But on the login screen, the username and password fields are pixelated, change color unstable when moving the mouse or trying to enter the password. This error only occurs on the login screen, once the desktop starts everything is normal. Thanks for your help.

  6. Hi, I got my OPiZ3 2GB model last week, but it seems to detect as 4GB sometimes. At first, I thought I got lucky and the seller shipped the 4GB model, but I realized it crashes under load when it do. and I have to restart multiple times to get it right. The issue shows up in htop and free, where it reports double the memory and swap. I’m using the Minimal/IOT image with Armbian Linux v6.6. Here's the output from armbianmonitor -u: https://paste.next.armbian.com/iguzunaved The MemTotal value switches between 4GB and 2GB. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

  7. Can anyone suggest a command line command that would return the status of the connected HDMI monitor? Whether it is on standby or not or something that might help to determine if the display is active or not. I'm currently using Armbian Xenial on a H3 Orange Pi Zero Plus 2. Thanks

I'm running an OrangePi One. Having installed Armbian a while ago and gone through all the updates, I was wondering if there is any way to determine what equivalent release my installations are at. I noticed that 5.20 is out and some folks are talking about 5.21. I'm running Jessie. Also, for me to use a more recent version of Debian, I'm guessing I would have to build the image myself? Is that due to shortcomings in the 4.x kernels on the H3 platform? I've done some digging and it seems like many (most) things are working right on the 4.x kernels? Thank you James

  10. Hello, I know one should't ask or complain here regarding the dev kernel branch, but maybe somebody of you stumbled upon this and knows where to point me: I successfully build and used the "dev" kernel several times for the BananaPi (Allwinner A20 Soc) and it works just fine. The patch regarding the axp209 sysfs interface can simply be taken over from the from the "next" kernel branch and you get a working temperture reading from the axp209 pmu. I still haven't managed to get the internal soc's temperature sensor working in dev kernel, though. Hi! I just bought a NanoPi M1 board and It is running with Armbian without problem. Now I want to add a DHT22 temp & hum sensor but searching in the web I cant find any script to get it work. I saw that the RPi script doesn't work on the NanoPi M1 because the chip is differnt. In the Friendlyarm page there is a C script to work with the DHT11, but nothing with the DHT22. So, anyone have been experimenting whit it in this context? There are a Wiring Pi equivalent to NanoPi M1? Thanks

  33. This seems like a really simple problem, but I can't find any pointers on any forums. I am running a NanoPiNEO2 (Allwinner H5) using the latest Armbian build DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=16.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=xenial DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS" I am trying all ways to save power. For most of the time, I do not need to use the Ethernet interface (I am using the USB interfaces for comms). I have tried all the obvious commands such as ifdown, and explored ethtool, but nothing I do makes any difference to the current consumption of the device. I expect i am missing something obvious - any help gratefully accepted.

The reason: Many hats/shields designed for RaspberryPi would otherwise be compatible with OrangePi if Armbian/u-boot didn't direct the debug output to UART0. UART0 is the most commonly used serial connection for hats/shields designed for RaspberryPi. OrangePi has multiple UART gpio so it would make sense for the O.S. Font on the console - Terminus framebufer 6x12. And I am looking for a smaller. Help me please. I want to make the setting expand in the system - 320x240. Font still less. And it passes the wrong color, and I want to make the right color.

Hello everybody, I have recently bought an Orange Pi Lite. First, I have downloaded an image with Ubuntu Mate, but it finally decided to take the Armbian one which seems more precise and well prepared. First of all, great thanks for the work already done. I have encountered 2 problems during my installation: Everything was preestablished for US, and it is sometimes boring or difficult to use it. I have some problems with the display. Note that I have taken the Xenial image, and I expect it is the Linux 4 version on which we cannot run Xorg. I start with the easier one: Internationalisation (and I have not written internationalization to remind US peop…

  56. Hi! Yesterday I upgraded my NanoPi Neo Plus2, during that the kernel version went from 6.12.74 (package version 26.2.0-trunk.478) to 6.18.19 (package version 26.2.0-trunk.626). This morning I noticed, that this kernel is missing the dm-snapshot.ko module. I searched the forum if anyone else is having this problem, but it appears I am the only one using this feature. I use snapshots to create consistent backups of the system. Is there a reason why it was removed and more importantly is there a way to get it back without having to compile the kernel myself? 57. Dear mainline developers, I'm writing a (mainline) SPI driver for de ads131 from TI which I would like to make use of DMA, on the orangePIzero H2, zero+ H3/H5 and nanopi NEO2+. On the 4.13.3-sunxi kernel (armbian 5.33), this works fine, the driver is automatically loaded when the associated devicetree overlay is loaded, and the DMA can be allocated. However, when I compile the same driver for newer kernels (4.14.17-sunxi, 4.14.39-sunxi, 4.14.67-sunxi armbian 5.59), the dma allocation no longer appears to work, while the SPI part of the devicetree is identical except for the phandle (checked with dtc -I fs /sys/firmware/devicetree/base on newest 4.14.67-sunxi kerne…

