Hello. this is my first post. I was looking through the forum but I did not find a similar problem. About power supply - until now I did not have any problems, I use a computer power supply. After a few months of non-use of my device, I downloaded an updated, latest version (Armbian_5.38_Lime2_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop) to an old, previously functioning card. When I connected the device, it did not turn on. I tried to turn it on manually, but nothing happened except the short flash on the connected mouse. A while ago, I uploaded an older desktop version to NAND. I used the sd card to start up. Is it possible that this older version loaded on NAND c…

  2. Hi, is it possible to have the serial/UART on the Olimex LIME2 to work as a serial console on Armbian Jessie (kernel version 4.5.2)? The UART is already working during early boot, but once kernel is loaded it becomes inactive. /boot/boot.cmd contains: setenv bootargs "console=tty1 root=/dev/sda1 rootwait rootfstype=ext4 sunxi_ve_mem_reserve=0 sunxi_g2d_mem_reserve=0 sunxi_no_mali_mem_reserve sunxi_fb_mem_reserve=16 hdmi.audio=EDID:0 disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 panic=10 consoleblank=0 enforcing=0 loglevel=1" Thanks

Hi, I'm wondering if I can use your images for running an audio streamer, outputing digital audio via USB Audio Class 2 (for connection to an external DAC). at : http://www.igorpecovnik.com/2014/11/18/olimex-lime-debian-sd-image/ you mention that it does not have audio driver : does this mean that even USB audio cannot be achieved ? If not, any hints on why this is not supported ? Thanks!

  5. have there been more changes for Desktop recently except the repos? Yesterday I have updated and tried to compile, noticed that the function "fetch_from_github" was gone (replaced by "fetch_from_repo"?). After I changed my script accordingly I was able to compile, but the desktop doesn't come up any more. It looks like "fbturbo" module is completely missing? I don't see any reference to this in the logs; where should it be so I can try to debug?

  8. Hi all, some days ago I successfully built the image mentioned above (Build environment is Ubuntu 14.04/64 bit). The only remarkable issue was the ever-repeating "firstrun" script, which was easily solved with the method mentioned here: http://forum.armbian.com/index.php/topic/1100-post-install-scripts-on-every-reboot/#entry8509 (may be ALL of the scripts should be changed this way?) But today, after checking out the actual "master", I see a lot of failed copy and sed commands until the debootstrap-ng script finally fails at Mali-libdri2. The 1st occurrence of an error was during installation of "ramlog". I've inserted a breakpoint and looked into the imag…

Hey all, I'm using U-boot 2017-09 and Kernel 4.13. I'm looking for a way to disable the board auto start. I'm explaining. When you plug the power in, the board start by itself and U-boot does the rest. I would like to disable this feature in order to be able to plug in the power, charge the battery if needed and start the board with the regular push button. Is there any tweak to be done in the Device Tree ? Thanks Florian

Hello, I'm using the last Kernel (4.13.3) and U-boot (2017-09). I noticed that the device does not reboot each time we ask for it. It sometime get stuck and I have to start it manually, this is really annoying for my needs. I figure it out that the Device Tree from 4.13.3 introduce some improvement on AXP209 and power management. I tried Device Tree file from 4.11.x and everything seems fine. Does any body noticed it ? Thanks

  11. Hi everybody, At first I would like to thank you all cause of all your comments in previous posts that helped to make my Lime2 working great. But since the 5.35 upgrade it doesn't want to start anymore. I was on a A20-OLinuXino-LIME2 without eMMC and the Armbian_5.31_Lime2_Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.4.113_desktop image which I upgraded to the 5.35. On the 5.31 I modified before the update the /boot/bin/lime2.bin file into a lime2lcd10.bin file in order to make the lime2 work with the LCD-OLinuXino-10TS of Olimex. After the update, I needed to make the link again with the /boot/script.bin file. But even with a new Armbian image freshly downlo…

