  1. The info report also says: CPU Hardware : sun50iw6p1 which is Allwinner and I think more accurate.
  2. You need to actually provide some details on what you have done. What image are you trying to install? What were the edits to the extlinux.conf file you tried? Are you following the install instructions found on this site (https://forum.armbian.com/topic/33676-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus) You mention REGlinux, per the instructions have you reinstalled android firmware to restore the system to clean before trying to run Armbian?
  3. Moved to correct forum
  4. Upgrades are just standard debian/ubuntu upgrades. apt update apt upgrade for deb package updates.
  5. That doesn't tell us much. What version? (including linux kernel version). Or better yet.... Providing logs with armbianmonitor -u helps with troubleshooting and significantly raises chances that issue gets addressed.
  6. @Blucasd73 That information is in the installation instructions already
  7. Not uEnv.txt anymore as the current images use extlinux. Info is in the link I posted above.

  9. You are on a vendor kernel. That is not mainline linux, you need to be on current or edge to run mainline. Having said that, the general rule of thumb is that vendor is old (unpatched with all that implies security wise) but generally feature complete, while mainline is newer but waiting for features to be accepted in mainline (some of which might never get ported to mainline). Each user generally cares about different features, so try different kernels to find the kernel that works best for your use cases.
  10. moved post to correct sub-forum as this is a Rockchip CPU based box
  11. The first question I have for you is why are you trying an edge kernal? "edge" means for testing purposes and things may not work. I'd recommend you first try the current stable kernel.
  12. As was stated you need to read the docs and understand the Armbian build system. Basically it starts with the generic kernel source then applies a series of patches. The patches add/modify that generic code with changes that Armbian adds (changes that are not in mainline kernel source). Then the build applies these patches (plus any user supplied patches) to the source and then builds from that. So you can run a build and then look at the cached source after patching and see the source dts in your case. It isn't hard but does require some effort and digging.
  13. Read the TV box FAQ and amlogic install instructions. https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first https://forum.armbian.com/topic/33676-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus
  14. But if you haven't run armbian-install to actually install the new boot loader, it is only sitting there waiting to be installed. Armbian does not automatically install new versions of the boot loader when apt pulls the new package, that is a manual step Edit: I should have read all the posts as I see Werner already said this
  15. No. There is basically no open source resources going to the amlogic CPUs these days. Generally Amlogic doesn't support or help open source development, so most developers have moved on to other platforms (rockchip and allwinner) that are somewhat more supportive.
  16. Moved post to the correct forum section
  17. Or probably the easier way is to edit /etc/default/armbian-zram-config
  18. Please note that ophub is not Armbian. They use the Armbian name without permission, do not contribute to Armbian development nor participate in these forums. Having said that, android TV boxes are a community supported effort under Armbian. It would be appreciated if you took the time to submit a PR to include your efforts into Armbian.
  19. Please read the Armbian TV box FAQ and the installation instructions for amlogic TV boxes. https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16976-status-of-armbian-on-tv-boxes-please-read-first https://forum.armbian.com/topic/33676-installation-instructions-for-tv-boxes-with-amlogic-cpus
