Hi all. @Salvador Liébana has made a preview Armbian image with many emulators preinstalled. Also Box86 with which you can play x86 Windows games and x86 Linux games. Also running some Windows programs is possible with this. Download Armbian Forged : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gQtgWz2pH2TX9Qs_bcDU9zn7w4edfcVf/view?fbclid=IwAR0SRSC8M_1_qm825n4Bd7bqjLmO30qTpFo73qQQga-TC_LRuc2BVFcGzKU Here my video about Windows games on the preview build. Here some videos of @Salvador Liébana himself.

Hello everybody, I am not using OpenMediaVault but I am trying to implement some of its feautures into my existing system based on Armbian Bullseye, running on ODROID HC-2. Is there any tutorial or HowTo available that explains steb-by-step how to install and setup auto-shutdown feauture and WOL? I'd like my odroid hc-2 shut-down when not in use (especially over night) and let it auto-start again whenever I access it via \\myhost\share or \\192.168.0.1\someshare. If that's not possible then I can live with sending a WOL magic packet manually. Any known tutorial avaible for doing this on a ODROID-HC2 ?

Hello! I`m very new on how SBC`s work, and wanna know if there`s some way to fix this situation: My audio is not actually being reproduced via the HDMI connection between my TV and my Orange Pi [Orange Pi 4 LTS]. I took a brief look at the solutions/instructions on the documentation page ((https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Fine-Tuning/#sound-output)), such as: # Check the available sound output options: pacmd list-sinks | less # The default will be marked with "*" # Press "q" to close # Define the new default sound output pacmd set-default-sink <NAME-OF-DESIRED-OPTION> but i only got this, and as far as i could test…

hi all, I was looking for some unified os for more "rpi zero" clones and found beautiful armbian; and I am quite new to linux still, longtime/decades windows user; to "dogfood", I am also considering use of armbian on my "tiny-big" uefi-x86 (now NUC10, but got now new amd ryzen7 8845hs gmktec nucbox k8 plus), so I tried as very first setup on that ryzen7 latest armbian "ubuntu gnome" - monitor output is attached, so far so good, although I dont know if everything around usb3/4 is working well (log contains some red messages, dont understand them) - it was only simple install, and I have this comments: https://www.gmktec.com/products/amd-ryzen-7-8845hs-mini-pc…

Let me start by saying thank you all for the great work, it is appreciated! So a bit of info first. board: firefly rk3399-pc pro ( yeah I know it’s old, but so am I!) os: armbian Debian trixie kernel: 6.18.35 Bear with me, last time I touched Linux, lilo and xfree86 were things… I installed the community supported rk3399-firefly as I didn’t find a better match for the pro. Most of the hardware worked with the major exception of the audio. No problem, the rk3399-roc-plus.dts had the correct audio for the board all I needed to do was switch the audio portion into the rk3399-firefly.dts (though other aspects including just booti…

Hello All, I've tried Armbian_5.59_Xt-q8l-v10_Ubuntu_xenial_dev_4.18.6_desktop.img image taken from Though the system mostly works, in the main desktop menu (the one that opens clicking on left upper corner of the screen) I see no menu entry that can be interpreted as software management. By software management I mean a GUI application allowing to browse available package, read their descriptions and install or remove the packages. I use a currently fully updated Armbian on an ODROID-C2. I start tigervnc like this in /etc/crontab: @reboot linuxfan bash -lc 'vncserver -local host no' My ~/.vnc/xstartup: #!/bin/bash exec startxfce4 Everything works over VNC but gparted. Nothing would happen when I click on the menu entry. When I try to start it from an Xfce terminal, it (somehow) tells my why it won't start: $ sudo gparted No protocol specified (gpartedbin:23385): Gtk-WARNING **: 20:55:09.777: cannot open display: :1.0 I'm at my wits end and would be glad if someone can help me out.

