  9. Hi everyones, Last week, I tried to read the value from DS18b20 temperature sensor to log it in the monitor system I already have. But I could not get its value. I connect the DS18b20 with 4.7k pull up resistor to the pin 16th on the board, which is I guess is IO-4 [PH20] pin. What I have tried? - I have tried this: http://www.linuxx.eu/2014/09/banana-pi-temperature-sensor-ds18b20.html Step I did: Convert the /boot/script.bin to bananapi.fex, then add [w1_para] gpio = 4 to the end of file, save and convert it back to /boot/script.bin. Reboot. Problem: No w1 dir found in the /sys/bus (expecting it will show w1 dir b…

  15. Good afternoon. I don't know how to solve a small problem. There is Orange Pi Lite. It runs its own program. The program uses spi-dev and display. You need to compile drivers for the network card. And then a problem arose. I cannot install linux-headers-current-sunxi on a working distribution (the latest one available on the website Armbian_23.02.2 5.15.93 ). And if you set “Community maintained”, then it is impossible to enable spi-dev and the display (Arbian-Config is missing in the repository) How to solve this problem?

I recently created some new images using the most recent armbian scripts. For some reason my Jessie image is not coming up (see my other thread regarding network not coming up), but I did managed to get a wheezy image up and running on my BananaPi using latest / next. The problem I am having is the partition size is extremely small (about 500-600MB) and does not appear to be resize to fully utilize the SD card. It's been a long while since I created an image, but I vaguely remember the image resizing to maximize the SD card space. I basically had to manually resize the image by deleting and recreating the partition. Is there some way to specify the image size …

  28. After running the armbian-install program and selecting option "1 'Boot from SD - system on SATA, USB or NVMe'" the program transfers the contents of the SD card to the drive (SATA or NVMe). And it works. The problem occurs after booting - a message appears about the device being unable to mount /media/mmcboot . And indeed - the contents of /media/mmcboot and /boot are empty. The problem turns out to be the contents of the /etc/fstab file generated on the SATA/NVMe drive. The mount point /media/mmcboot has a only UUID value, but the text "UUID=" is missing before the value. After manually adding it, everything starts fine. If someone could lean in and correct th…

  41. I've read many posts here and understand the OPi0 wireless chip isn't very well liked. I'm trying to setup hostapd with both client and AP functionality. I can get AP working only if I dedicate wlan0 to it. It seems that virtual devices (eg iw dev wlan0 interface add uap0 type managed; ip link set uap0 up) don't work with the current jessie image, making it impossible to have both AP and client simultaneously. I'm happy to help with testing the driver, but I'm no expert and certainly not knowledgeable enough to code this sort of stuff. If there's any help to be had, I'd be grateful.

  47. OPiPC2, with Armbian Bionic desktop mainline based kernel 4.19.y Using it as headless server, all X and desktop stuff removed. Using PuTTY to log in via SSH, line drawing stuff (as usual) only works if translation is set to ISO-8859-1 in PuTTY. mc looks great, but all ncurses-based software (aptitude, htop, bmon etc) does not. Main problem seems that horizontal spacing is "shrunk" whenever there is no text to keep it: This is even more dramatic for menu systems and anything that is column-oriented. Tried dpkg-reconfigure locales to switch system to ISO-8859, but no change, really seems to be an ncurses bug. No such problem…

  50. I used the wrong power adapter this morning on one of my OPI PC... what could go wrong? So far, I noticed that the poor U5 - SY8008B regulator overheated and blew. From the schematics, this seems to be connected to "AVCC" (the H3's PLL and the TV out). U11 isn't outputting anything, but chip select is off. Since this is the USB host, I'm not too surprised. Is it worth trying to reflow a new regulator on ? Wondering...

I'm testing the Debian Installer Buster (alpha release) after seeing that there is (partial) support for the 5 there is (partial) support for the•Orange PI zero (H2+) and other boards. It seems that the u-boot packages in Debian miss the u-boot build for the Orange Pi zero and support for the Ethernet controller as it seems it is not the mainline kernel yet and seems to be needing some work in order to be available in kernel 4.15. Armbian already includes the u-boot build and has support for the Ethernet controller of the Orange…

I am raising it here because it worked previously on 21.08. I have tracked it down to be related to a driver change. Release version 22.02 uses the r8188eu and in fact this is one of the drivers the Hotspot configuration actually warns you about. Could this commit be related? 97. Hi, I am having a strange problem with my Orangepi One, I previously had a python script which was run on login using .bashrc. The python script controlled VLC using the python bindings and hence I could not use crontab -e or rc.local as they are run in the backgound. Previously .bashrc worked without any issues however either I updated VLC or armbian and now it does not run after I login (even using an autologin). Strangely enough however if I login via SSH the script runs. To access it I use : sudo nano /home/user/.bashrc To run the script I append to the end of the file without making any adjustments: echo Runnin…

  100. I have an orangepizero (https://www.armbian.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/orangepizero.png) I installed Armbian_5.90_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.19.57.7z on 32GB sd. The pi0 is powered via pin with a 5V/5A power supply, norflash mx25l1606e. The HDD is a new working 80gb maxtor powered by an external USB 2.0 box. I have also connected the serial and read the boot information. I used armbian-config and transferred armbian to HDD and it works, but I have to keep the miniSD plugged in. I ask you can boot from HDD and not use any SD? PS I read almost all posts here on the forum and tried the old procedures but it does not work. Spoiler =&g…
