  1. I do not wish to make this too political. But I do often get the question if we can trust all the images from board makers security wise. I personally try many images. I only use Hardkernel images on my Odroids. On my NVIDIA Jetson Nano I of course use the image from NVIDIA since it's got all the goodies. But on all other boards I use Armbian. Either official Armbian, or Balbes Armbian. I wanted to hear your thought about this.

Even though the reset at GPIO8_A3 is working correctly. I also had no success to find this property in another file... so I'm very confused about where or in which driver / include is this property defined/specified? 4. I just released a new C library for communicating with those inexpensive 4-digit 7-segment LED displays: https://github.com/bitbank2/tm1637 They can run on 3.3V or 5V and draw between 1 and 15mA depending on the brightness setting. I purchased mine from an AliExpress vendor for 68 cents each with free shipping. They use a custom 2-wire communications protocol and must be "bit-banged" from 2 GPIO pins. In my demo, I assign pins 38 and 40 on my Orange Pi Lite.

Today I did found the github-page with the source-code and compiled it on my Orange Pi R1 - using armbian For compiling the default SDL-version I had to install the 2 additional packages with apt - libsdl1.2-dev - libsdl1.2debian before SAM did compile on armbian. Hi We've made a patch for the current a64 megous 5.10 kernel which enables writing to the 2K SID/Efuse security area of the A64/R18 processor. Our initial investigations have found that the A64 doesn't seem to match the tables found in the SID Register Guide, however we've proceeded to perform various write tests and are presenting our results here for anyone that may found it useful in further development. There shouldn't be any issues using the same patch in the 5.14 kernel, as the driver code is still the same. The patch won't be pushed upstream, and is for dev purposes only, as the original intend of the driver is to be read-only. (This is EFUSE area …

I started with the RPI3 but that's getting expensive real quick and the board isn't that good performance wise. So I started looking for different, cheaper boards but it still wouldn't be cheap enough if you plan to run 30-40 of them. So I started looking at older Smartphones with OpenCL support and came to the Samsung Galaxy S4 (The Exynos version). It is an older phone but once was one of Samsungs flagships and still offers good performance for what I want. I know the Exynos 5410 was used on the Odroid XU, so in my opinio…

That way the Google server will be queried first, which I think is wrong, considering privacy implications. Why is it hardcoded anyway? As I understand it, it comes from /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/head? this should not include anything. Would be nice If somebody could clarify why it is implemented that way. Thanx

As reference I created a heavily simplified version of the board (4GB version) using the provided 2D drawing from Friendlyarm. First post here... apologies in advance for any questions that might sound dumb. My plan: buy Android TV boxes and install Armbian to run browsers and remote control using AnyDesk. I chose Android TV boxes - everything is complete and contained in a small box + very cheap. For £35 for example, I can get with power supply - with 2GB RAM - not sure about processor though. - Should I consider other options? Like Orange Pi? I've got a 3rd generation Raspberry Pi - that is so poor for speed, chokes on one or 2 browser tabs. (I haven't tried Armbian - I will be doing shortly.) - Need recommended hardware. Whether it's an…

Then, when restarting for the umpteenth time, in a rare moment of diminished stupidity, I actually read the "message of the (every) day" which is shown when you login successfully, It mentioned 'armbian-config' ... which i decided to give a try... Five minutes later I had working wifi - which works again after a restart without further configuration! So, a note to myself: be sure to RTFM (= Read the Fabulous Message of the day)! 59. Hi all. I've discovered Vivaldi Browser for arm. A fork of Chromium. There is a armhf version and a arm64 version. Youtube playback with this is a lot better. I've tested it on the NanoPi M4. Here you can download it. https://vivaldi.com/nl/blog/snapshots/vivaldi-1-15-rc-2/ Here the source where I found it. From Meveric @ Odroid. Also explanation of how to install. 74. <prompt> "Talk to me about it." <claude> Good question, because the honest answer has layers, and most of the "8K" in the ads lives in only one of them. What's real: the decoder. The RK3588's video engine (RKVDEC2) really does decode 8K: HEVC and VP9 at 8K@60, H.264 and AV1 at 8K@30, in silicon. That's not marketing. It's the same block Deep Ink talks to for our 4K HDR work, and 8K is just more macroblocks through the same pipe. So "8K video decoding" is a true statement about the chip. Where it thins out: the display. The VOP2 display controller's big port (VP0) tops out at 8K@30 or 4K@120, and here's the nugget: those are the same number. …

  93. Hi. Around a month ago, my Rock 3A arrived and I got to playing with it. I noticed that there was a community build configuration for it, so I set up an Armbian build environment and got to building it. The image built without error and before I knew it my device had booted. However, since then, a few changes have been made to the Rock 3A (including receiving a proper Armbian maintainer), and now it seems to be completely broken. This issue seems to be reproducible, with people both being able to boot the board with old images as well as not being able to boot with fresh images. There seems to be some work happening towards fixing u-boot (which seems to be …

Does need a special calibration (pmic is AXP223) or will a simple charge/discharge calibrate things ?
