Hello folks, Based on the important amount of work you guys put in the H3 support and the great progress you've made, thank you for that, I am seriously considering buying an Orange Pi Plus (I need Gigabit Ethernet for my application). I need a server config with remote desktop via vnc, rootfs on SATA HDD, good ethernet performance, don't need Wifi, 24/7/365 operation. I just noticed there is two versions of the Orange Pi Plus, the "regular/original" with 1GB of memory and the "Plus 2" with 2GB of memory. Considering the price difference I am thinking of going with the "Plus 2", more memory never hurts, and I was wondering if I would encounter any issue using the …

Dear all, I need your help. I've built a fresh pcDuino3 firmware: Armbian 5.14 Pcduino3 -default - Debian 8 Jessie - CLI - Kernel 3.4.112 And now I'm trying to enable UARTs (2, 5 and 6). I've edited script.bin and now I got 4 ttyS devices. Could you please tell me how to "atctivate" those UARTs and which pins shoul I use. I guess that UART2 (ttyS1) uses D0 and D1 pins UART5 (ttyS2) uses SPI0_CS and SPI0_CLK pins UART6 (ttyS3) uses SPI0_MOSI and SPI0_MISO pins Am I right ? And how to enable ttySs? I tried following for the UART2 echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/export echo 25 > /sys/class/gpio/export I attached my fex. file and pcDuino3 schema Unfortu…

I'm trying to recompile the image from source (because I want the kernel with SATA PMP support, and I got the SATA port multiplier and 3 drives ready), but failed in the last step. As the attached image, the problem should be caused by "Device or resource busy". I'm using a fresh downloaded Ubuntu 16.4 VB image and follow every instructions in github. So, how can I get rid of it? Am I missing something? Thanks.

I've set up my new OPi Zero as a wireless AP running the latest Armbian build for the OPi0. It's working mostly great. My one problem I'm having is that my speeds seem to be throttled to 5-6Mbps. I connect wirelessly from my phone and run a speed test and get 5-6Mbps. If I connect directly to my router, I get 30Mbps. I have a Rpi3 set up about the same as the OPi0, and when I connect it up I get the full 30. Each time I've tested with the OPi and RPi, my phone is the only device connected. So, I've poked around online and I can't seem to figure out if it's a hardware limitation or if it's a software/driver/setting limitation. Also, if it's the latter, how/where to…

Hello to all I am using Debian Jessie 5.25 on OPi PC+. And using rpi-monitor for monitoring stuff. I already made a fully working webserver and moved my wordpress to it, CPU usage around 10-20% when taking traffic, so it works like a charm. Today i decided i will use it to download a few big files with wget command. At first i was trying to be smart and save it directly to an ntfs pendrive mounted at usb0. Result - 40% I/O wait CPU usage and limited transfer (maybe 20-30 KB/s). Yes, my pendrive is bad, but hey, not so much. So i cancelled wget and tried to download the same file into /var/ into my SD card (used as system disk). Well, transfer was ok (200kB/s ser…

I have OrangePi Zero and want to use it the following way: 1. OrangePi Zero is connected to internet via Wi-fi 2. on OrangePi's eth0 port is running DHCP server 3. I connect a computer to eth0 port on OrangePi, get IP address via DHCP and access to the internet So internet is provided to eth0 via wlan0. Now, I managed to install dnsmasq, and it is working. Hi, Many thanks for your support. I installed successfully the OpenMediaVault (OMV) ISO Image on the new Orange Pi Zero Plus (OPI0+): OMV_3_0_91_Orangepizeroplus_4.13.13.img.xz. I mounted an external USB 2.0 HDD. via OMV The OPI0+ is directly connected thru LAN cable to the router (Fritz!Box 7490). Login via PuTTY ssh works also fine. Additionally, I installed miniDLNA and configured folder/file sharing and media streaming. The flac-files are provided quickly, including album cover pictures (jpg). Now, I kindly ask for your support to disable Wi-Fi (WLAN). I thought about blacklisting the module 'cfg80211', but …