Hi, It is very hard to start OS (community version, downloaded from here). The system doesn't start at all, if the keyboard is already attached. I've discovered some magic moment during the startup process, when I can attach keyboard and system goes further. In most of moments the boot process stops, as soon as I'm attaching the keyboard. Lines are scrolled too fast to let me note what moment is "successful". Also I've noticed that the chip is very hot, when the keyboard is attached. It's much colder when keyboard is detached. Another small issue is that functional keys don't work. Though Ctrl/Alt and other similar keys do. …

Hello, I run my program system as a service in console mode, so no login is needed. The Linux system starts up almost quietly after changes in boot.scr. The only "small" thing that needs a solution is the login prompt. How can I prevent login prompt from appearing? I've tried some autologin options I found for different Linux systems, but they didn't work for me. Any suggestion?

Hi, We are testing our orange pi one in critical external environments like warehouses, manufacturing and other. Connected in ssh i can access the orange pi but a lot of command cannot responde anymore, like ls, top, htop, tail and others. Hello, I'm attempting to port an unknown rk3399 board to Linux from Android with kernerl 4.4. I managed to extract the devicetree and it's slowly coming along with poking arround and mixing and matching and comparing devicetrees (it's not easy but I got time ;-) ) The board uses a tc358775 converter for the lvds display since the rk3399 doesn't have one built in. With patch from here: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/16747-orange-pi-4-kernel-510y-mipi-dsi-panel-sucessful/ it started to show some signs of life. The screen is lighting up seems to have activities but it's just showing bars. I'm not sure if it's a timing issues, but I used…

Hi, hardware / OS = OrangePi PC with Armbian 22.04.2 Ubuntu When executing following command "ssh -D 1080 user@domain" the system doesn't create / open ssh port where it should listen too. Good day! I found some oddities with UART port driver. If I change the speed or the number of bits in the transmission, then everything works fine. But if I try to set the parity it does not sets. Not work modes: "EVEN, SPACE, MARK". Normal works only "NONE". Anyone faced similar problem? Tested under minicom and Java prorgam. The same result. p.s. I mean this modes sets only logical and does not sets physical. The device on other end always reports parity errors.

I've just finished using the build tool to create an Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS (kernel 4.14.34-sunxi) image for this Orange Pi Zero, booted from SD, logged in, and everything was going fine. It panicked again upon reboot until I unplugged the board. I had zero panics before I made this change. I then inserted it into my MacBook Pro and that machine panicked as well. Here …

Hello! I met next problem: I need configure UART communication with baud rate 1 Mb/s (or 2 or 3). But internal clock of the bus is 1.5 MHz, and if i try to communicate with 1 Mb/s, error is too big. Is it possible somehow change internal clock of the uart? Or maybe any other possibilities how to configure such communication ? Or maybe you know any models with higher internal clock of the bus (Like on 6.5 MHz on raspberry pi 4, for example) ? Now one section is equal to 1.333 microseconds, but it should be 1.0 mcs. I found same topic at this forum, but it's no solution there: Thank you and have a good day

On my Banana Pi M5 Armbian Jammy has a strange device name assignment. BPi-M5 has internal 16GB eMMC normally named mmcblk0 and microSD named mmcblk1. Normally it boots from SD and if you install an OS like Raspberry OS for BPi into eMMC, you're still able to boot from SD another OS because RaspiOS maps device correctly. But when Armbian (i.e. Jammy) is installed into eMMC it changes eMMC device to mmcblk1 and SD to mmcblk0, and It prevents SD to boot. And if the eMMC OS corrupts and doesn't boot the SBC bricks and TTL connection is needed to erase boot record. To change OS it's necessary a command to delete boot record and SD on mmbl…

I'm not sure if there's a way to do this with Netplan, but this is what I did to get wifi working: Login via serial console or plug in Ethernet (I used the Duo mini shield which has Ethernet port) sudo nano cat /etc/netplan/armbian-default.yaml network: version: 2 renderer: NetworkManager wifis: wlan0: dhcp4: no addresses: [192.168.1.69/24] gateway4: 192.168…

Hello, I have Banana Pi R2 with armbian bionic. Have two wlan cards both USB, both works. But earlier when I used openwrt on x86 my both wlan and lan were bridged and had one IP - which was router IP. Here with armbian wlan hotspot get other IP than armbian itself. Is there any way to change it to bridge? Or best practices is to leave it as is? regards, Maciek

