Hi @ertugrul and @afaulkner420. I was trying to create a bootable drive for the orangepi 3 lts and it always fails in validation in balenaEtcher. I tried even with that and it does not seems to work. The non-desktop versions worked however. I didn't see any error messages during the flashing and everything else seemed to work well. Thanks, Ashish

Maybe this is a faq. After installing and upgrading armbian to 5.23 on A10-Lime, if I leave serial console attached and Ethernet Cable attached, booting process hangs at: Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel. while if I'm using serial console alone or Ethernet Cable alone, the booting process is fine. Why ?

Hello, using newest Legacy Image Armbian_5.04_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_3.4.110 there is still a wifi problem while booting. Correct? For more than one minute the boot process hangs showing following error message: "A Start Job is running for LSB: Raise network interfaces" After one minute the boot process continues. The wlan0 connection gets somehow established. But it is slowly und not really stable. root@cubietruck:~$ cat /etc/network/interfaces auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp wpa-ssid My-SSID wpa-psk My-Password auto lo iface lo inet loopback root@cubietruck:~$ lsmod Module Size Us…

Hello. After burning Efuse to the Nanopi Neo Core, I can't boot from emmc. It works from the SD card, so I try loading everything into emmc: spl, uboot. Hello! I asked this question here: https://github.com/zador-blood-stained/fel-mass-storage/issues/1, but I decided to ask again. Is there a way to boot the current mainline u-boot via FEL? Is it easy to support this issue? I would be happy to receive any help. Thanks, Aleksandr

Hello all, I recently got an orange pi pc plus, and am going to try to use it as a server. However, I do not want it to boot into the desktop GUI as this wastes precious computational resources. How do I force the Pi to boot into the terminal? I am using armbian in order to have the system boot off of the EMMC flash memory. Thanks.

For a new project with multiple socs, I want to use the NanoPi Neo 2 with the Allwinner H5 soc and boot from DHCP / NFS. I've done the same in the past for a setup with Raspberry Pi's, but the Allwinner socs require a different approach. What would be the best way to achive this? - FEL? - SD or USB with U-Boot? - any other suggestions?

I just recently acquired a few Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 boards. I need to get them working for a Bluetooth application. After a somewhat rough start with the WiFi they appear to be running smoothly now. The first problem I am noticing is that sata-nand-install does not exist on the distribution for the H5. Can anyone shed some light on what is necessary to get these boards to boot from eMMC? Is there anyone currently working on this problem? If not, what is the correct version of that script that I should download to begin trying to port it, and what utilities will I need to adapt to make it happen? Any advice on how to begin? On another front, doe…

I'm on the Olimex Teres running the newish Armbian Ubuntu 20.04 and I'm having a lot of trouble with the system intermittently freezing or slowing. Kernel 5.4.43 . I have a video of the issue and an image of the drive. The system isn't online to sync clock and dates may be skewed by some days. My usual routine is to boot the system into multi-user, run asciinema, run tmux, and then edit files with vim inside both. The issue starts after a bit. CPU and I/O usage stay low during the delays in responsiveness. Sorry if I am kinda irritated and frustrated in the video. I've been dealing with a lot of issues. I'm curious what systems the maintaine…

armbianmonitor output: http://ix.io/4qwA I assume it's crashing as I have no display connected to it. Every few days I just notice I can no longer reach the network folder, but it works after a power off/power on. Not much running on it, samba for file share and deluge for occasional downloads. I also recently run an update, upgrade and dist-upgrade, but it didn't help. I don't really know what should I look for in the log. Hi, I've been running the OMV7 latest with the armbian headless latest. I've set the power button for powering the system off in the OMV's gui. When the system is "on" I can power the system down by short press on the power button, the system powers off after aprox 10 seconds (so hopefully a clean shut down), the power led and network led get off, but the USB HDD (external 2.5in 320GB WD) still shows activity after power down - the activity led on it blinks (like 5 blinks per second) and I can hear a light clicking in aprox 1sec intervals. The disk does not spin, however (I cannot hear the spinning). I've been using a battery backup (3.7V lion) wired to the BPi M1 bo…