  16. Hi all, I've been using the A20-Lime2 together with Armbian for about two years now and I love the effort that the developers and the community have put into this amazing product. Until not too long ago I was on Debian 8 (jessie) on the legacy kernel for webcam compatibility reasons (after having tried switching to mainline from time to time). With the release of Debian 9 I finally had everything that I was looking for in the mainline kernel so I decided to upgrade to Debian 9 and then switch to the mainline kernel. I'm currently on ARMBIAN 5.38 stable with 4.14.15-sunxi and just had to force a reboot. The server I'm running is mainly a webserver, …

Wanted to have a regular armbian install on the sd card, and then an encrypted root partition on an SSD attached with SATA. However, if I install the `dropbear-initramfs` package, copy my ssh keys to /etc/dropbear-initramfs/authorized_keys and then do `update-initramfs -u` the bootloader doesn't seem to get past the initial stages. 22. Hello, Earlier on this week I decided to upgrade the kernel and the DTBs on my Armbian cluster (quite a few different boards but all of them based on Allwinner A20) from buster-next-5.92 to buster-current-20.08.2. Having successfully completed the upgrade on several other servers, I moved on to the lime2 one - which promptly failed to come back up after the reboot. Connecting the serial console shows u-boot doing its thing without issues and the kernel beginning to boot, producing normal messages - only to suddenly freeze. When exactly the freeze occurs varies, sometimes it even happens halfway through outputting a message line - but it is definitely before th…

  26. Hi, I could enable "spidev" support by armbian-config -> system -> hardware (enable spidev) . Everything worked fine. Hey, I am currently trying to get sending IR commands from my CubieTruck working. I am using Igors Armbian_4.2_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_3.4.108 image. But it seems like the modules are not initialised in a way that they also can send since irsend returns errors that this device does not support sending. I tried it with the hardware.conf from the image aswell as with the hardware.conf and init.d file from https://github.com/matzrh/sunxi-lirc/wiki. Apparently, I have to do "echo $GPIO-Number > /sys/class/lirc_gpio/tx_gpio_pin" which I did with the right pin so in theory, the driver should be set up the way it is supposed to be. Yet still irsend throws errors. Ca…

Hi, I'm trying to send IR command from a IR led from an Orange Pi, i have it working fine on an Arduino, but it seems that on linux it's a bit more complicated as there are no lib that can control a GPIO with an IR transmitter, it seems that everybody is using LIRC. I see for raspberry pi this needs to be done : EDIT /etc/modules WITH : lirc_dev lirc_rpi gpio_in_pin=23 gpio_out_pin=22 the Orange PI devier module is different, so i do not know how to control it to let it know where the transmitter is. Alternatively is there a way I can build old version myself? I ran ./compile docker BOARD=orangepilite2 BRANCH=dev but resulting image doesn't work also.

Hi All, I'm new here, well been lurking a while reading heaps, just not posting before now. My Orange Pi's arrived a few days ago so I have been playing, I have Ubuntu_xenial_3.4.112 image on both types and am able to connect to home wifi and do apt-get update/upgrade so all good here. One thing I wanted to do is use batman-adv, but the kernel module seems to have been disabled on the armbian images: @orangepipcplus:~# cat /boot/config-3.4.112-sun8i |grep BATMAN # CONFIG_BATMAN_ADV is not set It took me a while to figure out how to confirm this was the case but another post pointed me to the /boot/config-3.4.112-sun8i file. Hi, I am trying to write my own kernel module/drive for the NanoPi air, running a self-compiled version of armbian 5.83. Actually I only added the PREEMTION option to get real-time behavior when reading/writing from IO pins. I started using the "hello world" template from here. To get the module compiled I had to build the headers for my kernel as well using the option INSTALL_HEADERS in the armbian-build config file. The build debian-package called "linux-headers-next-sunxi_5.83_armhf.deb" was copied and installed on the NanoPi. OK, so now compiling (on the NanoPi - so no cross-compilation) works like a charm: > make make -C /lib/modules/4.…

  92. Hi, I can only find legacy images on the website. Is there a place to get mainline images so I can test docker? Thanks in advance. Regards, Michal

