretch + OMV4. Benchmarks …

Using my Orange Pi Zero 512 H2 I want wo build a POE-powered display, displaying the current time, time until the bus leaves and ideally some information on bus schedules I can pull from the API of the local bus network. What I currently have is an Orange Pi Zero 512 H2 and a POE injector where I can insert any voltage as it does not run with standard POE voltage. My plan is to buy this e-paper display https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/7.5inch_e-Paper_HAT_(B) and have the Orange Pi display a simple HTML page. So my first question is: Would this display run, would it be a good choice for my setup? Are there any similar projects (yes, I searched) that…
