Recently we bought several BananaM2+ boards to integrate them into our future fiscal project We are developing software using Armbian Linux Debian-3.4.113-sun8i with standard core, which was chosen as a stable platform. For now we have a problem with integration. Due to our fiscal laws the board should be placed in the fiscal box with no access from outside. Now we are testing the board “on the table†using typical operations (even without loading it by typical cashiers operations) and the temperature rises very high. As a result the board starts switching off processor’s cores leaving only 1 working. We even still haven’t started testing the board placed into…

I have tried many Armbian images with my orange zero 2 but the best I get is the Armbian logo. Can anyone tell me if there is something else does need to be done? With the images from the orangepi page the board works fine, so is not the hardware apparently. Thanks.

Hi, what options do I have to access the GPIO from Python3 as a non-root user? I'm building a project based on the Rock Pi S and I have everything working (as root, i2c, GPIO) on the Radxa Ubuntu 18.04 image but as I wanted to future proof the project by using the 5.x kernel. I started with the latest Armbian_20.11_Rockpi-s_focal_current_5.9.10_minimal and enabled the i2c bus from armbianEnv.txt (rk3308-i2c1) (was already active) because the armbian-config didn't work. So I managed to get the oled display to work with the same library (luma.oled) I used on the 4.4 kernel. Then I wanted to install libmraa that I used on 4.4 but noticed was not …

I am currently attempting to compile a device tree overlay, in connection with an OPi Zero 2. But my questions here are of rather general nature (with regards to DT compiling), so I posted it here. ------- Goal: Creating a DT overlay to enable certain hardware currently not working on the board: wifi and HDMI output. Alternatively, compiling a "full" .dtb file for the board, replacing the one currently used during boot. For completeness: In the below I experimented starting from the Armbian_22.08.7_Orangepizero2_bullseye_edge_5.19.16.img.xz image, 406585908 bytes. uname -a: "Linux orangepizero2 5.19.16-sunxi64 #22.0…

I bought OPi 3 with 8 GB emmc, installed Armbian for OPi3, buster version, in the instructions I found a way to transfer the system to emmc - the nand-sata-install command. Then my actions: 1. Without apt update/upgrade try run nand-sata-install. There is only one option in the window that appears - Install/Update the bootloader on SD/ eMMC. Ok > WARNING > ok > done > ok. Reboot without sd > OPi3 not booted. Nothing changed. 2. apt update/upgrade, try run command. Only one option - Install/Update the bootloader on SD/ eMMC. Ok... Nothing changed. What do I do wrong, maybe the version is not that, or do you need to download something? In the …

Hi, I need to compile armbian to set some kernel modules. Now the compiled kernel is installed and armbian is up. I am resurrecting a Banana Pi M1 that i've had in the cupboard since new. I've downloaded and installed Armbian 26.2.1 build date 03.02.26 rev 5abb97453. Good evening All. I was wondering what is the best method to use an Armbian sd card born for an H3 based board on another board with the same SoC, e.g. Orange Pi 2 image on Orange Pi Lite. With old 3.x kernel it was super easy, just replace the fex file and that's it. Overlays confuse me a fair bit, and the best method I found until now is to specify in armbianEnv.txt the row fdtfile=sun8i-h3-orangepi-lite.dtb to use a sdcard loaded with an Orange Pi 2 image in my Orange Pi Lite. But I cannot find where the board is defined, could anyone point me in the right direction? Best Regards. Christian

Goodmorning, I'm Tiziano from Italy. I would like to manage all the delicate functions of my reef aquarium through an Orange Pi Lite card. I saw that both the Armbian Buster program and the Armbian Focal program are available for my card, I kindly ask you to understand if there is a fundamental difference between the two and which. I have tried successfully in any case to install and run both programs on the microSD and to start the two programs. The card starts up and the whole procedure is performed correctly. The problem is that in the end I am only asked to choose the "default system command shell" between "bash" and "zsh", no option to start a desktop …

