  3. http://www.fsfla.org/ikiwiki/selibre/linux-libre/ I expect this is the software. Free software is software you may use, share, modify and redistribute. To my knowledge orange pi one has an armv7 cpu. And the gpu is the same as on a pinephone. On this forum I was told command apt purge iozone3 armbian-firmware might turn armbian into a free software system. There is an armv7 libre linux kernel, which to some extend supports mali gpus. I want to test the libre linux kernel on an orange pi one computer, to get to know how well a Mali 400 MP2 runs on free software. Maybe it can give a streak of how well the pinephone's …

  4. Hello; It was tried with armbian buster, stretch and bionic. Orange pi zero connect wpa/wpa2 networks without problems, but connect to open network. 5. I apologize for asking such a basic question. I have recompiled the wifi module on an Orange Pi PC+ to operate in concurrent mode so it can act in both station and AP mode at the same time, allowing it to be a wifi repeater. The problem is, this feature is lost on every kernel upgrade, requiring me to recompile the module each time I upgrade the kernel. The kernel module driver often changes slightly between kernel versions, and I have to track down and fix new bugs in the source code that prevent it from compiling when concurrent mode is enabled. I'm happy with how the wifi module performs now, but don't want to lose the ability to get needed kernel updat…

I have an Orange Pi One Plus with the H6 chip in it and I'm quite happy with how well it's supported by Armbian. I haven't really had any problems with it. I do have one question, though. I'm using armbianmonitor to "-m" monitor the machine and I notice that the temps are always pretty hot. Even at idle (480MHz) it still shows 72C. That seems higher than I would have expected. Is this normal, expected behavior? I understand that the SoC thermal monitoring code in the kernel is pretty new and therefore might not be perfect, yet. So, I thought I'd ask. Because it may just be my board that's off. Does anyone know if this is normal? Info: …

I'm using flir's usb 3.1 camera with OrangiPi 3. default value for usbfs_memory (/sys/module/usbcore/parameters/usbfs_memory_mb) is 16. I should change it to a 1000 to be able to use full size image acquiring. testing this number, the higher I set it the higher image size I can get until 256mb. above 256, max image size is aprox 3200x2736 pixels (I need 5472x3648). so I guess somewhere in usbcore / kernel there is additional limit. Hey Guys, i own a Lemaker Banana Pro device. The hardware itself is very fine, no issues with it, but the software support is pretty low. When i check internet, i see at least two images for it: Armbian Bionic - mainline based kernel 4.19.y Armbian Stretch- mainline based kernel 4.19.y I recognize that Armbian Stretch is based on Debian 9, which is the old Debian Version at all, so i am not willing to install it. But i wonder how it is with Bionic? Is Armbian Bionic based on Ubuntu Bionic Beaver? Is it that what i means? How long will the support run for this Bionic image? For me it doesnt matter if i install debian or ubuntu …

Hi, seems after some system updates SNMP stop reporting data about storage (size/used). It happen on 2x Orange PI One and on one Orange PI PC2. Actually in monitor what I use for SNMP monitoring I see last valid data was there at 05/09. I think at this time I update all boards and as I remmember there was also some update for snmpd. Can anyone confirm this problem ? And when we talk about SNMP, what is best way to change default logging level for SNMP ? Seems changing in /etc/default/snmpd doesnt have effect and after last update I must again edit files in /lib/systemd to stop that annoying flood in log from SNMP. OPI PC2 - 4.…

  13. I wanna start out and say I have been using Armbian for a year and it's been great. Thank you. I have built many images over the year and have only noticed the issue recently. I have noticed in the bionic builds for OpiZ+ that some base level packages are missing. The one I noticed was netplan. This is the new standard for bionic. I have not compiled a complete list of missing packages at this time. I had built this image before around 5.0-5.1 kernel release without issue. Netplan was included. Current build at 5.3 RC does not include this package. I suspect that others may be removed. Are these packages missing intentionall…

  15. I am using Olimex Lime 2 Emmc Rev.k for a project. One of the Boards shuts down randomly. Its not a freeze or a sudden power down of the board. The board undergoes a complete shut down procedure. I checked the log entries in /var/log/syslog log file. There is a entry of board going to shut down but I couldn't find the reason for shut down. Is there a way to find out if the board got shut down because of the Power-button press, shutdown command from a SSH client, shutdown because of temperature or shutdown because of under voltage ? Is there a log file i can check to find the reason for shutdown?

Good day, We use NanoPi Neo Core in voice information systems. We found a problem with the implementation of Dynamic Audio Power Management for Portable Devices in H3. Our program plays voice files using the standard call of the operating system - "aplay". Before starting the reproduction of each file the voltage is discharged and restored at the output of the DAC. This leads to a loud click on the output of the audio system. Setting pmdown_time = -1 does not save the situation. Can you help in solving this problem? P.S. This problem appeared in version 4 of the kernel.

How can I make the pins of this damned board work like the ones from a Raspberry Pi ? How does one define a pin ? What does defining a pin means ? Because the pins look dead to me. How do I make them start ? How do I make them to output something... anything ? I am a total and complete noob and I have no idea of the kernel voodoo that has to be done. Do you think they have archived that by manipulating the hardware or by lowering the frequency and stuff via software?

  58. Hello everyone, I am encountering problem with pulseaudio on Bananapi M1. I don't want the board to suspend speakers on idle. As Pulseaudio is used I simply commented this line: ``` ### Automatically suspend sinks/sources that become idle for too long #load-module module-suspend-on-idle `` in `/etc/pulse/default.pa`. The problem is that if I play something e.g. raspotify I dont hear the sound anymore. As soon I keep raspotify playing and restart Pulseaudio (killall pulseaudio) the sound is back again. If I pause music I lose sound again and need to kill pulseaudio. Does anybody encounter same thing?
