Hi there, I got some NanoPi-NEO running and need to update the kernel, modules and dtb's. With 4.18 the Ethernet does not seem to get started correctly. I noticed a change in u-boot and the newer Armbian releases have Ethernet-Support in u-boot. So my basic idea is to not just copy the kernel files but also update u-boot via dd command. I suppose there are at least 3 regions in the image: 1. the partition table which I don't want to change. 2. the u-boot configuration which I'd like to keep. 3. the u-boot runtime. So for #2 and #3 I'll need an image file. I'm trying to set-up a build environment f…

  2. Hi, I've been playing around with a OPi Win+ which is aint bad but full support seems a while off ... I'm looking for a quad core, 2G, good wifi with external antenna and this seems to fit the requirements. I dont care too much about hdmi but if it works all the better. I was just wondering what current owners thought of it. Can the internal wifi do AP mode and will it do dual modes ... hostapd-8188 will create wlan0 & wlan1 so that you both connect to an AP and be an AP. Google doesnt show much about 8189ETV Given that the armbian download shows it with a legacy kernel but stable I expect that everything 'works' ... …

  3. Hi all, I have a Nano Pi Neo Core board with Armbian 5.15.93, and I want to upgrade it to 6.1. I ran the "armbian-config", and selected the new version linux-image-edge-sunxi=23.02.2 based on kernel 6.1.11-sunxi. After the update the board does not boot anymore. Further investigation shows that the original "/boot" folder was looking like this: And after the upgrade, I get this: A "uInitrd" symlink is broken, the "uInitrd-6.1.11-sunxi" file is missing, and obviously, the board cannot boot. Question N1: where can I get the proper "uInitrd-6.1.11-sunxi" file? I cannot find it online,…

  6. Hello, I am using Armbian on a Nanopi Neo Allwinner h3. 8. Hi, i have an orangepi zero 2w and tried noble gnome image with the "current" kernel (v6.6.x). I activated the gpu via armbian-config and reboot. Then it stucks somewhere in the booting process. It shows nothing on the screen. If i use the orange pi image instead, i can activate the gpu with orangepi-config, which is a similar tool like armbian-config. The gpu works fine then and has great performance. So it's theoretically possible. Can someone explain to me what the problem is here. If it was a simple port, it would surely have already been done. I tried also the dtb from the orange pi image, but then it also didnt boot up. Th…

I was able to successfully create the ethernet gadget. (Using Armbian_3.4.112_g_ether_kernel.tar.bz2) That is pretty cool. But I would like the mass storage or vendor device. I was playing around with modprobe but I am not really sure what I am doing. Module g_mass_storage is not found. I have searched this site and online for the last few hours and just got more confused. Thanks for any help.

How would I be able to filter or disable all this log content from the kernel to journald?

  47. Started by Dave Kimble,

My Prime is reasonably stable now, except for running youtube videos in fullscreen 1920x1080, which drives the heat up (I've seen 87 !), and after a few minutes freezes the video with the sound continuing. I can't find any mention of YouTube in the documentation, and only video URLs in the forum. Is there some trick I have missed?

At the moment i only got a Raspberry Pi Cooling set(http://www.conrad.ch/ce/de/product/1267831/Kuehlungs-Kit-Raspberry-Pi-A-B-B-Cubieboard-Banana-Pi). Is there a way to get the Board to get to 45° Celsius with no fan? Thanks for the Project, good to see that someone works on these devices to keep them Supported with the newest stuff. 49. Checking in... NanoPi-NEO v.1.31 with the OLED hat... need to be a bit specific as there are multiple HW revs of the NEO - v1.2 and later moved from LDO to a DC/DC regulator, so info from 1.0/1.1 might not be accurate these days - still sorting out the regulator in use, as there are a couple of options with Allwinner H3 there. I think it's the SY8113B, but hard to tell... Testing with Armbian 5.61 vs. FriendlyArm's 4.14.52 build for their OLED hat (I'd source a direct link, but they have two source - baidu and google drive) -- The friendlyarm image is pretty good with temps on the 4.14.52 kernel, typically around 31-33c idle, and I've not seen temp…

  55. Hello, I am new to orange PIs and got a "OPi PC plus" a few weeks ago. After some research I found out, that armbian ist the best OS for me In the past I tried with effort to set up a 3G / Lan / WIFI Router with USB / Samba share to have mobile network and files. It works like a charm, outer that I can not get more than 72.2 mbps to my wifi clients. Today I had many time to search and first result is, that the neighbor scan will reduce to 20MHz channels because of detected overlapping APs. With a patched version of hostapd you should be able to set 40MHz channels by overriding the scan. Infos here: https://www.brunsware.de/blog/gentoo/hostapd-40…

  73. Wondering if there's anything similar to retroarch or mednafen that'll work for armbian on a pcduino3? I can't get the former to compile/install and the latter gives me guff about not being able to find a GLX visual when it tries to load video. It's worth noting that I'm pretty green when it comes to Linux, especially when it comes to "exotic"/SoC builds. I have nothing against learning, but I've found the signal-to-noise ratio for this product in particular is very poor and a lot of the info is woefully obsolete.

Pink screen on monitor Acer AL1716. Armbian 5.35 legacy OrangePi PC HDMI with DSUB convertor new installation In previous version 5.24 works monitor fine. If I connect OPI to second monitor LG1752S and restart OPI, screen is OK. After reconnect back to AL1716, screen is still ok. But after restart with AL1716 is screen again pink. Tested some different resolutions with h3disp, but still get pink screen. Looks like problem with monitor detection at start. Is possible to disable detection after start with working monitor and set as default? Any other solution? Edit: I found…

  90. Hi All! OS - ARMBIAN 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi OPI Zero. armbianEnv.txt : overlay_prefix=sun8i-h3 overlays=uart2 param_uart2_rtscts=1 RTS CTS don't work I check the work of the logical analyzer. The line RTS does not change the voltage during the request for data transmission. This is necessary for me to connect the MAX485 chip to UART2 OPI Zero.

  94. Hello, Wish a good health everyone nowadays! I'm using Orange Pi PC Plus with small aluminium heatsink running Armbian Buster (mainline kernel 5.4.y). SD Card is Samsung EVO Plus 32gb. The CPU governor was set to 480 to 1200, conservative. The system are fresh, just after install. After ~5 minutes of idle uptime temperature comes to 85 and up. Is that heatsink are not good enough? And the second issue I've faced - too quiet sound output from AV-out. The most quiet is Chromium, it is nasty quiet. Sound from local video files in mpv player are bit(2 times) louder both from mp4 and webm, also mp3. Have not tested HDMI(because my…

  96. Hello everyone, I've recently bought an OrangePI PC Plus with an intentions to make it (beside others) a multimedia center. Because of community and pretty good status of armbian on h3, I've downloaded and installed (a.k.a copied to sd) the latest armbian I found (5.20 with kernel 3.4.112). Everything went ok, I've got graphical desktop, hw accelerated h264 and h265 over hdmi to my tv. So the next step was to install kodi. An that's the point where my troubles started. After I installed kodi and probably updated the whole armbian (apt update && apt upgrade && apt dist-upgrade), I noticed that my TV turns off almost immediately I turn it on to h…
