In this post tkaiser says disabling HDMI and the GPU on H3 boards can reduce power consumption by 200mW. Is it possible to do this on a headless Orange Pi Zero 2+ H5? I don't believe I can use h3consumption or edit FEX files because I'm on the H5 mainline kernel. I tried setting monitor=none in armbianEnv.txt, but I didn't notice any appreciable difference using an inline USB power meter.

I'm trying to make working 3.5" 320*480 TFT SPI display with touch screen on NanoPi K1 Plus with Armbian 20.05.2 (kernel 5.4.43). For now it works, but the touchscreen has issues. In empty `startx` session cursor works for few minutes and then hangs, restarting `startx` make it working again for a while. If I try to run x session with chrome, the cursor hangs immediately. openbox-session & chromium --no-first-run --disable --disable-translate --disable-infobars --disable-suggestions-service --disable-save-password-bubble --start-maximized --kiosk --disable-session-crashed-bubble Any ideas how to fix it? Hi there 👋 I'm using a NanoPi Duo2 with Armbian 21.08.1 Bullseye and Linux jenkins-agent-arm32 5.15.93-sunxi #23.02.2 SMP Fri Feb 17 23:49:46 UTC 2023 armv7l GNU/Linux I want to use an SPI screen on it, but I don't know which library to use to handle the GPIO... I guess that UART2 (ttyS1) uses D0 and D1 pins UART5 (ttyS2) uses SPI0_CS and SPI0_CLK pins UART6 (ttyS3) uses SPI0_MOSI and SPI0_MISO pins Am I right ? And how to enable ttySs? I tried following for the UART2 echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio/export echo 25 > /sys/class/gpio/export I attached my fex. file and pcDuino3 schema Unfortu…

So first I'm new using armbian on Opi PC. I'm trying using my Opi like a mediaserver on my TV. I install Kodi and everything is ok. I'm now trying to fix some Audio problem. When I watch e video on Youtube, some of them have e perfect sound, some of them have a lot of interferences, so mutch that I can't hear anymore anything of the video. I already configure asound.conf with the card I'm using, i tried already using only HDMI for video and audio or to separate HDMI only for video and 3.5 jack for audio. Both solutions are giving me the same problem. I install every codec I found, also the vlc complete with the browser-plugin, but no way. I t…

Hi everybody, I'm trying to build an owncloud server with my Cubieboard2 dual card, using a Debian Jessie based rom. I download both the Vanilla and legacy versions, but when I put them on the SD.. the system does not boot! The official images hosted on sunxi servers are different between the "normal" version (with NAND) and mine (with two sd slots, 1 for boot and 1 for data, but no NAND). It could be this the problem? I'm also trying to start with a clean debian installation trhough official installer for armhf but no success. Thanks a lot and have a great end of the year!

Hi. I encountered problem, glimpsed through topics and didn't found anything similar so I am posting this one now. Had set up OrangePi Zero 256MB version with Domoticz and everything looked great. I have 2 internet connections, one is PON FTTH and the other one is VDSL. So I have 2 routers with RJ45 and 2 WiFi networks at home. One for my personal usage (ftth, locked router by ISP, static IP but no port forwarding) and the other one is for all home users (dynamic IP but full access to router options). I hooked up OPI using cat5e cable to my router and this connection is working perfectly reliable. I had XR819 hooked up to VDSL router as auxiliary connection (and con…

with great joy we saw the new version of Armbian_5.69_Orangepipcplus_Ubuntu_bionic_next_4.19.13 for orange pi pc plus (date 9-1-2019) We were waiting for a WIFI fix, on the WPA. Wifi at the very beginning, it works properly with a WPA connection. Then, you do not want to make another WPA connection and work. Will this problem be corrected in some new version of Armbian? Hey all, I'm using U-boot 2017-09 and Kernel 4.13. I'm looking for a way to disable the board auto start. I'm explaining. When you plug the power in, the board start by itself and U-boot does the rest. I would like to disable this feature in order to be able to plug in the power, charge the battery if needed and start the board with the regular push button. Is there any tweak to be done in the Device Tree ? Thanks Florian

Old post below, here is what I found out thanks to some help from linux-sunxi IRC, I think this is a bug in the ondemand governor When using ASIX AX88772B USB to ethernet adapter and the cpu-governor is on ondemand, transfer speed is very slow. If governor is set to conservative or performance (yes that's right) speed is ok, 50 Mbit at least. So the problem has nothing to do with cpu speed as such (it's working @ steady 480Mhz and @ steady 1200Mhz) for now I'll stick with conservative as I don't want my board to burn up, but It would be nice if someone could take a look at that ondemand governor. Additional info: …

Hello I have an issue with my wifi, it's not reliable. There is no problem with my laptop, or any other devices on my network, but my NanoPi Neo is disconneted after a few hours. It can stay alive for an half a day, and after it become unreachable. As I have no other connection to my NanoPi it's a bit hard to establish what appens. But if I unplug the USB Wifi dungle, and replugged it the link come back. Doing a ping to the NanoPi, I see regular "Request timeout for icmp_seq" - every 20, 50 or 100 request, it depends - and sometime the request time is abnormally huge: serveral seconds. Hi guys, I've been busting my head for days now trying to find a way how to permanently change MAC address on my ehternet on Opi Win Plus boards but nothing yielded positive outcome. The reason I need to permanently change MAC address is because I'll be running 6 of these boards on the same network and since all of them have identical MAC it's impossible for my router to manage them properly. I'm running Ubuntu_xenial_default_3.10.107_server with legacy kernel. First sorry for starting a similar thread here and in [1]. I try to read a DS18B20, which does not work with Armbian, DietPi, and Friendlyarm's Ubuntu. This morning, my idea was to slow down the CPU - and it worked. In detail: By running some useless cpu consuming python scripts, reading the DS18B20 works fine. As soon as i stop them, reading the sensor immediately fails. So there might be some timing issues in the implementations of w1-gpio and w1-gpio-board. Are there any hints how i can get these issues fixed? Thanks! Thomas [1] http://www.friendlyarm.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=393