Hello guys, do you know what might cause this error, it seems my "smart home" controller is not booting up anymore. In the last 2 weeks it happent again to not display any webpage while accessing it by IP, also the SSH was not working, all leds ware blinking like usually are, like there was normal activity, but it didn't respond to any request, only the ping was working, anything else was not (apache, samba, ssh). I turned it off by long-pressing the power button, it booted up, showing this warning "warning bad CRC - using default enviroment" and it passed by, showing the armbian logo and a blinking cursor, but that's it, nothing more. I think it …

Hello armbianers ! Armbian 22.11.1 Bullseye with Linux 5.15.80-sunxi on a banana pi m1 I've connected a lipo battery to my bpi m1, and now when I try to shutdown -h 0, it ends up in a kernel panic and instead of shutting down it remains powered up. Is there anything I can do to fix that? I'd know how to shut it down talking to the axp209 via i2c, but I'm not sure how/where to put that, or if that would be or not the proper way to go. Thanks, George.

I am new to Armbian and I have been using Jessie on BPI M2 for a couple weeks now but I can't seem to get it to automatically boot into desktop mode when no monitor is connected. It always seems to go right into command line. I have a number of pieces of software that have a GUI and need to run under desktop mode right off the bat that I would like to have at startup. I have been doing a lot of searching and have been wondering if it is a frambuffer issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, since many month I did not used my BPi M2+ that previously worked with the 5.14 image since not working with the new one 5.25 (sha signature checked = good server image of Debian Jessie downloaded with identical signature). I prepared my SD with the 5.25 armbian image (on the previous 5.14 SD, bad idea) and boot it (with USB/TTL cable and saw in Putty) but it display a message telling me that it does not find ethernet (and even if I insert a RJ45 connected to my router and reboot it this give me the same message). Hi, my Banana Pi M2+ with Armbian Bionic doesn't see my access point on channel 13. I already set "REGDOMAIN=DE" in /etc/default/crda and also issued the command "iw reg set DE". Hi! I thought, I might save some energy by using a Sinovoip Banana Pi M2+EDU (it is like the M2+ but no WiFi and no display (EDIT: I mean 8 GB EMMC) and 512MiB DRAM) instead of an Atom N270. Here at armbian.com/download I only found "legacy" 3.4 images, which work nicely... I wonder, if it is a good idea to stick somelhing into public internet with a 3.4 kernel... So I tried to install lhe latest archlinuxarm kernel tar ball with a git clone of u-boot (using Sinovoip_BPI_M2_plus_defconfig) and it boots nicely, but: 1. There is no eth0 (so it is much safer from the public inet, than I like) and 2. there is no cpufreq (so it gets quite warm and i can't eve…

Is there anything that can be done about it? Something will start(e.g. minisatip, mumudvb) to disproportionately use the cpu and after a short time it will crash completely. A similar configuration works well on an OPI PC(Linux orangepipc 4.10.1-sun8i #1 SMP Sun Mar 5 18:47:02 CET 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux), but with newer versions it behaves just as incorrectly. I've tested other images (ubuntu, debian), but it's the same everywhere.

I was hoping I could find some information as to why linux-jessie-root-next-bananapipro was being held on my BPi Pro system. The kernel and u-boot packages have been upgraded. I've held back on updating linux-jessie-root-next-bananapipro because I'm concerned it would break something. Is there some log file I should look at or some documentation somewhere?

Hello, I recently purchased a Banana Pi M2, and downloaded the latest desktop image to my SanDisk 32gb MicroSD card. Everything boots-up. However, the only interface that seems to be able to get onto the internet properly is wlan0 (Wireless). Ethernet, regardless of DHCP (registers properly) or Static does not seem to route properly. For example, I am not able to ping or SSH the device from another PC, and the Pi (itself) cannot ping/access any local IPv4 address as well. Internet access fails, and points to DNS not working properly (even though servers are specified). Tried many different methods, including taking management/control away from "NetworkManager", but …

Hello, long time Banana Pi user here. I have a BPI-M2+ and recently decided to write Armbian_23.02.2_Bananapim2plus_bullseye_current_5.15.93_minimal.img to emmc. I am using cat6 over gigabit LAN and am seeing scp and rsync transfers to the device averaging 1.7mb/s. Transfering an 850mb file took unusually several minutes. It starts off at 40mb/s then quickly drops to under 2mb/s. Is this typical? I would think over LAN I would be seeing much faster speeds. Untarring this same 850mb archive also took unusually long. Could the emmc be damaged or on it's way out? How would I check? Please see armbianmonitor output. https://pastebin.com/RCa…