Hi enthusiast, Last few year I used Armbian 5.25, which allow me to echo cpufreq into /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_***_freq to choose the overclock freq. However, last week, I had to disconnect the power and the Banana Pi didn't boot again. So I decided to install a fresh updated version of Armbian, which is called Bionic. @ag123, @c0rnelius, and anyone else that has interest in sound on these devices. I have been able to put together a patch that enables audio for H161/H618 devices. So far only audio on HDMI works. Analog audio is still generating an error on startup. The patches were taken from a git repository by warpme: https://github.com/warpme/minimyth2/tree/master/script/kernel/linux-6.6/files , and probably came from the Zunlong SDK. A lot of the code was written by Allwinner. @pixdrift generated a version of the patches for Armbian and I continued to work on them. I have a git repository if anyone would like to test, partic…

Hello, I'm a new user of Orange Pi One - it just arrived yesterday. I installed Armbian and hoped to try out some H264 video. It appeared just fine on the first time - but I noticed lack of any OSD/subtitles. I tried to use different player (VLC), played with different video outputs. 'X11' worked well on both VLC and mpv... until I tried fullscreen. After long time spent researching the topic I found out that Armbian is using libvdpau-surni whitch is a community driver reversed-engeineered from Allwinner's commertial one, apparently avalibale for Android. I also read that its output will alvays overlap any other elements of the screen including subtitles, menus et…

I'm not sure if this is off-topic, but I'd like to ask the forum about a problem. My goal is to run RPi-Cam-Web-Interface (http://elinux.org/RPi-Cam-Web-Interface). I have 5.20 Jessie server 3.4.112 that has been updated/upgraded on an Orange Pi One with a gc2035 cam on an expansion board from aliexpress. As a first step I got the cam working. There are some threads in this forum that made that easy. I then installed github.com/roberttidey/userland since it includes raspimjpeg - a key element in the RPi-Cam-Web-Interface toolchain. But when I run raspimjeg I get the error * failed to open vchiq instance Google has solutions that involve permissions…

Hello all, just joined the forum since this is my first time using Armbian. So I got a NanoPi M1 and the dvp cam500b. From what I understand this camera uses the omnivision ov5640. I am having trouble getting this thing recognized in armbian. I get /dev/video0 to be listed by adding it to /etc/modules, but if I go to access it with any software it reports back 'no such device' or to the similar effect (this includes mjpg-streamer, fswebcam, ffmpeg). Researching around I find many forum posts of people saying one must modify the 'fex' file... to which I found out this is the decompiled version of the /boot/script.bin file using the sunxi-tools/bin2fex. Thing is, wh…

I tried to build the armbian on my Orange Pi Zero Plus 2 to work on my astro project. I'd like to share it here in case anyone is encountering the same. Hi Guyzz Just got a OPI1 (H3 512MB), and was trying out the stretch image from here https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-one/ https://dl.armbian.com/orangepione/Debian_stretch_next.7z It won't boot It starts up , w. both Orange & Green leds on lan , then i can see it requests a dhcp address , and it gets one (req/offer runs many times), then nothing happens after that. Just - Green light blinks on lan , Orange is unlit. I tried to write (linux dd) it on 2 different SD-cards , a 8GB Intenso , and also a 16GB Sandisk - same behaviour. I grabbed the latest Jessie from the archive , and wrote it to the Intenso 8GB , and it booted fine w. jessie. I don't mind…

I'm trying to add concurrent mode to the wifi driver on an Orange Pi PC Plus running the latest stable distribution of Armbian, but running into an "invalid module format" error due to the kernel version not matching the source version I'm using to recompile the wifi driver. I installed both the source and header files from armbian-config. The kernel version is 4.19.59 according to uname -r. This apparently is the linux-image-next-sunxi image, according to `apt-cache search linux-image | grep 4.19.59`. However, the source for the next-sunxi branch in the repository is 4.19.57, not 4.19.59, as `apt-cache search linux-source | grep next-sunxi` gives: linu…

My Armbian paste is at https://paste.armbian.com/yamakinoce This is an OrangePi Zero Plus, with an H3, not an H5 or an H2. I see all kinds of problems here but don't know how to fix them. It seems the DTB is just wrong for this board. For one, there are interrupts showing up in /proc/interrupts for HDMI and LCD, but this physical board has *neither* of those. It has an Ethernet PHY but neither the kernel nor uboot see it. It also has a Wifi but the kernel does not see that either. Does a correct DTB exist for this board? What is its name? I vaguely remember a couple ways to force the kernel and uboot to use a different DTB …

Hi , my op one board is installed latest armbian but i couldnt see serail ports The default serial port /dev/ttyS0, used for (bootstrap) debugging and the serial console, is located at J11 - refer to the picture and instructions below. The Raspberry's "original" serial port on GPIO 14 and 15 (CON3, pins 8 and 10) can usually be accessed as /dev/ttyS2 on the Orange Pi Plus. J12 also provides another serial port on pins 4 (RX) and 6 (TX), which should map to /dev/ttyS3. only i see /dev/ttyS0 and /dev/ttyGS0--GS4 how can i fix this issue ?

