    Hey guys, Some questions about LCD interfacing. I have a A20 board and 2 LCD, one 640*480 3.5" (FJ035CI54-R40), one 320*240 3.5" (LQ035NC111, same as bananapi LCD). Both LCD have the same pinout, formfactor and ribbon so should be hardware compatible. 1 - LQ035NC111 I could get the LQ035NC111 to work on legacy kernel with the following script.fex (for reference) Spoiler [disp_init] disp_init_enable = 1 disp_mode = 0 screen0_output_type = 1 screen0_output_mode = 4 screen1_output_type = 2 screen1_output_mode = 11 fb0_framebuffer_num = 2 fb0_format = 10 fb0_pixel_sequence = 0 fb0_scaler_mode_enable = 1 fb1_fram…

  5. Hi, I've read this post but it's two years old. What I need is a SBC (in order to save some energy costs, otherwise have to go to x86) that could be used as a small SOHO firewall and router and also small file and backup server. I'd need gigabit ethernet (preferably with dedicated controller), at least one, could buy a dongle to have another port. A SATA interface would be nice, otherwise USB 3 is needed. Probably at least two USB 3, one for the ethernet dongle, another for the SATA disk. UASP support would be great. The lower the cost and the more stable the best. What do you recommend?

  8. Hello forumees. I am running as root on an OrangePI Zero+ which uses a H2 processor running a CL version of arrmbian 3.4.113 which works fine. I have recently obtained a SimCom SIM7600CE GSM/GPS module which has only a USB interface. I tracked down drivers for it but the Linux version must be compiled to a module which I have managed (with a number of warnings) after a couple of hiccups. Now trying to install the compiled module is resulting in error messages. I think the problem is compatability with armbian which is beyond my expertise, so I am asking for help. Below is the CL dialog of my attempts to install the module. ```````````````` root@gpsC…

I remember trying to install a usb wifi dongle in the past and while it gave me lots of headaches, i did manage to make it work. It's been a while since i used wifi (it's been a while since i used the SBC too to be honest). Today i decided to power it up at least just to update it. When it was installing kernel related stuff, it gave an error stating it couldn't build the 8192cu module (or something like that), the specific log says scripts/Makefile.build:432: recipe for target '/var/lib/dkms/8192cu/1.10/build/8192cu.o' failed make[1]: *** [/var/lib/dkms/8192cu/1.10/build/8192cu.o] Error 1 Makefile:1368: recipe for target '_module_/var/lib/dkms/8192cu/1.10/b…

I have access to all the files. After that I used the command "mdadm --grow /dev/md127 --size=max" to grow the size. I'ts now showing 10.92TiB in Raid Management but it didn't reshape or grew the partitions/filesystems. If I hit resize in File Systems for one partition, nothing happens. I have two partitions: /dev/dm-0 /dev/dm-1 ignore /dev/sde1, it's an external usb HDD. Any advice? how can I res…

  37. Apologies for this noob question but I am still new to Ubunto. If a piece of software is currently available as a binary archive only and the accompanying installation advises unzipping it to "a folder" and running the software from this place I presume this is not really advisable, as would be the same in the Windows world. In which case, should I install the software in, say, /usr/share and run it from there or is it okay to just unzip it and run it out of the /home/[username]/ directory? Thanks!

  48. Hello - I have attempted an install of Armbian Stetch on a Pinebook (non HD) with the latest image from https://www.armbian.com/pinebook-a64/. I can power on the pinebook and can SSH in, and have successfully installed to the internal emmc, however the screen does not come on. This pinebook readily works with other OS images I've attempted. I suspect I'm just missing something somewhat obvious, but I can't find reference to this issue elsewhere - how do I enable access via the screen/keyboard on the device itself? Thanks!

  49. Hi, I have a nanopi neo SBC and my final goal is to get Sunxi-cedrus 2019.03_Release (patched kernel 5.0.0 release) installed on device to test cedrus driver. Did a manual kernel build and tried to dpkg -i *.deb files on the board but the kernel hangs on boot. I read also but that didn't help me so much So I tried same procedure to replace the armbian standard 4.19.20 kernel with an official mainline 4.19.36 version. I found same exact issue so I think I'm missing something. Please have a quick read at the procedure I followed and put any advice to help me going through. 1) touch default kernel .config to have: -…

  50. Some people noticed that Pulseaudio mixes is showing "Built-in Audio" for all the audio devices of the SBCs. I investigated and found that the issue is related to ALSA: the devices are not really exposed by their real hardware connection (HDMI, SPDIF, ...) but just as "hw" devices. Pulseaudio is interpreting this as built-in audio because does not know anything else of the device. I'm no ALSA expert at all, copied some already existing configuration files without really understanding what I did, I found a solution. To solve the problem with SPDIF and HDMI you need to place the following two configuration files in /usr/share/alsa/card. Call the…