Hi, I have installaled a web server with "armbian-config" 3 Partie software on a Cubietruck3. All ISPConfig is installed and it's up to date. Now, I want to create a database with phpmyadmin as root without going through ISPConfig. I can not connect with phpmyadmin as root. Do you know the password created when installing ISPConfig. I looked for it in the ISP-config installation scipts but I did not find anything Thanks François

I have a raspi hat (rak2245) that has 2 versions: a pi-hat version that has a 40 pin-header on it for raspberry pi's , but also a smaller stamp edition. It uses spi and uart to communicate with the pi. I have it running without issues on my orange pi zero, even though the pinheader is a little too large. And via a breadboard I can access all pins just fine. But since I am making my own PCB anyway, I am interested in using the stamp version. The only difference between the stamp and the pi-hat version (aside from the form-factor and pin-out) is that the pi-hat version has an additional eeprom chip to tell the rapsberry pi about the function of the pins apparently. Now…

Is there a way to share my Armbian screen with another computer, like I can do early with Ubuntu? I have my Armbian machine in one room, and I need to be able to control whatever is running there from my other computer in a different room. I can do this easily with Ubuntu's screen share option. How can I do that with Armbian? Peter

Hi all, I'm looking for an sbc with low power consumption, but still able to run linux (arduino like solutions are somewhat unflexible, and take longer to configure). Basically it should be able to do rs232 and be able to store data to an sd card. It should be able to run approximately two weeks on batteries. Wifi/ethernet/hdmi are not required if there is a way to use a serial console (apart from the extra rs232 which is connected to our measuring device). I already own a banana pi (original) and raspberry pi zero (apart from other boards which draw much more power). Are there any boards I could check out that have significantly lower power u…

I like to attach an additional LED to my Core on any GPIO that is also going to switch on as soon as the Core boots (similar to the red one). This way I can give the user a feedback that the core is now booting. Is there a way to achieve this?

Hello, Is it possible to set the speed of the UART3 to 921600 baud instead of 115000? How to do it? I need to connect to an arduino at that speed. I have tried with minicom but I can't get it. I have also tried to put the following command dtoverlay=miniuart-bt in /boot/armbianEnv.tx but it doesn't work either. to 115000 if I can connect well, therefore the port works correctly Is there any way?

Hi Folks, this is just out of the blue but Armbian based on Devuan would be very cool. I find more manageable and predictable Devuan than Debian, I am slowing ditching Debian for Devuan, I recently tested both on some very little Linux compatible laptops and Devuan resulted in better compatibility and lesser weird issue with ACPI and LID operations. I use Runit as default init system and for desktop use I found it very stable: for instance when connected to the wifi printer if the printer goes in standby systemd is unable to reconnect to the scanner (you to restart sane) while runit is always on; there are plenty on these little cases where Devuan …

Hello, I've started a project where I'd like to setup a Bananapi M5 with two wifi adapters to use in hotel room for example. So one wifi adapter will connect to the hotel wifi, and the other will be in access point mode with dhcp for my devices to connect to. I think the proper terminology is AP-STA. So I have purchased one Comfast CF-953AX which uses the mt7921au chipset (0e8d:7961) to test in access point mode as it supports this: Supported interface modes: * managed * AP * AP/VLAN * monitor * P2P-client * P2P-GO The issue I have come across is the hostapd fails to start: nl80211: Failed to start radar dete…

Hello I just started using Armbian to try to salvage a Banana PI M2 that I had given up on more or less due to bad system images and lack of support from the maker. And so far the Armbian has solved all my problems that I had with the images from Banana PI, except..... I cannot get USB sticks to mount. I installed thunar-volman and tick marked Mount removable drives when hot-plugged, Mount removable drives when inserted, Browse removable media when inserted. Is there something I might be missing ? Thanks

