Hello community! I use in my project "Orange Pi Zero Plus (Alwinner H5 - 512mb)". When using the image downloaded from the official site (https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-zero-plus/ - Armbian Stretch mainline kernel 4.14.y), I get a set of errors when I boot and when I use the working OS, which I'm straining. The same mistakes I get if I build the kernel and the OS myself through "build" (linux-sunxi64-next). My equipment: Memory: SanDisk Ultra microSDHC Class 10 UHS-I 48MB/s 16GB Power supply: Raspberry Pi 3b+ Power Adapter (STONTRONICS) - 5.1V @ 2.5A Boot: full log - https://pastebin.com/M9g6ipUp Loading Environmen…

As far as I can find not having the driver is the entire problem, however I can't find where I can get it. 10. Hello I'm quite new with armbian and Banana Pi, but have some experience with Raspberry PI. I started with Banana PI M2 Zero and armbian because of current unavailibility of Raspberry PI which is needed for some of my DIY pinball projects https://lisy.dev/ With a 5.15.48 Kernel Image I noted that the internal ethernet of M2 Zero is set to disabled, where with a 5.10.60 Kernel from the archive it works. After some investigation I used the "sun8i-h2-plus-bananapi-m2-zero.dtb" overlay from the 5.10 Kernel with a 5.15.43 Kernel and was happy that eth0 was working again. However as I think it is not advisable to mixing Kernel version…

  20. Hello everyone. My OP-PC is dead, with NO HDMI signal, NO console output, NO network output (LEDs off), only 1 LED is on which indicates SD card inserted (if SD card removes, it off). when use newly created SD card with Armbian, SDcard OS partition not resized. when connect to power supply, I can hear current noise. before it dies, it runs armbian server image with mainline kernel (4.14), it doesn't look like thermal fail, due to it runs very well during summer. I guess it is shorted some place, but I can't find where! so which hardware test point could I use to detects hardware failurtes.

  36. Hi, I just got a NanoPi Neo Plus2 for which I must prepare an image for our software. Basically I must have a working Ethernet-over-USB, Wifi and NIC. I started with your current Debian image compiled with uses Armbian v8.75 and Linux kernel v4.19.20. In this image Wifi works, but loading the g_ether module does not seem to work. I assume I need to patch the kernel to make this happen, which means I need to build my own images. So I created a Virtualbox environment as described in the documentation, and compiled an image with all the defaults (apart from a date-tag I add to the kernel name for identification). I installed the image to the eMMC and b…

Studying the chip's datasheet, I saw that there is this eFuse feature, which would be mightily handy for my to-come project using H3 or H2+ hardware (OPi Zero to be specific) as a basis in combination with Armbian (which I find fantastic btw). Is there any driver available for this feature? I couldn't find any info on the net so far. Thx a lot for your time and efforts. BR, andormaybe

Hi, I tried 3.4.107 wheezy on my Micro with HDMI screen. It show some image and message at boot, and then there's no signal to display. I also tried to change display resolution in "boot.scr" file, and tried "a10disp changehdmimodeforce 4" command, and ssh terminal show: sunxi disp kernel module version is 1.0 Cannot change HDMI mode because HDMI is not enabled.

  50. My Cubieboard 2 absolutely refuses to boot from microSD. It will boot into Android from flash when there is no microSD card inserted, but with a card in, it just produces a single red LED and no video output. Eventually it will respond by flashing green and powering down when the power button is depressed, so I feel like it's getting somewhere, but those are the only signs of life. I don't know how to look at serial output from this machine. I've tried two different power supplies, and two different monitors because one had I think been dodgy with this machine before. Same problem on all permutations. I also tested the SD card with F3 and wrote it with Etcher, and I've us…

  52. Hello, I am using OPi Zero with Armbian. From computer (Win or Ubuntu) or from other device with Android I am sending data to OPiZero device via LAN (many MBs/s). Now I would like to use for the same data communication via Opi's USB-OTG (because LAN has high latency). I read about g_serial and g_ether. First question - I think g_ether mode is the best for my case (because of speed). Am I right? I tried to find some basic tutorial, how to prepare Opi OTG for this. Is there any tutorial for this please? I would like to connect Opi with OTG to any Android device and my app on Android device (or Windows, or Linux) should be able to send data via OTG …

If no, how would one make it? Could someone help drawing the big picture so I know where to start? 56. I need/want USB ethernet via OTG. I've wasted over 16 hours trying to get the g_ether module to work. A prominent poster told me that all recent Armbian images have this ability, just follow the directions... It's not. I'm using the stock Armbian image from this website, and I've updated it via "sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade". Still no luck. The OTG connection currently shows up as a USB serial gadget, but I want a USB Ethernet gadget.

Any hints? Edit: I have the message for 19 updates, so I made apt-get update After reboot, all updates are gone and I get the message for the 19 updates again. Regards DoXer

  60. I realize there have been a few topics on this, but it seems to me that this was considered fixed. When using 5.23 with a 4.8 kernel, the MAC address was stable. After upgrading to 5.25, the MAC address was still the same as before. However after an outage, the two boards running 5.25 came up with a new MAC address (two boards still running 5.23 came up with the same MAC address). Then the MAC address seems to change every boot. The problem is that the FiOS router (an ActionTec) I have remembers both the machine name and the MAC address (it nicely creates a DNS entry). Does Armbian run on the Orange Pi Plus 2, and support its SATA interface? I was unable to find this exact board model in the compile.sh menu list.