I'm new to boards with linux and this is my very first attempt to install linux systems on board so there might be something that I cannot be aware of. I tried to install armbian v6.12 on the SD card but after I finish configureing the setup, the wifi doesn't work. Unfortunately I have no wires to connet to the board so now it is unable for me to connect the board to the internet. The problem is exactly the same as the post Wifi module AX210 - Orange Pi 5 Plus - Armbian Community Forums. I have setup an Orange Pi Zero with the latest Armbian Stretch to use as an Open Media Vault server and a Pi-Hole (with the Pi-Hole being used as a DHCP server). I installed both from the armbian-config software menu with no problems. However these days I've been getting at random times a very strange issue. I have my Orange Pi Zero set with a static IP address since I am using the Pi-Hole software as a DHCP server for my home network, the problem is that at what seems like at random times it gets a different IP address without me touching anything, the IP is something in the style of 2XX.XXX.XXX.XXX instead of 192.168.1.20 that I have set as static from armbi…

Tried to build making a new git clone of the repository. So far tried to test by building orangepipcplus and orangepiplus2e, both stop in the screen 'Choose image type'. Options selected for both are 'Os image for installation to SD card', 'vendor provided / legacy ..) kernel, 'Debian 8 jessie', 'Image with desktop'environment'. Also, another try to build for nanopineo stopped in the same place. It seems that today's commits (29/12/2016) got something to do with this, I was able to generate images up to yesterday. @Igor, @zador.blood.stained can you please let me know if it works ok with you after today's commits?

New user here Quick question re: the "Install to eMMC" script detailed in the getting started guide here: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Getting-Started/#how-to-install-to-emmc-nand-sata-usb Does it put a fresh install of Armbian onto the eMMC? or Does it move the configured install from the SD card to the eMMC? Hi, I have been using Armbian for the Tinker Board S for quite a while and communications with my peripherals using /dev/spidev2.0 had been working fine. I just did a an apt update and then an apt dist-upgrade and now it appears that /dev/spidev2.0 is gone. Hello all, I succeed to boot on sata usb by seting the UUID of the armbian_root from mmcblk1p1 to sda1 I tested several M2 SSD enclosures both NVME and NGFF most of the time, one in the middle, has a USB Hub and micro SDCARD port. Now if the USB enclosures is not connected, we are stuck in initramfs stage because the UIID partition given in /boot/ArmbianEnv.txt does not exist. I changed the UUID of emmc armbian_root (mmcblk1p1) thinking it would be overmapped with partition of S2 usb enclosure (sda1). Hello all, Im new to Armbian and sbc's. I have a OPi Z+2 and NPi Neo Air and they are both being used for the same purpose, will use 2x UART and I2C. I will add software bundles to Debian image for production use. Can anyone tell me if I can use the same Armbian image on both devices ? ie make a single image and then just rely on the Overlay selection on the image to allow our custom software to access correct GPIO automatically for both board types ? Thanks for any advice. Chris

Hello everyone, I recently purchased an ili9488 touch screen for use with my Orange Pi 5, but I'm having trouble getting it to work. I've tried several solutions that I found online, but so far nothing has worked. Specifically, the screen isn't displaying any output when I connect it to my Orange Pi 5, and I'm not sure what steps to take next. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EQaN4gj - That is the screen I bought. For context,I have the latest version of the Armbian operating system installed. I've followed the instructions that came with the touch screen, and I've also tried several different solutions that I found online (including using the fbset …

Hi, I tried your Debian/minimal/IOT for NanoPi 5RC, it's great, I would like to use it. However the RTL8822CE driver only exposes wlan0 and there are no parameters to set, and I need two wlans. For reference there are two wlans available in the core debian image from FriendlyARM/ELEC. Best regards.

