  5. I'm using the image Armbian_5.38_Orangepizero_Debian_stretch_next_4.14.14.7z. My NetworkManager version is 1.6.2-3. Certain NetworkManager options like wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=yes or wifi.cloned-mac-address=random for NetworkManager results in not being able to connect to a wireless Access Point anymore via nmtui. On the other hand, manually spoofing the MAC address via ip, ifconfig and macchanger and using nmtui afterwards works in all three cases.

  9. First of all, I'm a complete novice to Armbian so my apologies if any of the following isn't up to the standard of this board. I've just installed Armbian 5.38 stable Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) 4.14.18-sunxi on a Banana Pi. The same computer was previously running a domain controller under Bananian just fine. The supported resolutions doesn't offer the one supported by my 10,1" Tontec display. It is connected via HDMI and offer a resolution of 1280 x 800px. Where 1280 x 720px work it stretches the content, which makes small copy unreadable. I found several threads where users discussed about this resolution. Would it be possible to make this reso…

An hour a go I powered down my Neo Core 2 and now I can't get it to boot properly. When I hook it to the serial Monitor this is the output. It tries to load the "-fixup.scr" file in the /boot/dtb/allwinner/overlay folder but of course this is not available. With the extfls command I searched the folder and those two files would be available: sun50i-h5-fixup.scr sun50i-a64-fixup.scr The "sun50i-h5-fixup.scr" would be the right one for my processor however why does it choose "-fixup.scr" instead? Hi, I searched around for any new info on the 3rd USB port (header pins next to the 40pin header) and couldn't find anything new than the 2016 post that found its existance, the rest I found was acknowledgement that the H3 has 3 real USB ports, I am trying to enable this port since it seems it isn't enabled by default even in the latest Armbian, how exactly can it be enabled, the whole script.bin change from 2016 got me confused, is it the usb3host option in armbian-config? That seems to work fine. However, the problem I have is when I have a power failure and everthing reboots at the same time, the server boots before my NAS. I then have to ssh in and run “sudo mount -a”. Is there a way to have the server detect and mount the NAS whenever it’s available to the network?

I get sound but no visuals on Kodi and VLC I've tried converting the files from mkv to MP4, I've tried changing codecs h.264->h.265. I don't know what to do because she will never understand/use a command prompt so I wanted to hook her up with something easy.

  40. Hello! This thread here: https://forum.armbian.com/topic/3728-varlog-varloghdd/ triggered the question in me how I could extend the log2ram. My problem is the following: I have installed syncthing. The default in armbian runs it as root - which is not recommended for syncthing, see here: https://forum.syncthing.net/t/running-syncthing-as-root/6316! So I downgraded the syncthing daemon to a standard user account "syncthing". In order to enable a non-root user to write logfiles it's common practice to create a subdir /var/log/syncthing/ and give it write rights for syncthing. This works, however my logfiles stay completely empty! Never…

Hi, I recently bought an Odroid HC1 and installed Debian 8 on it. I am being quite happy so far with the installation, however this softy installer is very frustrating. I tried to install Syncthing, which failed to start, then now Webmin, hoping to be of "smaller scale", but no lack. It repeatedly fails to do something, displaying the errors behind the curses window, so I had to stop it with Ctrl-C. Then I got back to the menu and after quit, a cleared screen. Brilliant. Are there logs stored somewhere, at least? I checked /var/log/, but got no further. Or how I am supposed to go through failing installations? Thank you,

Do i need only one OPi or two (one for send and one to receive)? Thank you for help.

Hi! I'm having trouble with one (only one) of the alsamixer settings. 'MIC1 boost AMP gain control' shoots up to 71 every time I launch a program that uses sound, such as alsaloop or arecord. I've done 'sudo alsactl store', so I can get it back to zero by doing 'sudo alsactl restore'. Obviously that's not something I want to do all the time. I don't have any problems with any other settings. The setting in question completely ruins sound quality for my purposes, so I need it to stay at zero. I'm currently running 5.35 user-built Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS 3.4.113-sun8i. I've tried Debian Jessie as well.

Hi, I updated from legacy kernel to mainline and then from jessie to stretch. Armbianmonitor -u output is further below. So far, the main issue is that after rebooting the DNS server is set to 127.0.0.1 thus loosing internet connectivity. Here is the output of resolve.conf (with manual setting the nameserver after reboot ) and the static network config. I am struggling to find how the dns server is set after reboot. I would appreciate if anyone could point me to a HOW TO. Minor issues: I can see only one cpu with htop, the ip address is not recognized at the ssh login screen, the opi pc is recognized as opi lite at the ssh login screen …

I created a user patch reversing this patch, but it could be better if this patch is removed from A64 as it is usefull only on other chip. Question: is my opinion on this topic ok? 98. Hi, guys. I need some help in understanding of usage AR100 (OpenRISC) coprocessor inside H3 SoC for the own real-time tasks. Now i'm using mainline kernel built with RT-PREEMPT patch. I'm using it with Machinekit (LinuxCNC) software to control stepper drivers/motors via GPIO step/dir pulses. But step pulses frequency is too slow (about 17 kHz) because the RT kernel latency is about 30 us. I think we can use the built-in coprocessor for the realtime GPIO toggling. The AR100 and main Cortex-A7 can talk to each other with built-in MSGBox. And the question is - how to launch my own firmware on the AR100 core?

Hi. I try to start Apache2 in Armbian. If i use 'apache2ctl -k start' then everything is ok. root@cubietruck:/etc/apache2# apache2ctl -k start AH00558: apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using ::1. Set the 'ServerName' directive globally to suppress this message root@cubietruck:/etc/apache2# But when i try to start it as systemd i get error. root@cubietruck:/etc/apache2# apache2ctl start Invoking 'systemctl start apache2'. Use 'systemctl status apache2' for more info. Job for apache2.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status apache2.service" and "journalctl -xe"…

  100. On Xenial A64 I added an entry for a LUKS partition into /etc/crypttab (after installing cryptsetup which added its stuff to uBoot). But at boot I don't get asked for a password If I add a timeout in crypttab, boot continues with a rescue console, if not it hangs forever. Other than that I have no clue what's going on, journalctl only shows "systemd-cryptsetup failed, status 1" obviously because no password was given. I also added dm-crypt to modules and called update-initramfs, but that didn't change anything
