  4. Hello, guys! I'm trying to make use of gpio-poweroff procedure. I'm trying to understand the consequences of the approach I've used. Here's what I did 1) Added power_ctrl: power_ctrl { compatible = "gpio-poweroff"; gpios = <&pio 6 11 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH>; force; }; to arch/arm64/boot/dts/allwinner/sun50i-h5-nanopi-neo-plus2.dts 2) Recompiled the device tree blob and put it where it belongs The gpio-poweroff's code got probed but failed due to `pm_poweroff_handler` being set to something. So I figured it out that it's set to `psci_sys_poweroff` in [drivers/firmware/psci.c](https://github…

Hi, I have been working on this problem for a few days. I have a orangepi plus2e and orange pi 5'' lcd. When I make all the connections and give power to the orangepi, I can not see anything on the LCD. At first only a white light comes out. Later on, I looked at the 5 inch screen produced by OrangePi with 640x480 resolution and the LCD settings on the H3 boards. I tried to set the resolution with the h3disp command, but I did not see the proper resolution. I did these on a different computer screen, and when I changed the resolution, nothing appeared on this screen.

Hi, I'm trying to create a DT overlay for my Cubietruck running 4.19.62 and I've placed it in /boot/overlay-user and changed the user_overlays entry in boot.scr to load it. It is being loaded but I'm getting FDT_ERR_NOTFOUND when trying to apply it. The overlay is meant to change the label and default-trigger entries for the four LEDs in the leds node. I'm using dtc 4.1.4 and it does compile this overlay. Can anybody tell me how I can change this overlay so it will work ? Or perhaps tell me if this is not possible. /dts-v1/; /plugin/; / { compatible = "allwinner,sun7i-a20"; fragment@0 { target = <&leds>; …

However, from armbian-config, I'm only able to go from stable to nightly build (5.68, but still dev branch). Moreover, I can't select next kernel from Other menu. Is there a way to switch branches (barring re-flashing from latest image)?

  28. When using armbian-config to select an overlay ("DTO001")e.g. for uart2, one is offered the full names w/ overlay prefix, e.g. sun7i-a20-uart2. The system adds this to armbianEnv.txt: overlays=sun7i-a20-uart2 But it has also the line overlay_prefix=sun7i-a20 In the end, uart2 is not activated (no output from /dev/ttyS1) - after changing the overlay line to overlays=uart2, I can read from /dev/ttyS1. System is Armbian 25.2.2 stable (bookeworm), Armbian Linux 6.12.20-current-sunxi.

(picture courtesy @renaudrenaud) We spotted a new OPi Zero variant with one USB-A receptacle missing and replaced by a second RJ45 jack a while ago (in this report where a lot of 'information' seems a bit questionable to me) Today @Icenowy confirmed existence of this board since Xunlong announced it in a chat group. I believe this is somewhat related to recently available Orange Pi Zero Plus since by looking at the picture we can see behind both Ethernet MagJacks small packages. My bet is we're talking here about RTL8211E (Gigabit Ethernet PHY connected via RGMII to the SoC) and RTL8153 (Gigabit Ethernet MAC/PHY USB2 Hi-Speed attached to the SoC). …

  46. Hi everyone, I have an armbian 5.38 headless system on an orange pi zero2plus board. Attached to this board there's the expansion usb board with a wifi dongle and another board connected to twi interface of the gpio header. I power supply the board from the same header with a 5V 5A power supply, I verified and I have no holes on 5V and 3.3V voltage. The external usb dongle is configured as AP with nmcli, the internal wifi board is configured as w-station and is hooked to my home network. What would be the next steps to verify that this is correct and to generate the PWM wave? Is there a specific command to do this? Thanks for your help, and best regards!

    1) If a debugging cable(USB to TTL converter for serial communication in gtkterminal) is already connected in nano-pi neo board..If we power up the nano-pi it is not booting 2) If a debugging cable(USB to TTL converter for serial communication in gtkterminal) and power cable is connected simultaneously.. It is not booting... Why in this two condition the nano-pi is not booting?