I've downloaded Armbian for the OP Zero (Armbian_5.38_Orangepizero_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14.img), verified the gpg signature and the sha256 checksum and used Etcher v. 1.4.4 on a 2017 iMac, macOS Sierra, to burn SD cards. After burning, macOS claims "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." Maybe that's normal for Armbian? diskutil list shows: /dev/disk8 (external, physical): #: TYPE NAME SIZE …

Hi! Just saw a new board from FriendlyARM - NanoPi R1 (https://www.friendlyarm.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=69&product_id=248). It based on Allwinner H3, has dual Ethernet port, wi-fi and Bluetooth, USB, and onboard eMMC. Memory options are 512MB or 1GB. It comes in a case, just add power supply. Looks quite fun SBC for IoT and for micro router. I was unable to find Armbian images for this board. Could you please comment if is it possible to use images for other Allwinner H3 boards? Do you have any plans to support this board? Thank you in advance for your comments!

Further details please see OMV - Remote Mount: How to mount an HDD that is connected to a Fritz!Box 7490? Hi specialists, I'm trying to understand how the axp209 on Banana Pi works with the A20. In the Banana Pi schematics I see, that they are connected with only four lines. Two lines are used for I²C (TWSI), one is from axp209 PWROK to RESET# of A20 and another one is connected from axp209 IRQ and GPIO2 to NMI# of A20. When system is off and I press my Power Button (K1) on the Pi, the system is booting. System is running and I long press the Power Button, System shuts down. But can anyone say whats happening? What does axp209 do with IRQ, GPIO2 and PWROK pins? Wich way does the A20 recognize, that it has to shutdown? Yours Martin

  90. PC+ arrived today. Formated 8 GB SD card with FAT32, copied Armbian_5.14_Orangepipcplus_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.raw onto it. Green LED turns on after power applied to the board, but within seconds the red LED turns on. No output at all on HDMI. I had previously gotten a OPi PC (not plus) to work and was using it for a month so I am surprised that the PC+ is having these problems. Any suggestions? Different Linux distro? In desperation, I plugged the SD card used for the OPi PC (not plus) and it boots for several seconds, with HDMI printout stopping at "Starting LSB: tune IDE hard disks" with the red and green LEDs on. Thanks in advance....

Here, the OTG port is powered on and is usable by default without any overlay. But the on/off control does not work anymore. All attempts to export GPIO 354 give "write error: Device or resource busy". Schematics show no circ…

  93. Started by arhi,

    I'm trying to get my MAC address on my orangepi-one to be what it used to be before the upgrade to "ARMBIAN 5.27 stable Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 4.10.11-sun8i" but I'm having dificulty I tried decompiling /boot/dtb/sun8i-h3-orangepi-one.dtb and adding mac-address = [52 53 3d 80 aa 0c]; few other tries, then tried mac-address = <0x52 0x53 0x3d 0x80 0xaa 0x0c>; in the ethernet@1c30000 { section: latest version looks like: ethernet@1c30000 { compatible = "allwinner,sun8i-h3-emac"; syscon = <0x20>; …

  94. Hallo, first I want to thank Igor for the creation of armbian, great stuff! Many thanks. Now to my issue: While setting up a Lamobo R1 with armbian i was not able to get F-keys F1 to F4 working in Midnight Commander (apt-get install mc). With all three flavours (whezzy, jessie and trusty) it is the same. I tried dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration dpkg-reconfigure locales to get it working with my german (qwertz) keyboard. The behaviour is the same for local and remote (ssh). Tried also to bulid new image based on https://github.com/igorpecovnik/lib with # user DEST_LANG="de_DE.UTF-8" # sl_SI.UTF-8, en_US.UTF-8 CONSOLE_CHAR="UTF-8" …

  98. I have seen this old thread but since last post was long time ago and it was shell based I decided to go with new one ... I have the udev setup (you can see some old versions inside commented out too) root@orangepizeroplus2:~# cat /etc/udev/rules.d/60-python-pifacecommon.rules #KERNEL=="spidev*", GROUP="gpio", MODE="0660" #SUBSYSTEM=="gpio*", ACTION=="add|change", RUN+="/usr/bin/find /sys/class/gpio -exec /bin/chmod g+u {} + -exec /bin/chown :gpio {} +" #KERNEL=="gpio*", GROUP="gpio", MODE="0660" #SUBSYSTEM=="gpio*", ACTION=="add|change", RUN+="/usr/bin/find /sys/class/gpio -exec /bin/chmod g+u {} + -exec /bin/chown :gpio {} +" KERNEL=="spide…

  99. Hi all, everytime I turn on my Nano Pi it will sync the clock using NTP. When network is not enabled it will rewind the time to something that I still can't comprehend. I found lots of topics about people talking about how to add a RTC to the system, but none talking about the current RTC that is recognized by the kernel. Currently when the system is powered off and on (10 seconds distance) without network the time will rewind between 5 and 15 minutes. I understand that this happens because there is no RTC to write the current clock and battery to keep it. But there is obviously a RTC somewhere because removing power from the device and putting it back will keep a wrong b…

  100. After flashing the sd card with armbian and booting it, it asks me to enter the root password, however the keyboard that is plugged in isnt detected and nothing is typed on the screen. Ive already tried bookworm and jammy, both cli and minimal-cli variants. It is not a keyboard or usb related issue, i tested it with an older version of armbian and the keyboard still works.
