  1. Hi, I always been an retrorangepi user for my Opi1. but the lastest retrorangepi is stuck at 4.1 (I try the 4.2 slim but it's too slim) and the 4.3 beta also if its named as full, lacks of kodi and many emulators. so, my thought is. What if I build my personal emulationstation + lastest kodi on top of lastest armbian? Can I install armbian and then emustation and kodi? Do I have to install all emulator one by one? or I could use retroarch? Can I setup armbian to boot emustation? I think could be a good thing also for study

Hi, I tried 3.4.107 wheezy on my Micro with HDMI screen. It show some image and message at boot, and then there's no signal to display. I also tried to change display resolution in "boot.scr" file, and tried "a10disp changehdmimodeforce 4" command, and ssh terminal show: sunxi disp kernel module version is 1.0 Cannot change HDMI mode because HDMI is not enabled.

  6. I have Armbian_4.5_Cubietruck_Debian_jessie_3.4.109 running from NAND on my Cubietruck. Boot, reboot and shutdown are very slow. I assume that this is caused by this bug: As I do not need WIFI and Bluetooth ... Is it possible to remove WIFI and Bluetooth completely? How? Would that help with the mentioned problem? Is it ensured, that the WIFI and Bluetooth hardware modules are shutoff / power save when disabled? P.S.: great work Igor

Hi all, traditionally I have used Bananian on the Bannan Pi M1+, but I thought that I would give Armbian a go as there seems to be more activity here and there are tools for compiling an entire image from scratch :-) So far I love Ambian, thank you for the work. I have tried the vanilla Jessie image (both downloaded from here and compiled myself) on the Banana Pi M1+ and with the exception of the WiFi issuet which I solved from this forum, all ran well. However I can't seem to find an SPI driver. My apologies if there is another forum post about this, I did try searching but the search function removed SPI from the query due to it being less than 4 chars :-( When…

  9. So ARMbian is my preferred OS for the pcduino3 because it outperforms all of the other options. However, I'm having trouble altering the screen resolution. I'm trying to get it set to 1024x768@60p and it's not playing ball. I've edited script.bin and boot.cmd to change the display mode to output mode/type 4 (desired res and VGA mode respectively) but it just goes to a blank screen and refuses to boot when I reboot it. What exactly do I need to do to get this resolution working? If 1024x768@60 isn't an option, I can work with 1280x1024@60 as well, but I'm still clueless as to the necessary steps to take to change it. -edit- Sorry I should add I'm using the jess…

  11. I have a non compliant usb device that I want to work with my Orange Pi Lite board. I know how to make it work under Arch linux. For that I need to edit source for the usb generic hid driver (kernel/drivers/hid/hid-core.c), recompile the usb kernel module and reinstall it to intramfs (mkinitcpio -p linux). To recompile kernel module I followed this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Compile_kernel_module What procedure do I need to follow under Armbian? 13. Below are supplementary quotes helpful to asking the question: can CPU presets be made into a desktop shortcut that could allow pre-defined CPU freq settings whether onthe fly or even reboot required? Is so, what would the code be? That's the question I can't answer. I ask because of the two Beelink X2s (one each of Armbian flavors); I'd like to get a hands-on feel for how high the temps can be expected to go. I probably won't be running hot for long, but then again I just received a bag of heat sinks and can also drill holes in the plastic box for better air circulation. QUOTE 1 for reference: Some boards allow to adjust CPU speed. nano…

I'm using flir's usb 3.1 camera with OrangiPi 3. default value for usbfs_memory (/sys/module/usbcore/parameters/usbfs_memory_mb) is 16. I should change it to a 1000 to be able to use full size image acquiring. testing this number, the higher I set it the higher image size I can get until 256mb. above 256, max image size is aprox 3200x2736 pixels (I need 5472x3648). so I guess somewhere in usbcore / kernel there is additional limit. 24. Hi! I've coded a script that allows me to create a bootable disk of my favorite systems for different boards. it does a dd of the mbr (446 kb), then with fdisk and mkfs create the partitions, and at the end copy all the data for the root partition and others. This works for raspberry pi2 pi3, but for the orange pi it works only if the sd card is the same of the one used to backup the system, so i've investigated if the fstab or boot.cmd has some uuid of the disk but everywhere i found the device name instead of the uuid identifier. I don't understand why the orange pi lite don't boot with a different sd card if it have the same mbr and the same partitions. app…

I only ask this because the Luma.OLED instructions say "Because CS is connected to CE0, the display is available on SPI port 0. You can connect it to CE1 to have it available on port 1. 34. Hi, I would like to run Armbian Stretch (mainline kernel 4.14.y) on Bananapi M1. Board has an issue - sd card detect pin is broken. In legacy kernel 3.4.y there was an easy workaround to change paramter sdc_detmode = 1 to sdc_detmode = 3 in /boot/script.bin file. How would I do this on 4.14 kernel which as I understand doesn't use script.bin anymore? I setup Virtualbox with Ubuntu 18.04 and I can compile image with default options. I only need guidance in what parameter and in which file to change.

  35. I've got an Orange Pi PC2, and I'm running some pretty CPU intensive tasks on it. However, I'm running into a situation where the processor is overheating and shutting down. I've got a bunch of OPiZero's, and on those I'm used to the kernel automatically throttling the CPU frequency down and/or shutting off cores in response to rising CPU temps -- but I'm not seeing that happen on the PC2 -- it just stays at max CPU speed until it overheats and shuts down. Is there a way to enable that same behavior on the PC2? (I'd rather it throttle down the CPU frequency instead of overheat...)

Hi, I've read a previous topic about it but it was a bit inconclusive. My question is simple: can the OTG port be turned on on the legacy kernel? Is it just a matter of setting up the right bits in the script.bin/fex file? Or is it missing some other stuff? Currently I can use that port on Bananian. Since this board only has 2 USB ports, it's nice to be able to use the OTG port to connect a keyboard, since the other 2 ports have HDDs connected. Thanks and good work!!

Thanks for your effort on this project. Much appreciated. I was able to follow this tutorial (10 minutes, 24 seconds in) on the Debian image to get the TV out working. I'm building scripts to modify the networking between a number of modes - super helpful to get a console access when I break something and lose all networking access. Is there support for this on the Ubuntu side? The simple "add 'tv' to the bottom of "/etc/modules" doesn't do anything. Please advise. Thanks!

  80. It used to function fine, however after not using it for awhile it has quit working. It starts booting normally, then hangs with what's visible on the screen being a bunch of systemd messages, with the last being either something about system variables or mounting FUSE file filesystem, when it's the latter it's followed up with a kernel panic. I've reflashed several times using both the server and desktop images freshly downloaded, no difference. The power supply I'm using worked before, as did the SD card. Unfortunately I have no way of showing you system logs or such for the time being. Any help would be appreciated.