We provided this week experimental Armbian images with mainline kernel for a few H3 boards. On the official download pages there are a few variants with 4.6.7 lurking around and here you find some with 4.7.2: http://kaiser-edv.de/tmp/w8JAAY/ Those for the NEO are also suitable for NanoPi M1 and OPi One/Lite, the one for OPi PC Plus can be used on any of the larger Oranges (no Ethernet on +/+2/+2E -- don't ask please, this is stuff for later) since they all use the same more sophisticated voltage regulator being able to adjust VDD_CPUX in 20mW steps (VDD_CPUX is the voltage the CPU cores are fed with). The procedure is called dynamic voltage frequency scaling and the id…

Hey all, I've been using Allwinner boards for the last couple of years and Armbian+forums have made this a workable thing that I promote to my friends as being The Way To Go instead of being a big fat waste of time. Igor + Tkaiser (and anyone else forgive me if I didn't give you a shout) - You fucking rock. You really do; you've all provided amazing amounts of support for multiple kernels and userspaces and in the face of (at least) bullshit from the chip vendors, yet you are absolutely crucial to them being taken seriously. The work from Armbian has (for me) made the difference between BananaPi, OrangePi, etc all being an unusable washout of #ShitDidn'tW…

Hello! I am just trying to set up Armbian Buster on my Banana Pi and I am experiencing a strange problem with the keyboard settings: I choose de-UTF8 for system wide locale and system wide language, I set the keyboard to German, but still I couldn't type umlaute (öäü). I am trying to connect to a 3D printer board using 3 wire serial, that is no CTS and RTS. I had a Wemos wifi module on it previously so I know it works. Now I need to use my BanaPi M2 Zero to control it thorough the same port, the Wemos has been removed and not going back. I keep getting a failure to initialize when I try to connect to the board. I am trying to use Pins 8 & 10 which is supposed to be UART 3 = /dev/ttyS3 from what I understand. Questions: How can I test the port? I have Minicom installed. How do I set the parameters to disable CTS and RTS? What flow control should I be using? Software? …

EDIT: I tried to plug it directly in router and speed is OK now. Weird, but it's fine now. Please close this topic. I got Armbian 23.8.2 Bookworm with Linux 5.10.160-legacy-rk35xx successfully running on a couple of NanoPi R6S boxes. So far so good. Now I would like to use Wifi dongles (USB sticks) that I have on these machines. They use the `ath9k_htc` kernel driver. I have used this successfully on ARM-based machines earlier. However, Armbian does not provide this module. So I need to compile it myself (either obtain the exact sources that were used in the kernel I'm currently running, so I can recompile this single module or, perhaps more realistically, start a custom tree with the Armbian patches and config, from which I can rebuild on my own). I…

Hi, my base problem is syncthing not starting on boot. But in trying to solve that it would be useful to uninstall and reinstall syncthing via armbian-config and hence softy. But armbian-config/softy does not let me uninstall syncthing (or for that matter samba, which I also don't want or need on that machine). Nor does apt: sudo apt-get remove --purge samba reports "Package 'samba' is not installed, so not removed", though armbian-config/softy shows it as installed. Is there a way to uninstall packages installed via armbian-config/softy? Thanks Graham

I recently reinstall my Tinkerboard with Focal Desktop to start over. I installed xrdp in armbian-config, and RDPed in, there was no wallpaper, no desktop icon, no mouse icon and windows I opened looks weird (but xfce taskbar shows up) I came to the conclusion that it has something to do with auto login, so a quick google leads me to this instruction, I commented the line in "/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/22-armbian-autologin.conf" out, reboot, and the RDP environment works great. Except now there is lightdm-gtk-greeter process in the background that is taking 100% CPU usage in full clock speed, the board became hot (>70 degree Celsius) very quickly. …

I've backed up my banana pi m1 with sudo tar cvpzf /mnt/BackupNas/backup.tgz --exclude=/proc --exclude=/lost+found --exclude=/mnt --exclude=/sys --exclude=/dev --exclude=/boot / and restored the files onto the external HDD on the OPI. Does anybody know what I might have overwritten and needs to be restored from plain armbian? Thanks René