Hi everyone, I have a Helios 4 running Armbian 5.68 I have set up Nextcloud, and everything is working. However, if the server is "cold" it takes several seconds for the page to load. If the server is "hot" then the page loads immediately. I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to keep the page loading at its fastest speed. I'm confident that it's not due to the hard drive going into standby. I have used the command sudo hdparm -S 0 /dev/sda To disable the hard drive going into standby mode, and confirmed that the slow loading still occurs if the hard drive is active/idle with sudo hdparm -C /dev/sda Any s…

When Linux gets loaded it's possible to read a state of this GPIO line, but during an u-boot phase result is the same ( 0 ) regardless of a real state of the button (`gpio input pl4`). 75. I am looking to build a stable applicance that is updateable on demand / over-the-air in an atomic way. Ideally, it uses a dual-partition setup, where the is an active rootfs and an inactive one. On update, a new rootfs is streamed directly to the inactive partition, the device reboots to the new rootfs and - if everything runs according to plan - the new rootfs is committed as the new active one. If the reboot fails, the device reverts to the previous (still active) rootfs. This functionality is very common with embedded devices, many using the Yocto project. This is what I get once a day via email from each of the systems: From: Cron Daemon <XXXXXXXXXXXX> X-Google-Original-From: root@cubie (Cron Daemon) Received: by cubie (Postfix, from userid 0) id 5FC6511FA06; Mon, 25 Mar 2019 06:25:13 +0000 (UTC) To: root@cubie Subject: Cron <root@cubie> test -x /usr/sbin/anacron || ( cd / && run-parts --report …

  93. Soo, few weeks ago, I left the Orange Pi Zero unpowered. Then, now, after I power it on, I quickly ran the 'update' and 'upgrade' commands to upgrade my system... Well, then I ran 'armbianmonitor -m' to check my CPU's temperature and to see if I had installed the cooling fan correctly. Suddenly, I noticed its clock speed is no longer 1200Mhz maximum. I was freaked out then, so I quickly checked the CPU's lowest and highest clock speed using 'cpufreq', and it said that the maximum speed is 1008Mhz (About 1,008ghz), and the minimum speed is 120Mhz (About 0,12ghz). I don't understand why :v I only left it unpowered for a few weeks and now its clock speed just got decreased f…

Hello I've seen threads about this topic before but can't get around if Armbian for Tinkerboard S is working with the official Raspberry Pi display? I have it working great with TinkerOS, problem is that I'm missing some kernel modules like CAN, CAN-raw and SLCAN which ThinkerOS doesn't ship with. That's why I would like to run Armbian instead. This is the display: https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/raspberry-pi-touch-display/ Can anyone tell me how to get the display working with Armbian?

Hi I am having problems with my OrangePi +2e. It may be failing and need replacing but I would like to make sure it is not some other issue first. I use the OrangePi +2e as a Network attached audio (NAA) device for HQPlayer running on a MacMini. Since installing Stretch . The NAA now shows H3 Audio Codec as well as the usb input for my digital audio converter. This did not show up when using Xenial. Is there a command to disable H3 Audio Codec? it may be causing a conflict issue? I am unable to return to Xenial as NAA software no longer supports it. Thanks in advance Carl Mawer

  96. I recently got my OV5640 camera working with an orange pi PC board, but I've found that after a while of leaving it powered on unused, I'm unable to access /dev/video0. When it's in this non-working state, trying to access /dev/video0 results in the following in dmesg: [ 99.571841] [OV5640@lex]CSI_SUBDEV_STBY_OFF! [ 99.608221] [OV5640@lex]enable oe! 97. Could the maintainer please rebuild the package? The package linux-source-4.19.20-next-sunxi has the kernel source code in a tarball linux-source-4.19.20-sunxi.tar.xz, but that tarball has an error in it. It contains the following link: wireguard -> /home/igorp/samsung/cache/sources/wireguard/src This is an oops on Igor's part. Incidentally, I found a number of broken links, I'm not sure if these are all errors: /usr/src$ find -follow -type l -ls 142207 0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 47 Feb 9 11:01 ./net/wireguard -> /home/igorp/samsung/cache/sources/wireguard/src 634352 0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root …

Hi forum, I want to try out KVM virtualization since I found out that Odroid HC-1 (=Odroid XU4) does in fact support hardware virtualization and should therefore have a good performance. (Is this true, has someone already done this and can confirm?) In the past I have worked with other virtualization software but this would be my first time to use kvm. Not long ago I started a server projet which works very very well and serves all my needs. The little board is so efficient indeed that I got more than 1GB of unused RAM and also a lot of unused performance. Therefore I wondered whether I could safely use the board to virtualize an enviro…
