Good day! I have made modifications to the kernel driver for the temperature sensor Dallas ds18b20 on w1 bus. Slightly corrected timings, have achieved stable operation of sensors with parasitic power, and also added the option of changing the resolution. Now you can easily set 9,10,11 or 12bit resolution, by a simple command "echo 9..12 > /sys/bus/w1/devices/28-xxxxxxx/w1-resolution". Accordingly, when you lower the resolution significantly decreased the response time of the sensor from 1100ms (whith 12bit) down to 125ms (with 9bit). My question is can I post here the modified source code of the driver, or it will violate any rights? w1 folder, after mo…

  2. Ever since I updated the BPi recently, the ramlogger stopped working. I'm regularly getting mail from the Cron Daemon saying this: /usr/lib/armbian/armbian-truncate-logs: 19: /usr/lib/armbian/armbian-truncate-logs: logrotate: not found … so, it looks like the paths are messed up since the program is definitely installed in `/usr/sbin/`.

  3. Hello, I've been using a M4V2 since its release mostly as a NAS (disks over UBS 3.0). I also have it booting from a Samsung NVMe with the official NVMe hat. My setup works flawlessly however I was thinking about ways to add more storage with reasonable performance/price so I thought, what if I managed to add a standard PCIe x1 port from the pins on the board and use standard hardware with it. The idea was to add a cheap PCI switch + NVMe adapter (to boot from) and a PCI to SATA controller such as the following: 1) PCI Switch: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-Express-1X-to-4X-PCI-E-4-Ports-Switch-Multiplier-Expansion-Riser-Card-New/293564888…

I have added in the following lines: echo ds1307 0x68 > /sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-7/new_device hwclock -f /dev/rtc -s Could be a possible reason that hwclock is already linked with internal RTC? Is it possible that DS1307 is not recognised? If I do "modprobe ds-1307" I got the answer: "modprobe: FATAL: Module rtc-ds1307 not found in directory /lib/modules/5.3.11-rockchip64" Could this be the reason? The driver for ds-1307 doesn't exist? How can I get it? P.S. : The OS is Armbian Buster with Linu…

The .img checksum downloaded with the image and the checksum I ran were the same. When I check the online checksum here on armbian.com under downloads, sha, TODAY, the checksum is different. Is there any reason for me to believe that my original checksum and download may have been corrupted? I realize I can just re-download the image now, but whose to say that the one posted now is correct and not the previous one (while maybe both correct/fine)? I know that in mainline kernel you can edit this file arch/arm/boot/dts/sun7i-a20.dtsi and configure it yourself. 1)I would like to know where (if) you can control voltage somewhere for 3.4 kernel. I was unable to found any info. 2) in /boot/script.bin i found out parameter "dram_clk", I assume that you can change freq of RAM here. Somewhere I read (I think form tkaiser) that you can add 48MHz steps to CPU/memory. Why exactly 48MHz? That is very interesting for me. Some clock source/timer works in 48 MHz? …

  15. Edit: Issue is solved, see here. It's an application problem but according to an extensive Google research this does not seem to be a common problem of Samba, so it might be an integration problem with the environment it is running in. Clients are Windows 10 and a BananaPi running Armbian (Debian Buster 4.19.y kernel) as well. The observation: When downloading (large) files from the Samba share to Windows 10, the download speed very often suddenly drops down to zero and stays on that rate (forever). This can be best…

  16. Hey. I have a waveshare 4.3" 480x272 screen, that I'm trying to get to work with my orange pi zero +2, or nanopi M1 plus. However, I can't get the screen to show the right resolution - that only seems possible on my raspberry pi (which I don't want to use for this project). I've been running over all the (little) info I can find, and it seems to be a general problem to get hdmi working if the screen edid is a bit flaky - is this still the case, or is it possible to get this combination of opi/nanopi to work on this display? Hello, I've been playing on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ with an I2S audio amplifier and could play music from it. Now I want to add more devices to experiment with multi-room systems. The only other system with I2S support I have here is a NanoPi NEO. It has dedicated I2S pins so that shouldn't be too complicated. I thought. But it doesn't work. 'aplay -l' says "no soundcards found" and 'speaker-test -c2' essentially says the same. 'armbian-config' doesn't have a switch to enable I2S, only SPDIF, which sounds plausible considering that the SPDIF pin is multipurpose while the I2S pins are not. A web search for several terms didn't bring up something useful.…

