  8. For any one interested in software defined radio the OrangePi.pc and Armbian 5.05 software is a killer combination. The extra horsepower of the Allwinner H3 quad core and the clean Armbian Linux implementation give you a great platform for Software defined Radio. The $10 low cost RTL2838 dongle has an enormous amount to offer. But plugging it into a big computer laptop is not always practical It is often better to put the RTL2838 dongle as close to the antenna as possible. This could mean a long USB cable and voltage drop issues. So now you can buy a $9.99 Orange Pi.one and use it as a RTL to ethernet/ opt.wifi extender. You "just" Plug the RTL2838…

  9. I am thinking about the Over-scan on first boot issue and the problems people are having trying to log in if the login questions are off the screen bottom. I under stand it is caused by not having a lot of development into the screen size adjusting software. It is essential that the lead developers prioritize the main Armbian bugs issues and I do not consider on the fly screen resizing a major issue when a stop gap solution could possibly work. My temporary solution would simply be that all logins scripts be tripled. ie.. Login login login: password password password: Enter New Password Enter New Password Enter New Password: S…

Hi, When I format my hard drive and I want to make partitions, just / for the system and Swap partition, Gparted only allows me to make one, saying I only can make one primary partition, so I make one for / (in this step extended and logical options are disabled) Then I want to use the free space for swap and all options are disabled, not even logical or extended partition options. and from the beginning I only can chose logical partition because extended is disabled. 24. It's important to believe blindly in numbers! At least when you try to be mislead as much as possible! Yesterday Michael Larabel from Phoronix fired up his usual set of passive benchmarking tests for the new Raspberry Pi 3 and he still uses rather questionable results for other boards to compare with (he claims that it would be sufficient to use a board with 'factory settings', run a set of synthetic benchmarks, don't analyse the results or even think about whether they could be wrong and treat the results as the truth) RPi 3 is 4 times faster than OPi PC and 6 times faster than OPi Plus? Really? If you just try to think about these graphs for a second it…

The ifb network device is quite useful when doing experiments with tc (trafficx control), and it is absolutely necessary when you want to affect incoming traffic (normal tc netem works only on outgoing packets) Thank you.

  53. Hi all I am currently working on my Orange Pi Plus A31s. What I did with your image so far: The image Link for Debian Jessy pointed me to the Banana Pi M2 image. Downloaded it, dd-ed it to the sdcard, powerup, the red led keeps flashing for ever (waited 15 minutes) So i started to wander around the sdcard and noticed the link /boot/script.bin pointing io /boot/bin/bananapim2.bin. But this file was not present. I tried all 3 images, but i was unable to find that file. I copied it over from other project, that did not work. And I copied it from the same folder /boot/bin/orangepi.bin -> /boot/bin/bananapim2.bin with the same result. Can you help me wi…

I was using bananian for the last year(and I still do) on a M1 for a operational running webservice. Is it worth the time to switch to armbian? Are there any big differences? I want to switch the board sometime in the future; thats why I'm interested in the more flexible armbian in the first place. But right now I cant find a good alternative to the M1 for my use case.

Hey, I basically need the LXC Kernel modul for the lxccu homematic software. Is this already included in the newer kernel drivers for the available debian or do I need armbian? I'm not 100% sure what the differences for armbian and debian are? Could someone explain that to me? thx! Cheers Btw: Is the Allwinner R8(m) also supported? I'm just starting to build up the community for the $9 computer CHIP which uses this processor. Would be great to have some more ways in building kernels. I really need to config my own kernel there to included touch screen drivers. Is this possible with the armbian too?
