Hi guys, I've just got my first of the H5 boards, and am loving it so far. I have a quick question however. On all of my Zero (H2+) boards I have an led on indicating power. On the H5 board this LED is not lit. Do I have a busted LED or is this intentional? Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

I don't know if this is normal. Sorry if this a stupid question, but I don't know why there are inside of the /boo/bin directory a bananapi.bin and bananapipro.bin but on the /boot directory the image target the bananapi.bin instead of bananapipro.bin. I am using Orange PI PC for running a Deluge (torrents) and FTP server. I have noticed that when Deluge is downloading something, the RAM is getting filled up. At some point the kswapd0 kicks in and start using 100% of one CPU core. This is going on until I manually release the memory, eather with reboot or with "echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches". Here you can see kswapd0 with "top": However, the kswapd0 is not visible on htop, but it shows one core at 100%. The memory usage is 111 MB. But "free -m" command shows that 865 MB of memory is used.

The MAC address of your wifi port on your Orange Pi Zero probably starts with C8:27:A7:F9:xx:xx I obsfucated the last 4 digits of mine. The Ethernet Port MAC starts with : de:ae:b8:d7:xx:xx I needed this when I was trying to find the device on my network to SSH in. root/1234 It showed up on my network as a reasonably "fast" device with 0ms lag. I'm running a Cat 6 network with a gigabit switch. A nice pinout that Linux34 from Orange Pi posted.

Hi, seems after some system updates SNMP stop reporting data about storage (size/used). It happen on 2x Orange PI One and on one Orange PI PC2. Actually in monitor what I use for SNMP monitoring I see last valid data was there at 05/09. I think at this time I update all boards and as I remmember there was also some update for snmpd. Can anyone confirm this problem ? And when we talk about SNMP, what is best way to change default logging level for SNMP ? Seems changing in /etc/default/snmpd doesnt have effect and after last update I must again edit files in /lib/systemd to stop that annoying flood in log from SNMP. OPI PC2 - 4.…

After many days spent wondering why is my OPI Zero2w 1.5GB not booting some Armbian images (xfce desktop version for example), I have found there is a "bug" or difference in uboot models 1.5GB + 4GB vs 1GB+2GB. Fix that might work for Zero2w is here https://forum.armbian.com/topic/31654-orange-pi-zero-2w/ (planning to test it soon) Can somebody confirm Opi Zero2W 1.5GB has still this issue with some Armbian images ? Armbian minimal boots without aby issues. Not sure why it works and desktop doesnt.

I've installed Armbian_5.14_Cubieboard_Debian_jessie_3.4.112_desktop.7z and It initially worked. I tested video files playback (I think it was mpv player) and it worked smoothly, no video lag. After 4 or 5 boot-ups, I'm no longer able to start armbian. I just see u-boot starting and then (when the kernel is going to be loaded (message: "Starting kernel ...")) I see mess on screen and cubieboard is powered off (red power light goes down, also networking leds). I use HDMI output (unfortunately I do not have serial cable to try debug it maybe further). What I tried so far, without success: -changing SD card for another one (8GB cat4 for 8GB cat10) -replacing power supply …

Creating a wireless access point through armbian-config fails in the new 22.02 release for the popular TP-Link TL-WN725N USB Wifi Dongle. I am raising it here because it worked previously on 21.08. I have tracked it down to be related to a driver change. Release version 22.02 uses the r8188eu and in fact this is one of the drivers the Hotspot configuration actually warns you about. Could this commit be related? In order to overcome this I have downloaded the official TP Link driver sources. but failed to compile them because headers are missing (even after using armbian-config to install headers). I have also followed the official documentation to learn about…

Hello everyone, I was running Armbian Xenial (mainline 4.11.8 kernel) on Win Plus and it was working pretty good (after a little fix). But after some bad configurations (the system was still working..), I decided to re-install the whole system. The thing is that there are no more mainline builds for this board on the download page and 3.10 kernel is too old (I need at least 4.9)... So I decided to build the system but I have some issues that makes the board pretty useless. The first is that there is no more Ethernet, no blinking light on the board neither on the switch... The second are the USB port : The two USB ports on the right of th…