Hi, I'm compiling a kernel (using 5.8.16-sunxi) for an H3 board that has the RTL8189es chip onboard. But the make fails due to a missing include file. It turns out that the makefile for this driver expects a "src" variable to be loaded with the path for the makefile. But I can't find any defining reference to this variable or any mention in the make documentation that it is an internal function. I've managed to fix this by setting src to srctree and the sub-path for this driver. But this seems very clumsy to me. Can somebody explain how "src" is meant to be loaded and why it's not happening for me ? Thanks, Steven

Now I only get "Starting Linux", which means that output is send to serial console not tty from what I read. I read that I'd have edit uEnv.txt in order to solve the console issue and continue debugging the issue, but I cannot find this file anywhere on the partition. I tried to revert boot.scr but this did not change anything. I probably could revert to the old kernel by changing the symlinks as well, but I would rather like to use the new kernel....

  57. Hi, I am using Nano Pi Duo2 (Allwinner H3) with latest Armbian OS. My goal is to have all the OS and Data on SD Card Encrypted. It should be secure from hacks. I am now evaluating Armbian Buster and I am seeing a strange issue perhaps you can direct me where to look so I can do troubleshooting. With the board connected to our corporate network, it takes about 48 hours when the whole board (OrangePi+ 2E) will crash with the CPU burning up. The second time it happened I had htop running to try and diagnose the problem. Investigation revealed that rngd became unstable due to the nm-applet. [ 0.455034] spi spi0: master is unqueued, this is deprecated ls -al /dev/spi* crw------- 1 root root 153, 0 Jul 13 06:54 /dev/spidev0.0 And when I attach a multisegment MAX7219 I get the same results, as if it's not really enabled and seeing the hardware.

  94. Hi all, apologies I know this isn't the correct forum to post, but, I have a question regarding the armbian build process for a raspi5b , but unfortunately I can't post in the correct forum because It requires the url of my build log which I don't know the location of - anyone here know where that is ? I use SHARE_LOG=yes as a parameter to compile.sh and my build machine is a x86_64 GNU/Linux with a 1gb ssd and 32gb of ram - please ignore the tag I couldn't find an appropriate one

  96. Hi All, On an Odroid N2+ board, I have tried to install ZFS following different suggestions I found on the web. None of them worked so far. I tried: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/19952-cant-install-kernel-headers-via-armbian-config/ https://forum.armbian.com/topic/18790-odroidhc4-with-5139-meson64-missing-zfs-modules/ https://forum.armbian.com/topic/17337-zfs-just-works-now-on-armbian-2-step-instructions-if-you-are-thick-like-me/ I installed both Armbian 22.05 Bullseye 5.10.110-meson64 first, and then Jammy 5.17. Could someone please help me? Thanks 🙂

  98. So I'm trying to connect with a UART cable from my PC to the board (OPI3LTS). Here's what I did so far: In desperation, I double checked every connection, to no avail. My devices are powered separately, so only the RX and TX cable are connected, and they are crossed as they should. Set up permissions: sudo chmod 666 /dev/ttyUSB0 Add user to dialout: sudo adduser <user> dialout Install minicom: Set up minicom with the correct address: /dev/ttyUSB0 Set up the correct baud rate (115200 in this case) Turn off flow control Tried connecting via "screen", minicom and putty, all of them just show me…

  99. Hello. I've installed the newest Armbian Bionic Ubuntu with the Desktop on my Cubietruck. In the past i had Debian Wheezy running on it with working remote desktop connection over Windows 10 (sesman-xvnc). Now with the new Ubuntu i cant connect anymore to my Cubietruck. If i open the Remote Desktop Tool on Windows 10 i get a connection to my Cubietruck and i can see the login Screen. But there is no more an option (sesman-xvnc). I can only see (xvnc). If i connect through this option i can login to my cubietruck. If login is successful i see only an empty desktop without elements and without a background-image. How can i solve this issue? I have installed…

  100. I'm trying to run NixOS on my NanoPC-T4, and it's having trouble detecting the NVMe drive connected to the M.2 port. I've tried running Armbian, specifically Armbian_21.02.1_Nanopct4_focal_current_5.10.12.img downloaded from here, and it appears to detect it just fine. On NixOS I'm running a stock 5.10.13 kernel, which is newer than the 5.10.12 that Armbian is using. I'm assuming that I'm missing some kind of specific patch that makes this work on Armbian. I examined the kernel I was running on Armbian: qwe@nanopct4:~$ ls -l /boot/ | grep rockchip total 63872 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 221399 Feb 3 19:55 config-5.10.12-rockchip64 l…