I am sorry but even after long searching I could not find out how to enable internal pull up resistors in an A20. I am on a BananaPro with Bionic, kernel 4.14.70. I want to use the pull ups on I2C-1. I know that internal pull resistors are usually too weak for I2C, but the I2C is only connected to an external level shifter since all connected I2C devices have 5V lines. So the internal resistors should be sufficient, and the expansion board is working reliably on an old Rapsberry model B with internal pull ups. So, how can I enable internal pullups? The I2C-1 overlay seems not to have an option for that. Can it be done via dev…

PC+ arrived today. Formated 8 GB SD card with FAT32, copied Armbian_5.14_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.raw onto it. Green LED turns on after power applied to the board, but within seconds the red LED turns on. No output at all on HDMI. I had previously gotten a OPi PC (not plus) to work and was using it for a month so I am surprised that the PC+ is having these problems. Any suggestions? Different Linux distro? In desperation, I plugged the SD card used for the OPi PC (not plus) and it boots for several seconds, with HDMI printout stopping at "Starting LSB: tune IDE hard disks" with the red and green LEDs on. Thanks in advance....

**1. Summary:** The text console (`tty1`) is permanently stuck at 30 rows by 90 columns after boot, despite the DRM/KMS framebuffer being correctly set to 1920x1080 resolution. Hi, I always been an retrorangepi user for my Opi1. but the lastest retrorangepi is stuck at 4.1 (I try the 4.2 slim but it's too slim) and the 4.3 beta also if its named as full, lacks of kodi and many emulators. so, my thought is. What if I build my personal emulationstation + lastest kodi on top of lastest armbian? Can I install armbian and then emustation and kodi? Do I have to install all emulator one by one? or I could use retroarch? Can I setup armbian to boot emustation? I think could be a good thing also for study

Hello everyone, Around July 2018 I was able to successfully build an Armbian image for NanoPi Duo using provided documentation: https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/ The reason I decided to build the image was that I needed it with legacy kernel 3.4.113. For some reason there were significant problems with using the mainline kernel with direwolf application which is an amateur radio APRS modem. The device hanged with mainline kernel after few hours of operation without any reason and this was not an overheat problem (temperatures below 50 degrees and a huge heatsink). I believe that it is some problem with audio driver for H2 wh…

Hello, Thank you for your work and the images you provide. I am making some test with A20-OLinuXino-Lime and A20-OLinuXino-Lime2 with the purpose to make debian bootable from a NAND. I have three questions: 1. what is the procedure to customize and compile a new kernel (which source repos do you use, on which defconfig is based your work) ? This is to remove/add some features according to my needs 2. when you say "NAND is not supported yet." on the download page, do you mean Debian won't boot at all if installed on NAND ? Is it only because of kernel configuration or anything else ? And when do you think NAND support should be available ? 3. what is …

An interesting fact (at least from what I can tell), the NanoPi Duo (v1.0 and v 1.1) has no builtin PUDs. Checking http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/images/8/8a/Schematic_NanoPi_Duo-v1.1.pdf and I see no PUDs on the GPIO schematic. Is this true? Is the Orange Pi Zero the same way?

Thanks for providing the new Buster image (5.4.7) for Orange Pi One Plus. All the essential stuff works well, giving me new software possibilities. As a technical feedback, I'd just like to mention 1) the red light keeps shining (instead of turning green, but Armbian runs very well, anyway) 2) an attached monitor doesn't receive any signals (but I prefer SSH anyway) 3) the console keyboard layout wouldn't accept any changes (but using SSH, that doesn't make any difference now). Everything else in armbian-config worked fine. Great tool!

Hello, for my BananaPi I recently downloaded "Armbian_21.05.1_Bananapi_buster_current_5.10.34.img" and did not get the on-board CAN controller working with this image. Hi, for all my automation projects I use BananaPi and BananaPro. As far as I know the difference is the script.bin file. Is this right? I will not maintain two Images. Right now I use the Image for the BananaPro 5.14. I changed the sym-link to BananaPi.bin. But the hardware-info after login shows "BananaPi Pro". Is there anything more I have to do? Thanks. Steffen