Hello, I am very sorry that I have to leave the Armbian flock, but the Dietpi-Distro is so much better. It simply boots off the SD-Card on my NanoPi NeoCore and the darned Ethernet simply works; also the DTB overlay files work, so the additional I2C and UART hardware works in Dietpi. And the kernel is 6.x too ! However, the NanoPi Neocore is shipped with an outdated Armbian (using Kernel 4.x) on EMMC. What I now want is to replace the prepared EMMC Armbian distro with whatever is on my SD-Card, but this task is more difficult than I tought. What I would need is to simply copy the whole SD-Card to EMMC, but the recommended "dd if='sdcard...' of='emmc...'...." co…

This is not solved the only tag I can add is solved. How do I change that I have an orange pi zero 3 and am trying to ssh into this board. Ive written all three minimal files to different 32gb sd cards. After I write the drive I add a blank ssh file and a wpa_supplicante.conf file with my wifi info on it. I install the os with balanaetecher or Rufus(I've tried so many things. I find my IP when I try to ssh doesn't work) but I can ping the zero. I've tried windows 8.1, and 11 plus Linux mint same thing. Could someone please help me? This probably should take 20 minutes but I've been at it for 2.5 days

Hello, I am using the Olimex OLinuxino and I find a constant noise at about 866.725MHz or thereabout in every board. While low, at -100dBm, when using it with IoT radios this is the band in India and it is quite a pain in applications requiring high sensitivity. This particular board had it pretty nasty at -86dB. I have tried with changing the DDR frequency as well as the CPU clock, however this nuisance refuses to go away. What can be done to get rid of this noise ? I have tried multiple boards -- Olinuxino (multiple), Marsboard, but each has some noise in exactly same band near 866MHz. Please advise.

Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I decided to test a bunch of PCDuino3 images. Hopefully this will be helpful for someone. Feel free to double-check my work. 3.X kernels work perfect. 4.11-4.14 no HDMI Audio 4.19-5.8 there's a bug where the console won't show up if you connect a high resolution screen. It complains about not enough memory reserved for the frame buffer. So if you have a blank screen, it's possibly working, but you just can't see anything. Also, still no HDMI audio even though it's built into the kernel. 5.9-current hangs at "Starting Kernel" showing in the serial port.

Hello! I have an Cubietruck with an attached SATA-Disk. I would like to use the board without an SD-Card (I don't see why I should use one when I have a nand and a Disk). I can boot u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin using FEL and Armbian boots successfully. I can write stuff to nand, but I didn't manage to write an working u-boot to nand. Is the SPL-Version the correct one or the one without? Do I have to write to something special like MBR? Where does the BROM search for the bootloader? Does it parse the partition-table? Thanks in advance!

Hi All, Can anyone help in setting up HifiBerry Digi + with Opi PC Plus with i2s0.The HIfi Berry is based on wm8804 codec and it acts as a master while i2s on Opi acts as a slave I havent any examples of using i2s in slave mode on H3 boards so just need some help. Hello, I'm using a BPI M2 Zero (with H3 Chip) to control two relays on CON2-P05 / PA11 and CON2-P03 / PA12. During the boot process there is a high level present at the pins, which is driving the relays. Is there a way to create a DTB overlay to drive the pins to a low level during boot. My userspace application uses libgpiod to control the pins. I'm familiar with compiling and activating overlays, i would just need help to write the correct .dts file. Thank you very much in advance

I managed to start de A5E from nvme, but upgrading the packages fails. Installing armbian-firmware_26.8.0-trunk.125_all.deb failed With: data.tar lzma error.... Several months ago I got the same error but ignored it. Now everything is almost working, I tried to find out what went wrong. I can extract package with dpkg-deb -x on another system. MD5sum is the same on A5E and other system. This problem occurs on sdcard and nvme card. Btw: it is the 4G version of the A5E. Any idea how I can solve this?

Hello, I want to set the boot argument 'threadirq' in the /boot/boot.cmd file for kernel 4.04. I added the option and created the boot.src file described in FAQ. When I boot the system I get kernel panic, because rootfs not found. If I revert the boot.src to default, it works fine. The file looks like this: setenv bootargs console=tty1 root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 rootwait threadirqs .... Is it possible to do it this way? Thanks, Timo

Hi everybody, burned the latest armbian for opi prime since I got the board, and the greed led is working, but after all I cannot find it with “arp -a” and the ethernet led is flash, both color. Anyone have the idea? I don't have a screen or tv even a router here course I am at university. So I directly connected my computer with the board. Don't think anything is wrong.

