Hi, First of all: Thank you for all the great work that you're doing, Igor! I really appreciate it. And sorry for my english. I try to install Armbian (debian jessie legacy kernel) on the NAND on cubieboard1, but I think that the installation doesn't go to the end. Initially, a lubuntu was installed on NAND (http://docs.cubieboard.org/tutorials/a10-cubieboard_lubuntu_desktop_releases) and operated normally. I booted with Sdcard "Armbian" (Armbian_4.5_Cubieboard_Debian_jessie_3.4.109) and I run ./nand-sata-install: It will tell me, all data will be deleted on nand, and after a second or so it will inform me, should reload that script after reboot after reboot, I run…

  7. Hi there, tomorrow I should obtain my OPi Zero Plus2. I see it does not have USB port (just GPIO for USB, so I could solder USB port for it with GPIO, no problem). Then, I will need to install my own raspbian.img on eMMC (I am using read only system). Till now I installed it on many SD cards to another Opi Zero's and used it so (because of lack eMMC). But how to install it on Opi Zero Plus2? Do I need to install it on SD card first and then go with nand-sata-install? 12. Hello and hi everyone. So I've got a Cubietruck with the NAND replaced by TSD eMMC. The TSD behaves like an SD card, and previously tested to run OK using Cubieez-TSD. However, I need to run Node.JS on the Truck, and the Cubieez Debian Wheezy Node.JS support stops at v6 (now we're at NodeJS v8). Ubuntu Xenial will still have NodeJS v8 support, so it's good excuse to change to a new OS. I'm using this image to successfully flash my SD card: Armbian_5.31_Cubietruck_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop. Hi there, I was expecting /etc/machine-id to be unique for every install, but it is static which was very unexpected (I use it as the basis of machine-specific identifier which should have been globally unique). fixing it up was easy enough: rm -f /etc/machine-id rm -f /var/lib/dbus/machine-id dbus-uuidgen --ensure systemd-machine-id-setup Shouldn't this be done when the root fs is being resized on the first boot?

[H5: Nanopi neo core 2] I observe the UART Rx line to be influenced by the RTS line which I am using during sending. Is there a way to enable an internal pull-up on Rx so that this doesn't happen? I suspect it's the cause of communication errors that I observe. I confess that I am currently on a FriendlyCore 4.16 build, but I wouldn't expect such an issue to be too distribution-specific.

  27. Hi, I can boot off an SD card, but my Teres boots off internal storage to a black screen and I'm trying to figure out why. It seems even when I set verbose=7 in /boot/armbianEnv.txt, there is little to no kernel diagnostic output, even on a working SD card. I read on the debian wiki that u-boot-menu works on the Teres, but I tried installing this on an SD card and it prevents the SD card from booting (similarly to my internal storage booting issue). I've actually compared the contents of the unallocated space in front of the filesystem between the working sdcard and the internal storage, and they differ only in the partition table. Additionally …

My cubietruck mac address which I am assuming is auto generated is invalid. Though one would think it should work, other software on routers will not accept the mac as valid, and thus I can not add configurations to it. We probably need a layer somewhere to create 'valid' mac addresses. 02:C2:07:C0:B7:C7 is the generated mac that my cubietruck is currently using which software claims is invalid.

  31. Hi all, I'm trying to use an Orange Pi PC Plus to drive an RS485 serial converter and ultimately talk Modbus to a sensor device. I have managed to get flow control enabled on the port, but the polarity of the RTS signal is active LOW, whereas the converter I have requires active HIGH. Is there any way to invert the polarity of the RTS pin for the UART? I think it can be done via ioctl call in C programs, but I need this applied at a system level to be compatible with some third party software. Thanks in advance!

  51. Hi everybody, I asked to forum in the past about game library for C but it is very hard to develop our software in C. As I told in the past, I don't develop a game, I using it to draw some graphs in 2d or 3d. I am here again to ask that, Is OPI Zero can run a game software from Monogame framework. We can port our windows C# software which is written with XNA framework to Linux enviorment with MonoGame. Thanks

  53. Your kernel does not appear to be compiled with support for unprivileged user namespaces (CONFIG_USER_NS=y), or something else is preventing creation of user namespaces. This feature is critical for sandboxing. Arch Linux is known to ship with a kernel that disables this feature; if you are using Arch, you will unfortunately need to compile your own kernel (see https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/36969).If you are not using Arch, and don't know why your system wouldn't have user namespaces, please file a bug against Sandstorm so we can figure out what happened. .....anyone? Thanks! (going to try compiling now, but figured I'd ask.…

  54. The "desktop" image for Banana Pi used to be based on Debian Jessie, but now it has been replaced by a Ubuntu xenial based image. For some reason I need the debian image, but after checking https://dl.armbian.com/bananapi/archive/ I did not see the old images. Is it possible to have the old image now? Thanks! (I have been using that jessie desktop image for a long time until just now the SD card died...)

It even says here Heat is not a problem since i have a large heatsink and temperature controlled fan, i was just curious about why the max frequency was bumped to 1368Mhz on the newer builds. What's the rationale behind it?

  56. The rtl8189etv wifi module on the orange pi r1 is not integrated into the main PCB. From photos on the web there seem to be such wifi modules with little pins which maybe can just be plugged in like some kind of hat but there are also versions without pins. Does anyone know if the wifi module on the opi r1 can be just unplugged or do the pins need to be cut or desoldered? Are there any issues to expect when removing the module. Wifi won't work obviously, but anything beyond that ?

Anyone having wifi with the built in wifi card work properly? Mine just shuts off. With an external wifi usb card, it works like a charm. Since my 3-d printers are in the living room I i have the orange pi:s in the living room. They are primary used for octoprint. I would like to have the built in wifi on orangepi prime to work.

  61. I have tried a few different suggestions that I have seen online to implement wifi on Orange PC with a wifi dongle. However, none them can work reliably. OrangePi zero works but wifi speed is very slow (about 1-2Mbps). I recently tried using Raspberry Pi with wifi dongles. It is almost plug and play and very reliable. I hope there is a way to do the same on OPi. If anybody know one, please let me know. I will be happy to try it out and report back.

And it plays Xvid Encoded AVI files totally mess way with lots of artifacts, sometimes with colored stripes instead of video stream. I also tried SMPlayer and VLC, but they play some MKV files with green artifacts and AVIs are totally mess. I tried different settings for VLC but have not reached success with the settings. So what video player is universal and good for Armbian ro what settings should I set to get good video quality?