Hi, I've tried to finally move on from 5.04, but the new image doesn't boot. At least, HDMI doesn't show anything and my router doesn't see the board when connected via ethernet. On the first power-on the green led glows a few minutes, then red one blinks a few times alone, then both leds blink and then only green one glows. On successive boots only green led glows uninterruptedly. Do you need any information to make it work? BTW, legacy kernel worked fine for me, except my HDD connected with hdd-usb adapter (Agestar 3FBCP1) spits errors every few seconds and performance is unbearable. Connected to my router with TomatoUSB the same hdd works fine. I hoped n…

Hi everybody, I'm trying to build an owncloud server with my Cubieboard2 dual card, using a Debian Jessie based rom. I download both the Vanilla and legacy versions, but when I put them on the SD.. the system does not boot! The official images hosted on sunxi servers are different between the "normal" version (with NAND) and mine (with two sd slots, 1 for boot and 1 for data, but no NAND). It could be this the problem? I'm also trying to start with a clean debian installation trhough official installer for armhf but no success. Thanks a lot and have a great end of the year!

Hi there I wanted to ask if anybody got HDMI-CEC to work with their Orange Pi Lite. The data sheet says its supported, but I can't get it to work with Armbian. What I tried till now is installing cec-utils with all dependencies and running "cec-client -l", hoping it would work out-of-the-box: root@orangepilite:~# cec-client -l Found devices: NONE Tried different cables and HDMI Ports. CEC is enabled in the TV (Samsung). After a bit of googling (and trying some stuff applying to the RPi) I am now thinking that maybe the kernel hasn't got CEC support compiled in...? root@orangepilite:~# uname -a Linux orangepilite 3.4.112-sun8i #10 SMP PREEMPT Sun Oct 23 16:…

Hi. I encountered problem, glimpsed through topics and didn't found anything similar so I am posting this one now. Had set up OrangePi Zero 256MB version with Domoticz and everything looked great. I have 2 internet connections, one is PON FTTH and the other one is VDSL. So I have 2 routers with RJ45 and 2 WiFi networks at home. One for my personal usage (ftth, locked router by ISP, static IP but no port forwarding) and the other one is for all home users (dynamic IP but full access to router options). I hooked up OPI using cat5e cable to my router and this connection is working perfectly reliable. I had XR819 hooked up to VDSL router as auxiliary connection (and con…

Hey all, I understand these things are in active development at the moment. Deferring probe [ 1.806320] sun50i-usb3-phy 5210000.phy: failed to get phy clock which from my limited experience with linux kernel seems to indicate that the device tree config may be incorrect for the board - as most searching for these errors show the code added as part of updates to get the pine64 board's usb 3.0 stack working. Hi friends! Here is the situation. Trying the armbian jessie 3.4.109 and 4.2.3. When installing a new soft it takes to much time. For example, when running apt-get upgrade after fresh image install, it takes about 17 minutes. Of course it contain the core update. But that upgrade part on jessie takes about 7min, on wheezy about 3min. The same thing when just install some software, like apache2 or mc. It takes to much time (for mc it takes about 1 min on jessie, about 30sec on wheezy). The same with reloading. It takes about 1min. Situation is the same on both jessie 3.4.109 and 4.2.3 Tried the same with Banana PI. The same thing. I use the fastest SD card. …

I know this is a well known topic but since I didn't find an issue like the one I'm having I felt the need of explaining it. I recently bought an Orange Pi Zero board + extension board with AV, micro and 2 additional USB + case. During the 3 days I've been testing it I've been having a lot of issues related maybe to the heat (or maybe not). I have built a streaming media server called Mopidy, which is pretty cool but at certain times it completely hangs when I'm reproducing audio (by the way, I'm using only stable Debian / Ubuntu because kernel 4.11 isn't detecting the soundcard for some reason). It sometimes takes 1 hour to get stuck, …