I'm a newbie. Got the NanoPi R1 that sports a UART but no Video Output. Now when I want to read the output of the serial console I need a 3-wire cable and a converter, that much I know. But what is the baud rate? Where is this configured on the armbian NanoPiR1 image (on my raspberry Pi I just checked and found the file /boot/cmdline.txt with that settings, in my case it's 115200) Why is the baud rate nowhere documented? On the download page https://www.armbian.com/nanopi-r1/ it is stated that "serial console is enabled on UART1, which is exposed on chasis" , but no hint about which speed to use. There neither is any info about the baud rate on…

Hello, My project for Orange Pi Lite will be used in a car. To make the installation easy for everyone I would like to supply it from car lighter socket. Of course, this solution is not perfect (frequent insert/pull the plug by the user, current decays etc.). I mean problems with switching off without shutdown. I also mean how uSD will stand it. For now, I thing to attach an 18650 cell with booster/charger which will work as a "buffer" to keep current when the lighter socket is off. But I am afraid that it can keep power only for 1-2 hour. Is there a possibility to check the power level of the connected cell and shut down the system when the power is low? P…

Hello, in the company where I work, a nanopi M1 plus was purchased and we are developing a firmware to run on the device. When using armbian-config to select an overlay ("DTO001")e.g. for uart2, one is offered the full names w/ overlay prefix, e.g. sun7i-a20-uart2. The system adds this to armbianEnv.txt: overlays=sun7i-a20-uart2 But it has also the line overlay_prefix=sun7i-a20 In the end, uart2 is not activated (no output from /dev/ttyS1) - after changing the overlay line to overlays=uart2, I can read from /dev/ttyS1. System is Armbian 25.2.2 stable (bookeworm), Armbian Linux 6.12.20-current-sunxi.

Good day! I've had the Nanopi Neo2 v1.0 for sometime now, used for mostly for NAS solution. the v1.0 is the one being carried by my supplier here. No v1.1 yet Lately I installed armbian monitor to monitor system resources. Then I stumbled upon the min and max frequency when I checked using # cpufreq-info -p 408000 816000 ondemand I've read on some internet writeups that one can set the max frequency to 1008000 tried editing the cpufrequtils scaling_max_freq scaling_available_frequencies scaling_setspeed I was able to lower the minimum frequency to 120000 using the following entry…

Hi, trying to start my Banana Pi Pro Board with the latest Armbian buster image (Armbian_21.02.1_Bananapipro_buster_current_5.10.12.img.xz) without success. There is initial output on the screen until there is the message "Starting kernel ...", the after a few seconds the monitor loses its signal and nothing seems to happen any more see: https://c.1und1.de/@520257322610590089/1IBkHiwHQX6jYxLPdlkTZQ Reading through the forum I guessed it could have to do with an issue of automatic discovery of the correct DTB, so I edited the armbianEnv.txt file and added the following line to it: fdtfile=sun7i-a20-bananapro.dtb But still the sam…

Good morning, I have a NanoPi Neo Core that I want to use to generate a PWM wave. As far as I understand, the pin for this is PA5, which is shared with UART. However, by using the corresponding overlay, the UART would be disabled, and PWM would be enabled. Is that correct? What would be the next steps to verify that this is correct and to generate the PWM wave? Is there a specific command to do this? Thanks for your help, and best regards!

Had a bit of a success with HDMI audio and also video acceleration on OrangePi 3. What was needed was to apply some patches from LibreELEC, namely ones from projects/Allwinner/patches/linux/ . For HDMI audio to work you need 0004-sun4i-i2s-improvements.patch , which contains support for I2S on H6. When done right you should see in dmesg: asoc-simple-card sound: i2s-hifi <-> 5091000.i2s mapping ok Also what helped was an IRC chat that Jernej had with mirko some time ago: https://irclog.whitequark.org/linux-sunxi/2018-03-14 For video acceleration you need 0005-cedrus-improvements.patch and compile Cedrus driver. Hello everyone I have an orangepi zero with a Micro-USB (OTG) socket and an A-USB socket integrated into the board. Using the Armbian_5.35_Orangepizero_Ubuntu_xenial_next_4.13.16 system, a micro-USB cable connected to a Windows computer will have an ELMOG MAS COM device that makes it easy to manage orangepi zero. However, this Micro-USB socket is easily damaged after many times of plugging and unplugging. Can I use the A-USB socket as the USB device mode? thank you all

