Hello, I tried several times to install debian in eMMC on Lime2, using nand-sata-install, without success, getting with the message : "There are no targets. Please check your drives." Note that on the same board, the official debian image provided by Olimex is working and can be installed in eMMC Checking with "dmesg | grep mmc", I don't find mmcblk1 (only mmcblk0). I tried with 3.4.112 image from armbian (also with 4.5.2). I installed a lot of images on Lime2 in NAND, so I'm not so unexperienced, but I don't understand where I'm wrong (or what I don't know) Thanks for any help ! Regards,

  4. Greeting, I installed the OrangePI plus image (desktop) on my Orange PI plus2. It seems to work fine but I can't get any video output. I tested with several h3disp settings, with a HDMI to VGA adapter then with an HDMI to DVI adapter, and finally on the A/V port. I have no hdmi screen to test direct connection without adapters. Ideally I would like to use the HDMI to VGA adapter. any ideas ?

Hi All! Legacy kernel says: "Enabled audio devices: analog, 8 channel HDMI, spdif and I2S (if wired and enabled in HW configuration)" But there is no multi channel device listed in aplay -L , like surround51, surround71, etc. With "speaker-test -D default:sunxisndhdmi -c 6 -t wav", We got a downmixed stereo result. Receiver device is a BEM-182 Broadcast Monitor on its HDMI input - only 2 VU-meter band appears. Other test setup is the same receiver in SDI input mode with an HDMI to SDI converter. Specs of this adapter declares that it supports 8 channel, and this time 8 VU-meter band appears on the monitor so device is ready to receive multi-channel audio, but…

  49. Hi, first post here, so a bit of context: I have owned my Orange Pi PC for a while and have it set up running the latest Armbian with legacy kernel, serving files over AFP and SMB on the local network and running a Transmission daemon. I set it up with the desktop image but followed the instructions in the documentation to remove the desktop environment etc. I believe that this has left the VDPAU and Cedrus related files intact. As I am using it as a media server I thought it would be interesting to leverage the H3's capabilities of encoding H.264 to convert old DivX files into a more modern format, but none of the solutions I have found for this work correctly. 52. Maybe this is not strictly related to Orange Pi PC but a few weeks ago I had problems with booting my device - mainly OpenELEC and I had to debug it somehow using serial port and the terminal. Unfortunately my PC is rather far from the place where I keep OPiPC. So I was forced to prepare separate device - cheap STM32 MCU based terminal display with 2.2" LCD screen directly supplied from Orange Pi PC 3.3V. It can be used also with other devices which allow serial console debugging. Watch below videos for more details and the code: Maybe someone finds it useful.

  53. For some days now I have the board mentioned in the subject, the goal is to have a webserver, git server, and maybe lateron something like a mini-personal-cloud for my family. Yesterday me and my brother finally decided which OS to use - and dd-ed the SD card with the Armbian/Debian Vanilla Jessie Server image (Armbian_5.10_Lime2_Debian_jessie_4.5.2). Some hours later after installing apache2 and trying things out I thought it would be a good idea to do an apt-get upgrade for security reasons before exposing the server to "the world". Unfortunately it was not: The device is not booting any longer after the upgrade. This is the log output of /var/log/apt/term.log (I moun…

Both screens usually work. See log: https://sprunge.us/YjQd I will continue to install the system via SSH, however I would like to use HDMI lateron e.g. in emergency cases. Greetings!

So far, seen only working UART3 (/dev/ttyS1) on pins 8/10 of CON3. U-boot seen on UART0 (J13), but under Linux, don't see anything on either UART0 or UART2. Anyone seen better results ?

  63. Dear all, we need some help from Banana Pi M2 (not that important), Cubox-i/UDOO and ODROID XU4 users. Please look through this Github issue and also have look how we currently handle IRQ redistribution on various board families (example 1 and example 2) Since irqbalanced on ARM is broken (and if it would work it's often counterproductive) assigning IRQs statically to specific CPU cores increases overall system performance slightly for free. We do this for A20 boards for years (dual core --> sending Ethernet to second CPU core), extended this on H3 boards a few months ago (quad core and somewhat complicated due to the count of different boards exposing diff…

  73. I am working on a new project which uses the Banana Pi to capture USB output destined for a printer in order to log the output from a system. The BananaPi will need to be a simple plugin which sits between the machine and a connected USB printer - so we want to: a ) Mimic the connected USB printer (so that the machine thinks it still has the original printer attached) b ) Capture the output from the machine c ) Send the captured output onwards to the printer. The BananaPi seemed the obvious choice as it has the built in USB OTG port and we would use the gadget printer to mimic the attached printer. Unfortunately, the Bananian images do not support the gadget printer a…

Hi, when I try to update my core the apt-get install operation fails. This is because the post-installation script creates a symbolic link as the boot partition does not support because she is fat. Also the boot is only possible with a uImage not zImage I think. To compensate I am forced to make a copy instead of the link.