  91. I haven't solved the problem of spdif-out on mainline kernel. But, on legacy kernel 3.4.112, spdif-out works. but, has a limitation upt 48khz? doesn't work of 88khz, 96khz, 176khz on my Nanopi Neo Air 1.0. Is it correct to have a limitation. Thanks in advance.

  92. OPiPC2, with Armbian Bionic desktop mainline based kernel 4.19.y Using it as headless server, all X and desktop stuff removed. Using PuTTY to log in via SSH, line drawing stuff (as usual) only works if translation is set to ISO-8859-1 in PuTTY. mc looks great, but all ncurses-based software (aptitude, htop, bmon etc) does not. Main problem seems that horizontal spacing is "shrunk" whenever there is no text to keep it: This is even more dramatic for menu systems and anything that is column-oriented. Tried dpkg-reconfigure locales to switch system to ISO-8859, but no change, really seems to be an ncurses bug. No such problem…

Had a bit of a success with HDMI audio and also video acceleration on OrangePi 3. What was needed was to apply some patches from LibreELEC, namely ones from projects/Allwinner/patches/linux/ . For HDMI audio to work you need 0004-sun4i-i2s-improvements.patch , which contains support for I2S on H6. When done right you should see in dmesg: asoc-simple-card sound: i2s-hifi <-> 5091000.i2s mapping ok Also what helped was an IRC chat that Jernej had with mirko some time ago: https://irclog.whitequark.org/linux-sunxi/2018-03-14 For video acceleration you need 0005-cedrus-improvements.patch and compile Cedrus driver. When done right you shou…

  94. Hi, usb and emmc is not working for the A64-OLinuXino-2Ge8G-IND board while using the armbian build in dev. Armbian_20.05.0-trunk_Lime-a64_buster_dev_5.5.15 No change to the config of kernel, choosing lime-a64 and no desktop when asked to by compile.sh When compiling, the only choice for lime-a64 has the description: A64 quad core 1GB RAM SoC GBE eMMC Wi-Fi/BT. That doesn't correspond to the A64-OLinuXino-2Ge8G-IND. The image provided by olimex is working, ftp://staging.olimex.com/Allwinner_Images/a64-olinuxino/linux/1.latest_images/buster/images/ but when compiling their build i have the same issue and i…

  95. Hello community.. I strugling with hardware acceleration on Orange PI +2E. I read all forums and used google..but all what I found are old threads. I would like to know where can I find some tutorials how to install drivers for HW encoding in h264. Compilation of ffmpeg is not a problem, I did it and tried to encode 720x576 mpeg2 live stream to h264 @ 1000kbps with fdk-aac, and it works but..all cores are around 70%, and it sometimes starting the buffering when I watching on for example on POT player or Vlc. I would like to achive two thing: 1) to be able to use hw acceleration to encode h264 from mpeg2 stream. 2) to be able to use hw de…

  99. Started by Nick,

This maybe something that just isn't available yet, but if I can help with the development I am happy to. I have created the following patches as a starting point but they don't yet work. Looking at the source code for the spidev module and comparing it to the H3 datasheet, it would appear that the H3 uses the sun6i spi register addresses. Though the datasheet lists the RX and TX buffers as 64 bytes whereas the sun6i spidev driver implements 128byte buffers. I'm assuming that this wont be a problem at least for testing as long as I don't try and transfer or receive more than 64 bytes. As you can see from the dtsi patch, I have updated the module memory locatio…

Hello; My OrangePi PC HDMI port is dead, it throws no input signal, and I've read that this board has no ESD protection for HDMI, so I assume it died because of it. What I want to get is video working through analog TV out, but I can't seem to find the solution for this. I guess it should be simple task, but I never did it before. Hopefuly somebody can give me the solution. Thanks!