When you plug the power in, the board start by itself and U-boot does the rest. I would like to disable this feature in order to be able to plug in the power, charge the battery if needed and start the board with the regular push button. Old post below, here is what I found out thanks to some help from linux-sunxi IRC, I think this is a bug in the ondemand governor When using ASIX AX88772B USB to ethernet adapter and the cpu-governor is on ondemand, transfer speed is very slow. If governor is set to conservative or performance (yes that's right) speed is ok, 50 Mbit at least. So the problem has nothing to do with cpu speed as such (it's working @ steady 480Mhz and @ steady 1200Mhz) for now I'll stick with conservative as I don't want my board to burn up, but It would be nice if someone could take a look at that ondemand governor. Additional info: …

Hello, I'm running a OPI Lite with debian jessie, All works fine until i have to reboot, and that happens quiet often while testing software. AFTER the boot i'm not able to reach the OPI via SSH, because the eth0 is activated ...and has a 169.x.x.x ip adress... On the OPI Lite i can ONLY discover WIFI and no eth0 connector...So i go into the "nmtui" tool and "disactivate" the eth0... Than i have access again via the wifi to my OPI lite. How can i completely disable the eth0, that only WIFI connects to my network? I didn't find about this behavior on the web, anyone else have that problem? Kind regards from Hans F4VSJ

Hi again, I've a strange problem again. I've several Lime2 and tested them with USB-Sticks, works fine. Now I got a Fan-Tec case (USB 3.0 DB-ALU3-6G) containing a 4TB-SATA from a customer. As soon as I plug the disk into one of the USB-Plugs of a lime2, I got a kernel panic: Message from syslogd@localhost at Oct 19 17:49:20 ... kernel:[ 460.550693] Internal error: Oops: 17 [#1] PREEMPT SMP ARM Message from syslogd@localhost at Oct 19 17:49:20 ... kernel:[ 461.304238] Process kworker/u:1 (pid: 55, stack limit = 0xee9702f0) Message from syslogd@localhost at Oct 19 17:49:20 ... kernel:[ 461.314387] Stack: (0xee971d78 to 0xee972000) .... Hi to All, I decided to start this new tread for searching of the best solution for unification of the boot process from any available media. Main target is Armbian next and development branches and mainline Kernel and U-Boot. Boot device can be eMMC, SD/MMC, USB Flash/HDD and SATA HDD/SSD probed in given order. In case of booting from eMMC, SD/MMC and USB Flash Read-Only Root FS can be used optionally. In case of booting from SD/MMC or USB Flash eMMC and / or SATA devices can be updated automatically. Some effort in this direction was done by me and described in Armbian Customization thread. The tests was done on Olimex' A20-Olimexino-Lime2-eMMC (HW rev. …

Hi, Sorry for the newbie question. Is it possible to configure Armbian/OrangePiZero such as it can bridge 2 wireless networks. i.e.: connecting to an existing SSID to gain access to the internet, and at the same time servicing as an access point using another SSID ? And.... how do I do that ? Thanks in advance, Richard

Hi all, first i want to thank all of you for this great software. Problem: No ethernet on mainline 4.11 kernel. I tracked the problem down to a 'ethernet status = "disabled"' in the dtb for the orange pi zero. How to fix it? I have only very little experience with Device tree. 4.11 is ok for the other OPs, i tested the OP One. Kind regards svollmar

Hello I have an issue with my wifi, it's not reliable. There is no problem with my laptop, or any other devices on my network, but my NanoPi Neo is disconneted after a few hours. It can stay alive for an half a day, and after it become unreachable. As I have no other connection to my NanoPi it's a bit hard to establish what appens. But if I unplug the USB Wifi dungle, and replugged it the link come back. Doing a ping to the NanoPi, I see regular "Request timeout for icmp_seq" - every 20, 50 or 100 request, it depends - and sometime the request time is abnormally huge: serveral seconds. The config has bee done with nmtui, the…

I have tried to run the h3consumption monitor program (https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/master/packages/bsp/h3consumption) in an up to date Armbian 5.38 stable Debian Stretch 4.14.14 on a PiOne. After the command 'sudo h3consumption -h' and other commands it gives 'This tool requires legacy kernel on H3 devices. Exiting.' Is there any solution for this? Can I change the 3.4.*) to 3.4.*|4.14.*) in the script without any problems? https://github.com/armbian/build/blob/180112d72d31ec3629896f272a1d59ef3d83dc8d/packages/bsp/h3consumption#L123 # check platform and kernel case $(uname -r) in 3.4.*) HARDWARE=$(awk '/Hardw…