  94. I've installed a bootable Armbian Ubuntu on an SD card. I plan to copy the SD's OS into multiple OPI PC+ devices. The problem I found was that somehow the HDMI monitor displays a different max resolution depending on which OPI device I'm using. The armbianEnv.txt for the SD card: verbosity=1 logo=disabled console=both #disp_mode=1920x1080p60 disp_mode=1280x720p60 overlay_prefix=sun8i-h3 rootdev=UUID=8bc771e4-1c8a-4bd0-af02-00570c63c5c9 rootfstype=ext4 overlays=uart1 uart2 uart3 extraargs=drm_kms_helper.edid_firmware=edid/1280x720.bin usbstoragequirks=0x2537:0x1066:u,0x2537:0x1068:u When I boot the SD card on the OPIPC+ displaying the correct max resolu…

  95. Hello, I'm following this project : I was recently spending time on the activities to do with children, 3D printing and robotics, and in order to be able to try to follow https://docs.armbian.com/Developer-Guide_Build-Preparation/ i have bought a new laptop which respect the requirements (SSD, ram...). So now my next goal is to try to make a custom version of armbian dedicated to the schools. To start, for the first step, I would like to try make a localized version of armbian in French by default, in order to be more easier for the French speaking user. With the new evolutions of armbian for OrangePiPC+, there is an ubuntu…

  96. I'm on an Orange Pi One with a fresh install of Armbian 5.38. I've installed build-essential and linux-headers-sun8i but not having any luck. I've also got the newest make version (4.1-9.1). Could someone point me in the right direction? EDIT: I've also attempted to use armbian-config to add headers but that hasn't seemed to work either

  97. Started by berturion,

Hello, My problem is that curl tries to use ipv6 to resolve DNS entries and my home modem-router doesn't handle ipv6 so curl fails and fallbacks to ipv4. The process lasts 10 to 15 seconds because of this. For example (38s - 23s = 15s to resolve hostname): $ curl -v --trace-time https://api.owncloud.com 15:53:23.053958 * Rebuilt URL to: https://api.owncloud.com/ 15:53:23.055233 * Hostname was NOT found in DNS cache 15:53:38.583565 * Trying 85.25.74.45... 15:53:38.803420 * Connected to api.owncloud.com (85.25.74.45) port 443 (#0) And if I add '-4' option (only a few milliseconds): $ curl -4 -v --trace-time https://api.owncloud.com …

  98. Hi! Using Jessie, I made the mistake of running apt-get upgrade => and on the next reboot by R1 did not boot anymore. I can chroot into the image (using qemu-arm-static) but have absolutely no clue what went wrong: Checking my dpkg.log, I found that the kernel seems not have been updated? root@asterix:/var/log# grep 05-10.*linux dpkg.log 2016-05-10 18:22:02 upgrade linux-libc-dev:armhf 3.16.7-ckt20-1+deb8u3 3.16.7-ckt25-2 2016-05-10 18:22:02 status half-configured linux-libc-dev:armhf 3.16.7-ckt20-1+deb8u3 2016-05-10 18:22:02 status unpacked linux-libc-dev:armhf 3.16.7-ckt20-1+deb8u3 2016-05-10 18:22:02 status half-installed linux-libc-dev:armhf 3.16.7-…

  99. I installed the latest 5.4.8 Buster Desktop image on my Orange Pi +2e board but find the Mali drivers are (Utgard) missing or not loaded. I have tried to follow every possible links including (https://linux-sunxi.org/Mali_binary_driver) related to get VDPAU / VAAPI and GPU but with very little success. I want to have HW acceleration enabled for playing MPEG in full screen mode 1920x1280 resolution using mpv. The frame drops are significant. Questions: Are Mali drivers included in this build? If it is then how can I go about adding those drivers. Is there any licencing issues in adding Mali drivers to the Armbian image? Is there any chances of Lim…

  100. I am running the desktop Ubuntu Xenial legacy image from https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus/. My goal is to setup the system for gaming, so I am looking to get the accelerated GPU performance. A couple questions: 1. Does this image run with an accelerated driver enabled by default? When loading applications that use GL, I see a log about not being able to load the mali driver. 2. If not, where can I get the driver and how can it be enabled? I know that distributions like RetrOrangePi include this by default, but I want to understand what they are loading so I can setup the system on my own. Thank you!