Hi guys, I've been tring to get an IR LED to work with LIRC for a while now but just cant get it to work. I'm a bit of a noob with linux, so bear with me.... (using 5.05 desktop image) I have been able to get a receiver working thanks to the stickied tutorial. Although only when running lircd manually with driver and device options, I've setup hardware.conf but i think the /etc/init.d/lirc script overrides that. Anyway its the sending using gpio that i need and the closest i've come is with the LIRC GPIO kernel module from here. As it compiles, loads and shows that the gpio pin has been allocated using: cat /sys/kernel/debug/gpio GPIOs 0-383, platform/sunxi-pinctrl…

Hello! I'm trying to get SPI working with Armbian on Cubietruck. Armbian 5.20 Debian Jessie I edited fex, enabled spi as here https://linux-sunxi.org/SPIdev#Configuring_your_FEXbut no spidev device appeared. I have no device tree file in /boot/. Here https://docs.armbian.com/Hardware_Allwinner-A20/is mentioned SPI ready and tested with ILI9341 based 2.4″ TFT LCD displayAs I understand the SPI driver is already in Armbian kernel but to enable spidev I need to do something else? Can anyone explain how to enable SPI on Cubietruck?

I have recently updated to Armbian Focal (Ubuntu 20.04). My Banana Pi M1 is running an apache server + some digital amateur radio stuff. So upload speed is important. My average download and upload speed as measured with speediest-cli is 45Mb/sec and 18Mb/sec respectively (wired connection to modem) With Focal I get these speeds with Buster (Debian 10) the download speed is still 45Mb/sec but the upload speed drops to 3.4 Mb/sec. These results are not one off but consistent. The am64 version of Buster does exactly the same thing.. My question is : can I change this with programming or is it a fixture in the kernel ? Can someone enlighten me please ? Rein

On my new orange pi zero I hooked a pl2303 usb converter to the three serial pins and use "screen /dev/ttyUSB4 115200" to connect. This gives garbage on boot, with occasional strings of meaningful info like "Orange Pi" or "Debian". Same converter worked fine on my Raspberry Pi Zero. I'm suspecting the Orange Pi is just too fast and either the pl2303 or my Debian system can't keep up. Does anyone have the serial console working? Should I try a cp2102 instead, or maybe reconfigure to a slower speed? When I configured a DHCP server and hooked it up via ethernet, I can get in fine. Hello every one, I have used crosstool-ng on my Jessie server (x86), and downloaded the linaro toolchain for my Ubuntu (x64 / 16.04) laptop, but ran into a wall both times: the cross-compilers won't (and now that I think about it, can't) link to the host libraries. Do I simply get all the sources for the libraries I want/need, and adjust their configure parameters to point to dedicated directory, and then build my target? Is there an easy way to manage the versions / dependencies to match Jessie (the version on my target OPi)? I am trying to compile Duktape with libreadline, if that matters. Thanks, Steve

This is to remove/add some features according to my needs 2. when you say "NAND is not supported yet." on the download page, do you mean Debian won't boot at all if installed on NAND ? The rtl8189etv wifi module on the orange pi r1 is not integrated into the main PCB. From photos on the web there seem to be such wifi modules with little pins which maybe can just be plugged in like some kind of hat but there are also versions without pins. Wifi won't work obviously, but anything beyond that ?

Hardware: Orange Pi Zero 512MB LTS (several different devices), bench power supply, good SD card - everything working good at all clock speeds from 480MHz upwards (all the way up to 1.4GHz even, with a heatsink). ffmpeg encode, stress-ng etc. are all fine. I usually attach a GPS module to OrangePi One to act as a GPS ntp server . GPS serial data can use any UART port. but PPS pulse can use PA7 or UART_RTS, I most connect to PA7, works very well. Recently I bought a GPS modules for Rasberry Pi, it connect the PPS to pin 12, in One it's PD14 But when I set param_pps_pin=PD14 in armbianEnv.txt , it can't work at all . see /sys/kernel/debug/gpio , there is no GPIO 110 (PD14) at all. So don't use PD14 as a PPS pulse input.

Hey all, I just bought an Orange Pi PC Plus and I intend to use it as an access point for multiple networks. According to https://renaudcerrato.github.io/2016/10/01/virtual-ssid-hostapd/ I used "iw list" to check if the wifi card supports multiple SSIDs. And it looks like it isn't. iw list displays "interface combinations are not supported" Is that just a driver/kernel issue or does the card really don't support multiple SSIDs? Cheers, luphi