Hi, I upgraded 4.13.16-sunxi to 4.19.47 Seems all went fine. but after reboot the former 4.13.16 kernel is still active. My cubietruck runs sd-card+ssd with system moved to ssd by armbian-config. Maybe the issue has to do with the sd-card/ssd booting sequence? If I have the sd-card/ssd system up and running, will the sd-card be touched with later kernel upgrades too, or just the root system at ssd? Holger armbianmonitor: http://ix.io/1Lit

Hey all, So recently I got myself an Orange Pi Prime so I could attempt to do some SPI flashing through spidev and flashrom. I have been going at it, set up the board, got an actually decent power supply, and set up everything. Eventually I got myself into the steps of setting up the pins for spi use. At first, I used armbian-config to enable the spidev into /boot/armbianEnv.txt then I added param_spidev_spi_bus=0 into armbianEnv.txt I rebooted and the spi device file still doesn't show up, any ideas? I have: went through armbian-config (System -> Hardware -> spi-spidev) added param_spidev_spi_bus=0 to armbianEnv.txt …

I can not ssh into my Orange Pi Zero 2 . I get "incorrect password , permission denied" repeatedly. I have loaded latest Armbian 23.11 and some older images all with same result. I used "1234" as password. My Pc has Linux Mint 21.2 and I used Xfce terminal also XTerm. Both My Pc and Orange Pi Zero2 are plugged into same switch. Also used a laptop with Linux Mint 21.1 and Xfce Terminal with same result. Any ideas would be great , I'm just any average user that tinkers. Thanks

Hello, My sunxi_tp_temp always reports the same value (429496576.0). After digging around, it seems like it's not reading the correct registers. According to the H3 datasheet(1), pp 255-258, the thermal sensor base is at 0x01C25000. The data register is at 0x01C25080. Using the mod_mmio.h and sunxi_tp_temp.c as a guide, I wrote a little utility to print the current SoC temp. #include <stdio.h> #include "mod_mmio.h" // improved temperature print utility // GPLv2 int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { float reading, celsius, farenheit; reading = (float)mmio_read(0x01c25080); //celsius = (reading - 2794.0) / -14.882; Allwinner H3 datasheet formula cels…

I think I have a bad gc2035 module that I'll soon put aside, but there's something odd I don't understand. Since it's cheap it doesn't merit a lot of attention, but I've got something that doesn't make sense to me. If you understand, please let me know. An image at 800x600 is messed up with horizontal stripe artifacts (fswebcam -r 800x600 -p YUV420P -> foo-800x600.jpg) But an image at 1280x720, while blurry, does not have the stripe artifacts (fswebcam -r 1280x720 -p YUV420P -> foo-1280x720.jpg) Why aren't stripe artifacts in the higher resolution? I thought the sensor was completely trashed, but it produced a halfway decent image when aske…

Hi everyone, I have a Helios4 NAS on which I have installed Armbian 5.85. I used the Armbian-Config to install OMV 4.1.23-1 (Arrakis). I used OMV to configure some CMB/CIFS shares which were working properly. I connected to my server via SSH, and performed an apt update/upgrade, and I think this broke my SMB shares. When using the dts editor in armbian-config, a different dts is shown than the one that I defined in extlinux.conf. For my RK3188 based minix neo X7, I decompiled an existing dtb from boot/dtb into a dts file using dtc on my Linux computer. I edited this into a new dts and compiled it into a dtb. I placed this under the name rk3188-x7.dtb in my boot/dtb folder, referenced to it in extlinux.conf and my system booted using this dtb (checked in dmesg). However, when I try to use armbian-config to edit my dtb/dts, it shows a different dts. Any idea how or where to change this so I can easily work on my dts?

Hi, I have checked that the GPIO Interruptions are very slow. If i receive a wave in a GPIO with IRQ edge enable, for a frequency of 100Hz, all IRQs detected are right (100 interruptions received) However if i increase the frequency of the wave up to 500Hz, i can't detect all the IRQs received, (50 interruptions received more or less) Well, i think maybe, the solution is to change the following kernel parameter: CONFIG_HZ=1000 instead CONFIG_HZ=250 (default) What do you think ?? Is there other solution?? Thanks a lot in advance