Hi, I have bought Orange Pi Zero and installed Armbian Ubuntu version. Device (and OS!) works fantastic. However, I have a problem, because DNS resolving does not work until I manually edit /etc/resolv.conf file and enter: nameserver <ip_of_my_router> The problem is, I am using my Zero device in different networks, so I need to reconfigure it every time I connect it to other network. Is there any solution for this? In fact, it is quite weird, I have tried several things (when DNS resolving was not working), for instance: dig @8.8.8.8 www.slo-tech.com any and got only: ; <<>> DiG 9.10.3-P4-Ubuntu <<>> @8.8.8.8 www.sl…

  63. Hi!!! I am planning to buy Orange Pi PC but I saw that it has thermal issues because of overclocking/overvolting. My question is, Is armbian able to fix this problem??? ------Sorry...I am new to Single Board Computers----- Another thing, If Armbian isn't helpful about it, Does Orange Pi PC2 differ from it's predecessor??(I mean in thermal issues)... Thanks To You!!

  64. I'm sorry for the lame question, I just don't wanna regret anything before buying this fan, so I'm talking about this fan (3cm x 3cm) Spoiler I want to mount this fan right below the board by just screwing it in. Do the holes fit perfectly with the holes of the opiz board ? I've asked this before on facebook but someone suggested me to just glue the fan directly onto the board but I'm afraid it'll damage the board instead.

  66. Hello, I've just switched from bananian to armbian (as many others here as I've seen), and successfully finished migrating everything. I use the Banana as a little home server, NAS, sane/cups printer sharer and home cloud. I want to use docker on it, but I'm finding some difficulties to make it run. I'm currently on 4.9.12-sunxi. I've tried installing docker from the ubuntu repo but it doesn't seem to work. I've seen some topics about building a custom kernel for this, is this necessary? Did someone managed to make docker run? Thanks.

  75. Hello, I'm a bit confused about the documentation, to be precise the hardware notes > Allwinner Generic > reconfigure video output part. It lists various options regarding video output. Then it states Now I see, inside boot, a "armbianEnv.txt" and the mentioned "boot.cmd". However, the default boot.cmd doesn't contain a saveenv line. Also, the head of the boot.cmd clearly states Can someone lighten me up on the relationship between the files armbianEnv.txt and boot.cmd, and why I should/shouldn't edit boot.cmd? I'm running the mainline kernel on a Banani Pi Pro, if this is relevant. Thanks in advance

    Started by Guest,

Hi Friends, on Banian I was using "xset dmps force off" and "xset dpms force on" to switch display off and on as I need it. Tryed to use this commands in terminal with armbian but nothing happens. I'm using LeMakers 5" LCD RGB Display with PCAP Touch. Armbian is 5.24 jessi with desktop and 4.8.12 Kernel. Has anyone an Idea, how to turn off and on display form terminal? Yours, Martin

  99. Just for information, I have tested ADS7846 touchscreen on new 4.19.y Bionic Orangepi one. What I did to get it work: 1. Upgrade dtc to version 1.4.7. By default it was dtc version 1.4.5 and I have get errors while trying to do " armbian-add-overlay sun8i-h3-spi-ads7846.dts" 2. There is missing driver in kernel by default, so I have installed ubuntu bionic 18.04.1 LTS on PC. After that use this guide https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/ Switch on ADS7846 module, then install new compiled package linux-image-next-sunxi_5.74_armhf.deb on OrangePi-one.

  100. Hello, I have a new LCD which I believe is an ili4988 (although the vendor says ili9486 and st7796) https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803856059047.html I have read somewhere, that I can use an ili9341 spi driver, only by changing the resolution and changing the initialization script. I looked in the waveshare website and github, they don't have anything for the ili9488 Then, I found some arduino code in http://www.lcdwiki.com/3.5inch_SPI_Module_ILI9488_SKU%3AMSP3520 (look for the "3.5 inch SPI Module Package(ILI9488)" link, then find the LCDWIKI_SPI.cpp The initialization sequence is in line 1697: Spoiler…