Hello, We have our A20 machine with a sdio wifi device Realtek 8723bs which is not included in the current kernel's modules, then when we try to cross-compile them in a PC it fail requiring kernel version 3.19 or later, i think mainline kernel could be a way to go or upgrade 3.4.x to 3.19.x, but some text claim unsupported nand in mainline which is required by the project and don't know the correct way to make it go to 3.19 in sunxi allwinner scenario. What do you think is the best way to make it work better, any clue please? Thank's in advance Daniel

1-Wire works, I put the explanation at the end of this post. Hello There, yesterday I burned a fresh image of Armbian_20.02.5_Bananapi_buster_current_5.4.26 to replace my current setup (Armbian_5.91_Bananapi_Debian_buster_next_4.19.59) and I run into some trouble with 1-Wire. I tried everything I knew and found on the web but 1-Wire still won't work. So I need some help. My hardware setup was not changed and it worked for at least two years. So would rule out a wiring problem at the moment. My SoC is a Banana PI M1 ( http://www.banana-pi.org/m1.html ) The strange thing is, that 1-Wire wont come up by itself, I have to run mo…

I have a question, does anyone know a method to start in the Opi Lite system the I2S audio interface and in particular I mean the module: PCM5102 / PCM5102a On my old OrangePi Lite board, sound and audio in the configuration as mentioned above really work great ... but unfortunately the Armbian system that I use is no longer supported. This is the Ubuntu version (xenial) and kernel: 3.4.113-sun8i, I managed to update some programs important to me, e.g. mpd / mpc but not to the latest versions. I also have another version of OrangePI 3 LTS and I know that on this model it is rather impossible to start I2S + PCM5102 so I used a good sound card under USB and it is OK. Ho…

I've been using a Cubieboard2 and I have been struggling to get the SPI to work. I've edited the armbianEnv.txt and added the spi0 and spi-spidev to the overlay line. I see the overlays being loaded and I get (only when I've got the spi-spidev overlay on) a /dev/spi0.0 In the dmesg I see a line like "scanning for SPI0 on DT" (paraphrasing as I don't have the screen in front of me ATM.) I don't see any other diagnostic about the SPI though. I haven't jumpered the MOSI to the MISO yet (for a "loopback" test) The kernel is compiled with the sun7i-SPI driver as well as the usermode spi driver. Is this al…

I have a encrypted external hard drive connected via USB. I want to be able to automatically access it after boot so I made a keyfile that I put in /etc/crypttab. After updating the crypttab file I ran update-initramfs -u. But after reboot the drive is still locked. Why is this? I suspect it might be because of the order of things at boot. Maybe crypttab is called before the USB device is initialized? Any help would be appreciated. Edit: I had a incorrect crypttab that's why it didn't mount. It works now thanks!

Armbianmonitor: http://ix.io/2g5I I recently started playing around with OrangePi Zero with the Allwinner H2+ CPU. I want to test out the internal audio DAC. To do so I enabled "analog-coded" in armbian-config. After rebooting I saw a new audio device in the output of "pacmd list-cards", but it says that only mono is available. How can I configure stereo sound? I haven't played around with "/etc/asound.conf" much as I don't understand it. Also, I don't have anything plugged into the audio pins on the GPIO.

Have not been able to confirm if it is possible for the Orange Pi Zero to act as a virtual mass storage device. I would like to be able to plug this into a device and have that device treat the Pi Zero as a USB drive, and write to the on board SD as such. I believe this requires USB on the go so that the device can be USB slave. Any input on the topic is appreciated. I know the Raspberry Pi Zero W supports this, but I think i will have better luck with the wireless having an external antenna on the Orange Pi Zero.

Hello, I am using the Armbian 22.08.2 Jammy with Linux 5.15.69-sunxi. When I issue "aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav" or "speaker-test -t wav" playback misses a few seconds from the beginning of the audio file. If I restart it immediately, I can hear the file playing correctly. Then I wait for a while, run it and the problem reappears. I read on this forum that people have had the same problem for years without finding a solution. Is there a solution or does anyone wise know what the problem is?

Hi there, I'm trying to run luma.examples using an SSD1322 display via an SPI interface. I think I got the wiring right but the software is responding with errors. The app is expecting D/C and RESET parameter via a GPIO pin numbers to control the display.. I'm not sure how the Nano PI NEO Air physical pins are mapped to a GPIO port under Armbian. Where can I get a list of mappings for the physical pins to the GPIO pin numbers? How does this work? Is this an OS specific thing? Thanks in advance. Some time before I installed iobroker on my cubietruck and since that the system crashes every now and then. Two times iobroker was not able to start anymore after a crash. After googling I found out that maybe my SD card is the problem and so I bought a SSD. Now I found out that I don't have to reinstall the system. I can simply transfer all data from SD to SSD by using nand-sata-install. Everything worked fine. System reboots. But only the SSD partition was formated and all data was transfered. The boot information was not changed. Because I have no idea about unix boot configuration I better keep my hand…

Hi all, I'm trying to use an Orange Pi PC Plus to drive an RS485 serial converter and ultimately talk Modbus to a sensor device. I have managed to get flow control enabled on the port, but the polarity of the RTS signal is active LOW, whereas the converter I have requires active HIGH. Is there any way to invert the polarity of the RTS pin for the UART? I think it can be done via ioctl call in C programs, but I need this applied at a system level to be compatible with some third party software. Thanks in advance!
