  1. I have Orange Pi Lite. I installed Ubuntu Xenial Nightly 4.10.1. Orange Pi Lite has WiFi. I would like to run hostapd. I want to see the Supported interface modes. I run the iw list command, but it does not return anything. What is the problem? I was looking for an answer on the forum, but I did not find it. Driver = rtl8189fs

Hi, just a quick sanity check - is install to eMMC on pinebook known to be working (with recent Armbian images from the wip section), and is nand-sata-install the right way to do it? It just occurred to me that I might be spinning my wheels trying to figure out something that just isn't ready yet Thanks, James

  4. Hello, I know there is documentation about it, but I think I've tried everything and my orange pi is still not displaying on my hdmi screen. The green LED is active, and the red one is blinking. I've written a Raspian image to the sd card, corresponding with the board. I have read about bin2fex but I can't have access to my sd card data on my Windows, to execute bin2fex. 6. I have ironed out my OPZ woes and have it working well now along with the Mainline Armbian image. As we may know the onboard wifi is garbage and will not get fixed, however I found a dirt cheap plug and play usb alternative on ebay (or aliexpress.com) using the common (Ralink?) mt7601u kernel driver. As long the dongle matches the photo in the listing it should have the same chipset. It has very low power consumption and at least with my wifi router gets the maximum 10mbit/sec throughput for downloads on my internet connection at a distance of 5 meters. I also added to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf .... blacklist xradio_wlan …

  7. BACKGROUND: Back on June 27th, I posted my questions regarding my wish to have certain kernel features activated (or not) by default in the Armbian/Debian kernels of the time -- specifically since I wanted to activate 'PPS' features in order to build a Stratum 1 GPS/PPS timeserver: Kernel Option Requests? Here are the 'old' instructions that I used back in June: ORANGE PI PLUS H3 with GPS/PPS I ended up needing to install VirtualBox with an Ubuntu 16.04 environment, and successfully created what I needed (i.e. 3.4.113-PPS-sun8i). I was also eager to create a much newer kernel, but that failed (i.e. 4.11.5). My Orange Pi PC…

  10. I bought an OPi Zero, the extension board, a 1/8-to-rca audio/video cable to plug into the AV jack of the extension board, and a 16 GB SDHC card. Loaded Armbian Stretch onto it, plugged in ethernet without any of the AV stuff just to start. The Pi doesn't even show up on my router settings so I cannot access it via Putty or any other SSH program. I turn it off, attach the extension board and av cable, and plug it into the TV in the hopes that I can start working on something with a USB keyboard...nothing shows up on the TV. I'm hoping that's a software issue and not an issue with the actual extension board I bought. I know for a fact it's loading Armbian because I can act…

I have armbian bionic installed and running on the EMMC. and A new bionic build installed on a new SD card. So, if i'm tinkering with the new build on the SD card, can i reboot to the EMMC without removing the SD card, and then similarly reboot from the EMMC into the SD card build??

The ILI9341 / XPT2046 peripheral board has shared SPI with a separate slave chip select for the screen and touch controllers. Hi, I'm using the Igor-Image: Linux cubieboard2 4.0.5-cubietruck #12 SMP Thu Jun 11 19:18:02 CEST 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux I installed a program that is using a PID-file, normally under: /var/run/fhem/fhem.pid I created a sub-folder and changed the owner and permissions. With the next reboot, all changes where lost. I noticed that the /var/run is linked to /run and this is a tmpfs. So, is there an option to add a subdirectory permanently to /run? Alternatively I will add a short script, that will do these operations after reboot, but in my opinion, that is not the fancy way... greets brenndorfler

I'm trying to send a music from my NAS on the base of Cuibetruck (Allwinner Tech SOC A20 ARM Cortex-A7 Dual-Core T) Ubuntu Xenial with Armbian Linux 3.4.113-sun7i with bluealsa to my bluetoothreceiver connected to speakers. My working configs are in my answer to the question: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1197072/sending-audio-to-bluetooth-speaker-with-bluealsa Anyway when I play mp3 with mpd or wav with aplay the music is extremely stuttering. Question on bluealsa Github (https://github.com/Arkq/bluez-alsa/issues/279) ended with advice to check UART set up (which is already too complicated for me). My question is anybody managed to setup a nice and smooth audio ou…

  53. Hi - I have been using Armbian buster stable on Orange Pi Zero for the past 12 months, starting with 5.92 last August and going up to 20.05.7 today. In all of these versions, clock speeds above 1.008GHz are unavailable, despite the board supporting 1.104GHz, 1.2GHz, 1.296GHz and 1.368GHz. They are not listed in armbian-config, cpufreq-set is unable to set them, and dmesg includes lines like: [ 10.030991] core: _opp_supported_by_regulators: OPP minuV: 1320000 maxuV: 1320000, not supported by regulator [ 10.031017] cpu cpu0: _opp_add: OPP not supported by regulators (1104000000) [ 10.031305] core: _opp_supported_by_regulators: OPP minuV: 1320000 maxuV:…

Hello, Is there anyone that has problem with USB keyboard on armbian 20.11.9 buster. I have tried both 20.11.6 and 20.11.9 buster nut the keyboard can't be recognized in armbian. (caplock, numlock LED don't work as well) I tried 4 USB ports on the port but doesn't work. The keyboard is working fine with my Windows PC. Thanks

  56. I've been using the Armbian R1 image (Armbian_20.02.1_Nanopi-r1_buster_current_5.4.20.7z) on the NanoPi R1S with good success. In particular, the USB host port worked perfectly, with no changes required. I thought it was probably about time to upgrade to a newer kernel, so I downloaded Armbian_21.02.1_Nanopi-r1_focal_current_5.10.12.img, flashed it to an SD card, and booted. However, plugging in an external USB device results in absolutely zero shoing up in `dmesg -w`. I tried a USB-UART (STM32-based ACM), USB3 hub, USB 3 Mass Storage (Kingston 16GB), and a Playstation 3 Eye, without any entries in dmesg. To do some debugging, I also downloaded Arm…

Hi Back in February '15 I have started to write an instruction about the setup of a BPi-R1 (Router). In the threads of the Forum, the information is scattered and it takes so much time for each to get along. So I thought such a document would help to become not only faster, but to achieve a better result as well, as you can faster spend time with the device and tweak it. My know how is getting better, but things are still missing. If you like to help the 'community' with your know how, please leave comments in the document if you find errors or you find something missing. Google Docs Thank you in advance - for your support Cheers Tido

  66. Hello! It's about installing Armbian on OPi+ 2E without a reliable sdcard and with no proper card reader - U-Boot goes to sdcard, Armbian image goes to USB dong then installed to eMMC. I did this once but can't remember what device was the sdcard in Android, if anybody knows it would be great to share. It mounts as /dev/block/vold/179:1, but writing (dd) u-boot.bin to 179:0 or 179 doesn't result in a bootable sdcard (the OPi boots from eMMC, and as far as I remember if it has bootable sdcard inserted it should boot from it no matter what is on the eMMC). There was also an issue with the nand-sata-install - I had to remove some lines as it wouldn't allow writing …
